LONER, A 3! (Shunsuke Takeuchi) It's an uplifting song actually, but the fact that it's sung my none other than Gonta's JP VA, and represents an attitude that's his opposite yet plausibly achievable, had he have a chance to heal and reflect on his ways... Well, that makes it sad for me to listen to, in a "what could've been" kinda way.

Secret Betrayal (Yuka Kitamura, Dark Souls III OST) So there's this quest in DS3 that enables specific ending. You enter an optional area that looks like an alternative version of the place you know from your "normal" world. In this little dimensional pocket you find a pair of eyes. You go to Firekeeper, give her these eyes, and make her experience a vision of the end of the current world. Heartbroken yet allured by this, she asks "Is that what you wish for?". You may say "Yes". She agrees to form a secret pact with you, help you bring the end of the Age of Fire (a cycle the game indirectly implies is pointless to continue), betraying everyone's hopes and pretty much ending them all... But should you change your mind - "Kill me." - she says - "I shall return as I once was" (she sort of "resets", by ressurecting and losing her memory of the deal and of the world-ending vision she saw). If you go through this storyline, you can even betray her by the very end, leading to another variant of that ending. This music is what the default Firelink theme changes to once this storyline is active.

Mourning (NieR:Automata OST) So there's this sidequest in Automata. An android asks you to investigate her friend's murder. Turns out it was she herself who's killed said friend. She was an executioner following orders, who deleted her memories, because she couldn't bear living with the knowledge she took her friend's life. "Sometimes it's better to not know the truth" is being said, but it's not actually about that android's actions... more of a justification why executioners like her exist in secret, and why they eliminate those who might know or seek too many painful secrets. The song plays as the quest gets completed. It's written in fictional language, but there are fan interpretations out there: link

Warning(s): Jealousy, Cha Hae-In is a bit rude in this one-shot (I absolutely adore Cha Hae-In but please bare with me as she acts totally out of character), Jin Woo is worried for his girlfriend, Reader being sent with the Jeju Island raid team and getting extremely injured, mentions of the fight between Jin Woo and Beru, the reader is in Cha Hae-In’s place when Beru attacks, if you haven’t read the Manhwa, there are spoilers pertaining to the last episode of season 2

Summary: You and Jin Woo have been dating since he had miraculously survived the double dungeon incident and when he started his second awakening journey. However, the stronger he got, the more distant he started to become. He would always leave you a little note every morning before he left, but your bed felt empty when he wasn’t there for you to wake up too. Now, your heart begins to break when the world starts to put him and Cha Hae-In together. Calling them the perfect couple. You knew Jin Woo was loyal to a fault, but you couldn’t help the doubts that started to crawl into your mind. So, when you are asked to join the raid team for Jeju Island, you jump on the chance but face a dire consequence when the ant king nearly sends you to the afterlife.

Morning rays of light beamed through your slightly open curtains. Opening your eyes, you were once again met with an empty bed. Jin Woo’s side neatly made and little note laying on the comforter. You reached over and gently plucked the paper from the bed. Your eyes skimmed over the words and a sigh left your lips. Slipping out of the bed, you slowly changed out of your pajamas and into a simple white T-shirt, and black combat pants. You walked to the bathroom, splashed water in your face and patted your face dry before moving to make-up. Heading downstairs to get something to eat was a chore for you now. When Jin Woo had been staying with you, he would always walk up after you. Every morning you would wake up bright and early to make you both breakfast, something you had enjoyed. 

As you pulled a bowl from your cupboard, you decided you wanted to watch a little bit of tv before heading to your guild. You were a part of the White Tiger guild and was one of the only S-ranks other than Baek-Yoonho there. As you flipped through the channels, the news popped up. Growing curious, you let it stay there as they began talking about a new possible raid on Jeju island. Your heart sank. You remember the last raid you went on there and it was a nightmare. You lost so many friends to that raid. As you listened, you almost dropped the knife you were using to put up an apple and such when you heard your boyfriend's name and Cha Hae-In’s name in the same sentence.

“I know Jim, but don’t you think that Hunter Sung and Hunter Cha made a wonderful couple?” 

“Hunter Sung has a girlfriend, Lindy. I don’t think it's wise to say such things but I will agree with you. I feel those two would make a wonderful couple.”

“Come to think of it, Hunter Sung and Hunter Cha have amazing chemistry when they fight together. Wouldn’t you say?” 

You stood in your kitchen, heart nearly pounding out of your chest as you listened to the news anchors talking about your boyfriend and another female being a good match for each other. Tears glistened in your eyes but you refused to let them fall, but it hurt. Hurt that people had overlooked you as his girlfriend and denied that they even thought you and Jin Woo looked good together. You placed the knife down on the table and walked to the quest room. Sitting on the bed, your mind began to wander. ‘Is Jin Woo tired of me?’ ‘Am I not good enough for him?’ You tried shaking your head to rid the thoughts but nothing would work.  The thoughts boiled in your mind, your heart nearly pounding out of your chest. 

As your mind wandered further and further, tears gradually spinned down your face. Your chest heaving as you tried to calm yourself down. Jin Woo was loyal. He wouldn’t do what people were saying. He wouldn’t cheat on you. Furiously wiping at the tears, you heard your phone ringing from where you had left it in the kitchen. Taking a deep, controlled breath, you rushed to answer the phone. Hearing the words from the person's voice on the other end made your blood run cold. “Of course President Go, I would be delighted to join the final raid.” You said, your heart clenching. 

Ending the call, you took a deep breath. Grabbing your things, you tossed the now spoiled food in the trash, turned the tv off and went over to Jin Woo’s apartment. Jin Woo wasn’t there but you didn’t really care at the moment. You told Jinah and their mother that you had been asked to join the final raid squad and that she would do her best to make it back alive. Both Jinah and Jinah’s mother looked at each other before looking at you. They immediately pulled you into a hug and begged you to make it back safely. You closed your eyes as you tightened the hug before pulling back. You simply nodded before leaving. You passed by Jin Woo not even stopping to say hello or even talk to him which unnerved him a little. Entering his house, he saw his mother and sister crying. 

You entered the massive building that the S-Ranks were given in order to train. You walked over to where the other S-Ranks had placed their things and immediately threw yourself into training with the Japanese S-Rank hunters. Breathing heavily as you and the other S-Rank took a break to catch your breaths and take a sip of water, you noticed Hunter Cha smiling a bit smug like towards you. Ignoring her looks, you and the other S-Rank continue your brawl before it ends in their defeat. You grab a towel Baek handed to you and pat the sweat from your body. It isn’t long before you and the rest of the raid squads are flown to Jeju Island. You took a deep breath as the island came into view. Choi noticed the fear in your body language. He held his hand out to you, a small smile of understanding on his face. 

