According to NBC here in the US, the missing titanic sub has been found. As debris. Off the bow of the Titanic wreckage.

And it looks like the sub suffered what we all suspected, and what was undoubtedly the more merciful of the two options: a catastrophic implosion from the pressure.

Also, more info has come to light about the fishing trawler with the hundreds of migrants that sank cataclysmically off the coast of Greece, indicating that the greek coast guard knew about the vessel AND how much trouble the vessel was in, and were towing it at a speed that made it capsize, at which point they unhooked the tow line and watched the trawler sink without helping the passengers to safety. Despite a bunch of other ships trying to help as well throughout the whole ordeal.

So a lot of people are dead, all because of regulations (and the lack thereof) regarding sea-faring vessels and rescue protocols. People shouldnt be allowed to make a business charging a ton of money for a ride on an uncertified, unsafe, un-seaworthy ship going deep into the ocean with no distress beacon or tether to the mothership. People also shouldnt be allowed to enact laws that criminalize the ferrying of refugees, which then force the refugees to hitch rides on fishing trawlers, and which also prevent people from helping those fishing trawlers full of refugees due to fear of legal consequences.

Hopefully BOTH of these events spark changes on an international scale in terms of what is legally allowed to be sailed, who is legally allowed to be the passengers, and what the rescue protocols are in the event of disaster for any seafaring vessel, illegal or not. It shouldnt be just the global 1% who get 24/7 search parties and remote-operated submersibles helping rescue them.

The 59 m (195 ft) long steamship Gunilda ran aground on the north side of Copper Island on McGarvey Shoal on 11 August 1911 and sank in northern Lake Superior after a failed salvage attempt.

A Grand Piano, for a Mother and her Daughter.

That's what I've been doing last week, instead of scheduling story posts 🤍 And yes, the picture above is a Northeney remake of the filmposter from The Piano (1993), totally inspired by a comment @treason-and-plot made on my story 😉

It is an edit of the Grand Piano from the Late Night EP and makes the stool legs separately recolourable from the piano itself. Anything different would not do for this lady currently in my game!

I had to learn a bit of Blender from scratch for this, and want to send big thank you's to @simlicious for helping out with my question marks! It feels really nice to get going again with cc-plans that were sitting on the shelves since my Milkshape trial ended. So I did some more Blender stuff the rest of the week.

But would you think this Mother is happy with her gift?

Now she can't hide behind "If I had ever learnt, I should have been a great proficient" any longer...

Whatever Twitch is doing in their spare time honestly isn't Ockham's business. If they want to flicker in and out of existence in Parabola who's Ockham to say they shouldn't. They're probably just going to do it even harder if Ockham tries to say anything.

I think @capn-twitchery might have a slightly different opinion on the question though.

today at work right before we closed i had a guy come up to me and try to debate with me that shipwrecks should be raised and preserved above the water because they're just rotting beneath the waves and we're losing so much history as if the water isnt the reason they preserve as well as they do half the time. things rot and decay no matter what we do with them we should leave them where they are going to be preserved the best with the least amount of money involved (ie create shipwreck/maritime sanctuaries and don't allow them to be disturbed).

Well I've reached success in finishing a very rough, quick telling of my Inklings story. This story really would benefit from more details than I've currently got written, but I simply don't have it in me to go that indepth. Not in a way that would do it justice currently.

One of the ways in which the story is messy is definitely my tenses. It's kind of mismatched at the moment. I go from explaining what's going to happen in the future to a more present tense of things happening right now, in probably a very passive voice. And a bit different from the first bit of story.

I'm not fully sure how I'm going to solve this, other than possibly trying to change the whole story to past tense. But I'm going to leave it for a couple of days before working on it again.

As the story stands at this moment, my story stands at 3266 words. Two thirds of this has been written in the last two days during the evening (for me) sprints. I have a feeling most of the editing/rewriting will take place during sprints as well.

I still think that I'm going to take the whole story and repost it as one story once it's cleaned up a bit. I just think that it'll make the most sense in the long run.
