okay now that I've slept and delt with my headache, for completely benign reasons I'm thinking about Emhira, and how she compares to the raven-haired mage Patia knew over two centuries before.
The Raven Queen that ascended was an arcane master and follower of her predecessor, implied to live in Avalir. We don't have a confirmed class for the Matron's og self, but given she taught Patia I'd bet Wizard... which is a very different way of accessing power than a Warlock. And if she was trusted to teach the Por'co grandchild, presumably this woman was highly regarded indeed.
As much as Emhira is coming to Downfall with a unique perspective among the gods (as touched on in Cooldown, being a mortal who usurped a god AND death / fate being her domains), her perspective as a mortal was an outlier among mortals even before she ascended. Not just that she was the only one to pull off this ritual successfully, but in being in the upper class of a mageocracy in one of the most powerful flying cities to exist.
And now she has been living on the ground, under the supervision of her Champion, for decades. Her Champion who stepped onto Avalir with muddy boots and ranger leathers.
Is Emhira a likeness to the Matron's first body? Was she born to be herself again, only to be molded by cataclysm and suffering into a far more ragged, worn woman than she was before? Hell; was that mage in Avalir all that familiar with death at all, with magic always so close at hand? How has it been to see death and death and death around her, out of her control?
How does it feel, to have a name again for the first time in two hundred years? To not be a porcelain mask but a person?
Given this war between gods is an extinction level event (the ash covering the sun reminds me of thd K-PG extinction event, and also how are y'all growing apples??), I wonder if Emhira is just as changed as Asha is. Life is choked and slaughtered and dying, they are both sides to that coin. How frayed are the strands of fate?
Is Emhira more like the Matron, or more like the woman who came before them both? Or is she a third, more mortal thing?

Cleric Nora (tiefling) casts Zone of Truth. This spell forces the ones affected by it to only be able to tell the truth. Warlock Deimos (dark elf), while under the effect of this spell, calmly ensured everyone he did not want to see any of them get hurt. He added that he thought they have become a very competent group.
Deimos then stated he could tell them more, but rather not while under the effect of this Truth spell. He asked Nora to end the spell, but she did not, angering Deimos intensely.
Panthea (air genasi) then spoke up, "Who is Vannatir?" Faeyra (firbolg) brought up that they had all heard the name Vannatir before, from the snake familiar Fellthran who referred to this person as 'the master'.
[cue Deimos panic]
Ijech (deepgnome) pleaded with Nora to drop the Zone of Truth spell, but Nora said she needed to make sure Deimos can be trusted. Ijech then got angry as well, asking what Nora's problem was. Nora opened up a bit about what happened in her past: she lived in a beautiful village where everyone seemed to adore her, but one day they all turned against her and her parents, during a mysterious ceremony. It taught her that not everyone and everything can be trusted.
By now the party knows the following:
Deimos gets his magic powers from Vannatir.
Deimos is tasked to place an arcane sigil to channel magical essence for Vannatir, his warlock patron.
Deimos tried to ensure everyone this was also his own plan. But the GM (Game Master) then intervened, since that was technically a lie. So, due to the magic of Zone of Truth, the line "It was my plan." turned into "It was not my plan."

What D&D classes I think Arcane characters would be
Ignoring the obvious background implications of certain classes, this is mostly just observation and personality based.
Classes will be in bold, subclasses italicized.
Vi - Monk, Warrior of The Open Hand. I debated on whether or not I should make her a barbarian instead, but her power in combat lies in her boxing skills and not so much reliance on weapons.
Jinx - Artificer, Artillerist /Ranger, Gloom Stalker multiclass.
Ekko - Druid, Circle of the Land/Artificer, no subclass multiclass. Even if it takes building everything from the ground up to accomplish his dreams, he will fight for others to thrive; for fresh air, for a bit of green amongst the grey.
Caitlyn - Ranger, Hunter.
Jayce - Paladin, Oath of The Ancients/Wizard, School of Divination multiclass.
Viktor - Wizard, School of Transmutation/Warlock, Archfey Patron multiclass. The hexcore is his patron, just trust me bro.
Mel - Sorcerer, Divine Soul. Birthright magic with the protective abilities of a cleric.
Ambessa - Barbarian, Berserker/Fighter, Battle Master multiclass.
Silco - Rogue, Assassin.
Vander - Barbarian, Wild Heart. Lol.
Bonus:
Isha - Rogue, Thief.
Lemme know what you think and please be respectful!