You were grateful to him. Taking his hand seemed to calm the raging nerves that spiraled away in your heart. After a few minutes, Choi slipped his hand from yours and held them in front of him, his fire raging from his palms killing the flying ants that rushed towards the helicopter. Much like Baek’s ability, you could change into a magic beast. Your beast was a black wolf, one creature that happened to be your favorite. You were also a tank, making it easier for you to plow right through the hordes of ants, tearing them apart. You pushed through as the rest of your team followed behind. Entering the Queens chambers, Hunter Cha points out an egg that looks rather large compared to the others. Narrowing your eyes, you advise the others to be careful. A low rumble could be heard just as the Queen appeared, her roar filling the cave. 

Everything was going well, Cha and the others had weakened the Queen just enough for you to take the last swing and kill her off. People who had been watching, including your boyfriend and his family watched in amazement as the queen ant dropped to the ground. Jin Woo, however, felt something was off. He had felt unnerved when the shadow he had placed in Goto’s shadow returned to his army, a look of fear in its eyes. His heart sank when that very ant appeared behind you, after eating a bit of the queen to gain its memories. You were not even in your beast transformation when the ant’s arm slammed into your body, breaking your ribs and arm and sending you flying into a pillar. Jin Woo’s heart sank when the feed was cut. 

Cha Hae-In, although injured and bleeding profusely, stood by you. Protecting you from the ants that swarmed and rushed towards your downed body. She could see the damage that the ant king had done to you and it made her sick to think that you could possibly die here. She didn’t really like you that much, but you were a strong fighter and the fact the ant king took you out first meant death for the others. Byung Gyu did his best to try and get to you to heal you but the ant king was hell bent on keeping him away from you. Cha watched in disbelief as everyone fell to the ant king. Byung Gyu is killed in an instant, and the ant king bites his head off to gain the ability to speak and heal himself. Baek rushes forward as anger swirls around him, but the black ant just grabs him by the throat and askes; demands, where the King of the humans is before rushing out of the chamber. Hunter Ma carefully picked you up as they tried making their way out of the chambers. 

Everything felt hopeless as the ants rushed towards them, even with Choi burning them to bits. As they all feared they would end up dead, the shadows that hid within their shadows emerged, blocking the ants from advancing. Confused, the hunters tried to figure out what was going on. Before their eyes, Jin Woo appeared, his eyes narrowed into a glare as he unleashed his shadow army to fight. Tusk grew massive and created a shield that blocked the flying ants, along with electrocuting them.

Hunter Ma gently placed you on the ground as Jin Woo rushed over to them as his shadow fought. He took one look at you and felt his heart nearly stop right then and there. He knew he shouldn’t have spent time with Hunter Cha but she just wouldn’t leave him alone. Speaking of her, Cha Hae-In moved closer to his side. “She’s pretty much dead, you should leave her.” She said, hoping only Jin Woo would hear her but the rest of the group heard and stared her down, anger in their eyes. “What the hell Hunter Cha! How could you say that?!” Choi hissed, his eyes burning with anger. Jin Woo simply glared at her, causing her to back away from him. “You seemed like a nice person Miss Cha. But now I see that you are nothing but a two faced bitch.” Jin Woo snarled as he began healing the hunters around him. He moved to you and slipped his arms under your head causing you to wince and cry out. 

His heart clenched as he pulled you against his body, pouring the healing potion into your mouth. His heart sank when the notice popped up, saying your health was too low. Jin Woo was desperate now. Gently laying you down, he stood up and turned to the rest of the hunters. “I’m going to get a bit more aggressive at clearing a path.” Jin Woo said as he motioned to his shadows to move a bit faster. Igris looked behind Jin Woo to see you laying on the ground, near death. He let out a scream as he charged the horde of ants. Jin Woo was stunned but he knew how close Igris and you had gotten, as Igris took a liking to you as he considered you the queen.

Things turned for the worst when the black ant appeared in the chambers again. Jin Woo, not hesitating, walked towards the creature. Everything was still before the fight broke out. First, it was just them testing each other out before the real battle began. Baek Yoonho was struggling even with his beast eyes to keep up with the fight. What felt like hours to him, Jin Woo was finally standing before the ant, his eyes burning with anger as the ant turned and scuttled away, fear evident in its fleeing. Jin Woo made quick work as he mutilated the ant. As the battle ended, the system notified him of the two levels he had claimed from ending the life of the ant king. His thoughts were interrupted when Hunter Ma’s worried call of his name rang out. 

You were lying on a white cloth that someone had brought, your face growing paler as the minutes ticked by. Your breathing becomes shallower, and your lips turning purple. Jin Woo frantically took the Elixir of Life from his inventory and tried giving it to you. When that failed, his heart was screaming. His mind burns through thoughts of what he could do to save your life. His head suddenly snapped up and he turned towards the shadows that stood behind him. “Find a healer's body now!” He ordered, watching as the shadows rushed around. Before long, an orc returns with Min Byung Gyu’s body cradled in its arms. Laying the body on the ground, Jin Woo holds his hand over the headless body. “Arise.” He said. Everyone watched in both shock and horror as the shadow version of Min Byung Gyu appeared before them. 

Baek gripped Jin Woo’s shoulder but watched as Jin Woo didn’t even command the shadow. Byung Gyu walked towards your slowly dying body before opening the book in his hand and holding his head out towards you. Green light surrounded your body as the wounds that the black ant had inflicted on you began to mend and disappear from your body. Your scrunched up face began to relax and the color returned to your face. Byung Gyu lowered his hand and walked back towards Jin Woo, ready to bow to him but Jin Woo placed a hand on his shoulder, muttering, “Release.” Baek was stunned when Byung Gyu’s shadow turned to him and smiled softly before disappearing. 

Hunter Ma was given the task to carry you out of the chambers as you would be weak for the time being as you had been near death. Nodding his head, the giant carefully picks you up, your still weak body leaning against him. Jin Woo watches before Baek Yoonho turns to him after they exited the chambers. “Are you coming with us?” He asked. Jin Woo shook his head, even though he desperately wanted to make sure you would be ok. “I have some unfinished business here.” He said, calling for Kaisel. The massive wyvern appeared before Baek and the others, making them gasp as Jin Woo launched into the air, taking care of the few ants that surrounded the escape route of the helicopter. When everyone was out of sight, Jin Woo left Kaisel to continue to fight while he returned to the carcass of the black ant. Lifting his hand, he stared down at the ant. “Arise.” He said. Everything went black before disappearing. The ant he had killed stood before him as a shadow. Giving the ant the name Beru, Jin Woo asked him to finish up the last of the ants left.

Opening your eyes, you groaned when the blinding light of the hospital blinded you. Chuckling, the doctor turned to you, a smile on her face. “I’m glad to see you finally awake Hunter l/n. You were really lucky to have a healer find you just in time to heal those wounds you had received on that island.” The doctor said, writing a few things down before bowing and leaving you alone for a moment. A knock was heard and Jin Woo stepped in. You watched as he grabbed a chair and sat by your bed, his eyes trying to meet yours but your stare was harsh. “Jin Woo?” You asked, watching as he finally looked at you. He nodded his head and opened his mouth to say something but choked on his tears that just suddenly began to fall down his face. You moved to gently wipe the tears from his eyes. 

