Artwork Printing Melbourne | Bravo Print
Artwork Printing Melbourne offers the latest giclee fine art printing technology. This process ensures that brush strokes and pencil renderings are delivered with perfect clarity.
James Eagle looks just how you’d expect an indie Melbourne artist to look: relaxed, friendly and cool in a totally accidental way. His screen-printing business is a side hustle that he’s slowly dragging back into the mainstream.
Bravo Print
The intricate and delicate work of Bravo Print needs to be seen to be believed. He uses a watercolour palette that’s almost translucent, with delicate strokes and pencil renderings that capture the essence of each animal perfectly.
He’s also a writer and has been published in Meanjin and Overland Literary Journal. He has a Research Masters in Creative Art and his thesis examined children’s art production, narrative and play.
Minna Leunig is an Australian artist who creates monochromatic scenes of animal life. Her limited colour palettes take viewers into the primal world of animals, with each species displaying their unique personalities and charisma. Leunig’s limited-colour landscapes are guaranteed to add a touch of whimsy and sophistication to any home.
Bravo Print
Bravo Print is a Kaanju, Kuku Ya’u, and Girramay woman from Far North Queensland who has always known she wanted to be an artist. From drawing on walls as a toddler to practising techniques passed down by her family, she has developed her own unique style of art. Emma’s work pays homage to her culture and heritage in bright and vibrant colours.
She is also a self-run businesswoman with her own art store called Mulganai. Her ally-friendly colouring book features 45 rad artworks that celebrate Indigenous Australia and the places she grew up in.
Another favourite is the Melbourne-based artist Mable Tan who creates surface design and illustrations that are whimsical, fun, and joyful. Her beautiful designs will add a splash of colour to any room in your home.
In the heart of inner-city Fitzroy is Australian Print Workshop, an award-winning centre of excellence for traditional printmaking and multidisciplinary studios. The refurbished building is a marvel of modern technology, and the team is able to offer print services that are at the forefront of international best practice.
They are a short taxi ride from the city and can be easily reached on the tram line that stops metres away. The team can also provide consultation and training for groups and individuals wanting to get started in printmaking.
Bravo Print
As a print studio, Creffield specialise in giclee printing – using high-resolution professional inkjet printers to ensure brush strokes, pencil renderings and colours are reproduced crystal-clear. They’re the go-to Melbourne printing company for artists who require perfection in their work and want to be sure that their prints are a true representation of the original idea they had in mind.
Sydney-based husband and wife duo The Adventures of produce a bold and colourful selection of greeting card and art prints that would brighten up any blank wall. Their slogan prints are perfect for daily motivation while their abstract, geometric and cut-out compositions are a bit like the work of a modern day Matisse.
If you’re looking for a more food-themed addition to your home, check out Melbourne artist Alice Oehr’s scrummy-looking illustrations. Hang one of her tomato or orange prints in your kitchen for a visual Vitamin C boost, or frame a strawberry print to remind you to pick some up from the market. Her artwork is also a great way to decorate your space without breaking the bank.
Bravo Print
When you want perfection for your artworks and photographs, Bravo Print is the place to go. Their giclee printing services are designed to capture brush strokes, pencil renderings and colours with a clarity that is often not possible with consumer-grade printers. Description:
A new hire at Rose Cybernetics is given their final interview.
~2800 words
Story:
The megalithic building stands proud against the concrete and glass towers beside it, making mortals of titans. Sheer, elegant, imposing; the structure kisses the sky, inspiring awe in those who observe it. This effect becomes overwhelming in its courtyard, where these same observers are rendered ants in a temple of giants. You let a breath fill your lungs, feeling it sweep out through your anxious smile. Here it is. Rose Cybernetics. The sliding doors of the atrium open with a hissed breath as you enter. You knew that the company did its best to impress its visitors, but if the scale of the building hadn't already set an imposing stage, its lobby would finish its show. Seeming as though it was open to the air, the 'ceiling' of this enormous space rests comfortably at the top of the building itself. From this, a tiered array of circular floors wrap along the outer walls like a serpent's coils. Light permeates the structure from a myriad of sources, all carrying a natural hue that - if what you've heard is accurate - mirrors the color of the sky outside. The sterile whites and greys of the building carry accents of saturated color across its industrial carpeting and in stripes along its walls. Of a similar color set, furniture that seems more like modern art gives the entire area an almost organic quality. The structure itself, though, is complemented in its unique qualities by those within. Figures all around you work busily, writing on whiteboards, collaborating in clusters of various sizes, darting from group to group, and delivering items as though their need was known preemptively. Interestingly, these forms all appear dissimilar from each other. They represent myriads of body types, clothing styles, and gender presentations, yet they all wear a sleek cover across their faces; a brushed, dark curve that obscures all facial features while displaying imagery of its owner's choice. Pulling your attention from your surroundings, you return to your task. A desk labeled 'check-in' sits at the atrium's center, and inquiring there seems to be the place to start. "Hello, welcome to the Rose Cybernetics Center! How can we help you?" The person at the desk carries a spritely, delicate voice, and their words appear across their faceplate as they speak. Almost as if understanding your hesitation, the words 'she/her/hers' flash across her screen. "I- um, hi," You've practiced this interaction many times before, but trying to get words out when you're already off-beat is a bit like trying to tame a tiger while wearing rollerblades. The staffer looks at you again, tilting her head curiously in a motion that dangles her blonde ponytail against her shoulder. It's unsettling to interact with someone with no face, yet looking into her faceplate is somehow calming all the same. Rippling waves of various colors splash across the black of her display, soothing cool tones that remind you of northern lights. You take a breath to settle your