So recently I have been on a huge tabletop RPG kick so I thought it would be fun to talk about Class 1-A playing their own tabletop game, both the characters they'd play and how they'd be as players. For the sake of this, I will be writing in the context of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition since that's the system myself and others would be the most familiar with.
Tumblr media
Rikido Sato: Half Orc Life Cleric Doesn't really get the game too much. Tends to forget the rules a lot and his own abilities. Just kind of picked a class at random. Is the king of bringing snacks and the like, all of which are homemade.
Mashirao Ojiro: Wood Elf Open Hand Monk Pretty average in all respects as a player. Not too remarkable in all respects. Doesn't realized how bad the monk is until they started playing, but is too attached to the character and their concept.
Koji Koda: Firbolg Shepard Druid Is only really here to hang out with his friends. Too shy to really do any roleplay with the rest of the gang, mostly doing small moments with his animals friends. Accidently made an overpowered build.
Minoru Mineta: Dhampir Phantom Rogue Knows the rules, but is a power gamer. Uses the game more as a power fantasy to look as cool as possible at all times, even if it is dumb, though will quickly panic if anything goes slightly wrong.
Hanta Sero: Gith Horizon Walker Ranger Really interested in all the lore and history of whatever the dungeon master came up with. The kind that dungeon masters either love or dread. Is the one constantly asking question and cracking the odd joke about it.
Toru Hagakure: Changeling Arcane Trickster Rogue Super big into the roleplay of it all and is always excited. Mostly took Changeling so she'd have the excess to play as many roles as possible. Probably makes little masks to remind people who she currently is.
Yuga Aoyama: Aasimar Glory Paladin Is insanely devoted to the role of the noble paladin, much to the detriment of everyone else. Likely says the line "But it's what my character would do more then any other player. Constantly hints at a backstory that nobody is biting on.
Mezo Shoji: Hobgoblin Gloomstalker Ranger Not the biggest into roleplay, does fairly well with the actual gameplay. Plays the typically reserved ranged. Tried to tie his and Koda's backstory together to try and take some of the stress off of him in terms of roleplaying.
Kyoka Jiro: Half Elf Whispers Bard Wasn't really sure about all of this before play and went with a bard because she liked the idea of playing music. It was a rocky start, but quickly got into it and started having fun. Will make custom songs and playlists for the party, as well ambient tracks and battle music.
Denki Kaminari: Air Genesi Storm Sorcerer Wanted to try it out because it was popular. Went with something he thought was cool and did not expect it to be so complicated. Needs to be constantly handed the book and remined of the rules in order to make sure he gets it. The amount of math hurts his head. Eijiro Kirishima: Goliath Giant Barbarian Like Denki, wanted to get into because it was popular. Bakugou helped a lot with building the character. Has a lot of fun smashing stuff. Plays his role pretty well, even if his character doesn't go beyond the nice brute whose name is very close to Kirishima's own.
Mina Ashido: Satyr Glamour Bard One of the students the most into the roleplaying. Is very light hearted and goofy about the whole thing. Can play a lot in bard stereotypes because she thinks it's funny. Another instigator, though mostly from her getting too into character at the worst of times. Fumikage Tokoyami: Tiefling Fiend Warlock Has been playing the game the longest and super familiar with all of it. Always makes characters he thinks are "cool", which means are super gothic and depress, both in class and in race. Does occasionally have Dark Shadow dress up and roleplay as his patron. Ochako Uraraka: Fairy Zealot Barbarian Ochako just wants to smash stuff. She has a lot of fun rolling dice and doing cool stuff with her friends, both good and bad. Likes playing the typically pixie before going nuts. Can be an instigator, but tends to backtrack when she realizes just how badly it goes wrong. Tsuyu Asui: Halfling Moon Druid Like Koda, is mostly here to have fun with friends. Often plays mediator both in and out of character. Does a good job with roleplaying thanks to how much she had to play pretend with her simplies. Always causes a riot whenever she becomes a dinosaur. Shoto Todoroki: Hill Dwarf Fighter Champion One of the worst players both in game and in roleplay. Played a character Izuku basically made for him. Is somehow still one of the best because he is constantly getting amazing rolls at the most critical moments, much to the frustration of Bakugou.
Katsuki Bakugo: Custom Lineage Chronurgy Wizard Powergamer, no question. He knows the rules back and forth to make the most broken build possible. Acts like D&D is a game you can win, even when it comes to roleplaying. Not a full on murder hobo, but by far the biggest instigator in the group.
Tenya Iida: Warforged Devotion Paladin Very much devoted to the rules, both in and out of the game. Gets confused when people say that he's doing a good job at playing a robot. Collects a lot of dice. One of the best Dungeon Masters of any of the students, though can be rather controlling at times. Momo Yaoyorozu: High Elf Forge Cleric A really good player with the rules though can be pretty awkward with the roleplay with how much she tries to get into it. One of the best DMs in the class. Makes custom miniatures for everyone in the party. Puts a lot of money to make the ultimate game room. Izuku Midoriya: Variant Human Bladesinging Wizard The perfect player. Knows the roles, but focuses more on making characters. Takes the most notes, pay attention, and makes sure everyone is having fun and feels included. Likely gets roped into the role of dungeon master more then anyone else because of these reasons.