Jin Woo leaned into your hand before placing his hand over yours and pressing closer. Not knowing what came over you, you look Jin Woo directly in the eyes. “Do you like Hunter Cha?” You asked, watching and searching Jin Woo’s eyes but you saw nothing. Leaning forward, Jin Woo gently pressed his lips against yours. A fire bloomed into your chest as he kissed you gently before taking his free hand and tangling it in your hair. You hummed into the kiss before he pulled away and pressed his forehead against yours. His gray eyes staring you down before kissing his lips to your nose, smiling when you giggled. Gently grabbing his wrist, you pull him til he has one knee on the hospital bed. 

“Lay with me for a moment?” You whispered, watching as he immediately melted and laid by your side. His arm drifted over your waist, gently pulling your body against his. Your hands landed on his chest before they moved up and cupped his face. His eyes looked down at you with so much love that your previous thoughts disappeared as fast as they had formed. Your thumb brushes over his cheekbone, a content sigh leaving his lips as he leans forward, his forehead gently pressing against yours. “Promise me you will never go on a raid like that again?” He whispered, waiting for your answer. You could hear the fear in his voice when he spoke and it broke your heart. You snuggled into his chest, your eyes closed and your ear pressed against his heart. “I promise.” You whispered, smiling when Jin Woo’s hold on you tightened ever so slightly. “Promise me you won’t leave me?” You whispered, your body slowly growing tired. Jin Woo, at that moment, knew you had seen the rumors of him and Hunter Cha. A soft ‘tch’ spilled from his mouth and he vowed to go and talk with those stupid damn reporters.

Pulling you even closer to his chest without hurting you, his hand reached towards your face, gently brushing hair out of your face. “I will never leave you. Not now, not ever.” He whispered, watching as your lips gently filled out a bright smile before sleep took hold. Your gentle breathing made Jin Woo’s heart race before he too fell asleep, you tucked in his arms, his safe haven, and the love of his life. The women he planned on marrying when the time was right, and no gates or dungeons could destroy his already growing peaceful life. ‘One day.’ He thought, ‘One day everything will be perfect.’

When the Phone Rings: What a fun insane show! It was bonkers from beginning to end. The acting was great, the OST was awesome, the story was insane. Everything you want in a makjang drama.

Alchemy of Souls: Visually beautiful, wonderful soundtrack, casting is amazing, story is very well thought-out, world-building is on point, loved all of it.

Trope subversions, Love Maps, Plot driven by fear

Moon in the Day: The most angsty enemies to lovers you will ever find in your life. It's completely enthralling. The past scenes with Do-ha are amazing. There are some plot holes and the secondary characters aren't very well developed, but I don't care. It was so good!

Doom at Your Service: The world-building is really well done, as is the symbolism. Doom is so weirdly lovable. Also has a great soundtrack.

Extraordinary You: the story gets a little drawn out in the middle episodes, but the concept is so gripping that I forgive it. The main character is really spunky and fun and the villain is probably the most interesting character in the show.

Lovely Runner: This is one of the cutest dramas I've seen in a while. Top tier cuteness. The story was really fun and I laughed a lot.

W: Two Worlds: So good! So unpredictable! So Male Lead who was smart and actually acted smart! This is the dark companion of Extraordinary You and I loved every minute.

Happiness: the whole point of zombie horror is that the humans are the real monsters and Happiness delivered on that 100000%. Turns out Park Hyung-sik can also be serious and very good at punching people! Han Hyo-joo was also amazing. The slow burn romance was so cute. Loved it so much. Also, more of a murder mystery than a zombie show.

Zombieland Rules, Webtoon vs. Drama

Sh**ting Stars: the voluntarism in an unnamed African country wasn't great, but the rest of the show was so heartwarming and cute! There were lots of lovable characters, mature relationships, very cute friendships, and hilarious antics.

The Forbidden Marriage: The plot had lots of fun twists and the resolution was satisfying. I wish we got more So Rang hijinks in the later episodes, the hunting episode was my favourite with her running around everywhere like a maniac.

It's Okay to Not be Okay: My only critique is I wish they did more of the animations for fairy tales, but it's so good. The female lead had the most amazing outfits. The story is so good and the way they portrayed the brother's autism.

Revenant: I'm not usually into horror, but this wasn't too scary. It was very well written, the threads in the mystery all came together well. The characters were interesting and the supernatural stuff was cool. Really great acting.

Flower of Evil: Everyone was right again, it was really good. So many twists and turns, such good romance, so many good reveals. Loved it. Loved it enough to forgive the amnesia part.

Kdramas I have liked:

Vincenzo - technically I'm at 19/20 but I don't want to watch the Himbo die so I might just stay here? Overall it was an enjoyable watch but the genre (Revenge comedy) didn't really click with me. There were often no consequences to anything anyone did and eventually it got a bit silly. The end of 19 was kind of a character assassination of Vincenzo.

Light Shop - it was pretty and creepy and well-acted, but I was left wanting more depth.

Family by Choice - this drama always felt so calm and happy, even when something terrible was happening, because Noodle Dad was always there to make everyone feel better. A great comfort watch.

The Judge from Hell - very interesting premise and solid execution, Justitia was believable as a demon and I like that she an Da-on met in the middle. The ending kind of dragged and it had some unexplained plot points (like the defeat of Satan)

Penthouse War in Life (S1 - 3): This is an over-the-top rich people problems revenge drama and it delivers. The writing was surprisingly good, the acting was great, and the costumes were very fun. Seasons 1 & 2 were very cohesive, S3 jumped the shark right away and everything that followed was nonsense, especially the ending. But hey, what a ride!

Twinkling Watermelon: It's good, it just wasn't for me. I enjoyed the female characters more than the main male characters (especially young Yi-chan, he really annoyed me). Eun-gyeol was too unrealistically perfect at everything. But it had nice character development and I shipped all the couples.

Kingdom: Loved it! But I refuse to put it in my top kdramas since S2 ends on a huge cliff hanger and apparently they aren't making any more. Boo to Netflix. This was more gory than Happiness, but I loved having zombies in a historical setting. (This one doesn't go in my terrible ending category because it's just the last ten minutes that suck, not the last one or two episodes)

Ending fix, why the ending sucks

A Shop for Killers: an interesting action drama. I was surprised by one or two of the reveals but they were well written, I liked the non-linear storytelling and Jian as a character. The backstory about Bale got a bit too dark/gory for me but I should have expected that with this genre.

Haechi: Really strong beginning, lots of action, I enjoyed the court drama and the action bits. The only problem was that once the main character stopped being a scrappy underdog, it was just a lot of him winning which got slightly boring. The ending was very pro-monarchy, but from everything I've been able to read in English, this guy was a good king so good for him I guess? Also, the female lead went from interesting to doing nothing with heart eyes.

The Atypical Family: A very interesting superhero/time travel story with a fun ensemble cast. I didn't love any particular character (except I-Na), but the story was really fascinating and I was never bored.

