NPC Reacts: You losing a your promise ring

Request: Open

Cai Xukun

Xukun was worried when he saw your apartment in such an unsightly condition. He would call out your name to make sure it was you who caused it. When he saw you throwing your pillows around the room screaming the words ‘where is it?”’ over and over, his worry left him. “Are you okay babe?”

You jumped in surprise and put on a fake smile, trying to not get caught. You lost your promise ring which Xukun had given you about six months ago. It was unique and you loved it which is why you couldn’t believe you had lost it, you wore it everyday. “Nothing!”

He let out a laugh. “Sure doesn’t sound like nothing.”

You’re smile fell and his worry arose once more. He quickly rushed over to you asking you what was wrong. “Xukun.. Im sorry…The ring. I lost it.”

After hearing those words he let out a sigh or relief. The ring was expensive but seeing your face filled with so much sadness made him far more scared. “That’s it?”

“Thats it? This is my ring! I lost it!”

“Awww, babe. It has to show up at some point right?” He asked pulling you into  a hug. Xukun then smiled and pulled up one of his sleeves. “Shall we start looking?”

Chen Linong

Linong felt worry when he saw that you cancelled your date. He was worried that he did something wrong so he paid you a visit to you house. He found you scanning your lawn which made him feel a little bad. You would rather be doing this than be on a date with him?  “Y/n?” He called out

You stood abruptly hiding your hand behind you back. You absolutely did not want to explain to him that the reason you cancelled your date was because you had lost the ring he had given you when you started dating. “Nongnong! What are you doing here?”

“I got worried when you cancelled…what are you doing?” He questioned as he took a step closer to you, only for you to take a step back. He raised an eyebrow in shock. He took another step, and you again, took one back. “Y/n, whats wrong with you? What did I do that you don’t even want to be near me?”

“What?” You dropped your hands when you heard his question. That made you feel more guilty than losing you ring. You bit your lip and lifted your hands to show a naked finger. You turned your heard in shame as you uttered the words, “I lost the ring.”

“Huh?” He questioned. He thought he had misheard. You cancelled because you lost the ring he had given you over a year ago? 

“The ring. I lost it. And I didn’t want to go on the date without it. I’m sorry I made you worry.” You rushed your words as you were slightly waiting for him to be mad at you for losing it. 

“Oh….” He sighed with relief filling his body. He looked at your cute sight and let out a chuckle. “Well, lets find it so we can go on our date. Yeah?”

Fan Chengcheng

Chengcheng was shocked when he saw you crying over the bathroom sink at one in the morning. His mind ran through so many thoughts but he asked if you were okay. 

“No….I lost it…”

Cheng sat up from his drowsiness, clearly worried about you. “Y/n, what’s wrong honey?”

“Your ring…I lost it…” A tear dropped from your eye. Cheng had bought you a ring about a month ago to celebrate your one year anniversary and you had already lost it. You lifted you hand to show him your empty finger. 

“Ayyyy, you had me so worried.” Cheng said as he squinted to your hand. He kicked his legs to get the blankets off and then he walked over to the bathroom with you. He grabbed your hand giving it another look. “The ring was ugly anyways-”

“No it wasn’t!” You snatched you hand out of his grasp and gave him a small glare. “It was perfect and beautiful, I love it. You’re just trying to make me feel better.”

He sighed with a smile on his lips. He lifted his hand and placed it on your head to ruffle your hair. “Ay, fine. Stop crying about it and come to bed. We can look for it in the morning.”

You nodded and he grabbed you hand and led you back to the bed with him, still happy on how you loved your ring. Once you had fallen back to sleep, he would wake up and search for your ring so you would’t be worried about it in the morning.

Justin

Justin would notice your ring missing one day but he didn’t question it,assuming that you had just decided to not wear it. But when he saw it happen when you guys were on a date he did ask about it. “Babe, where is your ring?”

You gulped slightly and hid away your finger as if he hadn’t seen it missing already. “Um..you can’t get mad okay…?”

He nodded waiting for you to say what he was thinking. He had always thought you hated it. He waited for the words to leave you mouth but it didn’t happen. 

“I lost it…”

“What?” Justin questioned, sounding a bit harsh which caught some attention from the people around you. You sighed trying to think of a way to explain to him how it had happened. 

“I was swimming and I took it off and I am absolutely sure that I had placed it in my bag but I can’t find it…” You told him. He sighed with anger in his tone which made you surprise. 

“Are you sure you didn’t do it on purpose? I know you hated it…” Justin said to you with his eyes narrowed on your face trying to read your reactions. 

“Are you kidding me? That was my favorite ring! Not because it was expensive, which is what I knew what you were going to say.” You snapped which made Justin shocked. You were never one to get angry over things which made his assumptions absolutely wrong. 

“I’m sorry.” He murmured which made you nod. You said it back to him as well. “You really did like it?”

“Of course, you gave it to me.”

A smile appeared on his face as he grabbed your hand and ran his thumb over your empty finger. “I can always get you another one..” He whispered but you didn’t catch it which made him smile even harder

Lin Yanjun

Yanjun walked into your shared apartment with pure shock as he watched you throw the couch pillow across the room. He placed his keys on the shelf and shrugged off his coat as he asked what was wrong. 

“Oh, babe…You’re home…” You sighed trying to catch your breath as the pillow was rather heavy. Curse Yanjun for having expensive taste. Especially for jewelry which isn’t a problem except for now. You had lost your ring he gave you years ago. It wasn’t the first time it happened  but this is the first time that you hadn’t been able to find it within a day of losing it. 

“You don’t sound to excited about that,” Yanjun laughed as he raised an eyebrow trying to take a gander at what was happening in his apartment. He had no clue but he could tell it was something important to you. “Did you loose something or…?”

“Uh…I didn’t want to tell you but I lost my ring…” You murmured in shame as you felt horrible. You loved your ring which is why your looking in every nook and cranny for it but your search was getting you no where. 