heart, acclimating yourself to the unusual sight, and try again. "I'm here for my in-person interview. I-I heard that you'd be expecting me?" Even without seeing her face, you get a good sense of the smile under her faceplate as its colors take on a gentle warm hue. "Of course, applicant 3B90, right this way." The staffer stands and walks out from behind the desk, as another worker wordlessly takes her place. You find yourself unsettled by the exchange; it almost felt more mechanical than human. Suppressing a shudder, you follow the staffer as she leads you to one of the elevator wells built into the side of the building."If you don't mind, um," you speak, immediately cursing the way your words always drift away midsentence. "How can I help you, applicant 3B90?" The warmth associated with her smile appears again, easing some of the anxiety in your chest."It's ah. Sydney, please. What's your name?" "Oh, I'm sorry, Sydney. I'm GIU-2CE5, but you can call me 2C if you like!" As with all of her words, these too float across her display, as does a small '^-^' emoticon afterward. Having gotten more accustomed to the way she emotes, you see the way her tone seems to perk up at the opportunity to share this particular bit of information."Sure," you say as she guides you into an elevator and presses a button for one of the middle floors, "that's your employee number, or um. Whatever, but how about your name?" She pauses for a moment, and you can see her faceplate's slow visualization stutter briefly as she thinks. "Nope, but 2C's my nickname!" It's painfully clear to you that she likes that 'nickname' at least, and you doubt you'll get further on this line of questions, so you let it go with a sigh. "2C it is, then." Okay, maybe it *is* a bit cute to see her get excited about something so simple. The elevator dings and she leads you out through its doors, grabbing your hand to pull you along. The contact is startling, but you don't seem to mind too much as you shrug and let the enthusiastic girl drag you along. On these lofted floors, full glass windows look out on the open atrium while the walls of offices and cubicles emerge, finally welcoming you into something more familiar. She pulls you into an office, empty except for two chairs and a small cabinet, and gestures for you to take a seat. You comply, settling into a piece of furniture that has no business being as comfortable as it is. 2C takes the opposite chair, crossing her legs. "Okay, Sydney, I'll be conducting your interview! Let me know, and we can go ahead and get started." Hearing this surprises you. Sure, you keep an open mind when it comes to most things, but getting interviewed by a front desk greeter for a network administration position is almost surreal. "Alright, so what is this, exactly?" 2C's 'smile' flashes again, and she cheerily explains the Rose Cybernetics hiring process. You know most of this stuff already; the company runs a series of difficult online challenges that lead the way to their application portal. From there, you don't need to submit a resume (thankfully, since yours is in desperate need of some TLC), but they do ask you to solve a problem in realtime over an internet call. If you've shown your skill, they speak with you in a brief remote interview to learn more about you as a person, then give you one final in-person meeting. This last interview, to your knowledge, is a formality; they'd already told you to bring everything you needed to move in, after all. It's at this point where the details get fuzzy, though. As much as you've searched for information about what this would even be, you'd found nothing but missing links and dead-ends. "This meeting is a different kind of test! We're going to hook you into our internal network for a moment, and see how you take to it." She reads your confused look, and the waves on her display bubble lightly, almost in a light giggle. "What do you mean? Will I have a laptop?" You watch as the laughing effect grows. She holds up a hand as if to ask for just a moment, then stands and walks over to the cabinet. Sliding out a slim, black box, she strides back over to you and places the box in your lap. It's blank, unadorned, and made of showy cardboard. You start removing the lid, suction keeping the base from falling as it slides slowly, and an idea of what might be waiting inside dawns on you. Tossing away the newly-liberated lid, you stare directly into the item you'd been expecting and dreading; a faceplate, returning your stare.Just above the glossy covering, embedded into the packaging foam, a small bolt-like object sits ominously. You've already seen the faceplates, but this thing..? It makes the whole situation even more concerning. "Don't worry about that receiver - for now, just put your faceplate on - I bet you'd look so cute! Oh, I'm so excited, I get to see what your display shows before anyone else!" 2C's demeanor is a confusing thing; her screen jumps and reacts to her mood, and so does her voice, but her body language and physical responses - while present - are significantly muted. Her posture is almost perfect, and her movement is unsettlingly smooth. Just one more uncanny part of this business, you suppose. Considering your current situation, you catch yourself worrying about the results of this interview again, for very different reasons this time. Your eyes widen with anxiety, as your heart beats faster in your chest. "Sydney, look at me, okay?" her faceplate's coloration shifts back to those comfortable blues and greens. "Putting the faceplate on won't do anything permanent." Her hand is holding yours. "It'll press against your face, make a tight seal, and beam everything its cameras pick up into your eyes once it starts up." She's holding both of your hands now. "When I press the receiver to your neck, it'll let you control the faceplate with your mind, just like I do!" Her display wiggles in a playful pattern for emphasis. Her hands are soft, reassuring. "Once you take them off, it'll be back to normal, okay? Just a taste now, that's what this interview is for." You nod, thoughtlessly. With 2C's hands still holding yours, you reach to the faceplate in your lap. Her reassurance pools in your chest, and after slowing your heartbeat with a couple of deep breaths, you press the dark shape to your face. It's cold, almost like your face is pressed against a window, and begins to shift against your skin. You can feel it exerting a suction force, and for a terrifying instant, you realize that you can't breathe. As you try to pull in a breath, a refreshing current of air wafts in through its respirator, and your brief panic recedes. At first, your vision is blank. Another few deep breaths go by, and imagery starts to flow back into your eyes. Dim at first, most likely to keep you from being immediately overwhelmed, slowly building until your surroundings resolve around you again. You've needed glasses, apparently; the world around you appears sharper now than before, and much more detailed. Looking over at 2C, a small blurb of information hovers over her head. It's a single word; 'contented.' You'd figured that she was just good at reading emotions, but this was cheating!"H-have you been reading me from your s-screen this whole time?" you stammer. "Oh, no, not quite. That info comes from your receiver. I'm just good at guessing!" The panel shifts to 'proud,' before progressing to 'flirty.' You're about to comment on it, when she decides to continue. "By the way, that faceplate looks so so cute on you!" Your cheeks redden, and you're, surprisingly, thankful that the unlit display is covering your face. You still have almost no idea why the company would require wearing these things, but the anonymity is surprisingly refreshing. "O-okay, I've handled the mask-faceplate-whatever, I'm good to keep going." 