Some old Chao doodles I did for a "spider type" Chao back when I was still deciding what type Nine's Chao (since named Cody) could evolve into

The idea was "Cody" spends so much time with Nine that its wings developed the ability to split into spider legs similar to Nine's mechanical tails, and would scuttle around walls and Nine would have to chase after it each time

The idea was scrapped for a number of reasons, being very hard to draw was definitely a contributor but it also just didn't feel right, as much as I liked the idea, it wasn't clicking with me. It didn't fit the Chao to me. Maybe it was because the idea of the Chao scuttling around walls like a damn spider was too terrifying for them or maybe it was because I have arachnophobia. But the idea didn't stick.

Maybe I can still use the idea for something else though
