My biggest questions aside from casting info would be, which production company? Are these films gonna be released on a streaming platform? Crowdfunding/Kickstarter? Are we talking movie theaters? Are we talking about one film a year 3 years in a row maybe or more like the Fear Street Trilogy, with films being released periodically but in a short amount of time? 🤔🤔🤯
If the announcement feels underwhelming its probably because they thought the strike would be over by now. The 45 (I'm not sure if the number is correct) days were mainly to give enough time to pass for them to actually give us information, but since the strike didn't end in time they gave us as much information as they could without scabbing.
It's still exciting and there is loads of stuff being kept from us but being patient sometimes pays off.

timing is everything (nothing makes sense to me)
HELLO! this fic is a bit of accompaniment to a social media au being written by myself and @justawhitewall!
if that's not your thing, no worries! this can also be read as a standalone :)
-------------
"What if we wrote emails?”
“Emails?"
“It’ll be perfect! You don’t have social media – which is still ridiculous, by the way – so this will be our own private… blogs, or whatever.”
"Okay.” Beatrice held out her hand, and Ava grinned as she took it. “Once a week, at the very least.”
“And we can still text, right?”
Beatrice nodded. “Of course. We both know that you wouldn’t be able to resist, anyway."
“You are pretty irresistible, Bea.” Ava hoped the cheeky grin would hide her sincerity. She watched the blush spread across Beatrice’s cheeks, illuminated by the street light, and Ava's smile faltered into a look of breathless wonder.
Irresistible, Ava thought. And yet…

