Wahhhh wahhhh wahhh "cabby is written as ableist" wahhh wahhh wahh "the ae team is bad because they """"support"""" isreal" wahhh wahhh wahhh "silver spoon is filthy colonist scum" wahhhh wahhhh wahhh "queerbaiting"
Cabby was written to be unintentionally malicious. How would you feel if someone told you they have a file on all of your information that they know about? She was then revealed that no, she does this to remember things, and Test Tube learns to accept that. She is ultimately a nuanced character who is supposed to be dismantled by the audience. Something people with actual media literacy would do.
Animation Epic has never point blank said they support Isreal. They know the political state. If they were to side with Israel, they would state it point blank. The flag Adam Katz used to have in his bio meant he was from/born there. The Disney trip they went on was possibly planned several years in advance. If they ever had the intent of supporting Isreal, they would have made it clear by now. Shut up about it.
Silver Spoon sees himself as worthless. He acts the way he does to cope with it. This is confirmed in ii18. Candle wants to be needed by others. This is also confirmed in ii18. These two characters are together because of their fucking flaws. As someone who is Wiccan, Candle isn't portrayed badly. None of this is "oriental." Wicca is a religion, not a race. Candle is more Wiccan reprentation than anything. Candles, the object, and the color purple are often used in ritual worship for an altar. Candles, the object, are also used for therapeutic purposes like aromatherapy. They are also commonly found at yoga and meditiation classes, used for this specific purpose. Candle, as a character, is a very rare positive combination of these things, as most witches and wiccan practicing individuals are villanized. Candle goes against the common evil witch stereotype. Silver Spoon is honestly less British than Taco is. Again, Silver puts up a facade to make himself feel like he's more important. It's plausible that he even does the accent to make him seem "better" to others.
Bot goes exclusively by they/them pronouns, and their entire arc was about finding what was right for them as an individual. Paintbrush has been nonbinary and has gone by they/them pronouns since the beginning. The people calling ae 'cowards' for how these two represent their identity just hate that these two have identities like this. How would you feel if someone called you a coward for being nonbinary and feminine in how you present?
Honestly, this blog is starting to get on my nerves. The people here all sound like 8th graders who are chronically online. Go outside and play in the dirt or something get off your fucking ipad.
i don't give two shits about the intent, either way whatever AE says their intent was is just corporate bullshit. cabby's scene came out as horribly ableist and many people agree with me on this. Neurodivergent people are TIRED of being villainized and as soon as we see some possible rep they turn it into a "evil" thing and as a cheap plot device. DAMAGE OVER INTENT, always.
you don't have to be israeli or a vocal israel supporter to help the zionists. Silence is complicity. also katz is not israeli idk where tf y'all are getting it from. Either way, refusing to delay episodes DESPITE CREW MEMBERS ADVOCATING FOR IT, not calling out the genocide that israel has been doing for YEARS, using the isr flag for "jewish pride" when there are OTHER EMOJIS to represent judaism, shows the kind of person katz is. We all gave you proof about it and y'all just keep defending this piece of shit to fit your weird ass cult of personality
candle is nothing but an ignorant clusterfuck of "non-white" cultures that are totally misunderstood and misrepresented "for the funny". And the fact they have a "british" man sabotaging MULTIPLE TIMES a poc-coded woman, only for the poc-coded woman to supposedly fall in love with him, is very, VERY weird. I have anons who ARE indigenous and agree with me to this.
Bot's representation was ASS because why the fuck would you use a ROBOT, created to mimic a DEAD PERSON (fucking weird) as a way to represent nonbinary/trans people and encourage a morally questionable stupid fucking "family" trope. As a nonbinary person, i would much rather like to not be represented at all than being represented like this. Stop acting like this is good rep for fuck's sake, actually educate yourself on good enby/trans rep.

As much as I adore this quote, and I adore it so so much because It fits/tranlates so well with everything Polin reprents to me and how a see their love story - a love that grows and blows at every single interaction, the story of the unseen, unheard wallflower who's boy she fell in love sees and hear her even before he realises he is love too, every dance, every smile, every gossip...
This candle is not a gift. We didn't win. In fact, we lost. This quote and who knows how many more moments. And the fact that someone aproved it for a merch tells me it was supposed to be in the show and later got cut. Instead of celebrate them for giving it to us in a candle that is basically only avalible in the States, we should ask them for this scene. It's actually messy and disrespectful for them to choose a quote that didn't make it of all the ones that fans love.
Also, if you can get it and want it, by all means, have it. I am not saying for people to don't buy it. I am saying: don't thank them. Let them know that put this quote on the candle doesn't make up for cuting it - nor all the other things they cut and reshot. Don't celebrate them for "releasing" this when they spent the last 6 months trying to convince the deleted moments didn't exist.

One last reason as to why I love first kill.
When I was younger I loved the science fiction, supernatural, fantasy genre. Who wouldn't? Escaping to worlds where so much more is possible, escaping to a place where lots of things from our world don't exist. Not the same way at least.
Yet I would read these books and I couldn't connect with the mc and their love interest because it was always a mlw relationship. More times than not I took notes on how the m was acting and how the w reacted to it. How gay of me.
With age and school I had to distance myself from books and I ended up missing it a lot- saved money, sure, but those worlds were so special.
Then c*vid happened and I had more time on my hands and I picked up reading again! I fell in love with the scenes being painted across my imagination. But... again, I wasn't connecting, not the way my now very out self wanted to connect to them. I even picked up a gay werewolf book! Sure it wasn't wlw but gay AND werewolf? Why not?!
And well... I remembered a lot of gay books are weirdly fetishized. And I got angry.
Which leads me to the part that connects to First Kill. Because you see, I wrote a book. Its nothing grand, I've only finished the first draft, and if it gets published, it'll be a self publish.
But First Kill? It reflects everything in my book. There's a lesbian lead who falls for, not a hunter, but a girl! Both first kill and my book have creatures and urban myths that are a lie. There are lots of differences, but at the end of the day both stories are LGBTQ+ media that is drowning in supernatural content.
I love first kill because I wrote my book to have media I'd never seen before! And first kill literally HANDED me said media on a plate and said "dinner is served".
I feel like it's a silly reason to love a show so much, but it's one of my reasons. I love it because it gave me content I craved to see so badly I wrote a book about it. I love it because the little girl who thought she was messed up for liking girls is now in her 20s and seeing lesbian media normalized.
AND YOU KNOW WHAT?! imma say it.
I love first kill because when Imani and Sarah Catherine kiss, its so believable that if I had had that type of representation when I was younger, I wouldn't have doubted my ability to find love.
Anyway, first kill might be cringe but its everything I've ever wanted in a show. If it gets canceled I might simply wither away.
#first kill#calliette#calliope burns#calliope and juliette#first kill netflix#juliette fairmont#when i say first kill means a lot to me#i mean it#like i literally cried over the idea of it being canceled#i cried because if a tv show with over 30M views can get canceled then what hope is there for me?#some uni kid who just wants some representation?#wants to show reprentation?#if first kill gets canceled then all future media like first kill will have people saying#first kill crawled so xxx could walk and you could run!#but i dont fucking want that!#i want first kill to SPRINT right off the bat and keep going until theres nothing left for it to give#and maybe a little longer cause I'm selfish#i dont want first kill to have to crawl for other media cause thats so dumb that we have to fight this hard#please for the love of god netflix#give us a s2 renewal or else i will literally have an identity crisis#i will literally spiral#or gay spiral#as ben wheeler might say

