This is a 1981 Kenneth Motor Home Conversions Company (KMHCC, for short) Minihome, based off of the VW Bus Westfalia. It’s a complete conversion of the German van, turning it into a home on four wheels, with a completely new body, an extendable side deck (not shown), and a (semi) private bathroom, all in one. It cost 4 times the MSRP of a Westfalia, without the purchase cost of the van for conversion included. Between 3000 and 3500 were produced, with about 800 still known to exist. Produced from 1980-1991, with the discontinuation of the Westfalia (in North America) in 1991. The tooling was sold to a Brazilian company, and the cars were built in Brazil from 1993-2013 when the Westfalia was finally discontinued in Brazil, with Brazilian production totaling to over 8900 models built. One incredible thing to note is that this was the type of van used by NASA to transport astronauts to the shuttle, which is what the color scheme and background allude to. NASA had owned and operated three of these vans until 2019, where they were replaced with all-new Kenneth Ultravans, made by the same company. NASA still keeps one original on reserve at the KSC, while the other two reside in the Petersen Auto Museum and at Houston's Johnson Space Center respectively.

Perfect Wedding Transportation in St. Augustine: Tips and Ideas
Introduction
A wedding day is one of the most memorable and cherished events in a person's life. Every detail matters, from the venue and flowers to the dress and catering. One crucial aspect that often gets overlooked is wedding transportation. In St. Augustine, a city renowned for its historic charm and picturesque landscapes, choosing the right transportation can add a touch of elegance and ensure smooth logistics. This guide provides valuable tips and ideas to help you select the perfect wedding transportation in St. Augustine, ensuring your special day runs seamlessly.
Assessing Your Wedding Transportation Needs
Number of Guests
The first step in planning wedding transportation is to determine the number of guests who will need transport. This includes the bridal party, close family members, and potentially out-of-town guests. Knowing the headcount will help you decide the type and number of vehicles required. For larger parties, consider options like shuttle buses or multiple limousines to accommodate everyone comfortably.
Style and Theme of the Wedding
The style and theme of your wedding play a significant role in choosing the appropriate transportation. For a classic and elegant wedding, a traditional white limousine or a vintage car can enhance the overall aesthetic. Conversely, for a more rustic or bohemian-themed wedding, a charming horse-drawn carriage or a retro VW bus might be a better fit. Aligning your transportation with your wedding theme adds a cohesive and stylish touch to your big day.
Budget Considerations
Budget is a critical factor in wedding planning. While luxurious transportation options can add a glamorous touch, it's essential to balance your desires with your budget constraints. Research various options and get quotes from multiple providers to find the best deals. Remember to factor in any additional costs, such as gratuity for drivers or extra hours beyond the initial agreement.
Popular Wedding Transportation Options in St. Augustine
Limousines
Limousines are a timeless choice for wedding transportation. They offer a combination of luxury, comfort, and style that is hard to beat. A stretch limousine can accommodate the entire bridal party, making it perfect for group transport. Limousines are also equipped with amenities like plush seating, climate control, and entertainment systems, ensuring a comfortable ride.
Vintage Cars
For couples who appreciate classic elegance, vintage cars provide a unique and stylish transportation option. Imagine arriving at your wedding venue in a beautifully restored antique car, making a grand entrance that guests will remember. Vintage cars are perfect for photo opportunities and add a touch of nostalgia to your wedding day.
Horse-Drawn Carriages
St. Augustine's historic charm makes horse-drawn carriages a fitting choice for wedding transportation. These carriages evoke a fairytale-like atmosphere, adding romance and enchantment to your wedding. They are ideal for intimate weddings and can be used for short rides, such as from the ceremony to the reception venue.
Trolleys and Shuttle Buses
For larger weddings, trolleys and shuttle buses provide a practical and stylish solution for transporting guests. Trolleys, with their vintage design, offer a charming way to move groups of guests between locations. Shuttle buses are more modern but equally efficient, ensuring that everyone arrives on time and together. These options are particularly useful for destination weddings where guests may not be familiar with the area.