Doctor Slump: Very cute and relaxing watch. The FL's family was really cute, especially her mom! The focus on mental health was nice, though there was a bit too much of an idea that a relationship can fix your depression/PTSD. But still good!

Daily Dose of Sunshine: this made me cry multiple times. The visuals for how different disorders feel was fascinating. Good resolutions for the characters. I loved it all despite the unrealistic endings.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo: I'm blown away by their portrayal of autism. They don't shy away from making her ticks and mannerisms off-putting, awkward, and even somewhat annoying, but Young-woo has joy, she has imagination, she loves life. It's so much better than anything with an autistic character that I've seen in Western media. Not 10/10 because I did get a bit uninterested in the later cases when I wanted to know where the love story was going.

Choi Su-yeon

Oh My Ghost: I loved this one! Park Bo-young did an amazing job playing an oppressed shaman and possessed-by-a-ghost. It was very well written: there weren't any ridiculous sideplots and I was never bored. I did think the ending dragged a little bit, but overall I loved it.

The King's Affection: I think it probably could have been cut down to 16 episodes instead of 20, but very good. The female crown price is so scared all the time and I want to hug her, but also badass! It's a very hard line to walk but they do it well. Also, the bodyguard who is also an assassin is so hot and the costumes are great.

My Lovely Liar: very cute and occasionally very scary. Probably one of the most normal relationships I've seen in a Kdrama, no destiny or fate just two people who like each other. The murder mystery was well done, though I'm not sure how I feel about the final reveal.

Hospital Playlist: The epitome of slice of life. I enjoyed all the characters, especially Lee Ik-jun, The Ghost, and Long Winter (Jang Gyeo-ul) and the cute kid! I love the mom and the hospital director hanging out together. The band! I cannot stop listening to their songs!

What's Wrong with Secretary Kim: I liked that for once the big trauma didn't come from the parents, what a twist! I actually loved how ridiculously narcissistic the ML was and I loved the competent and mature FL. They didn't have any ridiculous misunderstandings and they never broke up. And the ML's friend was very funny.

King the Land: The show got better as it went on. The female lead was so competent and sure of herself. The parts about the friends' struggles was heartbreaking a lot of the time. I also loved how positive the female relationships were.

Kdramas with Great Beginnings and Terrible Endings (I don't mean sad, I mean they squandered their potential):

No Gain No Love: this drama barrelled through every sexually conservative expectation for Kdramas. They really defeated a bad guy with glow-in-the-dark dildos. Who would have ever imagined? I loved the leads, but the ending was lacking in that Hae-yeong never achieved her career ambitions. The love story was great though.

Because This is My First Life: The ending was terrible and gross, but the female characters were so well written and fleshed out that I can almost forgive it. I related so much to all of them. Also, the best explanation ever for why a woman would choose a marriage without love.

Queen of Tears: I loved the set-up but for me it lost it's way at the end. Too many dramatic moments and the Magic Cancer surgery and Magic Amnesia Month were just too much of a strain on my ability to suspend my disbelief. But the performances were very good, from the leads and the secondary characters, and the premise was good. I enjoyed like 80% of the show.

Captivating the King: I'm struggling to rate this one. The ML was amazing, but the FL seemed to just always be wide-eyed scared/worried. The writing was great for the first half, but the ending was ambiguous in a way I didn't enjoy. The intimate scene in Ep 8/9 was awesome, but then we didn't really get more. I wish they had stuck the landing. Smart character became dumb.

Marry My Husband: very fun drama, I especially enjoyed Su-min and Min-hwan, who were some of the most deep villains I've seen portrayed. However, I hated the Yu-ra storyline and I felt like the ML kept the secret of his death for way too long. Also, no happy ending for the secondary couples! I wanted more screen time with them.

The Story of Park's Marriage Contract: It was fluffy and fun, I loved Sa-wol the maid, we should have had more of her! I hated the ending though, so much. Just so bad.

Kdramas that are So Bad They Are Somehow Good:

Perfect Marriage Revenge - This show did exactly what it set out to do, be completely over-the-top dramatic. The male lead looks like a Ken doll dressed by an eight year old, the mothers have the most over the top outfits and hairstyles ever, someone eats DNA test results, it's a delight to watch.

Hwarang: really great acting despite a mediocre script, but man so many plot holes and unresolved plots. I never totally decided if the Queen Dowager was actually trying to help her son or just holding on to power and I feel like they should have made that clearer. Also, what was that love triangle??? But I did enjoy myself the whole time.

Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale: the acting was good enough that except for the first episode, I enjoyed myself the whole time. Also so many good kissing scenes! Fun subversion of the Cinderella trope.

Other Kdramas I've watched:

Hyper Knife - what did I just watch? It made so little sense. They made blood very pretty though, somehow, and Park Eun-bin did a great job... at whatever it was she did

Cinderella at 2am: It was cute, but I ended up liking the second couple more and I wish they'd had more screen time. I don't think the male lead is a very good actor either.

Perfect Family: the story was engaging enough but it had such a weird ending. Like not dissatisfying, but just strange? Also, my favourite actor was dead basically the whole time, which I knew going in but it still made me sad.

The Red Sleeve: full review here and also here, but basically, I loved the Crown Prince's story, but the female lead fell flat. They never sufficiently explained the FL's emotional journey and they also kept ruining female characters. Justice for the Queen Dowager!

Soundtrack #1: I hate endless, hopeless pining and that's all this was. It had it's cute moments, but I always felt like the male lead was in pain and I didn't enjoy that.

Hospital Playlist 2: Somehow it wasn't as good as the first season, I found myself actually getting bored. But it was nice to see all the couples get together.

Goblin/Guardian the Great and Lonely God: The roommate stuff is hilarious! It did move slowly at times, I wanted the Grim Reaper/Sunny stuff to move faster. I got really annoyed at Kim Shin for not being honest with Eun-tak. Sometimes the product placement annoyed me. But it's very beautiful and I was very invested in everyone. Problem is, I don't think I ever want to watch it again.

Tale of the Nine Tailed + 1938 - It's fun, but the lore/world-building don't make a whole lot of sense. The Serpent is pretty over powered in S1 and really ought to have won. 1938 was better but the female mountain goddess made zero sense as a character. Lee Rang is probably the best part of the whole series, and his little murder fox girl in S1 or mermaid girl in S2.

Castaway Diva: I love the songs and the found family parts, but the story was lacking. Especially the older singer's story made very little sense and didn't come to a satisfying conclusion. And why not show us a little of the main couple being together?

Hotel del Luna - I enjoyed the ghost parts but the dynamic between the main couple was a mess. He is so unconditionally nice and she is such a jerk to him!

Strong Girl Bong-Soon - I loved all the parts with Bong-Soon and Min-hyuk, like he was the cutest, sweetest boy ever, but everything else was kind of annoying. And the kidnapper parts were really creepy! I just wanted Bong-Soon to smash more things. I also hated Guk-doo and I wanted all the women to dump his ass.

Business Proposal - It was cute, but it bothered me that Ha-ri wouldn't just talk to Tae-moo about her concerns about dating him. Ha-ri may be the only female lead ever with a healthy family dynamic, yay for her! The secondary couple was fun.

