Angry Strauss x Tremere fledgling reader

[TW- emotional manipulation. This came from me realizing there’s nowhere near enough fics for him and also not enough of him actually showing the cruel side of his nature totally not me saying I want him to be mean to me]

There was little that upset Maximilian Strauss. Even when there was he wasn’t the type to show those emotions outwardly. However, even he had his limits; the times when circumstances and his own disposition of the day aligned such that he was a bit more vocal about his feelings than he usually ever would be. And, as you were about to find out, when he was pushed too far there was a reminder of why he, though usually carrying himself as a quiet scholar was feared by many of the other kindred. He was going to make you aware of that; gently, but you were going to be made aware.

Strauss would say that he is at least partially to blame for this, as he had appointed you to be the go-between for himself and the Anarchs. He knew that you being younger than he and closer to the age of the people in their group would be a better fit and that the Anarchs would be less inclined to antagonize someone that wasn’t higher in the ranks of the Camarilla. This would likely be because if you proved yourself as non-threatening to them and perhaps even friendly, they might be inclined to recruit you; though Strauss was convinced that you would never, knowing that your loyalties lay with the clan. It seemed he didn’t take time to think of all of the possible outcomes for this as you and those brutes down in that dive bar were starting to become quite close. A side effect of that was you taking on some undesirable characteristics of theirs, namely thinking that you could do whatever you want whenever you wanted. If word were to get out that you were acting in such a way while you were under his supervision, his reputation would be ruined. More important than that, however, was the fact that he refused to be disrespected like this.

The door to the chantry opened and Strauss knew it was you. The two of you were the only ones living here at the time. The ever-changing corridors were very straightforward tonight, almost as though they could feel his dark mood and the chantry itself was getting out of his way to avoid it. You, however, seemed to be wholly unaware of how serious the situation was as when he entered the foyer you greeted him with a cheery, “Good evening.” Strauss didn’t respond, he only commanded, “Come speak to me in the main study.” Still not comprehending the situation you landed yourself in, you replied, “Of course. Just let me-”

“Immediately.”

Strauss didn’t raise his voice. He didn’t need to. The fact that he was demanding rather than politely asking let you know there was something big going on. Without another word, you wouldn’t dare to try another, you followed him. When you got to the study, you could have sworn that he had the flame in the fireplace burning hotter and more noticeably and dangerously brighter than it usually was. But, this could be your natural disposition to fire as a kindred mixing with the nerves of what he might want to talk about. When the both of you were in the study Strauss gave a curt, “Sit,” without even turning to look at you and motioning to one of the decorative sofas. When you hesitated, he then turned just enough to eye you, those eyes burning like the fire he was standing in front of. “Sit.” He repeated unkindly and there was no longer any hesitation on your part.

“Before we begin our talk, let me make something clear. We will not be actually talking. I will be reminding you of how you are to behave yourself and how you are to represent your clan when you are out of this chantry, and you will be still and listen quietly until I am finished.” You went to affirm that you understood what he had just said, but were cut short as soon as your mouth opened. “I said quietly.” Strauss scolded.

There was silence for a time. Strauss was facing away from you once again. The smoking jacket that he was wearing tonight was black with silken patterns shining a dark silver, the shadowy tones of it making his already pale skin look ghostly. The glimpse you caught of his eyes earlier, burning amber tempered only by red lenses let you see the anger that the rest of his face stoically hid. This bout of silence was terrifying, harrowing, and it was meant to be. You were supposed to sit there and stew in the unknown ramifications of whatever it was that you had done to upset him to this extent. Your nerves were stinging, eroding, eating you from the inside out, making it so that Strauss wouldn’t even have to say a word to make you frantically search through all of your actions to find and apologize for the offending ones. Unfortunately for you, he still had plenty to say.

“There was a certain level of trust that I gave you when I appointed you for such an important task. I believed that I could give you that trust and that you would respect that privilege.” Strauss then turned to look at you fully and his leer made your entire body tense up. “It seems that trust was misplaced and that respect was disregarded.” Strauss stepped from the fireplace and in front of you. There was never a time when you felt so small, shrinking back into the corner of the sofa even more than you already had. “How do you suppose I should react to such a blatant disregard for myself as a person?” If there was one thing that he could commend you for it was that you remembered instructions and didn’t try to answer. Strauss did not make any effort to answer either; much more effective to have you think of your own fears than for him to try to guess at them.