Planning and Coordination
Timing and Scheduling
Proper timing and scheduling are crucial to ensure that transportation runs smoothly on your wedding day. Create a detailed itinerary that includes pick-up and drop-off times, accounting for possible delays due to traffic or other unforeseen circumstances. Share this schedule with your transportation provider and ensure they understand the importance of punctuality.
Communication with the Transportation Provider
Effective communication with your transportation provider is essential. Confirm all details well in advance and reconfirm a few days before the wedding. Provide them with a copy of the schedule and ensure they have contact information for the wedding coordinator or a responsible party in case of any issues. Clear communication helps prevent misunderstandings and ensures a seamless experience.
Special Requests and Accommodations
Discuss any special requests or accommodations with your transportation provider ahead of time. This might include specific decorations for the vehicles, preferred routes, or amenities like refreshments. If any of your guests have mobility issues, ensure the transportation is accessible and comfortable for them. Addressing these details in advance helps create a personalized and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Enhancing the Wedding Transportation Experience
Personal Touches
Adding personal touches to your wedding transportation can make the experience even more special. Consider decorating the vehicles with flowers, ribbons, or custom signage that matches your wedding theme. Some couples opt to play their favorite music or even provide a small welcome package for guests, including items like water, snacks, or a program of the day's events.
Photo Opportunities
Your wedding transportation can also serve as a beautiful backdrop for photos. Plan for a few minutes before or after the ride to take pictures with the vehicle. Vintage cars, horse-drawn carriages, and limousines can all add an extra element of elegance and charm to your wedding photos. Coordinate with your photographer to ensure they capture these special moments.
Comfort and Convenience
Ensure that your transportation provides maximum comfort and convenience for you and your guests. This includes clean and well-maintained vehicles, professional and courteous drivers, and amenities that enhance the experience. Comfortable seating, climate control, and refreshments can make a significant difference, especially during longer rides.
Practical Tips for a Smooth Transportation Experience
Backup Plans
Despite careful planning, things can sometimes go wrong. Have a backup plan in place for your wedding transportation. This could include a contact number for an alternative transportation provider or arrangements with friends or family members to assist in case of emergencies. Being prepared for unexpected situations ensures that your day remains stress-free.
Dress Considerations
When choosing your wedding transportation, consider the practicality of getting in and out of the vehicle in your wedding attire. Limousines and vintage cars with ample space make it easier for brides with voluminous dresses. For horse-drawn carriages, ensure there is a step or assistance available to help you enter and exit gracefully.
Informing Guests
Make sure your guests are well-informed about the transportation arrangements. Include details in your wedding invitations or on your wedding website. Provide clear instructions on where and when they need to be for pick-ups and drop-offs. This helps prevent confusion and ensures that everyone arrives on time.
Conclusion
Perfect wedding transportation in St. Augustine involves careful planning, attention to detail, and a touch of creativity. By assessing your needs, exploring various transportation options, and coordinating effectively with your provider, you can ensure that your special day runs smoothly and stylishly. Whether you opt for a classic limousine, a vintage car, a charming horse-drawn carriage, or a practical shuttle bus, the right transportation adds elegance and convenience to your wedding. Embrace the historic charm and beauty of St. Augustine, and make your wedding day unforgettable with the perfect transportation.

VW ID.Buzz: A Trip to England to Drive VW's Electric Game-Changer! NEWS from Test Miles on Vimeo.
In an automotive world rapidly shifting gears towards electric mobility, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz emerges not just as a vehicle but as a statement. This electric marvel, reimagining the iconic Volkswagen T1 with a futuristic twist, is steering the conversation around electric vehicles (EVs) into new, uncharted territories. With an impressive range of up to 258 miles (415 km) on a single charge, the ID.Buzz is setting benchmarks that beg the question: Is the future of family travel electric?