Death's Game - I enjoyed the genre and actor switches at first, but then it seemed to veer into being about the serial killer CEO and then back to being about suicide and the resolution left me unsatisfied.

Webtoon vs. Drama

My Demon - It was fun, but the world-building wasn't great and the ending was fine. I felt like it tried to be Doom at Your Service but failed (there were many, many references/thefts).

Destined with You - I really liked some parts of it, especially the leads and I actually liked the office romance with Hong-jo's boss (until the last episode), but they left so many things unanswered that I wish were revealed! It's like the writers forgot it was a fantasy drama halfway through and just went in a totally different direction. It makes me angry.

The Uncanny Counter - The concept was good, the actors were good, the chemistry between the actors was amazing, but the story went way off the rails. So Mun just became way too over-powered and the plot needed more balance. I wanted more demon catching and less mayor stuff. I did like the bully being saved and reformed.

100 Days My Prince - I hated the main couple, he was just too distant and she should have figured out who he was like 10 minutes in. It felt like they only got together because he was obsessed with her, I would have preferred the nice face-blind guy. I ended up liking the peasant friend couple and the murderous princess and her assassin boyfriend better.

Started but not finished:

Hometown Cha Cha Cha - I hated it. Dropped at 9/16. Review. Frustration. Moving - I started it, it seems really slow. I think I'm four or five episodes in. The Crowned Clown - First episode was way too dark! Live Up To Your Name - Acupuncture is magic? Moonlight Drawn by Clouds - the first episode seemed bonkers Strong Girl Nam-Soon - could not even force myself to watch it. Total mess The Impossible Heir - Even Lee Jae-wook couldn't save this messy plot. My Sweet Mobster - stopped watching at Ep 10, I couldn't handle the jealousy and I found the FL really boring. River Where the Moon Rises - the pacing is bad (always seems like they are running around) and for some reason I cannot with the ML's super white teeth in the year 500 A.D. Ep 11/20 Our Blooming Youth - it has it's moments, but it started out creepy and most of the time is just silly. I do want to know how the mystery unravels but not enough to care right now 12/20 Fated to Love You (You are My Destiny) - I really liked the first episodes but after the miscarriage, it just seems like unnecessary delay of getting them back together. 14/20

but at what cost?

now, you were standing in front of him while he was locked away in the cell provided by s.h.i.e.l.d. and he glared at you coldly, just like how he looked at you the first time. but right now, loki’s mind couldn’t unwrap around the fact that you had turned him in… or at least, that’s what he thought happened since he’s known betrayal far worse than everyone else, not even thor.

“loki.” you placed your palm against the glass as he looked away, a frown plastered over his face as a scowl escaped his lips. he really thought you were set apart from all the humans who were terrified of him, the humans who had surrounded him, and the humans who fired weapons stronger than bullets at him.

but in the end, you were still human… and he hated it badly. “you betrayed me,” loki spoke out, “... you don’t know the extent of your power, do you?”

and those first three words he uttered broke you. how could he think you betrayed him? for god’s sake, you’ve kissed him without thinking twice! you’ve followed his rules without complaining! you’ve eaten a midnight meal with him on the top of a mountain and talked to him about the little girl you failed to save… your little sister.

why on earth would he think that you, out of all people, have turned into a traitor?

“loki,” you said his name once more but in a softer manner, “look, you’re not seeing this right. i would never turn you in–”

“i am seeing it clearly.” he grunted, still not looking at you. he couldn’t dare to look at you after that godforsaken kiss; so heavenly to feel but so hellish to remember. “y/n, i–,” he had to cut himself off, knowing that he’s just called you by your name. the name that every friend would address you by. the name that would remind him that there was this closeness between both of you at one point.

for a short amount of time, he’d want to spend more with you but the universe had told him it was too big of a risk. “... i shouldn’t have set you free… i never expected you to be in front of me right now,” he solemnly whispered, now knowing the consequences of falling for a human. after all, how unethical would it be for a god to fall for some earthly creature? 

he found you beautiful in so many ways that he just couldn’t let himself not feel your lips, his mind overly consumed by the imagination of just taking you, claiming his place in you, and turning you as the right hand to his throne.

having you by his side; that was his fantasy. an everlasting one. 

and this fueled his rage even more against his older brother, who could love a human while he had to be kept in this cage, desperately reaching his hands out to you while the windows shielded you from him as if he was some beast; only allowed to watch but never touch. “you’re mine!” he growled loudly, now staring into your eyes while his fist banged against the glass, making you flinch. “... you were supposed to be mine.” 

as selfish and ridiculous as he may have sounded, saying those words broke him. it shattered him. the truth will always shatter the wall of lies he’s made for himself.

when you thought this situation couldn’t get any worse, you heard thundering footsteps from behind, almost as if it was approaching you. on the other side of the glass, loki’s eyes darkened, a familiar smirk creeping up his face like he’s worn a mask. “... so, you’ve taken l/n away from me as well? how generous.” the god of mischief’s voice was mixed with bitterness and disguised wrath as you turned around and saw the storm’s mighty warrior. 

“listen, brother,” thor called his name with a hint of hope, “that doctor did not turn you in, they just wanted to pay you a visit.”

of course loki didn’t believe him. in fact, loki couldn't; the god of mischief had been lied to many times before he turned his back against those same liars. “if they hadn’t turn me in, then why am i here? why are they not with me? why are they standing next to you outside of this room!?” jealousy seeped into the cracks of his mask, the reality of his emotions destroying himself.

he couldn’t bear seeing his brother standing next to you. “because you’re a criminal,” you spoke up, breaking the silence after loki just shouted at thor’s face. taking another step closer to the glass, you stated, “loki, you’ve taken me hostage and you kissed me–”

“no, you kissed me,” loki claimed.

“because you told me to!” you clarified.

“and you desired it.” he insisted.

while both of you fought, thor stood right beside you with a rather awkward stance, forced to listen to his younger, fucked in the head brother express how much he wanted you to be his. needless to say, it was an unpleasant discussion to witness all in real-time. “enough!” roared the mighty god of thunder, catching both of your attention at the speed of lightning.

but the argument didn’t stop there. “you tell me that i left an effect on you but you’re so full of yourself that you wouldn’t let this go.” and anger found you at that moment, showing loki all the consequences of his actions; what world domination led him to. 

“... my god, loki,” you uttered hopelessly, “you know you don’t have to do this. it never had to be like this.”

in those hours you’ve been around him, you knew that you weren’t the only one controlled by such power. his every move had to be right – had to make the plan progress or else, all things fail and by now, you’ve already noticed that loki so despised it.

loki so desperately didn’t want to bring the whole order down.

