There's moments as a wildlife photographer where you feel a certain connection as you lock eyes with these animals. This was one of them. This buck stood proud and tall on this snowy hill as the faintly yellow tint of the approaching sunset began to show. Time stood still as I took in the scene around me.

I've been hoping everytime I see this spot that an elk would walk out near it. The foliage is spectacular especially in Fall. I finally got lucky 🙌

These last months have taught me many things, one being this:

Go out and be responsibly spontaneous, make time for that trip, camp out at least a day longer, go on the lengthy hike instead of the easy one, make memories and connect with the wilderness.

Do it with someone you truly cherish and enjoy. I take photos every day at random times that I want to remember in detail- like this night.

Our tent got wet in a thunderstorm so this night we made a bed in the back of the van and enjoyed smoking and talking by the bulb light while we listened to music and just relaxed in each others company.