Charging technology is at the heart of the EV revolution, and the ID.Buzz stands out with its ability to power up at speeds of up to 170kW (227 hp) at public charging stations, or more modestly at 11kW (14.7 hp) from AC points. This flexibility in charging ensures that the ID.Buzz can adapt to various user needs, proving its mettle in a real-world range test where it achieved 203 miles (327 km), hitting 80% of its advertised capacity at 2.7 miles (4.3 km) per kWh.
But what does this mean for potential buyers? With a retail price stretching from £59,035 to £63,835 (approximately $77,000 to $83,000), the ID.Buzz is positioned as a premium option in the EV market. However, through platforms like carwow, savings are available, making it a competitive option for those looking to invest in the future of clean mobility. For those considering the leap, monthly payments start at £515 (about $670), with pre-owned models beginning at £46,990 (around $61,000), offering a range of entry points for different budgets.
Safety is another cornerstone of the ID.Buzz’s appeal, boasting a five-star Euro NCAP rating that underscores its credentials as a family vehicle. This, combined with a spacious interior offering 1,121 liters (39.6 cubic feet) of boot space — dwarfing competitors — and a plethora of stowage options, sets a new standard in EV practicality.
Despite its van-like dimensions, the ID.Buzz drives with the agility of a much smaller car, thanks to a turning circle of just 11.1 meters (36.4 feet) and a rear-wheel-drive setup that enhances maneuverability and driving dynamics. Yet, it’s not without its criticisms. The infotainment system has faced backlash for being laggy, and the design choice to omit air vents and electric windows in the rear, a nod to its sliding door mechanism, has been noted as a potential drawback.
Underpinning all of this is the ID.Buzz’s all-electric powertrain, featuring a 77kWh battery that supports fast charging — allowing the vehicle to recharge from 10-80% in just half an hour. Yet, looming on the horizon is the 2025 road tax for electric vehicles, a development that future owners need to consider.
Despite these considerations, the ID.Buzz’s unique proposition lies not just in its technical specifications but in its ability to captivate. Its design eschews the prevalent SUV trend for a nostalgic yet innovative form factor that speaks to a growing desire for vehicles that offer more than just transportation — they offer an experience.
Launched onto roads in late 2022, the long-term reliability of the ID.Buzz remains to be fully assessed. However, its early reception suggests a bright future, with its blend of retro charm and cutting-edge technology appealing to a broad audience looking for sustainable, practical, and enjoyable family transport options.
In the rapidly evolving landscape of electric vehicles, the Volkswagen ID.Buzz stands out as a beacon of what’s possible when innovation meets nostalgia. As it carves its path on the roads, it challenges us to rethink not just what we drive, but how we drive into the future.

CSR POLICY MAKING ROUND
In today's socially conscious landscape, a company's true success transcends mere profit margins and headcount numbers. Instead, the benchmark of excellence lies in the public's trust and the tangible positive impact on society. In this regard, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has emerged as a powerful tool, acting as a societal report card for businesses.
Think of CSR as a compass, guiding companies towards social accountability to stakeholders and the public alike. It fosters a conscious awareness of their overall impact - economic, social, and environmental. Leading the charge are companies like Patagonia, renowned for its environmental activism and commitment to sustainability, and Tesla, whose electric vehicles revolutionise the transportation industry while combating climate change. These organisations, alongside countless others, understand that profit and purpose can coexist, cultivating trust and admiration amongst investors, employees, and customers.
However, the corporate landscape isn't without its blemishes. Recent headlines expose the pitfalls of prioritising profit over responsibility. Facebook, now rebranded as Meta, faces fierce criticism for its handling of user data and the spread of misinformation. Similarly, Uber's labour practices and Amazon's treatment of warehouse workers raise ethical concerns. These cautionary tales underscore the importance of genuine CSR, moving beyond performative gestures and embracing a holistic commitment to positive change.
Looking ahead, the conversation around CSR continues to evolve. The growing influence of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investing emphasises the financial benefits of responsible practices. Consumers are increasingly wielding their purchasing power to support companies aligned with their values. Meanwhile, regulatory bodies are implementing stricter measures to ensure corporate accountability.