“please, your brother is willing to give us a chance–”

“if this is an attempt to persuade me to stop, you’re not doing so well at all.”

of course loki wasn’t quite fond on hearing about what his brother thought about the two of you. he couldn’t care less about him anymore; whether he truly wanted it or not, the plan will push through. 

this world will be molded in his hands and his horns will be everyone’s crucifix. 

so, you tried one more time. “... you already have power over me,” you admitted, your voice trembling in shame and pride. thor, who now stood behind you, couldn’t bear listening to this but he couldn’t help but think that his brother was turning you down over his ruling despite needing clarity that all he needed was love. “is that not enough?”

and there was coldness after the fire, filling in the entire room as you waited. there wasn’t enough patience for loki anymore but you kept on holding on because you had to. if this was the only way you could persuade him to stop all of this, then you had to do it.

if you couldn’t save her before, maybe you could save the people she’s left behind.

but there was no response as the alarms had gone off. agents from around the area had already told the rest of the avengers that dr. banner had turned into the emerald beast and you just had to be kept away from loki’s cell to prevent further damage yet what they didn’t know was that loki had given you a promise: that not even a finger from him would leave a bruise on your skin.

a promise that he continued to stand by even if it’s too late.

“forgive me, doctor.” he closed his eyes for a moment, letting his sorrow sink deeper into his hardened heart. soon, his irises stared into his open palm, determination floating above his guilt. 

“but this can’t be stopped.”

not even an hour later, his cell opened and chaos ensued in the rest of manhattan. creatures from other worlds led, buildings – new and old – fell, and the six were united and formed to defend the planet while the people genuinely thought that the end of the world had come for them; all because of the god with that damn scepter.

unfortunately, he ended up receiving a sentence from his father.

“you have a visitor.” the gentle voice of the woman who stood next to you called onto him. the god was facing away from the window, which exposed him to the other prisoners. those who have been imprisoned just like him no longer treated him with respect; after all, how could the son of odin do such a thing?

yet that was the entire problem: he was not odin’s son. not anymore. “a visitor?” he laughed at the idea of it, believing that no one would dare to visit him at this point. even for him, it was a surprise that his mother was doing that exact thing now after everything that happened.

he never meant to make it this far.

all he wanted was to end his pain but in return, he brought it to everyone.

“and who would that be, mother?”

“... a friend of yours. from midgard.”

the moment that damned planet was mentioned, he lifted his head from the floor, slowly turning around. his pupils dilated at the sight of you standing next to his mother as hundreds of questions broke into his mind. but one question remained unanswered: how on earth did you reach asgard?

“... you.” his gaze, voice, and demeanor softened. the idea of you visiting him in an outer space prison was weakening his cold heart on the spot. 

his mother stared at her son before shifting her gaze at you, giving you a small nod. “i’ll leave you both alone. thank you for visiting him…” she thanked you, taking the steps further away from you, the glass, and her imprisoned son after you returned her with a smile. it was the first time in months that loki had actually looked at someone with vulnerability showing in every crevice of his whole being.

carefully, you went up the short steps of the stairs in front of the glass, walking closer to him as you watched him do the same. “... your brother allowed me to pay you a visit,” you spoke, earning yet another one of those sarcastic laughs he always had. 

“oh, i don’t believe you,” he stated blatantly, “thor would never allow such a thing–”

“it was because he found me crying… about you.” you interrupted him, which silenced him right away. after his sentence had been announced around the headquarters, it felt as if a piece of your heart went missing, a void just forming right there. you never planned to visit him; what he did to manhattan was horrible, the entire world could’ve been put at stake if the black order continued.

but thor insisted after hearing you cry alone in your respective office.

“... well.” he shrugged, chuckling at the thought of it. “it’s unsurprising that he wanted you to see me like this,” he expressed as he looked at how much of a mess he was already, his palms resting against each other before placing them both behind his back. “... was it to embarrass me? in front of you?”

you shook your head and told him sternly, “no.”

he was yet taken aback once more, tilting his head to the side in confusion. he’s always believed his brother would only allow things to interact with him if it’ll shame him to the fullest. shame him for all the things he’s done. all the harm he’s caused.

“are you…” he paused, his throat drying up in anxiety. “... are you ashamed of me?”

it was rare for the god to ever ask someone that question. loki’s already made up his mind: he’s unloved, uncared for. a cunning, manipulative being who played with his subjects, leaving no room for regret in his heart.

but for the first time, he felt afraid of what you felt about him.

because all he wanted to be was to be next to you. to feel you. 

to hold the soft palms of your hands in his and never let them go ever again.

and again, you shook your head and placed your palm over the glass. “i could never be ashamed of you even if i wanted to,” you responded softly as loki’s breath hitched. “... but the things you did– they are… just… wrong...” you didn’t dare to say more as you watched how despair filled his gaze, his approaching hand further away from the glass as if he couldn’t see himself being with you. loki, in this very moment, was forced to swallow and embrace the truth – that the idea of you and him will always remain an idea because of what he did.

so, you’ve lowered your palm, too.

loki turned his back and walked away, his mind taken over by regret. if only he had met you differently, things wouldn’t have been like this. if only he hadn’t been so angry at his known family for keeping such a secret from him, you would’ve been his. if only things had been different, you could’ve been in his embrace right at this very moment.

but he knew that none of those would matter. “you should go.” the god denied himself of this privilege, which was something you didn’t want as you shook your head. you swore to never leave him; not in this state at least.

“and please,” he begged breathlessly as he kept his head down. “... live happily for me.” 

and the entire hall fell silent again. even the others seemed tense, listening to the words exchanged by both you and the god. 

“but i want to stay… i still love you.” those were the only words that could come out of your mouth at the moment, protesting hopelessly. 

“... it’s too late.” his voice trembled at the mention of it and before you could say anything back, his brother entered, catching your attention. with a single nod from him, you knew that it was best to follow the avenger instead of staying longer. after all, you were not part of their world… and neither should loki be a part of yours.

the god’s gaze lingered on you as the moment you were gone, he closed his eyes shut for a while until he realized that thor watched him. “what? are you glad that this happened? glad that i pushed them away for them to be finally free from this? for them to be happy?” loki snapped, scoffing at his brother’s observant glare. in response, thor just sighed deeply, slightly leaning against the glass.

“you do truly love them… if you want, i'll watch them for you. i’ve never expected you to love a human since you weren’t fond of the idea.” it took loki a long pause before he knew that his older brother really was willing to protect you from danger as long as he’s in prison because somehow, they both knew that he’ll escape someday. 

and for the first time, his lips curled into a tiny smile. “thank you… brother.”

Our connection {Narusasu}

[This is loosely based on, in my opinion, two of the gayest songs in Naruto ost history: 'By my side' and 'Broken youth'. ]

Also, I feel like in the history of anime, Sasuke and Naruto were the couple with most wasted potential and most love for each other. It's literally in everything canon, every episode and chapter is filled with so much love it's sometimes hard to tell this is shounen, rather than shounen ai. And that make me sad because in my head, they're both just holding up these facades in order to keep up appearances but all they want to do is cuddle and tell the world that they're in love. C'mon they both borderline, if not outright, neglect their families but never, ever each other.

