It’s ironic that I play Khorne but I get queasy around blood.

Maybe the lore behind my Bloodbound should lean more into the “honor” and side of the War God that GW forgets about.

Or they focus their conquests against Bonereapers and Nighthaunt. Not a lot of blood in bones and ghosts.

I'm a little late to October's painting, because I wanted to finish the Riptide and have something substantiative to show off here. But here it is! The main thing is the Riptide, of course (the big orange mecha) but as well as that I painted a few spare Blood Warriors so I can run a unit of twenty, plus an Aspiring Champion and Realmgore Ritualist to lead them.

This has put me over my goal for the year of 120 models net removed from my shame pile (i.e. paint or sell 120 more models than I buy.) I also sold a bunch of stuff I know I'd never get to, so I'm now sitting pretty at 117 painted and 136 net removed.

Next month, I'm not sure what. I'm doing a legally distinct non-affiliated word writing challenge in November so my focus will be on that, and I also have to sort out a Secret Santa gift for a friend. I'd like to make sure I paint something though - and at the moment, that seems likely to be doing some test schemes for models for Legiones Imperialis. I just really want to put twenty Leman Russes on one table, it turns out.

Monument of the Skull Throne

I finished this piece of terrain a long time ago, and with the release of the new Khorne faction army books, I saw a fitting reason to finally post this work.

Like my other terrain pieces, I created this one with a 3D pen. In the game I use it as a skull altar.

MVP of today’s battle goes to the daemon princess (bloodthirster of intense rage proxy) Skrycha. For successfully slaying the Mortarch Katakros (apparently he is an infantry unit), his honor guard, and a nearby Morghast in a single charge, as well as getting vengeance for her embarrassment against Nagash a week and a half ago. She faithfully be awarded with the right of having the firebrand heroic trait next battle, as well as having her base decorated a little more.

My current 40k theory is that each of the 10th edition "God Legion" codex will align roughly with release with their AOS counterpart's 4th edition battletome.

So Tsons with DoT, WE with BoK, Maggotkin with DG, and finally, Hedointes with Emperor's Children.

Slaanesh busting out of the cuck-chair they are stuck in AOS will probably happen in 4E.

Likely, Demons might get refreshed, as 40k finally emulates AOS and divides demons into their respective God Books.