Hello!! I absolutely love trice forgotten and I was so over the moon excited to hear the name noor for the first time cuz that’s my brothers name! I never get to hear it very often in fiction. Also I absolutely love the occasional Islamic phrases noor will use. Can I ask how you came up with which languages and ethnicities you wanted your characters to be?
hello friend! :D I'm excited that you're excited, and as you can tell I love the name Noor so i hope they live up to your excitement!
i chose the languages and ethnicities based on the diasporas i grew up around in London, especially when those weren't/aren't seen in British media - Tamil Sri Lankans, Yemeni people, Filipinos, non-mainland Chinese and West Africans - my friends and family are these ethnicities because of where the British have been - and though more and more reprentation has grown of trans white people and of queer east asians, the people i grew up near have had their cultures and histories forgotten and forgotten in the western canon.
I'm far and away from being any kind of expert on the cultures in the show, but they are at least slightly more familiar to me; i ate in British Tamil households, so know marginally more about them than other South Asian cultures.
I think Baker and Alestes are the outliers - both of their backgrounds were built from historical figures I'd read about while doing preliminary research - one study on Chinese South Africans, and one on the history of Black Nova Scotians - both related to the British trade routes between the Americas to South Asia, swinging around Cape Town.
As for languages, they all speak English because all of their countries of birth have been colonised by the British - but I wanted them to have the mixed-race/diaspora/migrant struggle of having too many better (/worse) words tumbling out of their mouth. There's no English term that encapsulates insha'Allah for Noor. Alestes swears in Hokkien because Baker didn't speak any and couldn't tell her off, but she doesn't know Hokkien, or isiXhosa, she's always lived on the outer edges of people who do.
anyway, very long ramble that could simply have been: because my friends' backgrounds made it easy for me to start researching!
#ask nemo#thank you for letting me once again go off about my babies#if you're interested in knowing more please do ask I'm just aware of the autism making me ready to write a 20k essay about how they link#and i already nearly gave 3 spoilers writing this post lmao#trice forgotten