Ava x Lilith 😘
thanks for the prompt, esther :) tysm for including the screenshot too, it was impossible to write seriously while looking at the sims option. blasted my focus to bits
--
A quick tug in her belly and then she’s inside the office, muscles tense and body stock-still as her eyes rove around the dark room. Her gaze flicks to the security cameras interspersed along the edges of the ceiling, taking in the lack of blinking red lights – there won’t be any prying eyes on them.
“All clear. Cameras dark, no hostiles. Cam, time please?”
A crackle of the comms, then: “Five minutes, forty-three seconds.”
“Copy. Thanks, Cam.”
A beat, two. A tell-tale hum at the base of her head, and Ava phases through the ceiling and lands in a crouch beside her. She straightens with a small hop and brushes the imaginary dust off of her shoulders. Ava’s decked out from head to toe in form-fitting dark leather armour, cruciform sword strapped to her back, face set in grim determination, and she’d cut quite the imposing figure of Warrior Nun if she didn’t insist on wearing that ridiculous baseball cap at every opportunity.
Ava looks over to her and smirks, tipping the frayed bill of her cap towards Lilith while giving her a shameless once-over. “Now, what’s a place like you doing in a girl like this?”
Lilith glares. “I’m on a stealth intel-retrieval mission. You are too.”
Ava chuckles, undeterred by Lilith’s sour expression. “Yes, I know.” It only takes her two small steps before they’re chest-to-chest, bodies flush against each other, and the burst of warmth that travels up Lilith’s spine makes her want to spread her wings out to better dissipate the heat.
“We don’t have a lot of time, just put it in already.”
“That’s what she said.”
“Must you test the limits of my patience in each and every mission?” Lilith hisses.
“Relax,” Ava murmurs, “We’ve got plenty of time.” Her voice drops low to keep the illusion of quiet. Their gazes stay locked as Ava brings a hand to the side pocket of her vest, the growl of the zipper deafening in the silence of the room.
She retrieves the USB stick and brings it up until it’s within Lilith’s line of sight, and she waggles her eyebrows for good measure before turning away to insert it into the laptop with a soft click. “Okay! Cam, you’re up.” Lilith exhales, slow and even. Focus.
“Copying files now; this shouldn’t take more than three minutes. I’ll let you know when you can remove the disk.”
“Roger that.” The progress bar pops up, percentage increasing at a merry rate.
The frantic clicking of keys on the other end of the line turns into background lull, the sound familiar and comforting after a dozen missions. They’re on standby until Camila gives them the go-ahead to remove the hard-disk before she installs the virus to infect the local server. Ava’s already drifted off to inspect the various knick-knacks that line the office walls, and when she spots Lilith looking, she grins and jerks her thumb to the item hung behind her.
Lilith stalks over to inspect the giant shark’s head mounted on the wall, her lip curling at the smooth, polished sheen of its skin. Weird, but definitely not the strangest office decor she’s ever encountered.
The sudden whir of the elevator’s motors catches Lilith’s attention, her keen ears picking up the accompanying thuds of heavy boots, both ascending to their level. So much for a quiet mission. Her wings spread out and her claws unsheathe in tandem. “Aves, we’ve got company. Cam, status?”
“Just a bit more! Can you hold them off for the time being? There seems to be–”
Static crackles for a second before the line shuts off completely. “Cam? Camila! Do you copy?”
No answer. “Damn.” Lilith glances over to Ava to find her already looking back, fingers tapping against her own earpiece and shaking her head. The march of combat boots on linoleum is getting louder, loud enough that even Ava can hear it, and she chances a look at the double doors before grabbing the laptop and shoving it into the open space beneath the desk, none too gently. Lilith winces at the dull thud it makes against the hardwood floor before she ducks underneath to hide, both of them barely managing to cower behind the desk. Ava’s elbow knocks into her ribs. One of her wings is caught between her body and the desk; it’s already starting to cramp.
Ava’s kneeled in front of the laptop, back hunched and eyes squinting at the screen. “Uh, okay – I see the cursor moving around, and the progress bar’s at eighty-five – no, eighty-six percent now, so Cam’s still on it.”
Lilith growls. They’ll manage to have the files copied in time, but not fast enough to make a clean exit before they’re stormed. A fight it is, and Ava seems to have come to the same conclusion as she fidgets with the scabbard of her sword, with the chape of it. Impatience itches under her skin, and Lilith peeks over the edge of the desk, notes the lack of doors aside from the singular set that’s in front of the room – one entrance, one exit.
A stairwell door bangs open somewhere on their floor and someone barks out a command, and suddenly she feels Ava’s hand cup around the nape of her neck, feels their mouths meet as she gives Lilith a quick but bruising kiss. Ava pulls away but stays close, ‘see you on the flip side’ murmured against her lips.
Lilith grabs her hand before she can get too far. “Ava, wait.” The shouts get louder, boots thundering down the corridor towards their room. Ava’s forearms tenses in her grip, ready to bolt into action, but she heeds the request and arches an eyebrow; the plan’s already laid out, and Lilith’s never been one to stall. This isn’t the first discreet mission where they’ll have to go loud, either, and it certainly won’t be the last.
Lilith bites her lip and hesitates, the tempo of her heartbeat matching the rapid footsteps outside. Will she, won’t she, why won’t she – oh, fuck it. “Be careful.”
Ava shoots her a grin, cocky and confident and so infuriatingly hot. “Always am.”
“You literally got stabbed last time–”
“I love you too.” Lilith scoffs, but she curls the edge of a wing around Ava’s shoulder before she retracts it; nothing more than a light brush, a mere suggestion of something, but Ava’s smile softens. The backs of her fingers stroke gently against the inside of Lilith’s wing, and Lilith swallows; it’s too slow, too tender for a moment such as this, a moment that would very much be stained quick with the flash of steel and blood.
They’re interrupted by a cheerful ding! from the computer, and Ava gives a quiet whoop in celebration at the fully green progress bar. She tugs the thumb-drive out and tosses it up, snatching it out of the air and placing it securely in her pocket, right as the heavy oak doors blast open. Flashlights from guns sweep back and forth as they go searching, searching; the beams don’t find them, not yet. The Director’s office is luxurious in its square footage, but there’s only so much area to cover, only so much time before they’re found.
Ava adjusts her cap so that it’s bill-backwards before she unsheathes her sword in one smooth, practiced motion. The blue glow of it plays across the contours of her face; it coaxes the shadows to settle above the arches of her brows, between the seam of full lips, behind the firm architecture of her nose. Her cheekbones cut sharp, her teeth glint with hunger, and Lilith thinks she’s never more beautiful than in moments like these – seconds away from a fight, where Lilith can almost taste the energy and anticipation radiating off of Ava’s skin, the thrum of it sharp and sweet in the air.
She licks her lips. “Exfil?”
Ava looks over as she crouches in place, ready. She looks excited. She looks good. “We’ll make our own way out, Lil, you and me. Now, let’s show these guys exactly who they’re messing with.”