2C's faceplate lights up a monochrome green as she tilts her head, and you see metadata confirming that it's posed as a question. You nod again in response, and she stands up to walk behind you. Your anxiety builds at the thought of a person directly behind you, but it subsides as chilling metal touches your skin. The mechanism's electromagnetic fields warp your thoughts, pulling at them as though they were elastic. The tension builds and builds as your mind becomes a coiled spring, the receiver forcing it ever tighter. The force, the pulling, the pushing; it feels like everything that makes up your mind is about to explode. "Relax," 2C's voice cuts through the swirling forces and mental struggle, "just let go, let the flow of information sweep over you.” “Relax.” At her last word, your entire being stalls, before sinking into a state of extreme ease. All of that tension, so overwhelming moments ago, courses through your body, letting you accept this new pathway for information to travel through. As you pick up the pieces of your consciousness, you shake your face from the empty stupor it carried a moment ago - thanking your mask once again - and actively sift through the data streaming into your brain. The Rose Cybernetics building is already impressive from a visual perspective, but looking at it for what it is, the glowing connected consciousnesses of every mind in the structure lighting up before you, you feel your jaw drop automatically. Your gaze returns to 2C, whose current emotions register as 'pleased.' [You can talk to me like this now, you know.] The thoughts sound like her voice, and you jump as you hear them. [It's strange to start with, I know, but this is how we all communicate here; much faster.] Realization dawns on you, and without prompting, your thoughts pour through the connection between you. [How do I respond- oh wait I'm responding now this is amazing but hard to control how do I sto-] flows out of you, in combination with a variety of related emotions, images, and half thoughts. You spend the remaining interview time experimenting with this paradigm shift in interaction, communication, and existence that's somehow both entirely new, yet confusingly familiar and natural. After only a few minutes, it feels as though 2C understands you on a deeper level than anyone you've ever met, just as your understanding of her reaches that same depth. She explains that for the sake of getting you used to this, she's the only one linked to you. She shares - with enthusiasm - that after you've had enough time to acclimate to this shift, you'll be able to open connections with anyone and everyone in the entire facility. Her excitement bounces through your mind, and you can't help but let that positivity bubble up until it begins to play across your faceplate, too. Your display is a lot less abstract than 2C's; instead of the amorphous waves against a black background, your faceplate decorates itself with images of the cosmos. Galaxies, nebulas, constellations, all proudly used to emote in a way that words never could. It feels freeing, strangely enough, wearing a screen like this. It's a window, you think, glasses for the mind. You can feel 2C thinking to herself, the sign to expect a burst of new information broadcast from her mind to yours. As you do, you can't help but think just how cute she is! So excited over being called 2C; of course, if someone called you 3B90, you'd probably melt too. It's confusing to you, looking back, why you thought that names were so important. After all, designations are just so much more convenient! [You were broadcasting that, 3B,] 2C's smug feeling drips between your connection. Your blush returns to paint your cheeks bright red, and you notice another - somewhat less innocuous - response between your legs. She waits, perfectly aware of the effect her words carried as she feels it flowing through her mind from yours, before continuing. [I think that our interview was a success! Come back tomorrow, and we can get you fitted with a permanent set.] [I have to take it off?] [It'll be alright, just one more day.] Through your mental link, she sends you more feelings of relief, complemented by a physical hug. She looks up at you for a moment questioningly, before you nod gently, confirming your begrudging acceptance as she pulls the receiver away from your neck. With all that meta-information gone, you squeeze against her even tighter to compensate. As your mask falls away, you feel strange; naked even. Leaving the office room, stepping into the elevator, and giving your goodbyes to 2CE5 all serve the singular goal of making you feel that much more alone. For a brief moment, you consider just how strange it is to be feeling these things at the hand of your new employer, but at this point, you're in far too deep to do anything but shrug. "Before I- um... go, will I see you again?" you stumble out the question, mouth once again failing you. 2C's smile lights up her faceplate again - stars, it's so beautiful to see - and a giggle creeps out too. "I wouldn't be too worried about that, 3B! After all, I'll be your new supervisor!" Hearing your designation excites you in a way that feels almost enchanting, and you blush deeply in response. The part of you that might have questioned why she of all people would be your supervisor remains muted, as the excitement of the prospect tingles down your spine. Only a few hours ago, you would have scoffed at yourself, but now you can't help but be excited; tomorrow is your first day at Rose Cybernetics.
#droneplay#what do you mean this isn't a self insert story totally not hahahahahaaaaa#sometimes you just gotta wear a faceplate bc hhhhh

How to Purchase A Quality Vinyl Siding
'Siding' actually refers to the outermost covering (or cladding) of a house. The primary function of installing sidings in a building is to shed water and thus protect from the adverse weather effects. Besides rendering protection, sidings are also good in enhancing the aesthetic beauty of the architectural structures - this may also optimistically affect its property value!