First thing first, I need you to point me towards this apparent treasure trove of Jaymia fanworks you've found. Where are they? I see a total of five fics written about them in ao3, one of which is mine and short and less than a week old. I haven't read the others (yet), but two of them don't even reach 500 words. The handful examples of fanart I've seen are basically wordless snapshots of them acting like a couple: cute, but hardly in-depth characterization. I don't rule out there are other fanworks out there in sites with less convenient search systems (she doesn't even have a tag in ff.net smh), but giving how minor this ship is (at the time I'm writing this, less than thirty people have voted "I ship it" in the poll that prompted this post), the sample won't be that much bigger than this.
And basing your analysis on such a small sample is deficient, at best. I can tell you right now that when I wrote my own fic, a one-shot that shows a very small window into a short moment, I was explicitly thinking about my long (Jay)Mia story and thinking "how could I do something different than what I'd normally do with them?" Jason's fandom is notoriously divided, and within it the minuscule sub-fandom that actively ships Jaymia is a handful of individuals that probably have wildly different ideas about the ship (though a few of us have a group chat and it's quite chill). Five fics aren't reprentative of anything, because we're not a collective you can do pattern analysis on, plain and simple. We could barely fill a classroom. A significantly tiny one, at that.
Another thing I want to get out of the way quickly is Jason's age. Jason dies at 15 (I've seen mentions of a second death certificate that has him die at 14, but the one I remember says 15). A handful of months later (I've seen people putting it at 6 months but I personally think the wait is shorter), Tim appears, stating he's 13. Mia is not younger than Tim, and she's probably older, to my recollection. That means, if we really stretch it, Jason would be at most three years older than her, and it's likely less. ETA: he's actually said to turn 18 shortly before War Games, and Mia says she's 17 around the same time, maybe a bit later, in GA comics. Seeing Red happens over a year after that. Ig you can stretch it to a two years age gap, at most. He is, strictly speaking, older than Mia, but calling him "Older Guy" is purposefully misleading. An age gap like this makes two people peers.
You remark yourself it's "only by a few years" and say it's significant, but... I don't think it is, quite frankly. And as I approach the relationship as being between peers, I simply see it quite differently than you do. I also think the idea of Jason being more powerful than her is very arguable. Mia will always have a support network he lacks, at least initially, and that at the very least that he'll never be close to matching, for example. A team with the Titans and a not-one-size-fits-all family with Oliver and company. I think both of them take wins and loses in this area and I find that more interesting.
Now, onto the meat of the post.
Saying Jason "deliberately [dug] up" information about Mia to throw it back in her face and re-traumatise her is at best an inaccurate, regurgitated argument, and at worst one made in blatant bad faith, and in either case it relies on ignoring what actually happens on page and important context for both characters.
First, Jason hardly had to dig up any of the information he posseses about Mia, because Mia publically disclosed it to the world. It's quite a significant plot-point in Green Arrow '01, specifically in #45, that she makes her HIV diagnosis and her child trafficking past part of her activism. She makes public speeches where she seeks to inspire people by discussing that she's living with her illness. She gives that speech in that very same gymnasium, in fact.
There's actually a way to tell that Jason didn't do any particularly deep dive into Mia (not that such a thing would be beyond the norm in the DCU. I guarantee you Bruce or Oracle have been more invasive about her past, lbr). It's that he's approached her making certain assumptions of dubious accuracy, especially regarding Ollie, but also specifically about Mia.
One of such assumptions being that Mia has never killed, and would staunchly refuse to. Which we know for a fact is untrue, thanks to #39, where she judges it absolutely necessary and does it. Now, I personally believe she never wants to do it again, that she wants to stay on the path, but I could easily come up with a handful of ideas where she's pushed to a point where she judges it necessary again that could be quite interesting. But the point is that, if Jason had done a bat-level deep-dive into Mia's past with the purpose of digging up dark secrets to shame her, instead of just choosing to mess with the Arrows one weekend while he multitasked by making a point about sidekicking risks, he would've done a better job of it.
The other part of the context such a sentence willfully ignores is Jason's well-established abhorrance for sexual violence. In his Robin days we see him react strongly to every instance of it that crosses his path, from beating up a pimp who was attacking a sex worker (all while Jason is portrayed as reacting more viscerally than usual because Bruce is failing to stop a sadistic serial rapist and killer), to going like a man boy possessed after child pornographers, to how protective he was of Gloria and how that made him want to go after Felipe Garzonas, an obvious serial rapist with diplomatic immunity who pushed his victim to suicide. And of course, that time Winick made Jason's first murder target to be a child trafficker; an act that in Lost Days is portrayed as proof of Jason's capacity for empathy.
Now, I personally think Winick, notoriously unsubtle about subtext guy who loves writing about Bad Victims TM, was being... notoriously unsubtle when he wrote Jason and Mia's exchange about this topic. "You're a lot like me," says Jason. "I'm nothing like you," argues Mia, a character whose backstory Winick tweaked in a way that made it closer to Jason's (there was no homelessness, initially). "I'm a LOT like you," repeats Jason. "You don't know anything about me," says Mia. And Jason proceeds to list things that happened to Mia, including forced child prostitution among them, and repeats "I'm like you." What could Winick have been implying here, I wonder.
But even if you are adamantly against the idea that Jason could've been a CSA victim (something which wouldn't stop him from being a victim of other things, just so we're clear), compassion and empathy for victims of sexual violence is embedded into his character, including when he's written by the same man who wrote "Seeing Red.", and that should be taken into account when reading this issue. I've seen people baselessly arguing that Jason "mocked" Mia's sexual trauma, or "called her diseased", or like you say he was throwing this to her face to hurt her, and to me these showing not just lack of reading comprehension, but she'd light on how people can't help but perceive CSA victims. Merely stating someone had those things happened to them, merely conversing about sexual assault passes no judgement on its victims. Thinking otherwise speaks to a mentality that considering these "dirty" or "wrong" topics that should never be mentioned, which does more harm than good, as is specifically used against them. And of course, it goes against everything GA01 was trying to do with Mia's character, which was, very unsubtly as per Winick's M.O., opening a discussion.
As for the rest, Jason (not Older Guy as we've discussed) trying to take away her safe spaces... yeah. Jason is a villain here. His whole thing is deliberately, purposefully becoming The Bad Guy to effectively deal with the threats that are beyond heroes' purview (Outsiders' "Pay As You Go" arc my beloved). He does Bad Guy shit, it's the point. I also would make a distinction here (though arguably one that doesn't affect results) that Jason isn't so much trying to take away her safe spaces are showing there are no safe spaces for sidekicks. That this is Serious Business to be Taken Seriously. That it can kill you. And that mentors will fail you.
And while I think that Ollie wouldn't fail Mia the way Bruce failed Jason and that Jason is projecting his own issues into their dynamic, he has failed another sidekick, and he has put Mia at risk in other ways. For example, in her introductory arc in Teen Titans '03 (#21-23, IIRC), where Doctor Light targets the Titans in general and Mia specifically, as retaliation for Oliver's actions. This arc actually lead to supervillains blowing up their home, with their identity being outed to the worst of the worst among them. Being a sidekick is a huge risk, to the point where what Jason does hardly would qualify for Mia's top 10, 20, 30 worst days as one. Jason's purpose is to scare her and to test her (and yes, in his own messed up BUT WHOLLY GENRE-APPROPRIATE, to relate to her and advise her), and he does a good job of it. It's the whole point he's making. But at no point is he trying to break her, nor even comes in the vecinity of succeeding.
I want to get into the hero and villain thing for a moment, because it's often raised as The Biggest Issue Ever and completely ignores what genre we're in. Heroes and Villains cross sides all the time. They are convenient allies one day and sworn enemies the next. Bruce has worked with the freaking Joker. In this run, Oliver had put his trust in a reformed supervillain to handle his affairs after death. Also in this run Oliver is revealed to be part of a group of superheroes who took to violating the minds of criminals (including, for some inexplicable reason I'll try to figure out if I read the entire thing, freaking Catwoman). Why are people always acting like Jason is, by nature, more unforgivable than anyone else?
I mean, I know why: his very existence feels uncomfortably at odds with the comforting and less messy messages about good and evil in batman/dc comics, but we don't have to act like there's any measure of objectivity here. Jason, as a ~villain, is hardly one that would receive the unmovable condemnation of every other superheroe unless like the fandom they had reason to be invested in his former heroism as part of The Ideal batman comics are meant to tout, and Mia is just not on that list. Jason is just some guy to her at that point.
Okay, now about this aforementioned treasure trove of Jaymia fanfics you're... forcing yourself to read? For some reason? Because it's very obvious to me that your issue is with the pairing itself, and that you wouldn't be satisfied with any manner in which it was presented to you. You have an idea of the characters and their dynamic that I will never agree with, and that despite the differences among us, I'd assume the same would apply between you and the handful of other Jaymia shippers, both those I know and those I don't. Your view of them is incompatible with a romantic relationship; mine isn't. Just as I wouldn't be able to find, say, a Romanjay, or a Batjokes, or a Superwonder fic that'd meet my needs. Because I just don't like them.
I'm personally of the mind that in order for Mia not to be a prop, a writer should put in the work into her character. Merely because Jason has been far more solidly established as his own agent, while Mia, in canon, has been always second fiddle, if that. But to me, that would mean focusing on her and her troubles, testing her limits, making her face up to conflicts, showing her being messy before being triumphant (if I'm actually aiming for the latter. Stories don't have to be lessons). And I think to you that will always be making her "weak." And if Jason was portrayed as equally (though maybe not always, because back-and-forths don't work like that) messy or messier, your issue would be about Mia becoming his clutch and emotional cheerleader. You take issue with Mia being writing with focus on her attraction to him (when for me part of the appeal of any Mia ship would be having her enjoy being horny for another person), but I'm equally sure you'd take issue with the reversal and argue it's objectifying. And so on and so forth.
Mia is a strong and discerning person, and also someone allowed to have fallbacks and make questionable choices and, again, be messy. To me, that's part of the appeal of this ship and of practically every other Jason-hero combination, romantic or platonic: Jason, by just being himself, makes room for other people to be their less-than-perfect selves. I don't think that appeals to some of these heroes' ~fans because they don't want them to be messy in any significant way.
Mia also... is not someone who holds a grudge (GA '01 as a whole isn't in line with punitive justice), and if Jason did prove himself, which yeah, it's something I would write about, why wouldn't that be fertile ground for a closer relationship that eventually grew into something more? Mia is ALSO a character that doesn't fit fandom's ideal of a Good Victim, with appropriate crushes and clean and pure relationships and behaviours (which for Mia's character I find both laughably inaccurate and boring; like those lesbian headcanons that clearly just use my sexuality as a tool to handwave something they feel uncomfortable with by having her crush on appropriate girls. As if). Frankly, whether it ends up working out or being a bad idea from start to finish, I do not find the idea of her starting anything with Jason particularly out of the realm of possibility. She's not looking for normal or safe or tepid, that's the point of her Speedy arc.
Another thing to get out of the way immediately is, no, enemies are not abusers. Especially not in this context, ffs. One person hurting another because they're in opposite sides in this silly game of masks is not abusive, because abuse occurs in the context of relationship. Jason is her attacker, and one Mia wouldn't even rate higher than her average Tuesday. She's not a normie, she's a superhero. Context and genre matter a lot here. Now, if they did start a relationship, maybe by becoming allies and friends in the meantime, that would be something they'd have to move past, but it's hardly insurmountable, or fighting against a pattern of behaviour when they've met once.
And look, I see your argument about enemies to lovers thing, but a.) I'm sure by now I don't have to tell you what I think about the idea that Jason violated Mia in any way during this arc, and b.) in fic you can do whatever you want forever. Personally, I like the idea of Jason learning to deal with his various traumas in others ways. I also like the idea of maybe Mia attacking him as a starting point for something else, we were recently talking about this in the Jaymia server lmao.
And I have to say, I very much question that you couldn't find a story, in the seemingly numerous amount you've found, where he apologises to her or, actually more important, makes it up to her some other way ("I'm sorry" are just words, and if anything I think it's clear why anyone would want to write him helping her specifically as a way to make it up to her. And again, genre matters. These people put themselves in physical danger all the time, and they get hurt as a result. Of course shippy fics would take advantage of it). This is me being incredibly skeptical about that statement. But what I am sure of is that you would find things to nitpick about any kind of apology or "I owe you" moment you'd encounter for them, just like you'd find it about any way they were written. What you and others want is Jason to grovel and still go to hell no matter what, and that's just not something I'm interested in.
I am interested in a balanced kind of relationship between peers, which I don't just think possible but more accurate to how I view their characters. I want to put in the work in the ship. I just don't believe for a minute that anything I or anyone else could do with a pairing you dislike would satisfy you. Luckily, it's my standards I must meet.
look. I love me some ships that involve murder attempts (and outright murder when resurrection is a possibility) but jaymia is NOT one of them. be serious.
I mean, you don't have to listen to me. listen to her:

