I can't get this whole piece to show. But it is made of me as all of my paintings are. At my last art show a woman came who was an art student. She had a series of questions for me - about certain painters and certain techniques - most of which I was not familiar. Finally, exasperated, she exclaimed, Well Don't You Want to KNOW??? This was a big moment for me. I realized not only did I not care to know, more so, I did not feel bad about myself for telling her so. No. I don't want to know I said. I spent the first forty or so years of my life trying to fit SOME IDEA of who I was supposed to be and what I was supposed to be. I don't want to do this anymore. And I don't desire to carry it into my painting trying to get "right" some technique or whatever. Painting for me is about discovering ME. With each painting, more of ME shows up. Sometimes it's pretty. And sometimes it's not. It is the greatest act of courage, this Creativity. This willingness, every time, to NOT KNOW. And to Dive in ANY WAY. This painting found a lot of me today. HAVE YOU BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG?

That question... that word... “WAITING”. it can be applied to almost what-not situations like...

for the bus, for the food in a fast food chain, for the loo line, for the train, for a letter, for a text message, for an answer, for forgiveness, for a lover, for appreciation...

Is it not weird that everyone is waiting for something? Do we really have to wait? for how long does one even have to wait?

This question.. always bother me... and ironically I have been waiting for an answer. It is not because I was not looking for it.. nor I am a bum who only thinks I have been waiting my whole life (NO HELL, NO)~I am not is a bum who does nothing in life but breath (NO, OKAY? NO). I have things in my hands, I am a student, a sister, a lover, a daughter, and a citizen of this wonderful country. Sure I can be a bum sometime, I think everyone can be sometimes! (NO DON’T YOU DARE DISAGREE WITH ME IN THIS)

Going back, waiting is something I have a love-hate-indifferent relationship with, I love waiting especially if I know I am waiting for something that is special~and obviously I don;t have any example in mind. I hate waiting when it comes to something I know would ruin my day, or would make me think otherwise like if I had have made the right decision again~like, results, people (you’re not close specifically), meetings and the like~and believe me, there are many things that I hate when it has something to do with waiting. Sometimes I also have this indifferent feeling towards “waiting” itself~but this is, you know, rarely!!!~I would not mind waiting and would  not even care waiting if sometimes I think I have lots of free time, or if I don’t have anything to do... or if I just feel like not doing anything but wait...

you see.. this kinds of relationship I have towards “waiting” differs and it depends to its time span... long term and short term. 

If I have to wait for a long term... say like marriage, babies, career... I am less impatient. However, if it were otherwise, I grew impatient by just a second (OKAY THIS IS A BIT OF A EXAGGERATION). But I just have to admit... I get impatient on waiting when the internet connection starts to buffer... when I have to wait for an extra 20 minutes for my food and name more....

The lesson behind this long-tailed note about waiting is really... WHAT DO WE GET FROM WAITING.... Did you get that? I  hope yes...