While discussing about different types of sidings available in the market, we realize that the most popular one is 'vinyl siding'. Blacktown City, Blue Mountains City, Camden Council are some cities in Sydney (Australia) where residents are literally obsessed about installing these claddings in their apartments or houses. As there is a wide variety of sidings in Australia furniture markets, sometimes it becomes a little challenge to find a suitable cladding that matches personal taste and preferences.
* Firstly, you have to decide whether you would be installing the Vinyl Cladding Sydney on your own, or calling professional help. If you intend to hire a professional to assist you in the installation process, you can use the Internet and access all details of vendors in your area.
* Now, you can estimate how much cladding would be required for the remodeling project. The estimation has to be done after careful measurements of exterior parts of the building to figure out the square footage of wall-space that would be covered by these structures.
* To have a good knowledge about different types of sidings available in your area, meet with a few local cladding suppliers or distributors. You can check their latest offerings to establish clear ideas about what would actually look good for your house. Information on quality and durability of different types of sidings helps in purchasing the right vinyl cladding.
* Try to obtain proposals from at least 3-4 separate vinyl siding contractors in your region. Referrals from pals and relatives sometimes help you find a good service vendor.
* Finally, ensure that you have all essential details to make an informed decision on purchasing vinyl sidings for your house.

Origin
John Corben was a professional con man until he was fatally injured in a car crash. The dying Corben was found by Professor Emmet Vale, a specialist in cybernetics, who was obsessed with the idea that Superman was the spearhead of an alien invasion after he discovered the ship that brought the infant Kal-El to earth and mistranslated a message from his father Jor-El to his son. Vale took the helpless Corben to his lab and transplanted his brain into a cyborg body powered by Uranium, to which upon awakening the cyborg, instructed him to kill Superman. Metallo initially was enraged by what Vale had done to him, but feigned interest in the paranoiac doctor's findings of Kal-El's origins as well as his replacing the uranium core with Corben's new Kryptonite heart, a material deadly to Superman, to kill him with. After Vale had given Corben's bionic chasis a more humanized look, Metallo broke the Professor's neck, killing the scientist as he'd then outlived his usefulness, but nonetheless ended up battling Superman as per his recreation's purpose. Before delivering the killing stroke, he was abducted by Lex Luthor, who realized that his Kryptonite 'heart' was immensely valuable and wanted the pleasure of killing the super alien himself, casually ripping it from his chest, seemingly killing Metallo.
Doom Patrol
Metallo survived the encounter thanks to built-in backup systems and managed to escape from the Lexcorp facility. As Luthor began tracking down and stockpiling more Kryptonite, Metallo began raiding Lexcorp warehouse stealing as much as he needed to keep his body charged. He also discovered that one of Lexcorp's holding companies manufactured cybernetic components, so he began stealing those as well. He modified certain components so that they would be dedicated to his specific hardware, and in doing so, was able to mentally control these components independently of his body. Metallo soon discovered that a shipment of these modified components had been delivered to another recipient - Robotman of the Doom Patrol. After scouring globe looking for these pieces, he eventually tracked Robotman down to Kansas City and involved himself in a fight with Robotman's teammates the Doom Patrol. As Robotman was using Metallo's modified components at the time, Metallo was able to mentally control Robotman's body. Superman learned of the incident and flew to Kansas City to aid the Doom Patrol. During the fight, Celsius and Scott Fischer combined their powers to destroy Metallo's physical body. His head remained intact however, but went missing amidst the debris. Lex Luthor tracked Metallo down and sent a team of scientists to recover his brain. Luthor's lead scientist Sydney Happersen found Metallo's head and secured it within a crate where it remained locked up inside of a Missouri warehouse for months.
Brainiac
Some time later, the alien conqueror known as Brainiac began systematically taking control of all of Lexcorp's facilities. The physical body housing his mental consciousness was dying, so he performed a comprehensive analysis on all of Lexcorp's advancements in cybernetics. Through this, he learned of Metallo and had his head brought to a laboratory where it was attached to a new robotic body. Metallo agreed to work with Brainiac, since he still held a grudge against Luthor. He sent a robot duplicate of himself to stage a robbery at the Lexcorp owned Metropolis Mercantile Bank, knowing that it would draw the attention of Superman. While Superman dealt with the decoy Metallo, the real Metallo led a robot army on a raid against the Lexcorp Tower.
Immediately thereafter, Brainiac had Metallo adopt a human disguise and kidnap a scientist named Dr. Reginald Augustine. Augustine was once one of the founding fathers of the Cadmus Project. With Augustine in tow, Metallo raided Project Cadmus to steal their cloning technology for Brainiac. During the raid, Metallo ran afoul of Superman, as well as Cadmus' resident protector, Guardian. He succeeded in procuring the technology required to clone Brainiac a new humanoid body to replace his dying borrowed form.
Damage
A short time later, Metallo encountered Superman again and suffered a resounding defeat. His body was destroyed, and his head was placed under special quarantine at Stryker's Island Penitentiary. Metallo's imprisonment was short lived however. A man named Steelhawk gassed the special detention wing at Stryker's and liberated Metallo's head. In exchange for outfitting him with a larger, sturdier body, Metallo agreed to accept a contract hit on behalf of Steelhawk and his employers. He traveled to Nathan B. Forrest High School in Marietta, Georgia to sanction a teenage boy named Grant Emerson. He smashed through the wall of the classroom and quickly located Emerson, but the incident sparked Emerson's Meta-gene and the young boy increased in size and power. After fighting for several minutes, Grant Emerson's body erupted with power causing a massive explosion that destroyed Metallo's body as well as his entire school.