Some Runes readings and how to create Runes
Now that we're done with the meanings, let's talk about some Runes' extractions. I will talk about some if the traditional ways of reading them and then I will tell you my personal way of doing so: I really encourage you to find your own way once you're familiar with the traditional readings, because it will give you a better connection with the Runes and it will help you figure out what they want to say.
Before getting into the topic, I want to tell you something more about the meanings. Don't rely only on the "straight"/" Reversed " Meanings, but rely on what the Rune represents: what kind of success will you achieve? What kind of protection do you need? Some of them have basically the same meanings, but they are telling you something different. Let's have an example. ᛏ means "success", but the one achieved after fights and troubles, while ᛊ also means "success" but the one that a seed achieves thanks to the sun. That's what I mean.
One rune
Think about a question (it should be precise, it will make everything easier), then grab one Rune and gently throw it in front of you and see if it's straight or reversed. This is useful when in comes to a quick question like: how will be my day? Should I do this?
Basic oracle
After thinking about your question, grab a variable number of Runes and gently throw them in front of you. You will see some Runes facing upward and others downward: ignore those and concentrate only on the upward ones and if it's straight or reversed.
Nornir' oracle
It's very simple: throw three Runes sequentially:
The first one is the past and what we can't change (Urdh, the Norn of past)
The second one is the present situation (Verdandi, the Norn of present)
The third one is showing how will be the future looking at how the energies are shaping it rn (Skuld, the Norn of future)
If a Rune is facing downward, just turn it as you will do with a book's page. If you want more details, you can throw other Runes for an insight.
Oracle of the nine Runes
It goes in the same way as I will explain in the next paragraph, but there are some differences:
If a Rune is far away from the others/it's outside of your "mind scheme" ( I explain this in the next paragraph), it can be ignored or it can be more important than the others, it's your choice
The Runes near the centre are more important and personal, the others are more general
My way
Now let's see how I read them: as I said, it's a personal view and you can find it wrong, I'm not saying that this is the only correct way.
I have a scheme in my mind, depending on the question i'm asking:
If it's a question that needs an insight on the future, like "Should I go out with him/her?" Then I'm looking at the influence parts (past with influence, present with influence and so on); if the question is about me or someone I love, like "what's happening? Why am I feeling this way? What can I do?" Then I want to understand what's going on inside myself and if i'm conditioned by other people (inside/outside parts).
If a Rune is following one of the arrows, than it means that I should pay attention to it, but it depends on the shape of the extraction. Anyway usually I go for this:
Above the other Runes: this Rune is influencing the others/my path is leading in this way
Under the other Runes: this rune is kind of "bullied" by the others, I need to find more space in my life for it/ that's the origin of the problem.
Now the extraction. I don't do readings that much so when I do, I want a complete insight of the situation, so I go for 9 Runes. Think about your question, grab them and gently throw them in front of you. You will have some upright Runes which represent the present situation; leave the others for now cause they reprents the outcome. This is an example:
Now let's see where the Runes are pointing, leaving the unknown one for now.
We can see a lot of connection here:
ᛟ/ᛚ are pointing to each other
ᛜ is pointing at ᚺ
ᛗ is pointing at ᛏ
ᛏ is in the middle, so it's a central topic
Then we have three other possibilities:
ᛒ is watching over ᛜ,ᚺ,ᛚ
ᛒ and ᛉ represents two opposite aspects
ᛟ is watching over ᛜ,ᛚ,ᚺ (but I wouldn't say that, it's clear that it's connected to ᛚ)
I like the add a little more spice to the readings, this time nothing like that happened but let's just complete what can happen:
When two Runes form a cross touching each other, than they are opposite aspects of the same thing
When two or more Runes touch eachother without forming a cross, than they complete each other. They represent different aspects of the same thing and together they will give you a complete insight of it.
Let's give an example, with the question "how will this academic year go? Will I achieve my academic goals? Did I make the right choice?"
Let's start with ᛏ: success in every aspect, but after fights and struggle. It's reversed, so probably I will fail some exams and rn i'm struggling with studies or other things.
ᛟ/ᛚ᛬ Othala is reversed, so it means something like a loss of harmony in my family/clan, the loss of security that it gives. But we also have Laguz: there will be a growth, an hard one, but if we keep an eye on it should be fine. It can mean that probably my parents aren't happy with my academic choices, but this shouldn't affect what I decide because it's helping my growth: the water (Laguz) can be stirred sometimes and it can be difficult swimming through, but it will become placid again.
ᛜ/ᚺ᛬ Ingwaz is straight while Hagalaz us reversed, so we have the counterpart of Berkana and the destructive power of the hail. It can mean that we are definitely ready for a change (our college studies for example), but we should remember that changes never come without the destruction of something that was already here: we may face tests but it's what we have to do to become who we want to be.
ᛗ/ᛏ᛬ Mannaz pointing to Tiwaz is reminding us that it's ok to fail, that I am a human and this means that I have positive and negative qualities. I may be struggle and I may feel like shit for that, but i'm human and I'm not perfect, but I will get through it. Reversed means that I can't see a way out and that I have to rely on myself to find it.
ᛒ/ᛉ᛬ Berkana is straight, so we are talking about fertility. Algiz is reversed, so it's like a warning. Basically they can be saying that it's a time of personal growth and "mental fertility" as well so I did the right choice, but I shouldn't let my guard down and I remember to protect myself, both mentally and physically.
Now let's move to the future outcome:
(don't mind the position of the runes I just noticed that it's different, relay on the last pic sorry)
So the last one is ᛈ , and ᛜ/ᚺ is pointing at it.
Perth means "box", something in which you can put something else, but it's original meaning is unknown. If we take this, it can mean that our changes and our path, which we already see may be hard, once we got ok with that, it will lead to the knowledge of our faith. This means that it doesn't really matter what subjects we are studying, but the reason why we decided to do so: we can't know where this is leading but we will soon understand if it was the right choice or if we should completely change our path.
Sorry but I struggled a little with doing a reading for this question lmao, I really just grabbed nine runes without asking anything so I tried my best
How to make runes
I'm not gonna spend a lot of time on this topic, because everyone has a different way of making and preparing them.
You will see plenty of rituals on how to do so but they can be pretty difficult to do, especially if you don't have the time or possibility to be seen doing so. Here are some methods:
When I first approached to Runes I really didn't like the energy that the ones from the store had, so I made them in a quick way. I found 24 rocks, I washed them into a river with the intent of making them bond with life/reality (water is a symbol of life), then I went home and with a marker I wrote them on the rocks. Super quick and super simple. Then I slept with Them under my pillow for a week, to bond with them.
Use a little branch. Just cut it in little pieces and wrote the notes on it with a natural ink or if you can it, use a pyrography.
You can make them using the clay that you buy at a store. If you want to color Them, try using natural colors if you can.
You can buy them of course, but be careful with the energies that they have. I did find a store which has perfect runes, but I've been having mine for ages and I really don't feel like changing them.
Someday you will feel the need to cleanse them. This is what I do:
Full moon. Leave them outside for one night (I prefer on the ground, like dirt/rocks) and if they still need a cleanse or more energy, leave them for the day as well
Smoke cleanse/blowing air on them
If it's a material that goes in water, wash them
Pass them throw a flame for a fire cleanse
Then I sleep with them for some nights again, just to be sure.
And that's all for this beginner-friendly introduction to the Runes! There's still a whole world to say about them, but I will get into it in the future, for now here you can access to the whole grimoire I made and if you have any question, feel free to jump into my DMs or to make a question from my profile. I hope it helped you and that you got some interest in this amazing form of divination.
Blessed be 🌑