Fuck it arcane characters with dnd classes because I feel like it
Mel: saw someone say wild magic sorcerer and I think that is pretty accurate especially since she can’t yet control her powers and they came from a lineage
Vi: Barbarian/Monk, probably a multiclass but this one is pretty simple she is angry and punches a lot
Jinx: artillerist artificer, also self explanatory
Heimerdinger: lore bard, he is also kind of a scientist and while he didn’t start making actual music until season two, he frequently is trying to be a voice of inspiration to people. His long life also gives him a lot of knowledge of lore
Jayce: my brain says make him an armorer artificer because he invents but my heart says make him a human champion fighter because his character arc does have him as the “token golden boy” for a while
Viktor: most complicated one for me to choose, people I’ve seen have put him as a warlock or artificer but I actually think he would be a full on Order Domain Cleric. His powers involve both healing and mind control, plus a high level cleric is extremely dangerous. He also spends most of the series trying to help and heal people in need which is definitely cleric behavior. Also I’m not doing races for all of them but he’s definitely an aasimar
Silco: Eloquence bard, beyond just speaking eloquently Silco imo is a good example of what a bard villain would look like. He stands back most of the time and lets his goons do the work but he also has a strong way with words into convincing people to be loyal to him and to get what he wants.
Caitlyn: hunter ranger, it’s mostly the long range fighting and how quickly she picks up skills in new environments
Sevika: Paladin, not sure of the subclass, I considered making her a fighter but while she has no magic she may be the most loyal person in the show and I think that alone gets her paladin status
Ambessa: battle master fighter, she uses very strategic fighting styles and is an absolute unit