Metropolis
Conduit freed Metallo from S.T.A.R. Labs and had him attack Superman, part of an effort by Conduit to wear down Superman. Metallo's new body featured a device that made him unmovable so long as he had his feet planted. Superman fought him outside Metropolis, arriving at a shopping mall. Metallo made the mistake of climbing on top of a car. When Superman kicked the car out from under him, Metallo went airborne and Superman was able to grab him and knock his head clean off. Superman could not wait for him to get picked up, but some local teens promised to watch it.
Underworld Unleashed
When the demon Neron manifested his corporeal form on Earth, Metallo was one of dozens of super-villains who accepted an offer of power in exchange for his immortal soul. Neron granted Metallo greater flexibility and range with his powers, enabling him to morph his body into more complex mechanical constructs--Metallo could now draw on any metal nearby to create a new body for himself, fulfilling a dream to never be rendered "just a head" again. During the "Underworld Unleashed" event, Metallo teamed up with Gorilla Grodd in an effort to hijack a truck carrying nuclear warheads. Batman, Robin and the Huntress arrived in time to prevent the theft, and Metallo escaped.
Steel
During the ensuing chaos, Metallo arrived in Washington, D.C. where he encountered Steel. Steel was trying to diffuse a riot and had little patience for Metallo. He managed to knock his head off and send it into the Potomac, but Metallo recovered and came back for more. Steel had meanwhile responded to a bomb threat at a mosque. He took the bomb and started to fly out to sea, only to be spotted and pursued by Metallo. When he got close enough, Metallo pulled the bomb to himself, believing he could then be in total control of it. Unfortunately for him, while the casing was metal, the bomb itself was plastique. Metallo's huge frame absorbed most of the blast, although the shockwave still knocked Steel from the air.
Metropolis
Metallo would come back to Metropolis, this time when the Man of Steel was in his "Man of Energy" phase. Still unused to both his own new powers as well as Metallo's, Superman was initially only able to battle him to a standstill. Fortunately for Superman, the Ray arrived and helped him understand and use his new powers. Working together, they were able to defeat the cyborg, but Metallo eluded capture. Making his way to the nearby naval base, Metallo managed to convert an entire aircraft carrier into a new body. Superman defeated him soundly this time around, using his powers to drain off the carrier's nuclear energy--a move that nearly proved to great for even Superman. Metallo is taken into custody.
Metal Men in Metropolis
Metallo was given a new body by Brainiac 13 during Y2K. The new body also featured a "kryptonite heart" as a power source. Luckily for Superman, the Metal Men arrive in Metropolis. While they have no more luck against Metallo on their own, Superman has Lead coat over his body, protecting him from the Kryptonite. Superman flies straight through Metallo's heart, destroying it and causing Metallo to topple, deactivated.
Our Worlds at War
Metallo was placed in the orbiting Stryker Prison facility. When General Zod of Pokolistan changed the sun to red and seized the White House, President Lex Luthor rescued a stranded Superman and took them to Stryker's. Metallo removed the armor Zod had placed around Superman. Like many of the other villains, he questioned why he should bother helping Luthor or Superman save the world from Zod. Nevertheless, he did agree to help. While Superman lead a cadre of villains to Earth, Metallo transformed himself into a new colossal spaceship. With Luthor at the "helm," they flew towards the sun to disable the "solar converters" Zod had placed around it. They were attacked by Ignition, but Metallo split his body up into several drones. They successfully destroyed the converters, enabling Superman to defeat Zod back on Earth. Metallo returned Luthor to Earth, and while it is not clear exactly what occurred next, Luthor made it clear that he did not pardon at least the other prisoners.
Kryptonite Removal
Some time later, Superman and Batman embarked upon a quest to rid the world of all Kryptonite. They tracked down Metallo and Superman forcibly removed his Kryptonite heart. Batman quickly replaced it with an electronic substitute that enabled Metallo to continue to live, but also restricted the use of his weaponry.
Infinite Crisis
In the wake of the Infinite Crisis, Metallo's history was revised. In this new history, John Wayne Corben was a sergeant of the regular Army of the United States, and one of the best soldiers under the command of General Sam Lane. Lane made no secret of the fact that he wanted Corben to marry his daughter Lois, much to the dismay of Lois herself.
When Superman appeared in Metropolis, Lane went to Luthor and, citing the national security implications of beings like Superman and the Parasite being at large, agreed to help fund a plan to stop him-a battlesuit, composed of Luthor's proprietary 'Metallo' material, and powered by a lump of a strange, glowing green rock. Corben volunteered to pilot the suit. However, in his first encounter with Superman, a stray bullet hit the rock, leading to a disastrous energy surge in the suit, which almost killed Corben. Luthor saved Corben's life by literally integrating him into the suit, transforming him into the cyborg Metallo, with the Kryptonite rock functioning as his new 'heart'. Metallo subsequently attacked Superman again in a rampage which endangered not only the citizens of Metropolis but his own fellow soldiers. He was defeated by Superman once more.
Metallo has since come into the employ of Project 7734, the secret American military office that targets alien, and specifically Kryptonian, threats. Alongside Reactron, he is one of their primary offensive assets.
Convergence
Pre-Zero Hour Metallo is taken by Brainiac and is trapped in a under a dome for a year. During this time, Metallo creates a robot army to invade Metropolis. He and his robot army attack the city but are stopped by the Justice League International.
Fun Facts
Prior to becoming Metallo, John Corben may have been involved in the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Although no longer applicable, it is known that he was operating out of Gotham City at the time of their deaths.
After becoming Metallo, Corben had been destroyed, dismantled or remodeled many times. Metallo could assimilate volumes of metal into his body in order to maintain a desired physical size. He could control any and all robotic technology not already possessed or in action. He could also fire kryptonite radiation from his eyes or heart at will.