The true measure of a successful organisation lies not just in its bottom line, but in the positive impact it creates on the world around it. CSR, when embraced authentically, serves as a powerful tool for building trust, fostering innovation, and driving a more sustainable future. As stakeholders hold companies accountable and the bar for responsible business practices continues to rise, organisations that prioritise genuine impact will undoubtedly be the ones shaping a brighter tomorrow.

Given cases:
1. Volkswagen's "Clean Diesel" Scandal: VW's emissions scandal, where they deliberately cheated on emissions tests for their diesel vehicles, highlights the potential for greenwashing and CSR initiatives being used to mask unethical practices. This case damaged their brand reputation and resulted in billions in fines and lawsuits.
2. Nestlé's Water Privatisation Controversy: Nestlé's aggressive water extraction practices in developing countries, particularly in Pakistan, have drawn criticism and accusations of exploiting local resources. This case illustrates the importance of considering community impact and potential downsides of CSR initiatives.
3. PepsiCo's "Aquafina" and the Fiji Water Debacle: PepsiCo's marketing of Aquafina as "pure" was challenged when the source water was found to be filtered tap water. Similarly, their bottling of Fiji Water was criticised for depleting local resources and contributing to environmental damage. These cases show how misleading marketing can undermine the credibility of CSR claims.
4. BP's Oil Spill and Greenwashing Efforts: The Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010 remains one of the worst environmental disasters in history. BP's subsequent greenwashing campaigns and perceived lack of responsibility for the spill's long-term impact on the Gulf Coast communities eroded public trust.
5. Facebook's Libra Controversy: Facebook's attempt to launch its own cryptocurrency, Libra, faced scrutiny for potential privacy concerns and its impact on financial ecosystems. This case highlights the need for ethical considerations beyond traditional environmental or social concerns in CSR initiatives.
6.Walmart's Ethical Labour Issues: Walmart has been criticised for its labour practices in its supply chain, with allegations of poor working conditions, low wages, and union busting. These issues have damaged the company's reputation and led to boycotts by consumers and activists.
7.H&M's Cultural Appropriation Accusations: H&M has been accused of cultural appropriation on multiple occasions, most notably in 2018 when they released an ad featuring a black child wearing a hoodie that read "Coolest Monkey in the Jungle." The ad was widely condemned as racist and insensitive, and it forced H&M to pull the ad and apologise.
8.Shell's Environmental Impact: Shell has been criticised for its environmental impact, particularly its role in climate change. The company has been accused of downplaying the risks of climate change and investing in fossil fuels that contribute to the problem. In 2019, a Dutch court ordered Shell to reduce its carbon emissions by 45% by 2030, setting a precedent for other oil and gas companies.

Unlocking the Perfect Adventure: Choosing the Best Van for Camper Conversion
The allure of van life has captivated the hearts of adventure-seekers and nomads worldwide. The concept of converting a standard van into a personalized home on wheels has gained immense popularity. However, finding the ideal van for your camper conversion project is a crucial initial step in this exhilarating journey.
Selecting the Ideal Van
When seeking the best van for camper conversion, several essential factors should guide your decision-making process:
Size and Layout: Vans come in various sizes, offering different layouts and interior space. Larger vans like the Mercedes Sprinter or Ford Transit provide ample room for customization, while smaller models such as the Volkswagen Transporter or Nissan NV200 are ideal for more compact conversions.
Mechanical Condition: Opting for a van in good mechanical condition is fundamental. A reliable engine and a well-maintained vehicle are essential to ensure a smooth journey without unexpected breakdowns.
Budget: Consider your budget and whether you're inclined towards a new or used van. Newer models offer modern amenities but often come with a higher price tag. On the other hand, older models might require more maintenance but can be more cost-effective initially.
Customization Potential: Assess the van's build, looking for features like high roofs, extended wheelbases, or factory-built windows that align with your conversion vision.