Naruto and Sasuke hid behind subtle touches and declarations of brotherly love. They expertly hid their feelings behind a mask of friendship, declaring their bond to the world as nothing more than camaraderie, the connection formed from years of shared struggles.

So, why? Why did they feel the inexplicable urge to run into each other's arms when the weight of the world was simply too much to bear? Why did they still secretly hold each other's pinkies when they walked together? Why did their eyes still meet at random times? Why did they still look at each other with so many pent up emotions?

Sasuke had always wondered why? What was the reason for that inexplicable pull he felt towards the blonde?

That was Sakura's place, he married her, he formed a family with her.

Even so, he longed for Naruto's clumsy touch, and his nervous laughter, afraid of his reaction. He missed the way they would secretly cuddle when out on missions, away from the village's judgmental eye and their teammates curious gazes. Even when his mind was clouded with hatred and revenge, and the only thoughts that ran through his head were of rightful vengeance, his heart still ached at the distance he willingly put between them, and he would weep at night, yearning for his beat friend to hold him and console his anguished soul.

The Uchiha cursed himself for the steps he didn't take, for the steps he couldn't take. He cursed himself for not building up the courage to say the words, to make the move, to finally let his caged feelings free. She was safe, she was what everyone expected, she was the last resort, but at night, he couldn't look at her, because the guilt consumed him, because even after decades of pining and running after him, he still couldn't give her what she wanted, he still couldn't be the man she dreamed about. He slept beside her but his thoughts remained elsewhere. He accidentally forced Sakura into the eternal cycle of running after him, while he ran after another, but still looked back to make sure she was there.

But Naruto was Naruto, when even Sakura gave up on him, it was Naruto who ran into the darkness searching for him, he fought everyone tooth and nails just to bring him back into the village, to clean his name, to pull him back into the light. No matter how hard he tried to convince himself that this was only friendship, brotherhood, he couldn't. He knew what friendship was, this was much deeper than camaraderie, no matter how much they changed, or the years changed, their love stayed the same.

'I know your heart, and you, mine.'

Sasuke declared long ago, when his mind was clouded with hate and revenge, even in those moments his thoughts, and heart, always wandered to his blonde teammate. The man whom he loved.

Their connection remained innocent, childish; holding their pinkies, brushing their lips against each other's so lightly that it felt like a soft wind gracing their flesh, never more, never anything more. But he wanted more, he wanted to tell the world 'this is the person I love, not as a brother, not as a teammate, I love him.'

Blue eyes took in Sasuke's features, dazzled by how the moonlight made him look ethereal. His pale skin glimmered under the soft glow of the moon, and his hair, swept by the wind, looked softer than cotton, perfectly framing his sharp features. Subconsciously, his hand reached out, aiming to bury his fingers in his best friend's dark locks, but halted as a dark eye turned to him. Sasuke's frown relaxed into a soft smile as he saw Naruto's face contort into a mixture of surprise and embarrassment, so he pushed his head into the blond's outstretched hand, nuzzling into the warm flesh.

Neither spoke, surprised by their own actions and slightly scared of the other's reaction. They stared at each other for a few seconds, before Naruto's hand left Sasuke's hair, and he pushed himself off the railing to peck his friend's pale lips. He pulled away as quickly as their lips connected, both sporting wide eyes and completely red faces.

"Sasuke, I-I'm sorry... that was-"

"Idiot..."

Using his only arm, he grabbed the blonde's shirt and pulled him closer, crashing his lips into his own, they molded together and fell into an awkwardly passionate rhythm. The Uchiha's arm let go of the shirt and snaked around his neck to bury his calloused hand into his blonde tresses. Naruto, grabbed onto his hips, pulling him closer. The kiss was filled with years of unspoken feelings and hidden emotions, all let out in one singular gesture. Neither wanted to let go, finally having what they had been wanting for year, like finally reaching the promised land of their dreams. Panting, they pulled away only a few millimeter, connected by thin strip of saliva and the sentiments they held for each other.

"I need you here right by my side."

Sasuke smirked at the blonde's cheesy declaration, preparing to tease the boy, not being able to hold himself back.

"I love you, Teme."

"Took you long enough, dobe."

"What?" Naruto screeched, jumping away from the man and pointing at him, his usual hot-headed nature jumping out even in moments of romance. "You didn't say anything either!"

"Shut up and please kiss me, all night."

Their lips connected in yet another heated expression of their love, uncaring of anyone's prying eyes or who saw them. This was more important, this was the only thing in their minds at the moment, nothing else.

Just for tonight, they would love freely.

A Kinda Halfway Review of Veilguard:

It's not Origins.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, I can honestly say this game is very good. I had my (warranted) skepticism after it was in development hell forever but you can tell that the team really did work hard to create a new and enjoyable experience that still has some nods to its original source material.

That being said,

The Things I Like:

The game is extremely polished and runs amazingly, even with my last gen computer. I haven't had any glitches or bugs of any kind, which is like, amazing. Not even BG3 was bugless upon release.

On that note, the graphics are beautiful, and the kinda cartoony look everyone was turned off by actually looks decent enough when in constant motion. Even still I know the art design isn't gonna be everyone's cup of tea.

The world building is great, I'm constantly on the edge of my seat as to what I'm going to find out next and while I initially was like "spoilers w/e" now I'm like I DON'T WANT TO KNOW *ANYTHING* PREMATURELY

The gameplay is actually really fun! It took me a bit to get used to but the combat is very engaging and only having two companions at your side kinda works in this instance since you can give them commands in real time. The abilities are flashy and I like the ability tree, there's a lot of different branches to experiment with.

Alongside combat, I like that the companions are actively a part of the battle and give you pointers as to where enemies are located. It's saved my ass more than a couple times lol

The music and sound design is very satisfying. I'm not in love with the ost, I think Hans Zimmer could've gone a bit harder with the scores, but it's enjoyable enough.

Character Creation is very good, I love how my Rook turned out! (ALSO THEM HAIR PHYSICS MMMMMPH)

I only have 6/7 companions currently, but 3/7 are really interesting and have good voice acting. We'll see how I feel about them all by endgame.

I like that they shrunk down maps from Inquisition, they feel just big enough to do some poking around for hidden things but not so big that you're running through an endless desert with nothing in it (Hissing Wastes *cough*)

The Things I Don't Like:

The dialogue could be better, it does feel very exposition-y and elementary at times.

A valid complaint I've seen is that the words the dialogue tree show aren't the ones that come out of your character's mouth. And yeah, none of that stuff matches up.

The beginning parts, though I understand it was tutorial-esque, had a lot of unnecessary hand holding. Eventually I turned off hints cause like, I'm not a child I can figure out stuff after the first time doing it.

I find some of the characters very flat, and I'm not sure if this is just voice direction or what but they could be a little more enthusiastic with their acting.

I HATE that there's so much shit from the books and extra media that a lot of people (including me) don't know as we likely didn't buy that stuff and are just kinda expected to know it all going into this. Thankfully a character will say one or two sentences alluding to something that happened cause otherwise I would have no flipping clue. Like what happened to Leliana? Why is Charter Spymaster for the Inquisition now? Another reason only having three choices from the previous games kinda ruins some things.