ALICE IN SLASHERLAND
For Stages review on 2SER 107.3 listen here)
Lewis Carroll meets Buffy meets Re-Animator: The Musical; there’s nigh a better title than Alice in Slasherland.
The latest from Old Fitz stalwarts Red Line Productions and the Last One Standing Theatre Company, a group of teenagers, some nerds, some jocks and all, well, teenagers, call upon themselves to fight a demonic presence that predictably invades their small town. Replete with gore which goes far beyond the imagination, while you will get a poncho be warned; it’s non-assigned seating and if you’re in the first 2-3 rows, just be prepared.
Alice in Slasherland is genuinely entertaining fun with a few great scares, keener felt by those closest to the action. Mixing light horror with a breadth of humour and satire, those less-accustomed to that which goes bump in the night needn’t be too wary.
Waning in sequences for oft-used gags and recurringly-stylised vignettes which call on more than one character to bring their stock-standard reactions to bear, the play proceeds to intermission on an uncommonly inefficacious cliffhanger and to maintain momentum could just as well have powered through to the end.
The fight scenes are very well done, in no small part due to the frenetic choreography of the cast of seven across the small stage and some excellent sleight of hand for a few of the more violent flourishes. The best sequence, one of the few involving the whole troupe, is played out to Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ as participants are mercilessly slaughtered by one of the better-rendered demon-bunnies since Donnie Darko.
The best recurring gag belongs to the full-suited flesh-like fiends; initially deployed for scares, the visages soon progress to some supreme deadpan humour as they are caused to shift props and mop up the floors. The advent of a car ride, traditionally staged and reminiscent of old Hollywood flicks, is abundantly charming and plays out like a yet more twisted version of the Scooby gang at work.
Justin Amankwah (The Flick) is a show highlight as the infernal teddy bear; think Ted with a hell-bent grudge. Laura Murphy is also a rambunctious stand-out as but one of the hellmouth’s spawn as she, among other cast members, takes on multiple roles.
Staged on dual levels, the design is actually less engaging than typically seen at the old Fitz; adorned by bland walls excepting a window which is deployed singularly well at the very beginning. The intent behind the use and design of the confines does become apparent very late in the piece, though it’s placement is not nearly so imaginative as near all else that transpires.
Alice in Slasherland is playing at the Old Fitz Theatre in Wooloomooloo, Sydney until May 11

Commercial Window Tinting: Maintaining Visual Privacy in Offices
Fewer walls, large window screens, common spaces, hot desking – all have become new norms of a modern workplace today. However, imagine a scenario where your office, its people or your sensitive information are constantly under prying eyes. Having larger-than-life glass windows makes your office look spacious and transparent. But at the same time, it attracts the attention of onlookers.
This is especially true for sensitive spaces like boardrooms, financial offices, etc. How can you improve the visual privacy in your office without compromising visibility? Commercial window tinting has become a great solution to this problem.
What is Commercial Window Tinting?
Window tinting is the process of using high-quality privacy films that help obscure office spaces to outside view whilst maintaining optical clarity from the inside. It can also be effective in reducing sight-induced distractionsinside the office, aswindow tinting helps cut-off views from outside while allowing enough light transmission into your office.
How Can Commercial Window Tinting Help Maintain Visual Privacy?
There is a variety of window films you can use to maintain visual privacy in your office. A widely-used option isone-way window film. It is a mirrored privacy film that provides high levels of privacy during the daytime. The window tinting offers a reflective finish that renders a one-way mirror effect during the day.
That means people outside your window are unable to see in through the glass when there is more brightness on their side than the other, i.e., during daylight. An interesting thing about this type of commercial window tinting is you can clearly see through the film from the inside. This is ideal for office spaces where you want more privacy in the daytime, such as ground floor windows, patio doors, etc.
Another option isan opaque window film that are available in frosted or sandblast appearances. These prevent the view from both sides, particularly suitable for applications inside the office.
Solar window films may also be the best solution for your commercial premises asit has a reflective coating, that prevents visibility through the glass while protecting against the sun’s UV rays.
Since window tinting restricts clear vision from the outside, it is effective in deterring criminal intrusion and vandalism.
Conclusion
Keeping these benefits in mind, make sure you choose an expert company specialising in commercial window tinting in Sydney. By installing high-quality window films, they can help maintain optimum visual privacy in offices.

Double Bay is a project designed by SAOTA. Set in a north-facing cove in Sydney’s vast natural harbour, the site borders a recreational park and a public pier which juts out into the bay. This element forms one axis for the site whilst a pristine beach, directly in front of the site, forms another.