Top Vans for Camper Conversions
Several vans stand out as popular choices for their conversion potential:
Mercedes Sprinter: Renowned for its spacious interior and diverse roof height options, the Sprinter is favored for larger conversions due to its reliability and availability of parts.
Ford Transit: With multiple size variations, the Ford Transit offers flexibility for different conversion styles. Its accessibility and reasonable maintenance costs make it a preferred choice.
Volkswagen Crafter/Transporter: Known for its compact size, iconic design, and reliability, the VW Transporter is ideal for those seeking a smaller, maneuverable van. The Crafter, a larger model, is also valued for its space and dependability.
Dodge Ram Promaster: Recognized for its spacious, square-shaped build, the Promaster provides ample interior space and is well-suited for various conversion layouts. Its user-friendly design and relatively affordable maintenance attract many enthusiasts.
Conversion Accessibility
Consider the ease of the conversion process. Some vans may have readily available conversion kits or aftermarket parts, facilitating a smoother conversion process. Others might require more custom work and modifications, affecting both time and cost.
Personal Preferences
Ultimately, the choice of the best van for a camper conversion is subjective. Consider your priorities, whether it's ample space, fuel efficiency, off-road capabilities, or a specific brand, to align the van with your travel aspirations and lifestyle.
Conclusion
Choosing the best van for a camper conversion is the foundation for crafting your mobile home. Evaluate your needs, explore available options, and select a van that not only fits your budget and space requirements but also resonates with your vision for a perfect home on wheels. The best van for a camper conversion is the one that becomes the ideal canvas for your personalized mobile lifestyle.

Driving Your Campervan in Bad Weather
Planning for bad weather is essential when it comes to getting away during the winter months. And when living in the United Kingdom, bad weather is probably something to keep in mind during the summer months as well. Driving a heavy vehicle comes with many challenges when taking your vacation on the road. Motorhome conversions, VW transporter conversions and campervan conversions will have to meet various obstacles in the unpredictable British weather. So, to ensure the safety of the passengers and yourself, take these tips into account.
Challenges From the Wind
Fighting the wind in any vehicle comes with struggle, however driving your campervan conversions or motorhome conversions becomes dangerous when the weather is particularly intense. Drivers who are new to motorhomes, campervans and VW transporter conversions are advised to keep checking regular updates on the weather conditions. More experienced drivers will be more aware of what their campervan conversion can handle when it comes to the force of the wind. Motorhome conversions are high sided vehicles meaning they will be impacted by strong winds, potentially making it dangerous for you as well as other drivers. The highway code tells you to ensure there is plenty of space in between you and other drivers, especially bicycles and motorcycles. If you find yourself in a storm, reduce your speed as much as possible and keep in the left lane, don’t go below 50 as driving too slow will also cause accidents.
Challenges From the Rain
Before embarking on an adventure in your motorhome, check your campervan’s lights. Travelling on the roads, especially during this time of year when daylight is sparse, dim lights will most likely result in an accident. Visibility will become more of an issue during heavy rain and if other drivers are unable to see you on the roads, the risk of incident rises to extremely dangerous levels.
Other advice to keep in mind when traveling includes concerns for flooding and water damage to your campervan conversion. A common way to address these concerns is to contact the owner or grounds keeper of the site, or destination. When enquiring, you should ask about if flooding is common and how to go about making sure that there will be no potential damage to your VW transporter conversion. Moreover, you can purchase ‘flood kits’ to keep you one step ahead of the British weather. These will always be handy to keep in your motorhome conversion, to prevent a surprise storm that could ruin the interior of your vehicle leaving you with a substantial repair bill.
Further Advice
The UK experiences a lot of localised weather, meaning that because the weather is nice outside your front room window, it does not necessarily mean that everything will be fine on the journey or at your location. The best advice for this is to check the weather on the day before the journey, the night before, the morning of and if traveling with a passenger with strong enough signal to check the weather as you’re going along. Extensions or additions to your mirrors are encouraged to ensure visibility is never compromised by weather conditions.