“The very expensive promise ring? Put-a-huge-dent-in-my-pocket ring?” He asked with a smile but when he saw the color drain off of your face, he could tell that you didn’t think it was as funny.  “Hey, I was joking. It’s not that big of a deal, I mean its like three years old anyways…”

“That doesn’t make it okay. I lost the first ring you ever gave me! I loved that ring almost as much as I love you…”You pout as you heard your boyfriend let out a chuckle making you roll your eyes. 

“Well let’s find your little ring!

Zhu Zhengting

Your ring was so beautiful to you which is why you couldn’t believe that you had lost it. You searched any and everywhere possible to find it.  Yet, you had no luck. You also had no choice but to confess to your boyfriend about the lost ring. This worried you more because he seemed more in love with it than your were, which is saying a lot. You bit your lip as you waited for you long-term boyfriend to open the door.  

The door revealed a smiling Ting which almost made all you worries fade in an instant but it soon broke your heart when you realized you had to break it to him about the ring. He let you in and placed a kiss on your cheek as you talked past him. “Zhengting…I have to confess something…”

“Are you cheating on me?” His smile fell and confusion grew largely on your face as you hadn’t meant for it too sound like that.

“No, no. Um….,” You mumbled as you diverted you eyes in order to find the courage to tell him. “Actually, I lost…I lost my ring…”

“Your ring? You lost it?” He asked as his eyes immediately went to your hand trying to see you naked finger. He sighed as he mind was trying to react to the news. “What happened? This was a very expensive ring..”

“I know… I have looked everywhere for it… I don’t know where it could be..” You told him as you lifted your hand to caress his face. “Babe, I’m so sorry.”

“Ah, it’s fine. Things like this happen all the time.” He told you not wanting to make a big deal about this because he knew that it wouldn’t help anything. He put a small smile on his lips as he pulled you into the kiss, it was just a ring after all. “Some things are found when you don’t search for them, so let’s forget it for now and enjoy our time together, yeah?”

Wang Ziyi

You woke up frantically and began tearing Ziyi’s room apart which made him also wake up in a frantic state. He drowsily asked you what was wrong with worry filling his voice as his mind went straight to the endless possibilities that could be happening. 

“My ring!” You yelled as you were throwing the laundry out of the basket in search for your ring. You always took it off before you went to bed because you didn’t want to ruin it but when you woke up it wasn’t  placed on your necklace chain like it usually is. 

Your answer made Ziyi sit up and try to understand what you were talking about. He caught on when he saw you scanning the ground closely. “You had it on lst night…”

“I know! I can’t find it…Im gonna cry…” You whined as you fell to the ground in a sad state. You loved your ring and it made you feel so incomplete without having it with you. Ziyi let out a small breath before walking over to you. He rubbed your back to help soothe you down from your emotions right now. 

“Babe, I can get you a new-”

“I don’t want a new one.” You cut him off. You turned and looked at him from you spot on the ground. “I want my ring. My precious ring which is supposed to be placed on my necklace and it isn’t…”

“We can find it but lets eat first. It will help our brains start up and make a better search for us.” he laughed which made you smile. You were pretty hungry since you skipped dinner last night to go help your friend with moving in. 

“Ah! What if-”

“Let’s eat first!” Ziyi cut you off with another laugh not wanting you to overthink anything or get your hopes up.

Xiao Gui

Xiao Gui was sitting in the studio as he worked. He was pleasantly surprised when he saw that you were calling him. He answered with a smile and a simple hello. “Hey, Gui. Do you think you could drop by after your session?”

“Yeah, no problem babe.” He said . You both said your goodbyes quickly. As time went on he was so curious as to what was the reason behind your call, why did you want him to come over? His mind was all over the place which made him end work a bit earlier than usual. He packed his things into a back of an taxi and went over to your place.

He entered your place with a simple call of your name but he realized he didn’t need to do that since you were already sitting on the couch waiting for him which made him a bit nervous. “Hey babe, what’s up?’

You twiddled with your fingers as you avoided eye contact with Xiao Gui until you built up the nerves to finally say it. “I’m so sorry Gui, I lost the ring you gave me.”

“The ring?” He asked as he thought back on the expensive ring he bought you a couple of months ago. “You lost it?”

You nodded shamefully feeling awful about it. You watched his face as he looked sad, just as you expected. You waited for him to say something, anything really. “Was it because it was too small?”

Xiao Gui had always been worried that the ring was more of his taste than yours but that wasn’t the case at all. You loved your ring and its chic allure. “No, no. I love my ring. It was just an accident. I have no idea where it is and I have looked everywhere for it but I just can’t find it anywhere. I’m sorry.”

Xiao Gui nodded feeling a bit relieved that it wasn’t the ring that made you want to get rid of it. “What me to help you look?”

“Yes! Would you?” You gushed feeling happy that you could get some help looking for such a small ring that could be hiding anywhere.

“Sure thing babe.” He smiled as he was glad that you genuinely love the ring he got you.

You Zhangjing

“Ay…” He let out waving off the statement you had just told him. “This is just a scam for me to get you a new one isn’t it?”

“What?” You asked as you looked through you laundry. “How could you possibly think that? I love my ring, you buffoon!”

“Hey! You’re the one who lost it! I mean yeah it was small but it was expensive you know!” He said as he searched the bed for the small band. Your ring was a band filled with yours and Zhangjing’s favorite jewels, which is what made it so special to you. You were growing axious not liking the outcome of your search. 

“Oh, baby I can always get you another-”

“Don’t finish that sentence Jing. You can’t disrespect my ring like that.” You cut him off which made him huff slightly. 

“I mean, it was ugly-” You threw a pillow at him to stop him from insulting your ring even further. “Hey! What was that for?!?!”

“Don’t call my ring ugly, that’s a representation of your undying love for me.” You told him with a matter-or-fact tone.

“You’re the one who lost it so that shows how much you really care about my undying love, huh?” He joked as he searched the jewelry boxes. Another pillow hit him in the back of his head and he turned to see you pouting. He let out a sigh. “I was joking, gosh! We’ll find the ring and then melt down into your hand so you can’t loose it again!”

