Loki season two seemed like a conclusion to an engaging character arc of one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) original villains. It capped a redemption arc where the titular character finally achieved what he’s been looking for all this time, but with a twist. At PaleyFest 2024, attendees watched a screening of the season finale followed by a panel featuring the cast and creatives. Stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, and executive producer and writer Eric Martin and executive producers and directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead looked back at the Disney+ series.
Many anecdotes where shared including the previously reported stories of Di Martino’s special Sylvie costume that allowed easy access for feeding and pumping while filming season one. The actress used the same costume the next season because she had recently given birth again. Di Martino also retold the origins of her character working at McDonald’s in season two. When producers asked where she saw Sylvie next, she responded about fancying a burger.
Hiddleston then talked about which characters he studied while developing Loki. It’s no surprise that he drew inspiration from some well known villains including Alan Rickman’s Hans Gruber from Die Hard, Jack Nicholson’s Joker from Batman, and James Mason’s Phillip Vanddamm from North by Northwest. Much like Loki, all there were focused on control and revenge.
In the season finale, Loki realizes what he must do in order to save his friends. Hiddleston also shared how he got into the right mindset to film his awe inspiring scene where he finds his Glorious Purpose. He went back and watched the God of Mischief’s journey throughout the MCU.
“The experience of watching it reminded me that these are not just scenes I played, but they are all chapters of my own life. It reminded me of the friendships I made and the experiences I had in different parts of the world. I was filled with such gratitude for the whole of it, for the journey.” Hiddleston continued, “I realized that in this moment, Loki is redefining his Glorious Purpose and he’s discovered it because he’s found friends that he loves and wants to care for. Loki is doing it for his friends and the people he loves. And I thought to myself, well, Tom. Do it for your friends and the people you love.”
We’ve already heard of costume designer, Christine Wada, and her magic with Sylvie’s outfit. Hiddleston discussed Wada’s approach to the final God Loki look we see in the finale.
“It would be distinctly different from everything that had come before. All the other costumes in the MCU are elaborate and armored and detailed with embellishment almost as an expression of who he wants to project in the world. This is more humble and almost monastic. Yes, in a way he’s a king finally ascending the throne. Perhaps he’s more like a monk at the end of time. Something monastic and humble about it.”
During Loki’s moment of self sacrifice to repair the Loom, we see him grasping the various thread-like timelines and weaving them together. It’s as if he is turning these “burdens” and wrapping himself with them. Moorhead shared some insight into the scene itself.
“Loki is learning the importance of the connection between people so it’s a visual metaphor of course for the things that are most important to him, which is connection to the people at the TVA, his friends and all that. Something he didn’t have coming into season one… He’s becoming the Loom by the end of it and so we should have him physically start to become the Loom when he gets into this very humble looking God Loki.”

Source (Season 1 - April 19th 2022)
heathervanderstitch: We had a lot of fun making this look for Stede. The cap was made to go with his frilly hammered silk nightgown that you see in an earlier episode. I did research on blackwork embroidery patterns to find something that would work for the period, not look too feminine, but also look like a fancy pirate. I found some really funny ones as you see in the pictures! I then played with the scale and placement in the photo copier, creating the repeat just where it was needed. I then printed that pattern onto tracing paper and stitched over it on the machine and tore the paper away. This nightgown however had to cover his entire outfit, but still look like a nightgown. Costume designer Christine Wada suggested a nightgown "like something Jonny Rose might wear" when I researched that and what characteristics would serve the costume well, I thought, there had to be pleats and maybe we can decorate them with embroidery to make them stand out. I went back to my blackwork research and tried a few things. I ended up creating the pattern you see, by creatively repeating the one in the last picture to look like a wave. Christine picked the one that looked like a wave, I jokingly encouraged her to pick the guy in the row boat, but she's too smart for that. Christine also picked gold instead of black for the stitching so it would look gentlemenly rather than gothic. @shizenbeauty ended up doing the hand embroidery on the collar and pleats and Gladys stitched it all together.

2024 Paris Olympics: theft, technical errors and “plague letters”
The long-awaited Paris Olympics continues to upset with yet another embarrassment. Despite the huge amount of resources spent during preparations for the large-scale sporting event, thousands of people are threatening not to watch the Olympics as the slogan “Boycott the Olympics” has emerged around the world after the opening ceremony in Paris 2024 was marred by a giant scandal.