I don't want this to come off the wrong way. I'm glad we have the BLM matter and now the SAH movement, and everything it stands for and is trying to do. But why is there no movement for Hispanic/ Latinos. Our families are being torn apart too. Our children are being locked in cages, starved, missing. We're harassed and told to go back to our countries and deported. Our LGBTQ get killed. We have to deal with hate and racism too. We have even less reprentation on shows and media, etc. So what about us? Where's our movement?

how would you want daphne and simon’s arc in s2 to go? i wish they had more than cameos in the bridgerton books after the duke and i :(
Hey nonnie!!!
It's so hard for me to talk about my expectations or to speculate without mentioning the ending of the first season, ending that left a bad taste in my mouth. Not game of thrones bad taste in mouth level since l can talk about it ( lol), but it did leave me in the limbo and l hate that.
It feels like the writers forgot that simon’s father was a horrible person who only cared about having an heir for the Hastings dukedom. A man who didn’t love, abused and rejected his child because he had a defect. Because of that defect... defect he perceived as iredeemable, he deprived his son of what he needed most... his affection... They forgot that simon’s childhood trauma is what led him to vow he would never marry or have children so that the Hastings line would end with him. This was his father’s biggest fear, so for simon it was the only way he could get back at him. Simon was fully willing to let anthony kill him in order to not break his vow and save daphne’s honor.
Fast forward to what a few weeks later and everything is forgotten because daphne tells him that she loves him and that he deserves to be loved?!
As far as we the audience are concerned it was never about him believing that he didn’t deserve to be loved or him doubting daphne’s feelings but about him getting back at his father because of what he put him through when he was a child. And there has been no reason for us to believe that what daphne said to him was enough to make him change his mind. l mean the man chose death over marrying a woman he had feelings for, he was ready to DIE to keep that vow... The original source of his struggle had nothing to do with daphne but his childhood. l already mentioned this once or twice and my opinion hasn’t changed.THAT ENDING WAS RUSHED. There was so much more to tell before they give us that happy ending. That ending writing was literally all over the place. And nothing irks me more than character inconcistency and disjointed writing . 1 x08 is and will always be my least favorite episode because it’s really and l mean reallllly hard for me to believe that simon...This man,
went from l-vow-to-never-have-children-because-l-hate-my-father-and-l-d-rather-die-than-father-a-child- to-my-love-yesterday-l-didnt-want-children-but-today-l-m-happy-to-put-my-seed-into-you-my-love-lets-repopulate-this-earth-and-aww-father-the-pull-out-king-is-dead-so-you-won. All that in what ? a couple of days !!! Make it make sense !!Sorry nonnie character inconcistency drives me up the wall. l don’t believe that ending !!(This is the main reason l avoid writing bridgerton analysis/meta because l know myself crying emoji...) l needed to see more, l need to see more, don’t tell me show me, l need more plot development. Why not use flashbacks to show us the months before daphne gives birth, or the conversations they had before and after the baby was borned?! l need to see them talk their problems out and not fuck them out ( Ok, l do love seeing them fuck their problems out lmao but they need to talk after they’re done fucking).
They were friends before they were lovers so l want to see them smiling joking...give me saphne’s inside jokes. l know simon usually bottles his feelings up but l want to see him express them. l want to see him talk about his childhood. l want to know what he felt and how he’s feeling now, l want to see him talk about what daphne represents to him...his feelings for her. By his feelings l don’t mean “l burn for you” or “l can’t stay away from you” type of feelings. No, those feelings/quotes have a sexual connotation... l need him to express his feelings in a different way. l need to hear him say what she truly reprents to him...l need to hear him say l LOVE YOU. Daphne is married to simon and she doesn’t know if he loves her. l want a love confession, a big one with an l love . You asked me what l want l guess l want more emotional scenes .
Sorry this got long
Thanks for the ask nonnie!!