Strauss placed a hand on the arm of the sofa, making you feel even more boxed in. The feeling worsened when the other hand was placed on your shoulder, hold firm, threatening, just firm enough for his nails to start to push into your skin; he wasn’t wearing gloves as he almost always did for this very purpose. “Until you have proven to me that you are in fact able to show me the proper amount of respect- respect for guiding you through your challenging first nights as a kindred, respect for taking you into this chantry as your haven, respect for risking my credibility and status by advocating for your acceptance into the Pyramid- I will not allow you to return to the Anarch’s territory. I cannot and that is your fault.” He gave a moment for these words to sink in. “Furthermore, your time away from this chantry will be limited and supervised. You have already proven that you will toe the line on your given boundaries, and I will be sure that you do not cross them entirely.” The hand on your shoulder moved to take hold of your jaw; though his grip was firm but not painful, his cold hands burned like ice. “You will learn to behave yourself properly or there will be more than talking happening if I must correct you. Am I understood?”

“Yes.” Your warbled voice did its best to answer

“Perhaps you should reconsider your wording.” Strauss’ hold did tighten now.

“Yes, sir.” You corrected yourself quickly, feeling your stomach twist in knots at this newfound, terror-inducing side of your regent.

Letting go of your face, Strauss reached into his pocket, pulling out a handkerchief. “There now. No need for the theatrics.” He admonished, but this time with a nurturing, almost babying tone as he used the cloth to dab away some bloody tears that you didn’t realize were starting to gather in the corners of your eyes and crawl down your face. “You be good and take this lesson to heart, and there will be nothing more said of it. You are my brightest pupil in the longest time after all. We just need to be sure your efforts are going in the correct direction.” Strauss took your hands and lead you to stand, and you were too dazed from the emotional whiplash to question the action. “Come, let me walk you to your room.” He knew that even though he had to make a point, being too emotionally distant would simply push you from him even more. So, now that the necessary firm hand had been introduced, the gentle one must be there to comfort its metaphorical blow. As he walked you through the halls he had an arm wrapped around you, pinning one of your arms to your side and the other to his. His free hand continued to dry your eyes with the handkerchief.

Once your room was reached, he opened the door and walked you in, leading you gently to sit on the edge of your bed. With a few more pats to your face, Strauss took your jaw to look at him once more, this time it was a cradle rather than a grip. “Rest yourself. It has been an intense night for you. I know I seemed harsh, but it’s all for your good, childe. Remember the duality of all things in life as comfort and aspiration for the future. Just as disobedience must be corrected, so shall good behavior be rewarded. Do well, follow guidance, commit to this life you were destined for, and I will be prouder of you than I already am. But, rest now.” His thumb glided along the area it rested on. “I shall return before dawn to check on you.” Strauss used this as a signal to politely tell you that you had better stay in here for the rest of the night, and you knew it would be foolish to ignore that implied command.

With that, he turned to leave. Right before the door closed him out of your view, you saw him place a corner of the bloodied handkerchief into his mouth.

Been playing VTMB repeatedly. What a cursed masterpiece of a game.

Great dialogue, surprisingly well done NPC facial expression and voice acting. Felt like playing something between fallout New Vegas (role-playing wise) and half life 2(mostly d/t source engine). 10/10 recommend. shame it was such a buggy mess when it came out.

A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)

Assuming you are close to Strauss and not just a simple tryst that serves some sort of higher purpose, Strauss will make sure that you are alright afterwards. He’s not a cuddler, so do not expect that, but pampering an exhausted partner is not a lost art to him. So you will be given blood, made comfortable and taken care of before he departs. He’s not the one to stick around for longer than necessary, but Strauss is a gentleman and won’t leave you stranded to fend for yourself.

B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)

Strauss’ favorite body part is definitely his hands. You think he wears gloves as a fashion statement? That’s only partially true. He also protects them for the things he can do with them. From using blood magic, to exquisitely pleasuring his partner, the Tremere Regent finds many uses for his hands and fingers, therefore guaranteeing you a truly expert touch. On his partner, he highly appreciates legs. A classic look of them in red heels (clearly his favorite color) is a true weakness to Strauss and the most obvious one to any person who has access to him on the intimate degree.

In truth, Strauss does not care either way. Whether to come in you or not, he will do as you ask. And he doesn’t have a particular fetish about you swallowing or playing with it. For him it’s just something that happens naturally, and no more worth mentioning than the weather.

Very experienced because no matter how he presents himself now, an Elder and a Primogen, Strauss had his wild days and learned a lot during them. Showing that experience might be tricky, as mentioned above with his dirty secret, some layers of trust are mandatory to be peeled before he starts revealing just how exactly experienced he is. But once that happens, hold onto your ankles, it’s a ride you won’t ever forget.