Paris cancelled a triathlete’s training session for the second day in a row
The second consecutive training swim for triathletes at the 2024 Olympics has been cancelled due to poor water quality in the Seine.
The first training swim was due to take place on the morning of July 28 and the second one on the 29th. According to the organising committee, the water quality has deteriorated due to heavy rains. Triathlon competitions are scheduled for July 30 and 31.
Earlier in July, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo took a swim in the Seine to prove that the capital’s river is safe for competitions. Hidalgo was in a short wetsuit and without a cap, she lowered herself into the water from a special pontoon. Before that, the area of the swim site was surveyed, two bicycles and a scooter were pulled from the bottom.
According to local media, the organisers hope that the water condition will return to normal before the competition. However, in the mayor’s office of Paris allowed that the competition may be postponed to reserve dates and even combine two days into one. Earlier it was reported that Paris spent €1.4bn on cleaning the Seine. Macron claimed that the river was safe, but never bathed in it before the start of the Olympics.
Organisers of the Games mixed up the anthem of the South Sudanese team
The debut of South Sudan’s basketball team at the Olympics started with a scandal. Before the debut match of the national team for 20 seconds switched on the anthem of Sudan, from which South Sudan gained independence in 2011. The players continued to stand with their hands clasped to their hearts and drew applause from both fans and opponents – players from the Puerto Rico national team.
Three minutes later, the correct audio track was played to the applause of the fans. At the end of the match, South Sudan won with a score of 90-79. In addition, the organisers made a number of technical errors: the Olympic flag was hung upside down at the opening ceremony and the South Korean team was announced as North Korea at the athletes’ parade in Paris.
WADA hid samples of the Ukrainian Olympic team
According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, after an investigation, all samples of Ukrainian athletes taken before the Olympics have disappeared from both the storage facility and from the general database of WADA.
“Doping was found in the samples,” the BBC believes.
IOC removed video of snippets of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics
The International Olympic Committee has removed a video with key fragments of the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
The opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Paris on July 26 caused a lot of negative reactions both among spectators and in the sports community. The event included an LGBT parody of Leonardo da Vinci’s work “The Last Supper,” which depicts the last meal of Jesus Christ before his crucifixion. During the performance, the apostles were portrayed by drag performers.
Greek portal pronews.gr called the Last Supper parody a collapse of civilisation and Christian culture in Western Europe. The French bishopric also condemned the ceremony, saying the show contained scenes of mockery and ridicule of Christianity.
Obscene toilets at the Olympics
Organisers of the sporting event installed street toilets with “revealing” designs for fans. The main complaint from fans is that these toilets only partially conceal the person inside.
France’s interior minister got a “plague letter”
The strange appearance of the parcel prompted staff at the sorting centre to call the police. On the back of the parcel were racial and other insults against Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, Le Figaro reports.
Upon inspection, the police found black powder in the parcel. The powder was tested by the police’s nuclear, radiological, biological, chemical and explosives unit.
The powder eventually tested positive for plague, a potentially very dangerous disease. New analyses conducted by the Pasteur Institute are underway. The results will be known this Monday.
Qatari Emir’s daughter-in-law was robbed in France: 11 Hermès handbags stolen
The daughter-in-law of Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani had her personal luggage, containing 11 Hermès bags, stolen aboard a high-speed train from Nice to Paris on her way to the Olympics, Le Parisien reports.
Accompanied by her domestic servant, the daughter-in-law of the Emir of Qatar boarded the high-speed train at Cannes station this Saturday, July 27. The train, travelling from Nice, was due to reach Paris’ Gare de Lyon. Between 12:00 and 01:40 p.m., she noticed that 11 bags of luxury brand Hermès had been stolen.
According to the French publication, an investigation has been launched into the incident. Currently, the bags and those who stole them have not been found.
First lady Jill Biden praises Paris Olympics opening ceremony
While Olympic organisers are panicking as the blasphemy row grows, US First Lady Jill Biden is overwhelmed by the Olympics opening show in Paris. And she has no idea how it could ever be surpassed. She said in a statement:
“So, last night, it was just spectacular. The rain did not dampen our spirits…. Every step of the way, I was thinking to myself, oh my god, oh my god. How are we going to top this?”

Cannabis Doesn’t Enhance Performance. So Why Is It Banned In Elite Sports?