Okay, what if ahit but its a DnD type fantasy adventure? It starts with just hat kid and bow kid on a mission to defeat the evil overlord (Vanessa), but they end up forming a silly ragtag adventuring party with people they meet on the way. (Please click for better quality)
Character details I've come up with so far under cut, and also me sounding like a little nerd with dnd classes and stuff.
Tumblr media
I haven't decided on any location or character names yet so :P
Hat Kid- She's a wannabe elf warlock and Bow Kid's best friend (they'll probably get names, probably). She doesn't have an arcane focus in the beginning, but she ends up finding and using an umbrella later on. She's very energetic and determined (a little too much at times) and actually manages to become Snatcher's best friend. Bow Kid- She's a human beast master ranger with either a cat or a crow as a companion (idk which one yet). She's a lot calmer than Hat Kid but still gets really excited when she sees a cute creature (even if it is literally trying to kill her.) Cooking Cat- She's a silly kitty cleric (either light or peace domain) from Mafia Town. She's a ray of sunshine and definitely the mom of the group. Snatcher- He's a circle of wildfire druid (bc silly) who, until the kids came and found him, hadn't left his forest in over a century. He was stuck there in wild shape (silly ghost form. Don't ask what creature it is or why he chose to be able to wild shape into it bc i have no clue) because of Vanessa. She tried to turn him into a tiefling like her but it did not go as planned. Clearly. He's still that dark kind of goofy he is in game but just a little bit nicer. Not by much, though. Vanessa- She's a tiefling shadow magic sorcerer who has control over the entire continent. While her outburst (I'll think about more details of it later) effected Subcon the most, it had minor effects all over. She presents herself in her more humanoid form with an overly sweet personality, but the second she's ticked off ditches the facade and becomes her horrid, more demon-like self. She's less of a direct threat until they reach her domain. Empress and the receptionist are also going to join the gang, but I didn't know what classes to make them or what to do with their designs soooooo..... yeah. (To be fair, the other's designs will also probably change bc I made them in like five minutes).
If you have any ideas (especially for Empress and Receptionist) or questions, tell me!

I had classes in mind for the Bishops but I didn't write it down and I forgot them. You got almost all of them right i'm pretty sure, so I'll just take what you wrote and put it in my doc this is now canon. I love you and your peculiar ways Anon ♡
I should get to designing the DnD Bishops one day I CANNOT miss the opportunity for Artificer Kallamar

Level-Up Post: Mighty Nein: Echoes of the Solstice addendum
This is going to be short and sweet (ish) and covering deviations or clarifications to the pre-show post.
Everyone (except Luc) (and Aggy): level 20!
Fjord: I stand by my opinion that Open Sea Paladin 7's Aura of Liberation is superior to Hexblade 14's Master of Hexes, but both are very solid and the important thing is that Aura of Protection from paladin 6. We don't know his invocation but we do know his L13 Warlock Mystic Arcanum, Crown of Stars, or, more accurately to how he flavored it,
Tumblr media
Beau: She DID take the mobile feat, and I'm so happy. 70 ft/round base walking speed. Monks, y'all.
Caleb: has the Wish spell; is using it solely, currently, to replicate lower spells, which is iconic of him. Responsible casting at its finest. One of his at-will 1st level spells is Fortune's Favor, but I don't think we got any of the others, and I believe his feat is also unknown.
Veth: We do not know; truly hilarious of Sam to do this. Don't worry; I'll talk about Luc in a second.
Jester: Her feat is Flash Recall, which is in the TCSR and allows you to replace a prepared spell with another spell of the same level without a long rest. Very good for Jester, whose spell prep is iconic in its eclecticism (complimentary).
Caduceus: much like his careful evasion of any questions from others asking how he was doing during the campaign (also complimentary), his feats - level 19 and level 16 remain a mystery (though we know his INT increased with his level 16 feat). In short:
Tumblr media
Yasha: Took barbarian levels and has the CON and STR to prove it; also took Great Weapon Master, which is a solid option.
Our guests:
Rab "Aggy" Agg: Level 5 monk; no subclass we die like Bertrand Bell.
Luc Brenatto: I don't know how by how much the potion increased his level; at least to level 7 rogue (Evasion) from his base Arcane Trickster Rogue 5/War Mage Wizard 3. For a quick refresh on Arcane Trickster and rogue low levels, Luc has expertise, sneak attack, and uncanny dodge as well as the special arcane trickster mage hand abilities. He has 3 cantrips and 4 spells known from his rogue subclass. Meanwhile, as a wizard he has arcane recovery (not used; a long rest but no short ones), can prepare 6 spells from his spellbook, and he is treated as a 4th level spellcaster (1/3rd his rogue level rounded down plus his wizard level), so he can cast up to 2nd level spells. War mage is, on its own, notably a kind of shitty wizard subclass, but it's actually hilarious and pretty great as a multiclass option here. Luc used Arcane Deflection, which lets him use his reaction to grant either an AC bonus or a saving throw bonus, although when used you cannot cast spells other than cantrips until your next turn. This sucks if you are a wizard, but Luc is a rogue with an Aeorian security cannon, so it's fine. He also gets a +3 (INT mod) to his initiative.