“I’m not going to loose it again!” You defended as you went back to searching.

OH MY GOD YESSSSSSSSSS.

I am SO PLEASED, I cannot even tell you. Both that someone's watching this and also that I SUCCESSFULLY PITCHED SOMETHING, WOW.

First off, it's important you know that ep 1 is not the only one in which Zhou Shen sings in 3 languages in one episode, and it's not even the same three languages. Because sure, why not, that's easy. Thanks to this show I live my life as a Zhou Shen fan first and person second. Anyway.

Secondly, everyone in this show is a fucking clown, wait until a) Zhou Shen and Li Keqin get comfortable enough with each other to start going full pit comedy duo, and b) you get to B group (in ep 3) and Zhou Huajian fully coming for everyone's careers (including his own) all the time. But all the senior singers are 100% just going "I definitely listened to their songs while growing up when I was a child because they're definitely so much older than me" literally every minute, and it's hilarious. Especially when the junior singers accidentally fall into doing it accidentally, and also especially when they start to learn. There's an episode where Xiao Zhan is talking about a song he and his senior singer did that was originated by said senior singer, and he goes, "When I first heard this song........when I was a teenager," because he's learned, he can't say he was a child, he knows better, and everyone just cracks up.

Ren Xianqi is fantastically hilarious in that episode, though I also want to call out Liu Yuning standing up and bowing in thanks when Wang Linkai doesn't press the button. And Zhou Shen saying "I think I prefer Ren Xianqi-laoshi" when asked who he wants to sing with.

CLOWNS, all of them. Honestly, the best thing about this show is that everyone on it is both an amazing singer and an absolutely ridiculous person. Wait until you get to when they start showing some of the team-building exercises.

Alright, for this, I’d imagine that Kun was attending your graduation (high school or university, whichever you’d like) and when it was finally your turn to go up and take your paper/medal/diploma, etc; Kun would instantly smile, pointing at you/wave at you when you turn around to face the audience. I would also feel that Kun would brag about you to the people around him (if it’s your parents then he’ll be like ‘she’s so amazing’).

OMO LOOK HOW SOFT NONGNONG IS WITH THAT CAT!! I DIE

Alright!! For this one, I feel that you guys are roommates and were heading back when you guys noticed this cat that doesn’t look alright. Nongnong (being the animal lover he is) would go over to the cat and pet it. When Nongnong said that the cat seems to be sick, he would suggest to bring it to the vet; which you agreed, without question.

After getting checked, the vet gave Nongnong a prescription and Nongnong just held the cat in his arms, soothing it and telling it that it’ll be alright. Upon the sight, you just can’t help but die of cuteness and just had to take a picture of him.

“Don’t worry lil guy, I got you. You’re going to be just fine!!” *insert is uwu smile*

Fan Chengcheng

Alright, alright, for this pic of Chengcheng, I feel that he was bored at home and was like “Hey!! (Y/N)!! Let’s go out!! I’m bored” and since you were also just being a couch potato (mind you, a hot couch potato), you were like “ehhh, I don’t see why not”. Especially when Chengcheng is the one picking you up and dropping you back.

So, the two of you went out the whole day. Had brunch together then went to the mall to do some window shopping/actual shopping, whichever one you are. Afterwards, you guys just decided to walk along the streets for a bit before going back home. Along the way, it started to snow and you were mesmerised by it and didn’t noticed that Chengcheng was staring until you turned around to see him (cue the pic).

“Isn’t it pretty Cheng?”

Anyways, I imagine that you guys were just hanging out since it was finally winter break. So, Justin decided to celebrate your winter break by inviting you to join him for a little outing. Like, he’s so full of energy, he wants to go out and just move!! So, the two of you were now walking along the park when you started to feel tired from all the walking and decided to take a break by just sitting down on a bench, looking at the beautiful scenery in front of you. When Justin decided to sit next to you and look at you and you were a bit taken aback when he gave you that face (the picture).

“Wh-what are you looking at?”

“You. I never noticed how much your eyes are glowing. It’s pretty. And not to mention your smile. It’s just contagious. I hope that you would smile often from now on”

Lin Yanjun

Alright, I have no idea why she chose this pic of Yanjun. Clearly, you wanted to kill me huh, Aliya? Anyways, we’ll see what scenario I got

For this specific pic, since my dear friend wanted the boys to either be your guy friend/boyfriend, this is what I came up with. You and Yanjun were childhood friends; with Yanjun being like 4-5 years older and was the heir to a company which you decided to apply for. Of course, you still had to go through interviews and everything; Yanjun believes that you can never take the easy way out. 

However, the difference between you and your co-workers is that Yanjun would always asks you about your job at the end of the day which he knows that you worked hard since he heard it from your supervisor. Working under Yanjun was tough but he would never give you work that he knows you can’t handle and every now and then he would definitely treat you by taking you to your favourite restaurants/cafes at the weekend.

You have been working so hard and slowly climbed your way and was now Yanjun’s secretary. However, there were definitely some workers that were jealous of that. They’d be like “how can she become his secretary?” “just look at her! She doesn’t even look that good” and many more. But, it never really bothered you since you knew that dealing with those people are just a waste of your time and childish.

Unfortunately, it didn’t last long. Sure, you tried your best to not care. But when those people started being physical, it was just too hard to handle. You were constantly dozing away and easily distracted that Yanjun himself became worried. He would asked you every now and then but you didn’t tell him, you didn’t want to bother him since he was basically “shouldering” your expenses.

But fear not!! One day, he finally caught the workers red-handed. You were just about to get lunch for both you and Yanjun when the elevator didn’t work and so, you took the stairs. However, those jealous workers caught you, some of them purposely bumped into you, making the food you brought fall onto yourself. But little did they know that Yanjun was passing by since he forgot to handover a document to his management team. At first, Yanjun was already ready to come in and fight. But when he saw that it was you, he didn’t hesitate one bit. He shouted at the workers, scaring them and you.

