Absinthe was seated next to her husband as the tea party was going on. She wasn’t happy to see that Hemlock was invited back after getting into Mama’s graces, but she tolerated him just so she wouldn’t make a scene. For now, he wasn’t misbehaving or verbally chastising her. His presence there was almost quaint.

Then a waiter came to offer a hors devours- crab cakes- at her table and she took it. She muttered,“Yum, this taste great.” Katakuri declined the offer and continued monitoring everything around him. Then a vision in his eye flashed before him and it was of his wife having troubling breathing as if she was choking. And that moment that was what Absinthe was doing. She was having a violent coughing fit, then spots began to appear on her neck.

Oven and Daifuku came to their brother’s side to see what was happening with their sister in law. Absinthe weakly spouted out,“I can’t breathe,” as she kept holding her neck. Katakuri grimaced as held his wife closely and glared at the waiter who had given her the dish. The poor soul began to panic,“No, no Katakuri-sama I wouldn’t dare harm your wife. Please, I don’t what has happened. Please, please spare me.” Katakuri was about to ready one of his jellybeans at his head before Hemlock let out an arrogant boast from his chair.

“Ha, Ha, let the man live. It’s not his fault something was slipped that made Slave Girl choke,” he cruelly laughed as everyone glared in his direction.

Oven turned on his heat powers, while he boiled with rage. He ran towards Hemlock and cried,“Roast in hell.” He tried to evade by using his smog powers, but Oven managed to coat himself in haki and punch a hole in his chest. He laid there at his table limbless, while his lackeys tried to scatter but failed due to Oven finishing them off.

Oven then turned to Katakuri still holding his wife’s now lifeless body. The medics who were there checked her pulse, and confirmed she was dead. Daifuku tried to comfort his brother, but was rebuffed as Katakuri held Absinthe’s corpse against his chest as if he hoped that that would bring his beloved back to life.