The Warrior Nun cast all deserve to be big screen stars! I'm so happy for them. I refuse to freak out about them not saying what cast and crew will be involved. They started this countdown before the strike so they didn't know at the time they wouldn't be able to speak on it. Still, I don't think they'd get our hopes up this way.
But if I was Alba, I'd post a selfie with a halo edited floating over my head and say nothing else just to be a shit lol.

This was definitely not the announcement I was expecting from the Warrior Nun saved countdown. I thought maybe one movie but three sounds incredibly ambitious. Listen, I very much want to be excited about this but I would caution everyone to just be very aware that the industry is in an incredibly tumultuous period. The strikes probably won’t end before the year is up and I don’t know what that means for the production/story/casting of these features. By all means this is huge but also it’s important to stay pragmatic. Celebrate the win but until more is confirmed I’m still hesitant as to what this actually will mean.

I’m fairly new to the Warrior Nun family, but this announcement has really boiled my piss.
Last year I heard about season 2’s release and the Avatrice kiss and I was pretty intrigued to watch. But before I could, it was cancelled. After years of suffering through Supergirl and being queerbated left right and centre with Kara and Lena, I figured I didn’t wanna go through the pain of watching a story only for the ending to be cut short and never continued. So I never watched WN…up until I heard that it was saved.
Because I knew there was a possibility that this story would be continued, I decided to watch WN. And of course, I fell in deep - binge watching the series within two days. Safe to say, Avatrice and the other characters have all taken a special place in my heart. I, like many other members of the fandom, was looking forward to seeing what was in store.
So when the triology announcement came out, with no participation from Simon, Amy, Alba or KTY, I wasn’t phased. Before I’d sort of hoped maybe the likes of BBC or another UK studio such as Film 4 had taken the reigns (and not hollywood/amazon or other streaming platforms). The writer/actor strike seemed to be the cause, so I wasn’t worried. Plus, the thought of THREE movies featuring our girls? I was stoked.
Then we got the email a few days ago. At first, I was excited- the writers strike had just ended, so maybe Simon and co. were going to speak? I was at least hoping there’d be more detail on the plot etc. and then Simon posted that tweet. And it all snowballed with the other writers and my heart just sank.
Tried to stay positive, but it’s pretty hard to do when the show’s writers are all saying they know nothing about it. So I went to bed last night (I’m in the UK) praying we’d wake up to good news.
How fucking wrong was I.
This contest is just a huge slap in the face of not only us fans, but artists, writers and actors on the original show. The T&Cs basically state that whoever wins will get their art abused and exploited for the next FIVE YEARS in return for what? A sketch? Pfffft please. Have you learnt nothing from the writers/actors strike at all?!
The worrying thing is what this contest signifies…the producers of this movie clearly don’t have the rights to the Netflix show that we all love. Hence no Simon, hence no announcement on the actors and hence the shitty attempt to get fans to do the hard work for them and design a new Halo.
It really is a joke. If the new producers are reading this, please do better. Engage with the fandom….and for the love of god, get SIMON BARRY on your team.
I don’t know what else to say other than this is exhausting for us fans - and this is coming from someone who didn’t get a chance to get involved in the fight to save WN at the beginning of the year!
Let’s just hope I’m proved wrong and that the movies will be what we hoped.
(P.S. also, please fire Perfectly Productive Media from all your future web copy/media relations - as a copywriter I can say that the countdown pages they’ve produced are 💩)

