"You told Pema that you still love me," his voice barely a whisper. "Did you mean it?" Lin's gaze faltered for a moment, but she quickly steeled herself. "You heard it?" "Yes," Tenzin replied, moving closer. "Just outside the Air Temple." "Well, I lied," Lin said, her voice colder than she intended. "I don't love you." She turned her back to him, hoping the distance would create a barrier strong enough to hide her true feelings. But Tenzin wasn't ready to let go. "Say it again," he demanded, his tone soft but firm. "I don't love you, Tenzin," Lin repeated, her back still turned. Tenzin slowly approached her, gently turning her to face him. His eyes searched hers for the truth she was trying to bury. "Say it again," he whispered softly. Lin's resolve began to crumble under his gaze. "I don't love you," she said, her voice wavering. "Again," Tenzin whispered, his hands cupping her face. Lin's breath hitched as she felt the warmth of his touch. "I don't..." "Lin," Tenzin interrupted, his thumb caressing her cheek. "Say it." Tears welled up in Lin's eyes as she looked into his. "I love you," she finally admitted, her voice breaking. Tenzin's eyes softened, and he pulled her into a tender embrace. "I love you too," he murmured, his lips brushing her temple. Lin clung to him, the weight of her suppressed emotions crashing down on her. "I love you, Tenzin," she repeated, her voice muffled against his chest.

I am just here to do my job." Pema stepped closer, her voice laced with suspicion. "Is that really all? Or are you just using it as an excuse so you can be with Tenzin?" Lin felt a surge of frustration. "Why do our conversations always end up being about Tenzin? You're obsessed. He's already your husband, right?" Turning her back, Lin began to walk away, but Pema's next words stopped her in her tracks. "Do you still love him?" Lin froze, the question hanging in the air like a heavy cloud. Slowly, she turned to face Pema again. Pema's eyes were intense, searching. "Do you still love Tenzin?" Unbeknownst to them, Tenzin was nearby, overhearing the conversation. His heart pounded as he listened, his breath catching in his throat. Lin met Pema's gaze, her voice steady but laced with emotion. "Do you really want to know?" She paused, the silence thick with tension. "Yes, I still love your husband." Tenzin couldn't believe what he was hearing. Pema gritted her teeth, her face a mask of anger and pain. "Are you planning to steal him from me?" Pema demanded, her voice trembling. Lin's expression softened slightly. "Steal him? Huh! Why, Pema? Do you think I'm capable of doing that?" Pema swallowed hard, her confidence faltering. She shook her head a little as she hesitantly answered, "N...no." Lin's eyes bore into Pema's, her voice gentle but firm. "Are you threatened? You sound uncertain. Don't worry, Pema. I won't take Tenzin from you if he loves you. But the real question is, does he truly love you?" Pema's face paled, her eyes filling with uncertainty. She opened her mouth to respond, but no words came out. The silence between them was deafening.