If a large vehicle is not your primary vehicle, the adjustments will feel unnatural and it will take time to adapt to the different proportions you will be handling. When driving a larger and heavier vehicle, this brings a new variety of risk that the driver should be well prepared for. Combatting weather conditions will catch a lot of new or unprepared campervan drivers out. The above tips will help you prepare for a safe, but most importantly, well deserved holiday in any weather.

About the Land Rover Defender and its owners.
From Land Rover Defender...
Dark object of desire, Design icon that just by looking at it achieves the effect of transporting me to another place, to another era.
Like when I see an old volkswagen van and irremediably associate it with the hippie movement of the early 70s with those stickers and drawings of peace, love and freedom or, more recently, couples of young surfers rolling on roads in search of the perfect wave while listening to songs from the beach boys.
For me, Land Rover Defender is an adventure like the California vw t1 is Surfing.
Seeing this car circulating on the road or contemplating its image in a photograph of any magazine or website, evokes a trip, but not any trip, a journey of exploration, discovery, expedition.
A simple getaway of a couple of days, if you do it traveling in a defender, becomes an adventure. As you travel slowly, you savor the moment more, it seems that time passed more slowly, feeling every kilometer of the road, always aware of the noises made by the car, attentive to hearing some different squeak, constantly watching the temperature needle, engine revolutions, watch out for anything that indicates that we could have a problem.
And all this while enjoying the landscape.
Since it stopped being manufactured in 2016, it has become the object of desire of so many people that it has reached the point where the adage that says "either you have a Land Rover or you want to have it" becomes true and this has made prices on the second-hand market skyrocket.
The Land Rover Defender is a car endowed with a crushing personality, with character, drawn with lines so simple that they seem designed by a kindergarten child, make it a timeless vehicle, attractive to most generations, that both men and women like. This work of art is for me one of the most photogenic objects made by man, it embellishes any photograph in which it appears:
In the middle of the savannah surrounded by elephants, among snowy mountains wading a river, in the desert illuminated by a scorching sun or under a blanket of stars by the light of a campfire. When I see a photograph of this style I think .. and what do I do here? At that moment I look out onto the terrace of my house I look at the Defender and tell myself.. soon...
These sensations that this 4x4 transmits to me I suppose are due to the collective imagination, the Land Rover is the all-terrain vehicle with which we have enjoyed in a number of adventure movies and documentaries throughout our lives. Who has not seen photographic safaris, nature reports, in which the vehicle used for transport was a defender, or, those of us who already comb gray hair, how we have enjoyed it ad nauseam seeing it in rallies such as that of the Camel trophy in which this car was the absolute protagonist.
A vehicle that due to its imprint has become an easy resource for advertising campaigns, in which any item associated with this vehicle, whether it is a trip, a chocolate bar or a package of tobacco, is sold. When it is a girl who is posing next to the Land Rover, it is irremediably impregnated with the attributes of the car. She may be a delicate woman, and she may not be the prettiest, but, by driving a defender, she transforms into the wildest and sexiest Lara Craft you could wish for.
Those of us who drive this car know that by road they are noisy, slow, uncomfortable, hot in summer and cold in winter. The steering wheel is so glued to the left side that you have to lower the window and take out your elbow to get a little more comfort. Conversations on board a defender almost turn into screams. It is partly in this rudeness that its attractiveness lies.
And its natural habitat is not the road. The fun begins when it ends. The moment you leave the asphalt to take a track is when the car begins to find itself in its element. If you haven't driven one, it's difficult to explain.
It's a car that suits age. Scratches on the body, paint worn over the years in the sun or some bun on the sheet metal do not make it uglier or older, on the contrary, it is these scars that give it character.
Those scars and stickers of some famous rally or some recognized brand spare part in the off-road world that almost everything defends shines on its body like a bandage covering old wounds that tell us stories of the adventures lived.
That's how a defender is. But ... and how is its owner?
...And its owners.
