Unemployment wasn't glamorous by any means, but it provided a certain amount of flexibility for Quin to chase down her whims. Last week, that had been comparing every salsa at the Farmer's Market. This week? She was on to bigger and better things. Quintana pushed past the library doors, sauntered up to the librarian-on-duty counter (or whatever it was called), and plopped her bag down. Tapping her fingers, Quintana looked at the librarian with a gleam in her eye. "Say, you can look up everything in stock on the computer there?" she asked, leaning over the counter to peer at their screen. Okay, sure, so she hadn't been to too many libraries in her day. What do they say? Readers are leaders? Well, Quin never really wanted to lead anybody anywhere, after all. "You wanna look somethin' up for me, dollface?" she grinned. "See if you got, uh... any books about animal skeletons," Quin nodded like she was onto something. "Yeah, like... you know, which ones are lucky."

she put so many people on a pedestal and didn't care about anyone except pink, lapis, and nearing the end, steven.

she never questioned them, she very clearly has black and white thinking, and she relied on how they'd think of her just for anything. one bad thing happened to pink and she held a grudge against everyone. lapis hurt her and she wanted to go back to that just to have lapis. steven shattered her after they got close and she wanted to do nothing but serve him.

clearly she has issues and shes pretty decent rep for bpd folk who dont have a healthy mindset and are stuck in their ways.

and so you sit shotgun with a shotgun next to your traumatized bi brother in the car your homophobic transphobic father had. driving the country. meeting demons who remind you a lot of yourself and angels you begin to hate more than worship. and you wonder again if a higher being is sending you messages.

and then the visions start back up again, the visions you so carefully forgot about, bundled up and shoved deep in the caverns of your mind. visions…prophecy. have you been right this whole time?

surely there is not a god, a god who so loves the world would not run a world like this, right? if jesus loves me this i know, why do his followers want my guts on their dining table and my body crucified upside down?

all while facing the horrors. i am too soft around the edges to pass as male and too sharp around the corners to pass as female. i can alter my body however i please but i will never be man enough for you (dad). i will never be the son you so wanted me to be. i will be the son that i am which is never enough.

and when lucifer takes my vessel it all feels right, like everything is finally in place, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be. the damned brother. of course i would say yes. lucifer is the closest thing i had to a father figure anyways.