First sorry if I come as rude .
Technically speaking I don't care how people draw or write some bunch of fictional characters like it's fine if you want to make them dark , brown or white . Your art reprents you and your emotions thus a person with dark ( skin colour) background will obviously want to draw their art in that way because they have an emotionally attachment to it . I myself am a brown person and I love experimenting with my art by drawing them according to my culture it's just my imagination and self indulgence . Giving people hate to people for experimenting with their art is very low . And yes I know many of you white people are gonna hate me go ahead I don't care . But in real life whitewashing people is not something I support because it promotes toxicity like white supremacy and I personally feel offended how movies portrays black people as thugs mafias . Even roles given to black people are most of the time are of servants or a stupid person who is the butt of everyones joke . These are some of the toxicity I have seen in show biz industry which literally ruins the young mind and plants the seed of racism into their minds from initial stage. Because nowadays people are heavily influenced from media .
^^^^^^
Drawing back to Obey Me for a moment because I feel like no one has said this yet; It’s really weird that Mammon, the dark skinned character, is seen as the scapegoat for everyone’s problems in the HoL. How hes a thief.... and a scummy brother........ Like solmare give him good qualities too, but they overwhelm mammon, as a character, with everyone constantly dunking on him. sure he isnt the only black character, we have diavolo and we have simeon. but simeon, at times, can be a dick, and diavolo at best is nearly incompetent sometimes. again, they all have good things about them, but i always thought mammon’s situation to be.... weird. the only black dude in the HoL getting bodyslamed on a daily
oh and before i hit send on this, a lot of these weirdos being racist are probably mammon stans. yall are ugly af and mammon wouldnt want ur stinky asses <3

Eren, let me save you from Satan's grip.
[Black Swan, Flamoira AO3]
im honestly really happy how this turned out and i HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO DO,,
So basically red string is associated with love/fate so by tying the wings together with the red string, i wanted to show how it held Eren back from being a boyfriend Levi deserved and relating to Kuchel's words to fly free but his past kept holding him back. though his reprents Eren's inner turmoil i felt that it was unnecessary to add a knife somewhere in there bc it kinda ruined the initial aesthetics LOL

[image description: an sac webcomic page. lewis sits up, face scrunched up, with some pain, from his wrist and tailbone. jade hops over wraith, reaching towards lewis. wraith does not react to being stepped over, dealing with some arm pain of his own, theres little squiggles reprenting pain. his mouth looks slightly wrong, faintly pale purple and jagged. theres with jades hand reaching down, and in the background wraith pushes his upper body up with his good arm, looking directly at the two. his body has changed, his hair floating unrestrained by gravity, and the tips of his fingers now pointed: the fingers themselves not the nails, and are turning lilac, as is his face, his nose sunken in, eyes now wide and larger than a humans should be, with deep shadows around, and his mouth wide and jagged, the skin cracking apart into irregular points only loosely described as teeth. lewis pauses mid-getting up, kneeling and staring back wide eyes and terrified, holding hands with jade, who also stares over, slightly less terrified and a littl bit more ‘oh shit’. both backlit from the light from the street below, frozen.