After what has been said so far it is clear that the owner of a defender is not an ordinary person, a person in use I mean. The person who possesses it has to have something masochistic, with a clear spirit of suffering, that he enjoys in nature, whether mountains or deserts. That looking for solitude starts with its all-terrain vehicle towards places little or nothing inhabited. Moving away from the city, sometimes to nature and sometimes in search of new territories, new cultures.
The famous slogan adopted by Land Rover "ONE LIFE, LIVE IT" already tells us how the type of people who drive them can be: Friendly, passionate, dreamy people... always willing to lend you a hand if you find yourself in trouble. Colonels Tapioca inventing adventures in this globalized world.
Some people who, if they had the necessary space, could go to the extreme of putting the junk in their room.
I know one so passionate about the Land Rovers, that he has the aforementioned phrase tattooed on his right arm.
Do not put one of these in the position of having to choose between his wife or the car, because, if it is not because of force majeure, he will hardly get rid of the second.
Many, converted into mechanics by obligation, you will find them at the fairs of classics, spare parts, in scrapyards always in search of that part that they may need at a certain time or with which to complete the restoration of their vehicle.
Within this jungle of individuals that make up the Land Rover world we all have a few of the following characteristics but that, deepening a little deeper, you will observe some interesting differences that make it possible to classify them into several stereotypes:
First of all we have the nostalgic,
You will recognize him by going over the longest-lived vehicles. If he is very lucky you will see him on top of a series 1 or a series 2 although it is normal to find him uploaded in a series 3. Preferably, short films. An 88 short in English green is usually common. The nostalgic one also has a lot as a collector, which we will talk about later.
Don't talk to this one about improving suspensions or customizing the car, I'm not telling you about electronics anymore. Talking about electronics with a nostalgic person can cause hives. For this one, purist by nature, the important thing is that the car is completely original, like fresh out of the factory. Of course with that special patina of painting that can only be achieved over the years. The fewer electronic elements the car carries the better, the easier it is to maintain. If Pedro Flintstones' moving trunk had been a Land Rover, this would be the nostalgic's favorito. You will find it on good weather Sundays taking a walk in the nearby mountains. Putting him on simple tracks and without getting too far from his lair.
You will find it on good weather Sundays taking a walk in the nearby mountains. Putting him on simple tracks and without getting too far from his lair. You will see it wearing the car in classics rallies or on punctual outings with brand enthusiasts. His usual dress consists of a green barbour, brown corduroy pants stuffed in water boots.
Secondly, we have the collector.
Enthusiastic staunch of the brand, naming the word Toyota or Jeep in its presence is almost blasphemy. This man began his collection with a Santana inherited from his father or grandfather. Depending on your economy, you will have three or four Land Rovers, where you can't miss an 88 short, a 109 or 110, a Ranger Rover of the 70s, some classic disc and as a usual car the Discovery 3.
He is always on the hunt for a series 1. The jewel in the crown. The Holy Grail of the Land Rovers.
You easily recognize him by his clothing: sweatshirt and cap with Land Rover patch. jeans and Panama Jack boots. He is usually seen at any event related to Land Rovers. From spare parts fairs to brand concentrations.
If you don't know where to find it, go to the nearest dealer and ask them. Everyone knows him.
Thirdly, we find the trialero.
This owner is recognized because he spends his rooms reinforcing the suspension, raising the car, expanding the wheel arch, stud tires, a good engine mapping, equipped with Snorkel, anti-roll bars, fenders everywhere, a good winche and a collection of slings to get him out of the quagmire he usually gets into. For this driver, the car is more or less beautiful is secondary, the important thing is that he goes up. Nothing is enough if you can get the Land Rover to climb a little more. His favorite car, the 90. Over the years it may have evolved into a discovery.
He loves to put the car in mud to the top of the headlights and climb impossible trialeras.
It is difficult to know what his clothing is because he usually wears it covered by a thick layer of mud.
You will see it on off-road circuits, and in rallies for the Sahara.
He is looking forward to Christmas so as not to miss a summary of the Dakar on television.