To say that the workers were scared was an understatement. Nope, they were petrified at this point. Yanjun was walking down the stairs, hands in his pockets and his gaze, colder than ever. He went to your side, asking you if you were alright but all you could do was let out a little hiccup. Noticing your state, Yanjun pulled you into a hug, looking back at the workers and told them that he’ll deal with them later and he hope that they have cleaned their belongings from the office.

“OI!! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!”

“Sshhh, are you alright? Is this why you’ve been dozing off lately?”

“J-jun...”

“ *sigh* I’ll deal with all of you later. Oh, and I hope that by the time I call you to my office, all of your belongings are packed”

“Is alright, I got you (Y/N). Please tell me the next time this happens”

“B-but...you just fired them?” 

“(Y/N)...you’re too sweet sometimes, you know that? I hope you know that things like this shouldn’t be taken lightly. I care about you, you know. Now c’mon, let’s get you cleaned up and I’ll order some food for us, your favourites, kay?”

Mama Ting holding a big fluffy panda?! Welp, time to fly over to visit him (JK)

So, I feel that the two of you were hanging out all day, just a normal day of at your place, cooking, baking and watching TV shows/films all day when suddenly, the sun finally sets and it was night time. Since the both of you were too tired to cook, Zhengting suggested you guys have dinner at a nearby restaurant which of course, in the end, mama Ting paid for everything.

Whilst walking you back home, you both saw this place with a claw machine and you just so happen to see a huge panda in there. Determined to get it, you spent quite a pretty penny on it but failed to grabbed it. However, mama Ting decided to step in and get the doll for you. Which he finally did, after 7 tries.

“Th-the panda...Let me have the panda...please!!”

“Step aside (Y/N), I’ll get it for you!!”

“OMO!! TING!! YOU GOT IT!!”

“I GOT IT!!! Uhh, can I cuddle with it until we reached your home?”

“Is alright, since you got it, it should be yours”

“Eh?! Really?! I’M GOING TO GET TWO NEXT TIME!!”

Wang Ziyi

Can I say, Ziyi, multitasking to a new level man!!

So, for this pic, I thought that it’s been a while since you and Ziyi went out to grab a bite or catch up because he was very busy. However, since it was your birthday, he really didn’t want to cancel anymore plans. So, instead! He just cancelled meetings and all but he still brought a few work with him; works that he can easily finish in a short amount of time. Though he would apologise first-hand that he still had some unfinished business to take care of before you even got a chance to ask him.

“I’m really sorry that I had to bring some work with me today, (Y/N)”

“It’s fine Ziyi. I’m just happy that you even had the time to take me out”

“It’s your birthday. I wouldn’t miss it for anything else. Even though I’m technically somewhat working right now”

“I said it’s fine Ziyi. I’m happy that you’re here to spend the day with me”

“Aishh, you’re too nice (Y/N). Eh, eat up, the food will get cold! I just need to sign a few of these then I’m all yours for the day :)”

It’s been a while since I saw a soft Gui but hey!! I aint complaining!!

So, this is another slightly hard scenario to think of. But, here goes nothing. So, I imagine that you guys decided to have a date night since it has been a while you guys had like an actual proper date night. HECK!! its really cute that the poor boy processes his thoughts by sharing them with you, so you learn to love it and get used to the constant dinging of your phone

also the deep talks kind of boyfriend

you would be the couple that knew each other better than you knew yourselves

late, late nights curled up in bed with some lo-fi music playing while you exchange ghost stories and traumatic events from your past

or other times you have dumbass conversations like brushing your teeth is the only time you clean your skeleton or is water really wet

and sometimes these lead to ‘arguments’ where you both laugh until you can’t breathe and someone’s banging on the wall telling you to shut up

also watching conspiracies and true crime documentaries all the time and thinking the two of you will be the ones to finally solve them

linkai also makes you laugh a lot - he would always know exactly what to say at every opportunity he got to make you laugh

and his jokes would be so ridiculously stupid that they would be fucking hilarious

like he sees a pigeon on the ground and says “why is there a turkey in the street?”

and you have to stop so you can breathe again. and the whole time he’s just standing there with a small smile like “y/n, why are you laughing, seriously why is that turkey in the road.”

it’s literally never a dull moment

i also think you and linkai would be that couple that has your own little group of friends and keep to yourself and you never have any super big problems

i don't think linkai would get jealous easy - possessive might be a different story, but never without reason

and he also wouldn’t be the worrying type of boyfriend. you’re not his kid; he doesn’t feel the need to nag at you to sleep, eat etc unless something is visibly wrong with you

and when something is wrong with you it would really hurt him

he cares so deeply for the people around him and those that he loves that seeing you not being happy and smiling would break his heart

and he would do just about anything you want to make it better.

the very first thing he would say when he saw you were upset was “tell me what i can do.” and he would do it every time, whether it’s ‘go away’ or ‘please just stay with me’ without a single complaint

and i also don’t think he’s super cuddly, but he’s always touching you in some way. it’s just smothering you with affection

like holding your hand or putting his hand at the small of your back, holding onto your thigh

just little things to remind himself that you’re there

fights with linkai would be few and far between

but i think when they happened, they’d be rough

linkai is the type to start ignoring you and be too stubborn to stop until you’re both half crazy from missing each other

he doesn’t forgive easily. he may love you, but i think he can be kind of sensitive when it comes to what the people he loves say to him or about him. if you hurt him in some way, he might hold onto it forever without really meaning too.

and fighting with you would kill him - if something happened between you two he’d lose his appetite and have trouble sleeping

because he keeps his close circle very small, and you knowing him more than anyone, he would be terrified of losing you and potentially never finding someone like you ever again

and these are things that would make the healing period after a fight a bit longer than for most people. he’d need you to reassure him that you’re really not mad anymore and that you still love him and won’t leave

and he would never really give you a reason to leave

When Yanjun found out that you had a crush on Xukun, he felt jealous. It gave him more of a reason to try and woo you. Yanjun wasn’t someone to give up but he wasn’t going to make you uncomfortable either. He made it his goal to make you fall for him, no matter how long it took.