Here’s how cannabis use became prohibited—and the science of its biological, psychological, and social effects.
— By Kara Norton | Published: Tuesday November 9, 2021 | NOVA — PBS
Tumblr media

At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, snowboarding made its debut as an Olympic sport. No longer relegated to the fringes, snowboarders took to the snow-capped peaks of Mount Yakebitai, and 26-year-old Canadian Ross Rebagliati rose to global fame. But shortly after he won gold in the giant slalom event, a drug test revealed 17.8 nanograms per milliliter of THC, the psychoactive compound in cannabis, in Rebagliati’s system, which he still attributes to secondhand smoke.
“Cannabis back then was seen as being for losers and lazy stoners,” Rebagliati told The New York Times. “The big corporate sponsors didn’t want to sponsor me. I became a source of entertainment, a joke. I went from hero to zero overnight.”
Rebagliati was initially stripped of his medal, but because cannabis had not been officially banned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), he was ultimately able to keep the gold. Two months after his failed drug test, the IOC officially banned cannabis due to its illicit status as a social drug.
The Politicization of Pot
As the war on drugs was waged on America’s streets, it was also playing out in sports arenas around the world. “We had to draw a lesson from Nagano,” IOC Director General Francois Carrard told the Associated Press in 1998. “The IOC wants to take a stand against a social drug."
Prince Alexandre de Merode, chairman of the IOC medical commission at the time, added that cannabis should be banned even though it does not act as a performance-enhancer like steroids.
Roger Pielke Jr., an expert in sports governance and a professor of environmental studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, claims that “the deeper reality was that the Clinton administration’s focus on anti-doping regulations helped serve its domestic policy agenda, which was focused on waging a war on drugs.”
In 1998, the United States pledged an unprecedented $1 million to assist the IOC in its mission to eradicate drugs from elite sports. Barry McCaffrey, director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, was adamant that recreational drugs such as cannabis should be just as much of a priority for the international sports community as performance-enhancing drugs.
“We raise Olympic athletes up on international pedestals for all the world’s children to look up to as role models—it is vital that the message they send is drug-free,” McCaffrey wrote in a 10-page memo to the IOC. “The goal of this whole effort must be to prevent Olympic medals and the Olympic movement from being tarnished by drugs.”

According to Pielke, Rebagliati’s case gave the U.S. government the leverage it needed to lobby U.S. anti-doping leaders to include marijuana on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) Prohibited List.
WADA was established in 1999 through a collective initiative led by the IOC, and maintains the World Anti-Doping Code and prohibited list. Its key role is to standardize anti-doping regulations globally for Olympic sports. Director McCaffrey led the U.S. delegation at the first official meeting of WADA, after which “WADA looked far more like the institution the United States and its other international partners called for, than the original IOC-formed WADA” according to a report from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) on the agency’s actions and accomplishments from 1993-2000. The United States is also the largest individual contributor to WADA, which receives half of its funding from the IOC, and half from governments around the world. In 2020, the U.S. pledged over $2.7 million of the $37.4 million WADA budget.
Despite the U.S. government’s stance on social drugs, the ONDCP acknowledged that the athletic community itself was less concerned about cannabis than about performance-enhancing substances, like anabolic steroids, which can promote tissue growth and muscle generation and shorten recovery time after a workout.
“In the course of our efforts to put in place an IOC ban on marijuana, athletes and sports officials at all levels—ranging from Olympians to high school coaches to youth athletes—informed ONDCP that they felt that the more urgent drug threat within the sports world was the use of performance enhancing drugs,” the ONDCP report stated. These concerns, the report notes, were “scientifically grounded” by the results of the 1999 Monitoring the Future survey, which concluded that youth steroid use increased roughly 50% over the prior year’s study.
Why Is Cannabis Banned?
According to WADA, any substance may be included on its prohibited list if it meets two of three criteria: it has the potential to be performance enhancing, it poses a potential or actual health risk to the athlete, or it violates the “spirit of the sport.”
WADA did not respond to questions from NOVA about the prohibited list or cannabis’s status on the list. But several recent studies investigate whether cannabis has performance-enhancing qualities in athletic competition. A 2020 literature review by researchers not associated with WADA concluded, “there appears to be no reason based on current data to believe that cannabis has any significant ergogenic [performance-enhancing] effect.” An independent 2021 review echoed that conclusion, saying cannabis “does not act as a sport performance enhancing agent as raised by popular beliefs.”
