That comment was left by a Ukrainian twitter user and I think it's a reference to the new "documentary" film Russians at War, which is made by a Russian-Canadian director with the purpose of portraying Russia as the victim and the Russian army as justified in its invasion of Ukraine. The movie was paid by North American organizations that justify Russia's imperialism and military occupation of Ukraine as well as by Canadian tax money. It received 340,000 Canadian dollars from the Government of Canada and is being shown as part of the Toronto International Film Festival. It also premiered in the Venice Biennale festival. (Who said that Western Europe has cut cultural relations with Russia?)

The Russian army is committing multiple war crimes against the Ukrainian population in a war fuelled by Russian imperialism. The Russian occupation destroys homes, villages, schools, hospitals, civilian infrastructure, it kills in bombings and in extrajudicial killings, they rape and torture and execute in the most humiliating ways they find. Everything is documented, yet it seems like the world wants to look in a different direction and pretend nothing is happening there.

The director of the Russians at War movie, who filmed it by living with the army for 7 months (including entering Ukrainian territory with the army, which is an international crime and goes against Ukrainian sovereignty), said that the Russian army does not commit war crimes and that it's a Western media invention, and that the soldiers they met are "absolutely ordinary guys" and that the purpose of the movie is to show the "human side" of the war (only the Russian side is included in that sentence, though).

"A case of polio was confirmed in Gaza last week, in a 10-month-old child. It was the first such instance of the lifelong crippling disease in over 25 years. Though there is no cure, vaccines against the disease can protect a child for life.

The child had developed paralysis in the lower left leg and is reported to be in a stable condition.

“Polio will not make the distinction between Palestinian and Israeli children,” UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini said last week, highlighting the need for urgent pause in fighting to mitigate the risk of spread of the disease."

I have no sympathy for what Israel is doing in Gaza and I consider it a deliberate genocide as it is and has been happening with absolutely no regard for the millions of civilians living there. And I'm really angry that my country and our allies are still firmly on the wrong side of history while so many people are actively suffering and dying in Gaza (and now also in Lebanon)