Zhu Zhengting

Zhengting was living in his own fantasy thinking that you had a crush on him he was waiting for the right moment to confess but when you told him you had a crush on Xiao Gui he was taken back. When Zhengting caught you being a stuttering mess in front of Xiao Gui, he knew that he couldn’t make you look at him the way you look at him. Even though it hurt him to do so, he decided to give up on you, He wanted to support you the way that a friend should

Ziyi had his crush very hidden, nobody knew about it. He would be texting you about love one day, trying to find some other points of view for a rap he was writing which lead into the way you told him you like Zhengting. Ziyi read the text over and over again,  he could tell that you couldn’t properly convey your true feelings through the text because you had a lot more to say. Ziyi smiled at the screen. Of course, he liked you but seeing you happy made him happy too, he wanted to ignore his feeling and help you.

You and Xiao Gui were practically best friends. He spent most of time off with you because he just loved to be around you no matter what it was. His feelings were so pure, he held his tongue from confessing to you on numerous occasions. When you told him that you had a huge crush on Chengcheng, he was totally numb. Xiao Gui never expected to hear that, he wouldn’t know how to react so he kept quiet about it around you but back at the dorm he would be an emotional mess, he would snap over the smallest things.

Xiao Gui had just come out of his class when he saw the new transfer student. Usually, he never bothered to care about the new transfers as they were always scared of him. But he just couldn’t ignore this one.

The girl was crying after all. He didn’t know what compelled him to go up to her. Normally he wouldn’t care. But seeing her cry made him sad.

“Hey are you okay?” Xiao Gui asked the girl. The girl looked up at him. Xiao Gui was surprised to see how cute she was. The rumors were true. She was incredibly cute and small.

The girl recognized him. It was him. Wang Linkai. The boy who never showed up to school. The boy who had girls falling to his feet. Rumors say that he was a heartless jerk who loved mischief. Rumors said that he was a gangster who killed people for a living. But the girl wasn’t one to listen to rumors.

“I fell down the stairs and hurt my leg.” She said softly. Xiao Gui quickly looked down toward her leg. She was bleeding and it didn’t seem like she could stand on it. He quickly lifted her up, princess style. Miu looked at him, confused.

“I’ll take you to the infirmary. I don’t think you could walk.” He said. Miu nodded.

“Alright that should do it. You lightly sprained it so you shouldn’t be walking around too much. I got you some ointment for your scratches. You can go home now.” The nurse said. Miu thanked her before looking toward Xiao Gui who refused to leave.

“Thank you.” She said softly. Xiao Gui looked up and smiled at her.

“You’re welcome. C’mon, I’ll take you home.” He said as he helped her up.

“I’m gonna carry you again.” He said as he noticed how hard it was for her to stand. Miu blushed.

“Thank you.” She said once again. Xiao Gui just smiled at her.

“I didn’t catch your name.” He said.

“Song Miu. You’re Wang Linkai.” She said. Xiao Gui looked down at her.

“You know me? And you’re not scared? Most people would be scared because of the rumors.” Xiao Gui said.

“Why would I be scared? Rumors are just rumors. I don’t think they’re true. Especially not if you just helped me.” Miu said. Xiao Gui smiled.

After that day, Xiao Gui began to show up to school more and more often just to hang out with her. They became best friends and soon he introduced her to his Gramarie brothers and told her about his dreams of being a rapper. She introduced him to her sister and told him about her dream of being a singer.

“Wahhh Xiao Gui!” The Nine Percent boys went wild.

“I never knew you were such a softie.” Justin said.

“Alright now Xingjie ge, what’s your girlfriend like?” Yanjun asked. Xiao Gui smirked.

“Can I answer that?” He asked. Xingjie nodded.

“That girl is what Antarctica is like as a person. She’s cold, blunt and reserved. The complete opposite of Miu. Which is why Jie Ge likes her so much.” Xiao Gui said. The boys looked at Xingjie, confused.

“You’ll have to meet her to understand.” Xingjie said.

“Too bad she’s flying off to Japan tomorrow. ” Yanchen said as he came into the room.

“When did you come back?” Yankai asked.

“Five minutes ago. While you were telling the story of Xiao Gui and Miu.” Yanchen said.

“Miu says she’s coming in a little bit. Practice ended early.” Xiao Gui said as he got a text from her.

The boys couldn’t believe how much Xiao Gui changed around Miu. He was calm and quiet. He wasn’t childish like how Nine Percent knew him to be. He didn’t scream randomly or rap randomly either. They didn’t know if they liked this new Xiao Gui.

“Sup Ari.” Xiao Gui greeted his friend when he heard Xingjie answer the phone.

“Sup Linkai.” The girl said.

“Hey babe.” Xingjie said with a smile.

“Hey Hey.” She said simply. Soon Xingjie retreated back to his own room for privacy.

“Where is Jie-ge?” Justin asked.

“Talking to his girlfriend. He would be with her right now but you guys are here and Gui is back so she made him stay.” Yanchen said.

Soon Xingjie came back out to the living room. He looked kind of sad but overall happy.

“She had to leave?” Xiao Gui guessed.

“Her flight is at 2am. I made her go rest.” Xingjie said.

“Also she said to tell you to take care of Miu since she’s still sick. And that both of y’all need to rest right now.” Xingjie said. Xiao Gui nodded and pulled Miu to his room.

“He listens to her? Can we keep her too?” ChengCheng asked.

“I don’t think you guys will be able to handle her. She’s not nice like Miu.” Yankai said. Xingjie smirked.

“Are you still scared of Aria?” Xingjie asked. Yankai nodded.

“Who isn’t? Even Xiao Gui is scared of her.” Yankai said. Xingjie laughed.

“We’re gonna go outside and have Korean bbq in the backyard.” Yanchen said as he and Xingjie began to wash the vegetables.

“How come Xiao Gui isn’t as loud around Miu?” Ziyi asked.

“Miu has always been a quiet girl. She wasn’t always scared of loud noises though. She enjoyed how loud he was. But then an incident happened and it traumatized her. So now he tries to keep quiet around her. But once in a while, he’ll be loud around her. Because Miu will ask him to freestyle rap.” Yankai said.