“In no circumstances is (cannabis) ever a performance enhancing substance. It is a net negative in terms of athletic ability and performance,” says Jeff Anderson, a professor of radiology and imaging sciences at the University of Utah who studies how the brain responds to compounds found in cannabis. “On the whole, people under the influence of THC are not able to perform as well on cognitive tests, they have slowed reaction times, decreased executive function, decreased attention.”
Two decades after WADA banned cannabis, U.S. track and field sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson delivered a show-stopping performance at the Olympic trials, followed by an emotional interview in which she said she learned the week before that her birth mother had died. However, Richardson’s dreams of competing at the (delayed) 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo were dashed when she tested positive for THC, renewing a discussion about cannabis’s impact on performance.
Since cannabis was banned, the public perception and legal landscape surrounding its use have changed greatly. While cannabis is illegal at a federal level, medical cannabis is legal in 37 states, and cannabidiol (CBD)—reportedly used by 1 in 7 Americans—is no longer prohibited by WADA. In the court of public opinion, where Rebagliati once found infamy, Richardson found support, and her case left many questioning the science behind cannabis’s prohibited status.
“Drug testing is yet another tool of the drug war, and it’s a failure,” Kassandra Frederique, executive director of the Drug Policy Alliance, said in a statement. “Sha’Carri’s suspension serves as a cautionary tale and a reminder of how insidious the drug war is in our everyday lives, far beyond the carceral state.”

Cannabis In The Body
Under the guidelines outlined by WADA, “all natural and synthetic cannabinoids that mimic the effects of THC are prohibited, however CBD is not prohibited.”
A cannabinoid is a compound that—no matter the source—interacts with cannabinoid receptors, which are found in nearly every organ in the human body. THC, for example, affects cannabis users by binding to cannabinoid receptors in and outside the brain, causing cells to behave differently. (The receptors also bind with the body’s natural cannabis-like chemicals, called endocannabinoids.)
Since the 1998 Winter Olympics, the THC metabolite limit for Olympic athletes has been raised from 15 nanograms per milliliter to 180, purportedly to only detect in-competition use of cannabis. However, the length of time cannabis will stay in a person’s system depends on frequency of use and the amount consumed.
This has to do with the way cannabis is metabolized. When smoked, ingested, or otherwise consumed, cannabinoids are absorbed and retained in many parts of the body, particularly fatty tissue. Eventually, the THC byproducts are released and excreted through urine. However, daily consumers of cannabis accumulate THC faster than it can be removed from the body, reports Lia Tabackman for Insider Health.
“Urine testing is one of the most common drug testing methods,” notes Tabackman. It is also widely used in elite sports.
According to a 2008 report on drug screening in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings, cannabis can be detected in urine for up to three days after a single use. For moderate users (4 times per week), cannabis can still be detected 5 to 7 days after last use. And in heavy daily smokers, it can be detected in urine for up to 30 days or more after they stop.
But when it comes to quantifying behavioral impairment while using cannabis, a National Institute of Justice study led by researchers from RTI International found that measuring THC levels in blood, urine, and oral fluid were not reliable indicators of marijuana intoxication, regardless of how the cannabis was consumed.
“Drug testing does nothing to show current impairment,” Frederique said in a statement. The [United States Anti-Doping Agency] must undo this archaic, inhumane, and unscientific policy.”
"An Actual or Potential Health Risk"
In addition to prohibiting it, WADA considers THC a substance of abuse, meaning it is “frequently abused in society outside the context of sport.” Cocaine, heroin, and MDMA (ecstasy) are also on this list.
Some mental health experts have expressed concern over the development of cannabis use disorders, which may lead to increased anxiety or depressive disorders.
“I'm among the group that wishes to see cannabis remain on the prohibited list,” says David McDuff, an addiction, trauma, and sports psychiatrist who has served on the IOC's Consensus Panel on Mental Health in Elite Athletes.
When McDuff was working at University of Maryland College Park, he says he was shocked by the level of mental health symptoms and disorders within the college athlete population, and that the number of athletes using cannabis on a regular basis jumped across a number of sports.