Yesss thank you for bringing up the Sam Bucky queerbaiting like the moment they ended up on top of each other?
They knew absolutely what they were doing how it could be seen and that there was an audience out there that would love that indication that they were appealing to with that content. But of course its just to get their money and views and they never intend to follow through on that indication and loose their homophobic fans.
So ya absolute queer bait. Steve and Bucky never had moments like that. Ya they had dramatic maybe slightly cheesy heartfelt dialogue but thats not the same thing.
I so often see SteveBucky on the same list as Destiel or Johnlock for like examples of queerbaited couples and it seems like fans just see queerbaiting as any duo that could have had romantic potential that they liked and wasn't made canon. And like i get it you feel strongly for your otp.
But don't call it queerbaiting when its not. Especially next to those more insidious queerbaiting examples. That makes people think its a shipping thing rather than a minipulative marketing tactic that is often at the expense of minority group that craves representation.
There is that joke about straight girls being the ones who ship these gay ships and get salty about not seeing their favs make out. But there are alot of lgbt people who ( no suprise) gravitate towards these non straight ships too.
So many times ive seen teen girls get shit on for shipping gay ships calling it them fetishizing gay men just for having gay ships and later see that they were actually either not straight or not girls or both. They were just struggling with their sexuality not ready to come out and gravitated towards reprentations of things that were less heteronormative but wasn't associated exclusively with gay people.
And while im sure there were straight people out there who really wanted their gay otp to be canon its the young lgbt people who gonna get screwed over the most by this queerbaiting. They were young and hopeful and thought this mainstream thing they loved was validating them when it was really just leading them on for views. This isnt exclusive to lgbt people either.
Ive seen this happen with black characters too where the promise of them being important and relevant is used to draw in a black people get them watching to drive up viewership and then sideline them ( like say in Star Wars).
Its one thing if you want to put in representation and arent allowed to so you imply as much as possible. You see that often with childrens television for example. But this is almost the opposite of that. Its more insidious and often despite purposely baiting in show they will gaslight in interviews and say fans are reading too much into it. And sometimes there will later be evidence that baiting was discussed in the writers room.
Its all a huge dick move that people are complaining about and putting in say Stucky ,which didnt do that, on the same queerbaiting list of Johnlock or Destiel, which did, kinda makes that level of queerbaiting into just fan favorite gay ships that didn't become canon and people are salty.
Yeah, one of those ships is not like the others. There are a few video essays online about how queerbaiting was used to get fans while the creators simultaneously (for J/L, we all know what happened on 5 November) denied it would be canon. Steve and Bucky on the other hand haven’t been given the J/L treatment. Queerbaiting has to be on the J/L levels of insidious or the Betty and Veronica kissing in the trailer and going right into nowhere levels of baiting for views.
But Sam and Bucky. Is this why we don’t see Sam paired with anyone? Is Sam closeted?? Seriously, let’s run with this. What if Sam is closeted, because it’s hard enough to be a black man who is in the army, then a superhero who is an extremely public figure (because forget secret identities), who is then Captain America and probably the most famous person in the world, and here’s this guy who he wants to be friends with and also kind of prove his worth to, and he’s fun to mess around with, but fuck he’s kind of cute, with that face he makes when he’s messed with, and then you roll around in a field like that...
I would like to point out that in these past few years, we have collectively grown out of a time where m/m ships had a lot of fetishization in fandom. I don’t think we realize it, but I remember how much there used to be (and especially trans fetishization, I haven’t seen that in years when that used to be a huge thing). It’s nice that now we can see these characters as more human and less thing to get off to. And it does have a lot to do with LGBTQ+ fans given more of a voice in fandom. That being said, you can’t just say Steve and Bucky are queerbaited. The writers and directors have never once used that idea to sell you on their films. Their actors have never once played it up for the camera to mess with their fans. The only character that has that is Peggy. (Someone else remembers those being a thing with Agent Carter, right??) And in a time where Marvel is going to have canon queer relationships on-screen, we need to show support of them and stand for the characters who risk having their identities erased, especially when teams like the Young Avengers come around.
But also there is a lot of subtext to support that Sam could have a coming out narrative that I don’t think will ever happen, but would be a plot twist conclusion to the #givecapaboyfriend movement from way back. I mean, Sam has deliberately not been given a romantic story. This could be why. (But don’t hold out for it. Oh god, what if Sam and Bucky are the queerbaited ship??? Another plot twist.)

"That film had a happy ending. That's what makes good cinema" NO IT DOESN'T, the greatest films show reprentation of real life. "People seeing hearing experiencing things they'd rather not see hear or experience" And this is why Remus is sooooooo important. He was right, if we only see Roman's "butterflies and magic" how is that going to prepare people for the REAL WORLD?? If he does want to "explore more nature ideas in his content" then he has GOT to listen to Remus. And about the 🎶hey prude your art is bad.🎶 he's right in some ways about that too. An artist needs to challenge their audience in order for anyone to get anything from the work that they are creating. He's said it in AIO, WDWGOOBITM and LNTAO Thomas is dissatisfied about the work he creates because he isn't listening to his more ADULT ideas.
And yeaaaah Remus is important.

Hey! Idk if you have time or energy, but can you just briefly tell me what your main problems are with LO? I read the comic and enjoyed it, but I'm really curious about your point of view and why you hate it! (This is a legit ask, I'm not trying to be provocative)
Hello! Yeah, sure! Let me first start by saying that Ι don’t have anything against people who enjoy LO. I never attack the fans, I only those who are aggressive and come to my asks insulting me. I never condemn preferences. I understand how this comic can be enjoying.
Some of my issues are:
1) The art. There are some good panels in each episode but usually the art seems weird or simply bad to me. I draw/design myself and I understand how much effort comic panels can take. I don’t doubt that the panels of LO take effort to desing but at the same time I see much better artists on webtoons with much less recognition.
Persephone isn’t even the same shade of pink between episodes (without significant change in lighting)! Also the color of the gods doesn’t make sense, besides HxP contrasting. So, artistic-wise I don’t understand or like some choices.
2) Pacing. All those 105 episodes take place in TWO WEEKS? This is from episode 105:
I feel the story is dragging too much, thus, I can’t enjoy it or get attached to the characters and care. When I was in the 100th chapter I thought at least some months had passed till then, but I was mistaken. Still, it felt like an eternity (story-wise) to get there.
3) Environment/Timeline. Does it place on Olympus or on a place like Olympus or a place with the name “Olympus”, like a metaphor? If it takes place on the actual mt Olympus, is there a metropolitan city on the top of the mountain? If yes, why don’t Greeks, who live on the mountain on around it, know about this city as well? They would certainly see it.
What is the timeline even? I gather it’s a modern alternative reality where they dress modern but also have their ancient forms (with ancient clothes)? Did Greece even exist in this story’s timeline? (Probably yes, if they have ancient Greek style clothing BUT if Greece existed but the characters are not in Greece WHERE do characters live??)
4) The way the gods are presented. I never felt the characters are gods or inspired by gods. I mean they are presented like normal people, without a hint of grandeour. I don’t like it when I feel the gods could be my buddies. I get that the Greek gods have human flaws and characteristics but I don’t think they would feel like the man/woman next door. Lots of modern stories take the glory and magnificence out of the gods but they still want to present them as fearsome. I am sorry but a rich CEO will never scare me as much the Lord of the Underworld. If you changes Hades’ name to John nothing in the story would change. (As a friend added).
5) Characters. I don’t find them compelly, unfortunatelly. Persephone, the main character, feels bland and without agency. I get why she is like that but I need a more dynamic character. Plus, there is a huge power imbalance between her and Hades and it kinda makes me feel uncomfortable. The most interesting personality is Minthe. I feel bad saying that cause she is an abuser. (Finding her interesting doesn’t mean I endorse her actions, though).
6) The behavior of the artist. Some monts ago, when me and some other people started pointed out what was wrong with the comic, mainly the lack of anything Greek in there, she went on Twitter and vented, calling us haters. Like, don’t we and every other person have the right to criticize her work? Also, most of the time we didn’t say anything rude, and that’s why it was weird she reacted that way. In other #anti lo tagged posts you may find more about her immature behavior.
7) The behavior of a lot of fans. Many stans of LO, when seeing that someome dislikes LO, they straight up attack this person. Criticism is labeled as “negativity” and fans don’t want it near them. They don’t understand that you can enjoy something while keeping a critical mind.
8) Pathetic Greek representation (it’s nonexistent actually). Did you personally feel like you learned anything about Greece or how Greeks live or maybe some Greek customs? Because I saw nothing Greek in there. Granted, there are big cities in Greece (only two, though :P) and Greeks wear modern clothes and their phones are an extension of their hands. But there are small things Smythe could do to show the culture a little bit.
There is some decor she could have put to give some Greek-ness to the houses (I had this in another post) and she could make the characters wear a mati for protection, or a pomegranate for good luck or a small boat around their neck. She also lost the chance to make the parent gods call their childern 100 times and if they children don’t answer the first time, the parents think they are dead. :P Or the mothers who think their son is the most important person in the world. There are some small behaviors you can put in there to make the characters feel a little Greek. (Those behaviors are not Greek only but they can also be met in Greeks, so it would still be some reprentation).
She made a minimum effort to search some Greek stuff when she made Persephone bring some baklava to the Underworld and when she named Artemis’ cat Retsina. But still that doesn’t give much flavor to the story. For starters, baklava exists in Greece but it’s more of a middle eastern dish. I mean there are more representative Greek desserts. Also, no Greek has ever named their cat “Retsina” or “Ouzo” or other types of beverages :P That was a weird choice as well.
I don’t think that, despite her fame and influence, she has found a Greek person and ask them how can she put more Greek touches in her comic. I don’t find that weird. Many artists, who want to trasnfer the Greek gods in a modern setting, don’t even think of Greece (even if the gods are Greek in the first place) and don’t seek to put any elements from the original culture in.
Like, hellooooo we exiiiiist, we haven’t diiiiied, our culture is alive and weeeeeeeell 🤣
______________________________________________________________
There are some smaller issues, but those were the big ones for me. You can find the rest in the #anti lo tag. I don’t have a problem discussing about LO so send me more thoughts if you like.
Thanks for asking and sorry for taking some time to answer. Despite the lockdown, everything is online now and that means my responsibilities are not reduced :/