“Is it okay if we went into Xiao Gui’s room? They’re an interesting couple.” ZhengTing asked. Yankai nodded and led them there.

You and Linkai had know each other for a while.

You met when you were young, became friends.

Like you know those two hella annoying kids that are best friends, that was you two.

Yet, it didn’t last long, after about four years one of your parents got a new job, causing you to have to move.

You had managed to keep in contact with Linkai until about a year ago.

He just stopped replying to you, you know around the time The Rap of China started.

It wasn’t that he was ignoring you, he just was a bit too preoccupied to pay attention to his phone.

You just assumed he no longer wanted to be your friend, since like why else would be ignore all your texts.

Once he was done with that, he started replying to you, coming up with some excuse about how he was on a trip without a phone.

You accepted it and you started talking again.

Yet, he soon quit replying to you, just a few months later.

And once again, without explanation, he just stopped replying.

You took that as a final goodbye, since why else would he stop replying to you again.

You just pushed him out of your mind, trying to forget about him, focusing on what mattered, your life.

It wasn’t until you were watching a show called Idol Producer, that you remembered him, since there was someone on there that looked just like him.

Little did you know just how wrong you were.

Honestly, it was kinda odd for you to watch this show that had someone that sorta looked like someone you knew on it.

You honestly found yourself supporting him for some reason, maybe it was just that he reminding you of Linkai, yet you aren’t sure.

While the show as airing, your parent got transferred back again.

To see the surprise on your old neighbor’s face when they realized it was you all once again, was honestly amazing.

Yet, when Linkai’s mom told you he wasn’t there and she didn’t know when he’d be back, that’s when your idea of you two still being friends finally died.

Despite that, you became close to his mom as you once were.

She honestly might as well had been your mom with how close you were to her.

After moving back, you just sorta stopped watching the show, being too busy to watch it.

A few weeks later, Linkai replied to your like five month old text, using the same excuse he used before, and you were like ‘yeah sure’.

You then left him on read, being petty like you are.

You carried on with your day as normal, not even bothering to read his future text, as he told you he was excited to be going home, especially since his mom told him they had a new neighbor moving in and because of the good news.

Honestly, you should have checked those text, but you didn’t, being petty, you know.

He had assumed his mom would probably had told you that he was on Idol Producer, but she didn’t, assuming he had told you.

Literally imagine your shock as he enters his house, his mom yelling my baby or something along those lines, and you see the guy that you vaguely remember supporting on Idol Producer before you quit watching it.

And imagine his shock seeing this beautiful person sitting at his kitchen table, having been conversing with his mother only moment before.

He honestly didn’t recognize you, mostly since he hadn’t really seen any photos of you since you two were like eight.

He was honestly shocked when his mom was like “Yeah, their mom/dad got transferred back, it’s your old best friend”.

You hated it admit it, but you found yourself falling in love with your best friend, and he found himself falling in love with you.

No longer were two just children.

He actually kept in contact with you this time, since he no longer had a phone ban, you know.

Through him, you found yourself somewhat friending some of the other members of Nine Percent, since Linkai created a gc and added you and then was like “Guys meet my best friend.” and also said some other embarrassing stuff before saying embarrassing stuff about his members and since you all knew each others embarrassing moments you just have to become friends.

Honestly, Xukun is the leader of the Linkai and you fanclub, it consist of him, Zhengting, Ziyi, and Linong.

Everyone else can tell you two like each other, except the two of you.

Xukun probably starts a group chat called ‘get Linkai and you together’ or something like that.

You and Linkai pretty much only have your phones as a way to talk since he’s so busy with all the Nine Percent stuff.

Yet Xukun and the others plan this event so that you can come meet them.

They claim it’s an event, but it’s really a date.

Once they come back to China, they put their plan in action.

Xukun would tell you to dress really nice since you’ll all be going out, he would also tell you the party name so that you can get to the table.

You’ll come to the place they told you to go, and it’s some fancy restaurant.

Once you tell them the party name that Xukun told you, you are lead back to some private booth in the back, and no one else is there.

After about five minutes of waiting, finally Linkai comes.

You both are surprised that the other eight aren’t there, so you text them.

All of them cancel and then Xukun sends you two a text like “Enjoy your date”.

You can also bet he had some smug smirk on his face after sending that, since his plan worked.

Linkai and you decide to just enjoy your dinner, and you honestly have a lot of fun.

You both found yourself going out again and again.

In the few dates it got to the point that your Nine Percent group chat was just like, “Just say you are dating, since that’s really what you are doing.”

And that's how you two ended up official deciding you were dating, by consensus of your group chat.

You two honestly wouldn’t have your first kiss until a few dates later.

He honestly just initiated the kiss after the older members of his group chat, the one without you, were like bro kiss them.

So you know, he did what his bros told him, and kissed you.

Honestly, I don’t see him as the type to kiss you often.

And if he does kiss you, it’s like a forehead peck or nose, not often your lips.

When he does kiss you on your lips, it’s maybe once a day, if even that, and he probably builds up to it.

Like it’s some huge romantic scene and all, and he builds up to it, since it’s probably the only time he’d kiss you that day.

If he kisses you more than once, it’s probably either a special day, or you are under some mistletoe he put around.

Even if he doesn’t celebrate Christmas, he’s gonna put a ton of mistletoe up just so he can catch you under it.

He probably also suggest mistlefoe so if two people that don’t want to kiss end up under it, they fight to the death, until you are like “Linkai no.” and he’s like “Okay babe.”

He’d be more one of those people that likes just casual skinship more than explicit displays of love.

He’d just casually hold your hand while you walk around town, or casually have his arm around your waist.

He’s totally that boyfriend that has his hand on the lower part of your back leading you through a store or something.

He is really one of those ride or die types of people, so don’t expect him to show you like big time affection, until he’s like completely sure you are the one.

Like he won’t say I love you until he’s 222% sure you are the one.