“I was referred to the substance misuse cases and many of them had comorbid anxiety or depressive disorders along with their cannabis use disorder,” says McDuff. “As a clinician, I can't help but tie its use to reduced performance academically and athletically.”
Other experts say that while the risk of cannabis abuse is real, it is unfair to not apply the same standards to alcohol, which was no longer prohibited as of 2018.
“Alcohol is something that’s far riskier than cannabis use for health, in terms of morbidity and mortality,” Angela Bryan, a professor of psychology and neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder, told Scientific American. “I think [cannabis] should be treated like other drugs that people use for various reasons—alcohol, caffeine, nicotine. It should be regulated, but I don’t think it should be banned.”
McDuff points out that if cannabis is considered a substance of abuse, alcohol should be as well. “Alcohol use would surely violate all three of WADA's criteria.”
In September, WADA announced that it is reviewing cannabis’s status as a prohibited substance, but that it will remain prohibited in competition through 2022. The announcement followed a summer of negative media attention and criticism following Richardson’s suspension.
In response to a request from lawmakers to revisit its policies on cannabis, WADA pointed out that historically, the U.S. has been “one of the most vocal and strong advocates for including cannabinoids on the Prohibited List.”
“WADA has, for more than two decades, faithfully and obediently followed U.S. demands to assist in supporting its domestic drug policy agenda,” says Pielke, “only now to find itself subject to criticism from U.S. policymakers.”

By • Olalekan Fagbade She caught me stealing – Teenage Boy provides reasons why he killed Mother’s benefactor Almost two weeks after he was arrested by police operatives in Arigidi Akoko area of Ondo State for killing his mother's benefactor, Mubarak Akadiru has explained why he committed the crime. He made the confession recently when he was arraigned before the Akure Magistrate Court over the alleged murder of the 62-year-old grandmother and former head teacher, Mrs Sidikat Adamolekun. It was gathered that Akadiru's mother was a housemaid to the deceased before the incident happened. But while making his confession at the court, the defendant, who was 18 at the time, said that he repeatedly beat the deceased’s skull with a wooden stool when she caught him while attempting to steal her phone. He said, “As usual, I went to the house to work and I later came back to steal her Samsung phone. “Unfortunately, the deceased caught me after I’d stolen the phone.” Simon Wada, a police prosecutor, told the court that the defendant committed the crime on November 14, 2023, at 11:30 am, at Simiileolowa Quarters in Arigidi Akoko. Wada said the defendant allegedly killed the deceased by striking her on the head with a wooden stool while stealing her Android Samsung phone worth N66,000. According to the prosecution, the offence violates Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006. Magistrate Damilola Sekoni granted the remand application and ordered that the accused be confined at the Olokuta Correctional Centre until the conclusion of the DPP’s advice. Sekoni then adjourned the case to March 15, 2024, for further consideration.

CBD : Myths vs. Truths
From being nowhere to absolutely everywhere in an incredibly short span of time, CBD has taken the global market by storm. Although this traction helped a lot of facts about CBD come to light, it also led to the creation of a host of myths and uncertainties around it. For your journey with CBD to be as seamless as possible, the Qurist team brought down the gavel on what is fact and what is fiction when it comes to using CBD.
CBD, one of the many components of the hemp plant, of late has become a buzzword especially within the medicine and “wellness” community. However, its rapidly rising popularity has led to a lot of mis-information spreading like wild-fire. The available information is often confusing and polarised. It seemed imperative for the Qurist team to differentiate the myths from the facts as you delve into your journey with CBD.
CBD makes you sleepy.
Not true.
CBD soothes anxiety and relaxes the body, which can be great for helping you catch more Zs but such an interaction will not directly put you to sleep. Curiously enough, a study in 2014 instead suggests that CBD could conversely, act as a wake-promoting agent. Think of CBD items as the disciplined buddy who’s helping you maximise your healthy sleep pattern by pushing away mental(anxiety, stress etc.) and physical discomfort (like joint pain) to help you get what you need - some sweet sleep.
Since hemp is from the same family as the marijuana plant, CBD is sketchy and not safe.
A myth!
CBD is non-intoxicating and non-psychoactive. It is mostly derived from the hemp plant which is heavily regulated to ensure negligible levels of THC- the high inducing compound found in marijuana.