The Frozen franchise and how it’s important for children with mental illness and trauma (SPOILERS AHEAD)
When I was 10, the hit movie Frozen came out. I quickly became attached to it. Obviously I didn’t think much of it, just about every other girl my age was too. Now that I’m older I realize it was a connection to both Elsa and Anna and their circumstances. I’ve never quite been through what they went through. I’ve never lost a parent, I don’t have magic ice powers, but I’ve been an outsider. I’ve been seen as weird, awkward, different. And I isolate myself. A lot. I know what abandonment feels like, which is exactly what happens with Elsa and Anna. They represent two different types of reactions to trauma- pessimistic, isolated, sort of a “lone wolf” situation (Elsa) and the optimistic, open book, “I’m giving you what I never had” (Anna.)
All of her life, Anna had been abandoned by everyone she loved. When she was a kid, Elsa left her with no explanation. Then as she got older, she lost her parents. Then by the end of the movie she loses the man who she thought was the love of her life. Her coping mechanisms were talking to inanimate objects or characters such as the painting from Do You Want To Build A Snowman (Hang in there Joan!) along with childhood characters like Olaf, because it was the only connection she had to anyone she loved. This made her insecure in herself because she thought it was her fault she was alone. By Frozen 2 we can see this continuing to affect her, where she gets upset with Elsa for not telling her about the voice, having her promise that they do everything together in the forest, and her misinterpreting what Kristoff says (“You think we’re not right for each other?” “Different circumstances? You mean like with someone else?”) In addition to her self esteem issues, she sees herself as awkward and annoying (mostly in the first movie) because she was silly and no one was there to show her it’s okay to be silly.
Elsa, on the other hand, kept to herself from a very early age after the accident with Anna. She finds it hard to open up to others, because she’s been taught that she needs to be hidden for her safety, and no one ever taught her that it wasn’t true, as her only source to the outside world was her parents, who thought they were doing what was best for her. Throughout both movies Anna is constantly fighting to show her how crucial it is that she has people to open up to. She struggles to find her place but doesn’t talk about because she doesn’t want to let anyone down, especially Anna.
In Frozen 2, a big theme is about how it’s okay to not be okay. For example, when Elsa and Anna find out how their parents died and Anna tells Elsa “you are not responsible for their choices.” And! She! Says! Something! Else! That! Was! Crucial! To! This! Post! And! I! Can’t! Recall! It! Later, in the scene with Anna and Olaf on the boat, they discuss how Olaf’s anger is valid and I really don’t have anything else to say about that. I just wanted to throw that in their because it’s so important to teach kids it’s okay to be angry!!
The reprentation of Anna and Kristoff’s relationship and how healthy it is!! They both do their own thing but when they need each other they give each other their all and don’t invalidate each other!!! Kristoff doesn’t give Anna shit about her insecurities!! They communicate and solve their issues!!! I could go on forever but I’ll shut up now!!!
Kristoff’s song!! That’s it!!!!! That’s the paragraph!!!
In conclusion, I’ve gone way off topic but the Frozen movies are so important because it shows children how it’s okay to feel things and to not be okay and feel out of place and all the good stuff!! Thank you!! Sorry about this train wreck of a post!!!

The new - yorker painter and photographer Mickalene Thomas celebrates the beauty of the African - American women towards her art work. For that exhibition she interests herself with the Jet magazine created in 1951 by John H Johnson she read during her childhood in the house of her parents or of her aunt. Jet proposes advices about fashion, beauty, entertainment and also gives a help to Afro - Americans mannequins for being known in spite of the fact that the fashion shows are forbidden at this time for them. Jet wants to underline the beauty of the women belonging to the African - American middle class towards the Weekly Beauty where the magazine prints pictures of students, secretaries wearing swimming costumes showing their bodies and their wills. These pictures constituted an alternative to PlayBoy magazine who published only White women pictures until the end of the 1970's. For making her paintings Mickalene Thomas chooses only the most bold pictures in Jet and scans them after she pixels some anatomic details and introduce a brush work for the fun. Jet holds a chronic between 1955 and 1968 dealing with the Civil Rights Movment. The Mickalene Thomas art work doesn't forget that by answering to one of the Donald Trump tweets. In July 2019 he gave the order to four democrat reprentatives African - American women to go out of United - States forgeting clearly that these four women were born on the United - States territory.