From the principle park elevation that the new building appears as a collection of planes; a play on space, privacy and threshold. Graphite grey sail screens (made from “Kaynemaile,” a polycarbonate chainmail developed in New Zealand for the Lord of the Rings movies) are rigged just off the house providing privacy from the road. Timber cladding, plastered mass walls, a wood-clad soffit and the exaggerated cill of a bay window punched through the sail screens, are layered into further planes. This game creates depth in an otherwise linear façade and provides privacy whilst maximising light and views to the park. Set into this façade the stairwell is fully glazed; but wrapped protectively in a cloak of timber louvres. This gently curved outline contrasts with the surrounding crystalline box and mediates between the formal entrance and bedrooms above. Entry is at 90 degrees to the Bay, off the park. A ramp, edged by water, slopes gently up to the front door; the little rise adding to the sense of arrival. Here the “U” shaped plan of the house becomes clear; the entrance is a link between two wings, separated by an internal garden which, like an internal harbour, allows views through the spaces to the bay beyond. Seen from the courtyard a massive blank wall of the upper storey seems to weigh on the glazed levity of the ground floor, amplifying the bay view beneath it. The bayside wing of the house is one open plan space. Stairs, rather than walls, delineate the raised kitchen and family dining from more formal areas. These stairs extend seawards into the garden forming a line of axis drawing the eye out to the view and providing privacy from the public road alongside. The garden is raised above the towpath to provide additional privacy from the beach and to dissolve the distinction between the garden and bay from within. This is emphasised in the pool whose orientation and extension towards the water makes a clear connection between the two. An oversailing timber roof canopy connects the street side to the garden and the beach. It permeates the interior, presenting itself at odd moments, it protects and defines the collection of internal and external spaces composed beneath. From the water it is a defining motif; expressive of lightness, reflective of the sea and the canopies of the trees. From the street and bay view, the other predominant elevation of the house, the largely glazed lower story is lost below crisp white walls, black framed window boxes and sail screens. A large Lilly-Pilly tree was preserved and frames the street side of the elevation. Materials were carefully chosen to site the house; the use of wood, white walls and travertine floors reflect the seaside setting. Off-shutter concrete is used as a playful accent which, like the rendered walls, appears almost soft and textured in contrast to crisp folds of screen and aluminium. Architects, SAOTA, displayed their South African signature in this design with its sharp lines, light forms and the lush integration of nature which all combine to make the design feel at home in this special site. A playful character, the calculated blurring of boundaries and the fresh, layered composition bring into balance the domestic needs of a young family and the wow factor that this phenomenal site deserves. SAOTA’s sister company, the interior studio ARRCC, developed a refined décor palette to suit the home and complement the client’s artworks. As architects in association, TKD worked closely with the client, ensuring that SAOTA’s detailed design was delivered and a dream home realized. Their creativity, perseverance and commitment to design excellence was a key success factor. Lighting design by Point Of View and landscaping by Wyer & Co. combined with the dedication of main contractor, Horizon, to deliver a quality home with an exceptionally high level of finish.

Wall Chasing Sydney for Your Renovation
Wall chasing is the method of forming channels in concrete to house electrical pipework and conduits in an otherwise solid material. Because of its effectiveness at hiding cabling and pipework throughout the building in the walls of the building, wall chasing is widely used for construction and renovation projects to provide them with tidy, superior aesthetic qualities. Read on to learn how wall chasing for renovation works, its features, benefits, and more.
How Does Wall Chasing Work?
Wall chasing is a cost-effective, fast technique used in renovation projects to cut neat channels (also called chases) into masonry and concrete structures. During wall chasing, professionals use a hand-held cutting machine featuring a diamond blade to create a precise opening in the material being cut. The guard and blade can be set to cut the required depth and width. Parallel cuts can be created depending on the sockets and cables required.
Controlling the dust that concrete produces during the wall chasing process is crucial. For this, wall chasing services use specialized vacuum dust extraction equipment. Once the cutting is complete, a power drill, breaker, or chisel is typically used to break the centrepiece.
If the renovation project requires deeper chases or the concrete is too hard for the hand-held grinders, professionals use diamond floor saws to get the job done.
Features
There are several key features of wall chasing. These include the following:
• Wall chasing is a fast technique, and it is relatively dust-free because of an attached vacuum that collects the resultant dust before it escapes.
• Wall chasing is ideal for making cuts of precise depths and widths in concrete, screeds, plaster, render, or brickwork to create chases for conduits or pipes. These are essential for plumbing and electrical installations.
• Wall chasing companies utilize a precision technique of diamond cutting to create channels in the walls of the building. The use of pipes or cabling helps keep the channels tidy, safe, and out of sight.
Benefits of Wall Chasing for Renovation Projects
There are several key benefits of wall chasing. These include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Versatility: Thanks to various tools that can be used for such projects, wall chasing is very versatile and suitable for even the hardest and most established of concrete.
• Cleanliness: Thanks to the latest tools and techniques, wall chasing is generally far less messy and dirty than other methods. This is particularly true when an attached vacuum is used.
• Precision: Wall chasing companies can cut with extreme precision for a more secure fit for the wiring conduits or pipes and a neater overall finished product.
• No Water: Wall chasing can be done dry, so there’s no need to be concerned about the potential for a mess when using water.
• Appearance: You can use wall chasing to create decorative sections and increase the overall aesthetic appeal of your space. This makes it ideal for renovation projects.
• Solve Drilling Problems: Wall chasing can also solve virtually any drilling problem.
As you can see, there are many benefits of wall chasing services for renovation projects. Wall chasing Sydney is a complex job, so hire experienced professionals to create seamless, precise cuts to meet your requirements.

How Much Will Bathroom Remodeling Cost in Sydney?
If you are looking to remodel your bathroom, you may wonder how much it will cost. The answer to that question depends on many factors, including the size of the room and the scope of the work. In addition, there are unexpected issues you might run into, such as a lack of plumbing or water damage. It's important to prepare yourself for these potential problems before you begin any remodeling project.
If you're renovating your bathroom in Sydney, you'll want to ensure that you waterproof it properly. Waterproofing your bathroom can help protect your home from water damage, decay, and mould. To know more about Bathroom Remodeling, visit the Eastern Suburbs Bathroom Renovations or call 0415902838.
In New South Wales, only licensed waterproofers are allowed to complete waterproofing jobs. This is because the rules are based on Australian standards.
When you're remodeling your bathroom, you'll want to make sure that you're using the best waterproofing products available. These products can add years to the life of your bathroom.
Bathrooms that aren't waterproofed properly can cause damage to the floor, ceiling, and walls of the room. In addition to causing a water damage headache, they detract from the overall value of the home.