Daeron ii’s family playing D&D cause I’m very bored and have too much time on my hands
(These are my silly hours so I wanted to write something a little whimsical that probably breaks canon. Idc ☺💖)
Daeron: The Dm, uses all the old school dice and handbooks from when he and Elaena played as kids. All their preset character sheets got burned by Baelor so he spends way too much time helping everyone with their characters. Gets a little too railroad-y sometimes but makes up for it with a good story and funny voices
Myriah: Doesn’t play, but sometimes checks in to ask the kids if they “won” yet. Will occasionally do the voice of a patron or deity if she gets pestered enough
Baelor: Human oath of vengeance paladin 10000000%. Originally chose the class because he thought smite was cool but kept accidentally breaking his oath even if he was technically doing something good. He’s kinda bad at roleplaying but tries to steer everyone to make the right decisions
Aerys: High elf divination wizard. Probably spent two hours hogging all the source books in order to optimize his character to be the best spellcaster there ever was. Loves asking about every minute detail in any new room which annoys everyone- but! On the bright side, he is the best at solving every puzzle the party faces
Rhaegel: Dragonborn drakewarden ranger. Only made the character so he could be a dragon with a dragon friend, but doesn’t really roleplay or keep track of combat. Spends most of the games stacking everyone’s dice into towers, but starts paying attention when he’s finally allowed to fly his drake friend around
Maekar: Goliath beserker barbarian. When he was asked what sort of character he wanted to play he just said he “wanted to hit things really hard”. Doesn’t pay attention to roleplay at all but becomes an absolute beast in combat, the group’s master strategizer at age 6. Has probably accidentally killed a party member once (*cough* Baelor *cough*)
Daenerys: Half elf light domain cleric. Has a 10 page backstory written about her character and will take any opportunity to talk about it. Claims to prefer roleplaying and just being support but has probably dealt the most amount of damage in the party so far and has a consistent pattern of advocating for fights because it levels them up faster
+Bonus!
Shiera: Tiefling college of spirits bard. Originally wanted to play warlock but was mad about the limited spell slots so saves her evil backstory for another character. Most comitted roleplayer at the table, manages to talk the party’s way out of most of the fights Maekar and Daenerys gets them into, even though she’s like- 5, so most of her convincing ends up being “no, that’s mean >:(“
Brynden: Tiefling arcane trickster rogue. Unironically the edgiest character to be made, consistently brooding in the corner of every tavern they go into. Everyone thinks he might be a potential traitor but ends up being the biggest ride or die in the party and probably dramatically sacrifices himself to save them (Daeron writes him as actually escaping because he felt bad lol)
Daemon: Fallen aasimar oathbreaker paladin. Gives Daeron a minor aneurism when he asks if he can betray the party at some point. Otherwise a really well rounded character who only dabbles in the edginess, and puts up with everyone’s shenanigans enough to justify his ascension as the game’s bbeg
Aegor: Hates D&D. Banned from the table for calling everyone a bunch of nerds

Been kicking around a fantasy AU and I haven't be playing enough D&D for my soul, so I made builds for my fantasy folks! I have no reasoning. Just vibes.
Lily = paladin (oath of devotion)
Marlene = barbarian (Berserker)
Dorcas = Multi Fighter (battle master) & Sorcerer (storm sorcery)
Mary = Bard (college of spirits)
James = cleric (trickery)
Sirius = rogue (arcane trickster)
Remus = Multi! Warlock (celestial/the moon/werewolf!!) & wizard (Abjuration)
Peter = Multi! Artificer (battlesmith) & Warlock (fiend)
Both our multi class warlock outwardly present with their  non warlock class. The warlock part is a nasty secret.