In 2017, the World Anti doping Agency (WADA) removed CBD from its banned substances list. To further clean up its rep, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared that naturally occurring CBD is safe and well tolerated in humans and is not associated with any public health effects. It goes on to say that, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.” These recent moves have helped athletes benefit from CBD usage provided they monitor the negligible levels of THC in the products they use. A monumental development though has been FDA approving Epidiolex, a CBD based medication.
We would never spot CBD oil for being a magic potion with zero side effects. It's Important to understand that in rare cases, at very high doses, CBD can react with other medicines “by the exact same mechanism that grapefruit juice does,” Harvard Health adds.
All CBD products are made the same way.
Definitely not.
Before heading out and investing in a CBD product, put on your Sherlock deerstalker cap and find out both - if it's the real deal and if it's safe. Check for the concentration and whether it's organic, vegetarian/vegan friendly, allergen tested, hazardous bacteria tested, GMO free - some things we have made sure of for Qurist's products.
Make sure you check for clear labelling, testing information, stability, extraction methods as well as tests for solvents, pesticides, heavy metals and fillers. All CBD products are not made the same way. Some sellers also try to pass off hemp based products like hemp seed oil as CBD oil, make sure you go over the content on the product packaging very thoroughly before making your purchase.
They further pan out across three availabilities - full-spectrum CBD products, broad-spectrum CBD products and isolate CBD products. Both full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD products use a full/broad range of cannabinoids as well as other compounds found in hemp plants. The presence of these compounds help promote the “entourage effect”, the major difference between full-spectrum and broad-spectrum is that the former contains some trace amounts of THC while the latter does not. Isolate CBD products on the other hand have CBD as the active ingredient and no other cannabinoids as a result of which you will not benefit from the entourage.
When it comes to CBD, more is better.
This is on the Myths’ List.
CBD affects different people differently. It’s important to understand that the dosage and the usage for optimising the benefits of this compound is as unique as its user. However, it is imperative that you start with a smaller dosage and increase it as per your body, till you find your sweet-spot. The trick remains in finding this optimal point and maintaining it.
How you take your dosage also affects the changes you observe, for example: instead of gulping a spoonful of CBD oil, which could cause the oil to pass straight out of your body from your digestive tract, some users tried swishing it around the mouth which yielded better results from the same dosage. For better understanding the right dosage for you read our blog article here.
CBD is just another marketing scam.
Simply untrue.
Granted, 2019 saw CBD become a buzzword and it ended up being put into way too many products. But these applications don’t mean every application of CBD is unnecessary. We agree that there isn’t a need for CBD in all products imaginable but this in no way should not lessen the importance of its legitimate applications.
CBD affects other medication.
True.
CBD can lower blood pressure. It can also help out its sedative-medical friends which target the central nervous system, like Valium, amping up the sedative’s effect. Very high doses of CBD might also increase the potency and toxic traits of other drugs by inhibiting enzymes in the liver which break them down. Always be cognizant of the medicines you’re introducing to your body and how well they pair with CBD. We recommend you have a sit-down with your healthcare provider if you’re on a prescription. If speaking to your physician about CBD is not a viable option, try out the grapefruit test. CBD and grapefruit react chemically quite similarly, to the body. In case your doctor is not well acquainted with CBD try asking him/her how your body and your prescribed medicines would react to grapefruit.
CBD has health benefits.
True!
The endocannabinoid system was elected by our body to regulate a host of processes from pain to forming memories. CBD’s association with this system naturally affects these processes. Since there is always newer research underway, there is a whole lot that we are yet to discover about cannabinoids and how they work but presently available reports suggest that CBD can relieve symptoms of anxiety and stress, pain and inflammation, improve sleep, reduce seizures and tremors and possibly much more.
CBD is addictive.
A myth.
On the contrary CBD is seen as a solution for de-addiction. Clinical trials and research shows that CBD reduces addictive potential of substances, reduces withdrawal symptoms and even cravings(for cigarettes, marijuana, heroin, alcohol etc.) . Addiction is often dictated by a craving for dopamine and depends on not just your genetics but also your environment and life experiences which translates to every individual having a different susceptibility to addiction. Though THC can be addictive since it directly affects dopamine release, CBD has a very different mechanism of action. CBD does not mess around directly with CB1 receptors, instead its interaction with D2, dopamine receptor, reflects how CBD could in fact, reduce reward seeking behaviour. To know more about CBD Oil in India: Qurist