He would probably take like 2 years, if you are still willing to date him after that amount of time, he’s finally ready to say those three words.

He’d also say it casually the first time.

Like you’d be eating some take out chicken while watching a movie, and he just casually says “I love you” and you are sorta taken aback and he’s like omg do they not love me, but relaxes as you say “I love you too” back.

He also wouldn’t use those words often.

Like he would only say it on special days and stuff.

I feel like he probably is one of those people that things the overuse of the words make them lose their meaning.

He’d probably text to you daily like “good morning ily” but never fully say I love you out unless it’s a special day.

Also if when he says it, you aren’t ready, he wouldn’t pressure you to reply.

Even though he himself took a long time to say it, if you hadn’t said it, he wouldn’t pressure you about it, and would just be like “You can say it when you are ready.” since the last thing he wants is you to feel pressured.

And if you said it before him, he’d probably just tell you he isn’t exactly ready to say it, and hopes that you understand.

He values your opinion before everyone else's.

Like if Xingjie tells him something he wrote is okay, but you say you don’t really like it, he will completely restart what he’s doing.

Don’t expect him to help you with domestic task, he’s useless at it.

Like cleaning and cooking, just no.

He can hand you the things but him actually doing it, just no.

Like once you probably trusted him to vacuum and you came back 5 minutes later to a broken vacuum cleaner.

He also can’t be trusted to help you cook since fire and sharp things.

Like you can trust him to dry and put up the dishes and to taste test things, but that’s it.

Don’t trust him to do laundry either, he’d probably leave a red sock in the whites and your whites would turn pink.

Or he’d put way too much soap in it and it turns into some huge mess.

When he introduces you to the Gramarie boys, you can bet he’s gonna introduce Xingjie as Huba.

He probably also changes Xingjie’s contact information in your phone to Huba.

Xingjie probably takes ten minutes explaining to you his English name is J.Zen not Huba, and nor is his nickname Huba.

He wouldn’t like cliche normal dates.

Like he’d rather take you out at midnight to eat convenience store food rather than in the evening to a restaurant.

Takes you on late night walks through the park, since I feel he’d just prefer being out at that time rather than midday in the parks.

He’ll take you to the pet shop so you can play with the animals, while also making notes of what animals you like and don’t like for future reference.

He will go shopping with you, but don’t expect him to sugar coat things.

Like if you ask “Does this make me look fat?” he’s like “Yeah.” but then is like “Try this one on instead.” and hands you one that he thinks will look better, and it does.

Don’t expect him to be that boyfriend that buys you things.

It’s sorta half and half, either you pay for yourself or he’ll pay this time and you pay next time.

Yet, usually, you both just expect whoever invited the other out to pay.

Don’t trust him in the grocery store with you though.

You’ll leave with a cart full of things, and none of it is what you went in for.

99% of it is just things he likes and so he threw them in the cart.

It gets to this point you are having to limit him to 2 candies, not 6, yet tbh he just goes and gets them anyways and goes through the line and buys them himself.

Totally the type of boyfriend to just come home one day with a puppy or kitten and be like “I ain’t taking it back, it’s name is Ham”.

After you overcome the stupid name, rename it something cute, and play with it a bit, you’re like “Fine it can stay.”

Arguments are common with you two.

Sometimes they are over petty things, like him leaving his shoes in the middle of the floor, but other times they are over major things, like him highkey flirting with that girl in the supermarket despite the fact he didn’t realize he was flirting.

No matter the size of the argument, he’ll always spend a few days away from you after them.

To cool down and all, then he’ll come back.

He’d honestly just fear you’ll get into another argument and break up if he stayed.

Luckily arguments aren’t that common.

And if it was his fault, he will always apologize, expressing how sorry he is and all.

But if it’s your fault, he expects you to do the same and apologize, which you do.

Yet what is common, passive aggressive statements.

They rarely lead to arguments, but there are tons of passive aggressive statements from both of you.

His favorite names for you range from babe to your name.

He won’t be that creative with pet names.

Like he’d probably call you your old childhood nickname, despite how stupid it is.

And you’d probably call him his childhood nickname in return, despite how stupid it is.

Can and will prank you.

You’ll be married for years and he’ll still be pulling pranks on you.

He will total do something like put a bucket of water under a door he knows you’ll walk through, but then walk through it himself.

Often his pranks either work just as planned or backfire on him.

More than often they backfire on him, but that doesn’t stop him.

He’ll do anything to hear you laugh, even if it has to come from his prank backfiring.

Honestly, he wouldn’t show his affection that openly, but he would love you dearly.

And in the end, your parent/s did lose that bet since you were petty, but not that petty.

“Hell yeah, turn that song up!” you yelled, raising your red solo cup. Dousing its contents, you nodded your head to the bass as you went to the center of the room to join your friends.

Friday nights were always your favorite. Not only did it mean that the weekend was officially here, but Fridays were when the best parties were thrown. You’d forget all your worries in the world, throw on something your mom would kill you for wearing, and let loose. 

You came to learn that the fraternity boys knew how to have a good time. They’d rent out the house, fill it with booze, loud music, and had to find a way to not get shut down by the police before 5 AM. 

There were nine of them. Known as gods to both girls and guys, they were the epitome of living life to the fullest. 

“(Y/N), over here!” Chengxiao yelled. She motioned you over and lifted her red cup and clinked it with yours.

“Here’s to another Friday night,” she cheered, “And honestly, fuck exams.”

“Amen to that,” Jieqiong laughed, “and Amen for the fraternity boys.”

You instantly recognized the next song, the three of you squealing after hearing the first four seconds.

“Glad You Came’s playing?! Come on, let’s dance!”

“I love this song!” Chengxiao yelled over the music, “Best. Party. Ever.”

After an hour, you excused yourself to get a drink, waving a goodbye to your friends who now had two of the fraternity guys with them. You flashed them a thumbs up, and went to go get another drink.

“What’s a pretty girl like you doing here?” a greasy voice slurred behind you. Turning around, you were face-to-face with none other than Bu Fan.