Fourthly, we have the Overlander,
This one is easily recognized because he will be on board a 110. Even if you go for a snack to the mountain on a Saturday afternoon, it will seem that you are going to cross Africa from north to south or from east to west. He will carry, in case they are badly given, the car full of junk: in the roof rack, from a roof tent through a couple of aluminum trunks next to which military Jerrycan drums full of diesel and some drums full of water cannot be missing. On the side, some steel or duralumin unblock plates of a lifetime. It will be equipped with a snorkel and the front bumper with winch. The tires will be BfGoodrich all terrain.
A self-respecting overlander would not be such if it did not include a folding tray on the tailgate where to put the cooking stove, a webasto fridge, refreshment and all the unimaginable tools and spare parts to spend a nuclear war or a zombie apocalypse.
You will not forget to bring a drone photography and filming equipment included in order to immortalize your adventures.
Its usual habitat is crossing the peninsula heading south, especially in spring (when birds begin their return to Europe), or in national parks and mountain ranges such as Picos de Europa or Pyrenees in any season of the year.
Many foreign specimens are usually seen within this category: Germans and Swedish are usually the most common.
Captain Tan or Indiana Jones is the prop that characterizes him.
Fourthly, we have the snob, who has bought the Defender because it is fashionable. Normally a car refurbished to the last screw almost always with accessories signed by Khan Desing. Painted in a bright striking metallic color, raised with suspensions, fat wheels and a stereo that is worth a paste. You will have it parked next to the 911 porch in the garage of your villa. Don't talk to this one about putting the car in mud. It is usually seen in summer on fashionable beaches and nightclubs. In winter it is also possible to meet some of them in the best Sky stations.
You can see it with both a 90 and a 110. But hurry up because the new Defender will be changed shortly.
You will recognize him by his Fred Perry or Lacoste polo shirt with his neck raised upwards, his hair combed backwards held by Persol glasses and an alpaca wool sweater on his shoulders.
Finally, we have in this motley tribe, cool, hipster or whatever you want to call it. A cool Land Rover and a self-respecting hipster cannot be without one to combine it in summer with his Café Racer motorcycle. You will always see it in the summer season in a short Land Rover, series 1, 2 or 3 in a Navy blue color, with carefully chipped paint and fair dents to make it look like it has been in Africa. The important thing is to look like a tough guy. And let it be noticed. That's why the always convertible landy, the front windshield folded down on the hood, and some surfboards decorating in the back seat.
In the evenings it is usually combined with snob in the most fashionable bars in the city.
Your usual look: long, well-groomed beard, bib or jeans with hems bent outwards showing socks or boots, these made of leather in aged brown, checkered lumberjack shirt, chain with keys in the pocket attached to the belt buckle and arm covered by tattoos. On weekends he usually adds a tight vest.
That's how we are at this vanity fair. Surely we are each reflected in a mixture of several of these stereotypes. That here, taken to the extreme makes it cartoonish.
But is it that, if we are happy each one with our fantasy, what importance does it matter? The fundamental thing, what counts in the end is the enjoyment that each one brings out of our lives and in this case with our vehicles and that is that in short it is that: One Live, Life It and everyone lives life as they want.
Because this passion fosters important values: bonds of friendship, companionship, Family, team spirit...
If you look closely at the driver who goes inside a defender when he goes on the road, you will find a person driving without haste, nothing stressed, who probably wears a smile drawn on his face and who if he crosses paths with another Land Rover, lights will undoubtedly be given and greet each other effusively.
If they are refueling at a gas station or resting after a route, they are likely to start a conversation telling each other anecdotes about the trip or the car.
It is usually normal to find them traveling in a herd in the bush or in the desert, where it is easy for some problem to arise and solving it among several is always easier.
It is also not uncommon to meet lone wolves or traveling as a couple going around the world like the one who goes to the corner bar to get some beers.
Bursts.

VW ID.Buzz: A Trip to England to Drive VW's Electric Game-Changer! FEATURE from Test Miles on Vimeo.
