Best thing happened today
Ok so, I’m at the clinic because my tonsils have swelled and I can’t eat or drink anything without being in pain. So, all different sorts of people are here.
This includes two small kids who do not speak English and next to them is the only available seat.
So, the kids (again no English and I think I’m the only white person to come near them) look at me like I am the weirdest thing ever and begin to speak to me, which I do not understand but I do encourage them to keep talking.
Eventually, the boy notices that my car keys are out and available to be taken (They really aren’t as they are attached to my belt loop) so, when both his mother and I aren’t looking he comes up to me, gets in between my legs and grabs my keys. 🤣🤣
I don’t know what mom says but she looks mortified.
Kids are great man

Why Should You Use Urgent Care for an X-Ray Instead of the ER
If you suffer from an injury or experience unexplained pain, timely and accurate medical imaging can be a critical tool in quickly diagnosing your condition to ensure that proper treatment will follow. X-rays for injuries to areas such as fractures, joint problems and non-emergency cases are among the most widely used test techniques. But when you do, where you choose to get this service can have a huge impact on how much money it costs and the wait time. Many times, if it is not life-threatening, choosing an X-ray at your local urgent-care facility will be easier on the wallet and quicker turnaround time than going to the ER. Reasons to Choose Urgent Care X-Rays Instead of the ER
1. Shorter Wait Times
The other most common reasons to be x-rayed in an urgent care rather than the ER is wait time. ERs treat patients in order of who needs immediate care, i.e. life-threatening injuries go first. ER wait times to get an X-ray of a minor injury or not urgent pain could be hours. However, urgent care centers are generally faster with far less waiting times for X-ray services. Patients are typically seen in order of arrival, making for a more predictable and less wasteful process.
2. Get care at a fraction of the cost versus an ER
The emergency room can cost a lot of money, and if your injury isn't terrible; it might be better to not go. Thus, an urgent care X-ray can be a cheaper option in some cases — at least for people with insurance and clear up-front pricing structures. Some of those savings originate from staffing and resources that are at different levels compared to an ER, Roesener said. Urgent care centers offer a very affordable alternative for non-emergent imaging.
3. The hours and locations are perfect
Urgent care centers are commonly located in locations that allow easy access for residents. While most of those are primary care offices with regular business hours, urgent care clinics typically have evening and weekend availability when you need X-ray access the most. This convenience is especially good for injuries that happen outside of business hours or if you need a rapid diagnosis without having to wait on an actual doctor.
4. Nowhere - Rapid Access Images For Non-life Threatening Injuries
Urgent care X-ray services are a suitable option for diagnosing many non-emergent injuries, including fractures (broken bones), sprains and minor joint problems. If you think it is only a minor fracture yet not showing extreme symptoms, urgent care clinic will be best. These facilities have healthcare professionals trained to evaluate and read X-rays so they can diagnose potential injuries on the spot, for which treatment or referred care is indicated.
5. Fast Diagnostics in House with X-Ray Services
Most urgent care near me have X-ray facilities within their clinic which eliminate your visit to Imaging Center separately. This enables faster diagnosis: the urgent care staff can review the results in-house, and prescribe a course of treatment right away. Small ERs or primary care offices, on the other hand, might have to send patients off-site for imaging appointments that could add extra days of turnaround time.
6. Personalized Attention
The setting of an urgent care clinic is typically less chaotic as compared to that of the emergency room, where staff members must often balance extreme cases and emergencies. Urgent care provides more personalized attention, they are able to explain the results of an X-ray & answer any questions you may have about your condition or treatment. This added level of care can give relief and overall make a big difference, especially to the anxiety with injuries being so unknown.
7. X-ray: Yes (If insurance does not cover Urgent Care visits you will likely need to pay in full for the X-rays)
X-ray services can be provided at urgent care centers by most insurance plans, which means that it is affordable. Even if yes (though ER is not that affordable unless you don't mind bigger co-pays and deductible). All of the lower fees at urgent care are passed on to patients which is why choosing an x-ray at Urgent Care can ultimately save time and money, specifically for those with insurance. Furthermore, freestanding urgent care centers offer affordable pricing options for self-pay patients regardless of insurance status.
8. Improved PCP Follow Up
The wait is usually less than at an Emergency Room, and the system for getting you in and out quickly due to streamlined processes that are established. With this efficiency follow-up with your primary or specialist is more likely to happen, which will help maintain continuity in care. Most urgent care centers will give you a copy of your X-ray results, or alternatively they can also immediately send them to your primary doctor that way there is no disconnect and follow-up continues seamlessly.
9. Less Stressful Environment
Whether patients are walking or being transported, first impressions make for a stressful environment. This space can feel overwhelming for some who are already on edge about getting hurt. Instead, urgent care centers offer a much quieter space, rather than the hustle and bustle of an emergency room. This is particularly beneficial for children, or anyone who may find a trip to an emergency room stressful.
10. Travelers and Visitors Can Easily Access
When traveling or in an unfamiliar city, often one of the quickest and easiest ways to obtain an X-ray for a more urgent injury. For example, there are a lot of urgent care centers near the tourist areas in Las Vegas so it is easier for tourists to come and get imaging without having to understand how the ER registration / billing works. At an urgent care, you can usually get in and out faster than other medical treatment settings (specialist offices & emergency rooms) when your primary care provider cannot see you right away.
More on Choosing Urgent Care for X-Rays
In lots of non- emergency cases, urgent care might be better just to get an x-ray as opposed to going into the ER. Expatica documents that urgent care centers can offer quicker service, lower costs and the convenience of not having to visit an off-site imaging center for individuals who need rapid testing. Whether youve got a minor fracture, sprain, or simply want to prevent the expense and hold-up of going to an emergency situation space (ER), getting your X-ray at urgent care can be practical.
Remember, the next time you have any non-critical diagnostic imaging need — get yourself to an urgent care center like Sahara West Urgent Care. A speed test delivers results in an efficient, cost-effective, and patient-focused manner that also prioritizes quality of care. Visit My website for more information