To avoid this, it's important to install waterproofing products before you begin any cosmetic work. Typically, this involves applying a liquid membrane over cracks and other places that could see water. After the waterproofing is applied, you'll need to allow it enough time to dry.
There are several ways to prepare renderings for bathroom remodeling. One of the best is a 3D rendering. It can save you thousands of hours and give you a sense of what your future bathroom will look like. This is especially true if you already know what you want.
Aside from the 3D rendering, you can also do some research. For example, you can find out what materials to use. You may also want to consider using a design-build company. These types of contractors understand the latest technologies and trends. They are also up to date on construction codes and building regulations.
If you are looking to update your bathroom, the best way to go is to use a professional. Their knowledge will ensure that your renovation is not only functional but will enhance the aesthetics of your space.
Adding a new bathroom to your existing floor plan is not for the faint of heart. The best part is it doesn't have to be expensive. To get the most out of your investment you'll need to consider factors such as square footage, location and cost. By considering all these factors you can be sure that your new bath is a winner.
In the bathroom remodeling Sydney market you'll find a myriad of choices. But it's best to choose a reputable company that offers a range of services. Whether you want a new bathroom installed, or a complete renovation, you can count on the experts at Nu-Trend to make your renovation dreams a reality.
If you're looking for a small to medium bathroom remodeling plan that works for you, call the professionals today.
The average bathroom renovation is a laborious endeavor, but one that can be completed with a hefty dose of patience. However, not all are created equal. For instance, a large percentage of bathroom remodelers have no clue about the best way to go about the task. That being said, you may want to consider hiring a small team of specialist contractors in order to get the job done right the first time round.
One way to go about this is to use the services of a reputable bathroom renovation company such as Bathroom Renovations Sydney. Known for their attention to detail, they have transformed hundreds of bathrooms over the years. Whether you are looking for a new vanity or a whole home makeover, they can help you achieve your bathroom remodeling goals.
When renovating your bathroom, it's important to plan ahead and stick to your budget. If you don't, you can end up with a budget overrun. Luckily, there are ways to avoid this and keep costs under control.
You can hire professional renovation companies to streamline the process. They will work with you to find the products you need and organise trades to get your job done. They will also handle waste management and ensure your trades show up on time.
Before you begin a bathroom renovation, it's essential to make a list of the materials and fixtures you need. Then, you can start to look at prices. Bathroom renovations can vary in cost, depending on size, fixtures, and style.
Renovations can take a couple of weeks to a few months. During the construction phase, there may be disturbances to your day-to-day life. For example, if you're remodeling your bathroom during holidays, it can be disruptive. To know more about Bathroom Remodeling, visit the Eastern Suburbs Bathroom Renovations or call 0415902838.

Principal Jeremy Bull and marketing director Tess Glasson, both of Alexander &CO, were always interested in purchasing the house next door to their Bondi Junction property, should it ever come up for sale. When it finally did 10 years later, they saw a rare opportunity to buy the property and convert this into a workspace of sorts.
‘We were looking for commercial properties, and we thought we don’t know how this will work, but let’s buy it and build a house “thing” that we can use to show clients through, and provide a working from home HQ/showpiece,’ says Jeremy.
That was the initial plan, but with Covid normalising more unorthodox working arrangements, Tess and Jeremy decided to make this their team’s permanent business headquarters.
‘It’s a house, it’s a residential showcase, and a working from home HQ. Broadly our workforce moves in and out, works from home, and comes in as they need to,’ explains Jeremy.
The space is also used for industry events, and occasionally for entertaining out of hours by Jeremy, Tess, and their four children who spill over from their house next door!
Works commenced on Alexander House in February 2020, which saw the previous house on site replaced with a new four-storey interior behind the original facade.
The floor plan now contains an open-plan with banquette seating to accommodate the practice’s team of 24; a voluminous basement area with workstations and materials; breakout spaces for meetings and quiet work; and three bathrooms. There’s also additional ‘wellness’ amenities, such as a steam room, outdoor shower, ice bath and pool.
As principal architect of the project, Jeremy’s vision was for a ‘safe space for reflection, experimentation and to nurture the creative spirit.’ This concept is reflected in the interiors, which incorporate a number of prototypes, reimagined works from previous projects, bespoke pieces created in collaborations with local craftspeople; and never-before-seen material applications.
A small sample of these include a series of outdoor furniture made in conjunction with Re. Studio Collective using recycled building waste from the original building and a rammed earth technique; the first ever use of Lutyens Bricks from Natural Brick Co; custom furniture by Hugh McCarthy and Athol Wright of CDF Studio; and lighting pendants made in collaboration with Shaun Dudley of The Lighting Guild, including a seven metre long pendant that connects all four levels.
‘The house is sort of a random menagerie of things we’ve always wanted to own for ourselves,’ says Jeremy.
Among the various influences referenced throughout are old chapels and churches, with their tonal palettes, double-height volumes, and limestone and sandstone walls that appear to erode away over time. The monolithic pink concrete table by Concrete Bespoke (which weighs 500kg and was craned in to the space) is also similar in form to an altar.
‘Although falling under one story or narrative, each of the rooms is quite specifically different in terms of techniques, materials and details,’ Jeremy says.
Sustainability was another key consideration, resulting in two underground tanks with a total water storage of 22,000 litres; a solar system that generates up to 45kWh of power daily; a Tesla Powerwall battery; and two underground Subpod worm farms processing up to 30 litres of food waste weekly.
Overall, the biggest ambition of this project lies in its deliberate ambiguity. Not simply a gorgeous project, Alexander House is an architectural showcase – a purpose-built live-work set up aiming to challenge preconceptions of home, family, and work.