Beatrice gets trapped in a bad spot during an assignment. Will ava make it to her in time? Will it even matter?
Tumblr media
One of the first things Beatrice learned when their training at the OCS turned more practical was that when it came to kinds of strikes there were switches, and there were timers. It was so bizarre when Shannon had sat her down after a training session. Seeing a woman who, for the most part, had been gentle with Beatrice, kind, speaking about how to cause bodily harm to a human being so… cavalierly… and with a diagram no less.
It was presented to Beatrice both as a knowledge point for defense and what to protect or prioritize and as a way to think through an attack. For the members of the OCS, they often used elements of attack as points of defense anyway. It was never the intention to instigate but when someone was possessed sometimes there was little option but to engage in such a way to render them unable to continue fighting back, or as an unusable host for a wrath.
Timers and Switches. Usually a concept for knife fighting but could really be applied to a variety of… techniques.
Switches, or so Shannon called them, were things where you can hit to turn something off. Shannon, ever the nerd, had asked Beatrice if she’d ever watched Avatar as a kid, and while Beatrice didn’t get to watch a lot of television, she had seen the cartoons. Switches, apparently, were similar to what ‘Chi-blocking’ did. You hit a pressure point hard enough, and boom, a limb could be turned off. You sever the spinal cord with a blade or a shot– switch. A blow to the head– switch.
The result is nearly immediate.
Timers, however, were less so. As their name would suggest.
Shannon spoke about the major arteries, spots of the circulatory system to cause damage. Any blow to make someone bleed was the start of a countdown timer. Some were going to be shorter than others generally, but not all timers were going to function the same. Lots of adrenaline? Arteries can constrict, retract, and naturally slow that timer down. Other times, drug induced or something else that dilates the blood vessels would accelerate that timer. Not as common– a much shorter timer was using a blood “choke” to render someone unconscious.
Another, lesser used timer was oxygen, or the ability to breathe. That could be by a traditional choke. Or a blow to the throat to crush the trachea. A punctured lung.
Exposure to elements. Heat. Cold. Dehydration. Shock.
Timers.
That was what Beatrice was currently dealing with.
Albeit a slightly less anatomical one for the moment, though it was looking more and more like it was trending in that direction.
How exactly Beatrice found herself in this predicament wasn’t important anymore.
The reality of the situation was, she was trapped.
Trapped in a tunnel that was filling with water.
Rapidly.

Please tell me if someone’s said this before, but the day the warriornunsaved.com countdown ends is August 15th, which is the day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Catholic celebration since Pope Pius XII established it in 1950.
This day commemorates “the departure of Mary from this life and the assumption of her body into heaven”.
It is said that Mary “died without suffering, in a state of spiritual peace”, and that she “was ‘assumed’ or taken up into heaven by God”.
This is not a day for mourning her loss, instead being “a celebration of joy for the union of the mother with her beloved son”.
Now, I know I might be reaching here, but with the amount of references and hints (whether they’re more or less explicit) at catholic stuff the show has and the things Toya said (and didn’t say) in her latest stream, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this is the day Simon and the team chose to announce more information on how Warrior Nun has been saved.
We could say that in this day the show (Mary) will at last be reunited with the fans (its children). And I also believe that it could be announced that Toya will reprise her role as Shotgun Mary.
This would prove the theory that Reya took Mary into her realm when she ‘died’, just as God took the Virgin Mary to heaven after her death. Besides, we never saw Mary’s body, and guess what happened when God took Virgin Mary to heaven? Her body disappeared even if she died in front of all of the Apostles (“Mary died in the presence of all the Apostles, but that her tomb, when opened upon the request of St. Thomas, was found empty; the Apostles concluded that the body was taken up to heaven”).
I also want to repeat this quote again “the departure of Mary from this life and the assumption of her body into heaven”, because it implies that Mary lives her next life in heaven, and what is THE Warrior Nun quote? In this life or the next. Shotgun Mary died in this life, but she’s living the next, just like the Virgin did.
I’m conclusion, either i have finally lost my mind, or Simon and the team chose August 15th because of the meaning this day has in the Catholic doctrine and its possible relation to Warrior Nun and its revival.