“Oh, (Y/N)? It’s been so long,” he drawled, “Fancy seeing you again.”

“Hello, Bu Fan,” you replied with a tight-lipped smile, “It’s been a while.”

Bu Fan and you met during freshmen year when he accidentally spilled his iced coffee all over you and it led to a sweet relationship.

You’d probably still be with him if he wasn’t an alcoholic. Bu Fan was one of the nicest people ever, but as soon as alcohol ran through his veins, he became a monster. He lashed out his anger and stress on you, leading to painful memories of beatings and bruises. 

And to be quite honest, you just couldn’t deal with it anymore. You broke up, lost all contact, and hoped to never have to see him every again.

Funny how things worked out. 

Like usual, he was wearing his disgustingly rich mink coat, and stood looming over you like a tall tree. His breath reeked of alcohol, and his bloodshot eyes stared into yours. Knowing how he got when drunk, you instantly backed up and frantically started searching for your friends. 

“How’ve you been, darling?” He asked, taking a swig from his beer bottle, “I’ve missed you.”

“I’ve been good, thanks for asking. I have to go now, but I’ll see you around.”

You turned as fast as you could to escape him, but you felt yourself roughly being yanked back.

“(Y/N), who said we were done talking? You never explained to me why you left me,” he snarled, “Dirty slut.”

“Bu Fan, let go of me,” you said firmly, “I need to go.”

“I never said you could,” he said, his grip getting even tighter, “You think you can talk back to me like that? Who do you think you are, huh?” 

He raised his glass bottle in the air, ready to strike you. Absolutely terrified, you covered your head and braced for the impact. 

It never came. 

A tall boy ripped Bu Fan off of you, instantly grabbing him by the collar. 

“Get the fuck off of me,” Bu Fan growled, “Who the fuck do you think you are?”

“I’m Wang Ziyi. From what I understand, you were about to beat a girl at my party, so I’m going to have to ask you to leave.”

He wore a long sleeved striped blue shirt with a white tank underneath, his hair wild and his eyes blazing. With slick black hair, fair skin, and a single stud in his right ear, you happened to take this all in as he pinned your ex to the wall. 

“Don’t tell me what to do,” he sneered, “She’s my girlfriend.”

“No boyfriend calls his girlfriend a ‘dirty slut,’” Ziyi replied, infuriated. His grip on Bu Fan tightened.

“Get out of here. Don’t ever come back into the frat house again.”

Bu Fan threw a string of curse words at you before stalking off.

“Have fun with the slut!” He yelled, “This party sucks. I’m out of here.”

Ziyi rolled his eyes, and turned to face you.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, thanks for helping me out back there,” you said, slightly bowing, “I really appreciate it.”

“No big deal,” he shrugged, “Nobody should ever be put in that situation. I’m sorry that you had to go through that.”

“It’s not your fault.”

Two other boys soon joined him, slapping him on the back. You recognized them as Wang Linkai and Cai Xukun, two of the fraternity boys. 

“Atta boy, Ziyi!” Linkai exclaimed, “You finally got noticed by (Y/N)!”

“Hey there,” Xukun said, now chuckling as he talked to you, “Sorry about that. Our friend Ziyi over here might have a huge crush on you.”

“(Y/N) this, (Y/N) that!” Linkai laughed, “Forget about a crush, he’s in love with you!”

“I am not!” Ziyi said, his ears turning bright red.

“Oh, really?” Xukun said, “Even though you insisted that we keep having parties every Friday just for (Y/N)?”

“Or what about how you’ve been staring at her like a dumb fool, complaining to us about how you’re too chicken to talk to her?”

You giggled.

“It’s okay, Ziyi,” you said, reassuring him, “Not gonna lie, you seemed pretty cool back there saving me, so you’re definitely not a chicken.”

You grabbed a napkin and a bed, scribbling your number on it.

“I was planning to never get a boyfriend again after Bu Fan, but I think you changed that. If you ever wanna hang out, just call me.”

You handed him the napkin, thanking the three boys once again before finding Chengxiao and Jieqiong waiting for you.

“Bro, you’re whipped!” Linkai cackled, “Look at you, you’re on Cloud 9!”

“Shut up,” Ziyi said, unable to contain his grin, “I’m just really happy.”

“What the hell were you doing back there with THE Cai Xukun, Wang Linkai, and Wang Ziyi?!” Chengxiao shrieked, “They’re the three most popular fraternity boys in our grade!”

You explained what had happened as you walked back to the dorms, and the two of them instantly flipped. 

“I knew it!” Jieqiong exclaimed, “Ziyi and I have Bio together and he’d always ask me about you! I fucking knew it!”

“He’s had a huge crush on you ever since last year,” Chengxiao said, shaking her head, “How did you not notice such a cute boy?”

“How come neither of you told me?” You retorted, “I would’ve taken that chance if I knew him!”

“You’re a brick, (Y/N)!” Jieqiong said, waving her arms, “It’s WANG ZIYI. It’s not just anyone!”

“Well, what do you think of him? Is he your knight in shining armor?” Chengxiao teased, poking you.

“He’s pretty cute,” you admitted, “And he’s definitely a good guy.”

“Well, if you guys start dating, PLEASE put in a good word for me to Xukun!” Chengxiao giggled. 

The three of you made it to your rooms, and were off to bed. As you were brushing your teeth in the bathroom, you heard a squeal.

“(Y/N)! Oh my god, Ziyi texted you!”

(ZIYI) 1230083701: Hey, it’s Ziyi. Sorry for my friends back there, lol. Thanks for coming tonight.

Jieqiong shoved your phone in front of your face.

“You’ve got to reply! Don’t leave him hanging!”

(Y/N) 12300785624: Hey! It’s no worries. Thanks for helping me out tonight, I’m glad you came. :-)

“Wow, you’re so lame,” she laughed, “That was probably the most basic response you could’ve sent.”

“Shut up you guys!” You laughed, “I’m going to bed. Ziyi’s actually going to think I look like a boogieman.”

“You’ll haunt his heart.”