On that note, only three choices from the previous games?? Really??

Overall, I'd give it a 7/10 as it stands. Not amazing or anything groundbreaking, but it's enjoyable enough, and personally I'm having fun with it.

And onto Rush Adventure now:

-Tbh at first i wasnt sold on the materials grinding for ships but later liked how it gives you a reason to improve your scores on the levels so you can get more. Idk i usually dont care abt scores but w the external motivation? Yea

-Same w the misions, good way to have lil extra stuff to do (that said why did they block the sound mode songs behind misions. Game pls my internet makes opening youtube an odyssey and now this too? Cruelty 😔)

-Oh and also the ship minigames! Its fun to have a map you can explore, and the races w Jhonny for the chaos emeralds are way better than the Surely Existing special levels (also srry if i got his name wrong lmao)

-Onto the soundtrack; its more broad compared to rush, and each song does matches well the enviroment. I like the tropical coastal vibes of the main town n training level, and oh man. Sky babylon and deep core my beloveds who literally got engraved in my neurons so hard i was struggling reading hours later bc the darn tunes kept playing in the background of my skull. Well scratch that all the tunes keep playing on the bg of my skull rn, what kind of eldritch curse is this). So yes good ost 👍

-Overall the aesthetic n vibes are also more broad with that tropical relax overtone, its quite nice. The difficulty is also way more forgiving (i mean i played on easy but that's the mode the game came in) and the tutorials with the controls are helpful (yes i struggled with the jump dash in the previous game how can you tell)

- The story is also more calm and silly goofy but in a good way (can def see what ppl mean by the diff eras in sonic writing there). I also liked Whisker being the main but kinda dumb villain for funnies vs the eggmans being a bigger threat)

-I liked the scene in the coral cave where Blaze appears bc my mind was half "haha i knew we were in Blaze's world, neat" and " weeee hi Blaze, game of the year :D"

-Marine was also neat, liked her silly dynamic of cheerful kid who is a bit too full of herself and is kind of a brat abt it, and how she later learns to admit her own limits :) And the koala villagers were neat too i like their designs :)

Overall thank you for letting me ramble into your ask box abt these games, its been fun :D

lmao yeah it's a nice incentive! I think the only other game that gives you a reward with higher ranks is Unwiished (another Dimps game), where the higher the rank the more medals you get.

The missions are a good way to extend the gameplay, but IIRC some of the Sol Emerald missions were brutal... I have flashes of the Blizzard Peak mission.

The waterbike was genuinely really fun and I hated that it was considered the "worst" vehicle for travel :( I don't like the submarine, let me travel the world on my tiny waterbike while the best music plays :( also yeah the Special Stages with Johnny are original! Certainly more than Half Pipe 50.0

SRA'S OST was composed by veterans Tomoya Ohtani and Mariko Nanba while trying to recreate Naganuma's style. Definitely unique and underrated. Sky Babylon used to be my favorite too! But there are so many tracks that IMO deserve more love, like Haunted Ship, Blizzard Peaks, the boss theme and Whiskers & Johnny <3

Funny to think SRA came out one year after '06, widely criticized at the time for being too melodramatic :P Whiskers is also a nice case of Eggman being the twist villain for once! Although the credits of the "bad" ending spoil him and Nega, lol. Not that Whiskers looks mysterious himself... eh you get it.

Marine seems to have been reevaluated recently, like many things from the 2000s. I remember that back then no one could stand her and her Aussie accent lmao, precisely because she was an annoying brat. She is still mildly underrated, but I think the modern fandom generally "forgave" her because they understood that she was meant to be a foil for Tails, who is more insecure.

(two fun facts: in some countries, SRA initially got a 12+ rating because Marine says "bugger", which is pretty mild for Aussie slang but is much stronger for American standards. Also, Marine is Australian because in original she speaks in Kansai-ben, and I guess that was a way to recreate the cultural connotations! That and koalas :P)

Title: SHIPping Experience

Last year, I've drew nine couples in one artwork during 💌 "Love Day"💘 (you know the one), then another couple has reunited after the return of Mocho 🐰🔵(Princkleminckle's OC). Links down below, if you want to see my artworks. But, one person who never been planning to get a date, and that's May 🐰👊💥 (Bryan360's OC). Since her debut, we haven't seen her planning to get a love with the boys because she's busying on herself for almost 10 years (kind a like me, in real life ☺ But, unlike myself...). That is until, my Chowder OC Aace Speedster 🐶🐺⭐ stepped in and he immediately had a love interest on May, as evidence from his wonderful story that I made it for him (again, links down below.). 😊 Finally, the new young love birds we're getting along from place to place, and among attractions that they visited is riding on the ship re-enacting the well-known 1997 romantic film, "Titanic". 🚢🌅 And since their wearing custom "Soft Rock" clothes courtesy of Aace's Speedster Twins, they can listen the wonderful Titanic's OST from Celine Dion → [CLICK ME!]. 🎧🎶😊 Man, who doesn't loved her beautiful song for "Love Day", huh?

Have you heard of Elebits? (Eledees for all the PALs out there)

It's a cool game about capturing little light creatures because you're playing as a kid with mostly absent parents (because they spend so much time at their jobs working with the light creatures).

It has a soundtrack that I really like, that kinda comes in 2 flavors

Plucky bass, has a background pad that seems a bit off tune but in a good way

Very plucky EP, same pad as previous I think, the ep with a delay effect near the end reminds me of Minecraft

Shadow in the garage and My town

Intro kinda makes you think it's the other genre haha, cool organ, cool groove, cool marimba in the second one, the speed of the second one makes me think of Spain by Chick Corea

World without weight and The secret room

The synth pad makes me think of the soundtrack of the game Monolith, kinda odd chords sometimes

Totally topsy-turvy and Big to-do in town

First one is simple and calm, love the delay synth/EP near the end, second one is more energetic and groovy and has a marimba solo (kinda)

Least favorite moment? Honestly, that's a harder question to answer than what my favorite moment is... Generally, it's more like I have a category of moment I dislike?

I guess for the case of Rider, the moment I disliked the most was in the Cross-Z V Cinema when Evolt just flies off into the sunset after everything's said and done. This world-eating eldritch abomination who caused basically every misery for all the main characters got off everything scot-free. It left a really sour taste in my mouth and it's come to be the epitome of a oft-repeated trope in Rider I despise a lot: the Redemption of the Asshole.

I don't really have a moment that sticks out in particular for Sentai, but if you've followed me for a while you'd know that I absolutely hate it when the Red Ranger has a catchphrase they randomly yell a lot. Like King's "Brave da ze!" or Lucky's "Yossha lucky!" It grated on my nerves so much that it lead me to dropping Sentai entirely for a while.

Oooh, W soundtracks huh! Nice~ I've actually had various versions of WBX on my KR playlist for a while. And I've had the soundtrack of Hard-Boiled for-effing-ever, I actually went out of my way to look for them.