F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)

Absolutely cowgirl, in bed where he can lie down and watch you bounce on it. It’s not that he’s lazy, not at all. Seeing your body move is one of the greatest pleasures for Strauss and he won’t ever pass the chance to pull you on top of him. Very confidently Strauss does match carpet to the drapes. To put it clearly – he shaves. It’s a habit he picked up long ago and now can’t really go back on it. In life he was never the hairiest man so the nightly task is not too difficult, but he insists on doing it almost religiously. He also showers, perfumes himself and wears clean clothes every night even if he doesn’t really have to. For him – tidiness of one’s person means a certain status among others and he uses anything he can to show his.

I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)

You are his focus when having sex. His research is forgotten, Tremere plights put on hold, Camarilla can definitely wait. Nothing matters but you. While not the biggest romantic, Strauss will still find his way to make you feel appreciated and loved without needing to recite Shakespearean sonnets. Even with small things like attention to your comfort, a word of encouragement or praise, a softer touch where he might suspect you’re hurting. In these small ways the Regent will show you that currently you are truly the only thing on his mind.

J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)

A fan of touching himself, but not more than touching you. However, Strauss got a habit of masturbating during long nights when he was a younger kindred, especially during early studies of clan’s magic when he would spend a lot of time in isolation. He still has the same habit even if he does it less, but Strauss treats it as a way to relax, a pleasant pause during grueling studies and he takes his time to slowly stroke himself. Not exactly edging, but not hurrying to spill himself either, it’s one of the “finer” things that he enjoys without shame or hurry.

K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)

And speaking of blood magic, Strauss gets turned on not by what you show him or what you say him, but the idea of what he can do to you. Specifically, what magic he can use or even invent to elevate your sessions to the next level. He’s a very skilled Cainite, a powerful one too, so you might get surprised more than once with what he can come up with. Just don’t tell anyone else that Strauss is creating spells just for sex, not a good idea.

He won’t approach a potential sex partner first. If you show interest in him, that’s a good start, but if you wait around until Strauss makes the first step – you will wait until the world ends. And while he does pick up on hints, both subtle and not so much, he still won’t act upon them until you show open interest in him. Which goes same for bedroom for the most part. If you are not the one to suggest something different, he will rely on good old missionary. That’s not to say that he’s not interested per se, Maximillian simply has no time for guessing games and prefers if you communicate clearly. Once he knows that, you can expect him too to start suggesting ideas.

O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)

Equally enjoys getting and giving. While you suck him off, Strauss will let you lead and only comment if you do something he does not like, contrary to what he expects from you, wanting you to tell him exactly what you like. So if you’re looking for a quick relief, you better off doing it yourself.

R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)

He’s definitely open to experimentation of almost any kind. He will also take dangerous risks, such as involving blood spells, to elevate the experience even further. While there have been some very close calls in the past, Maximillian won’t lie about that and will tell you exactly what such activities and games might entail. To him – fully informed consent is the sexiest thing of all.

S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)

Knowing how to preserve his energy and stamina, Strauss won’t run “out of breath” any time soon, but he won’t waste time or effort if his pleasure is not maximized. However, if it is, you are in for a long ride. Several hours not being out of the question and he knows how to take breaks and let you recuperate, but if he’s really having a good time, then there will be several such intense session, sometimes lasting all night.

T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)

He owns some, but not too many. Despite that, he wields them like a professional and you won’t be disappointed. Strauss is also completely open to have toys used on him, no matter the kind. Very fond of orgies. The more the merrier, but usually these types of affairs are very superficial. If you participate with him, you will notice that Maximillian pays attention mostly to you even if he lets others to experience his body, becoming quite passive. Experimentation, specifically of the sexual nature, is reserved for you alone.

Pretty average in length, but thicker. Definitely pale, quite veiny, the head is smaller than the shaft but very sensitive. Curved fairly noticeably and Strauss works that to his advantage.

Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)

Decent sex drive but he doesn’t show any of it unless he finds a partner he truly can be himself with. Which means that he trusts you to a high degree, if not fully and completely. The longer you stay with Maximillian, the more he will begin thinking about spending time with you in a sexual way and the more you will find him yearning for your attention. How long that might take though is hard to say, might be years, might be decades. Persistence, so to speak, is key.

Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)

Strauss only rests when necessary and you will often even find him awake during daytime, even though he is extremely sluggish and groggy on those occasions. So you will be the first one to fall into the day-sleep and he may or may not join you in that. Most nights, when you wake up, you won’t find Maximillian by your side, but he will always leave you a note, telling you where to find him.

I understand where the roots of your questions come from. Any large gathering of Kindred gives rise to a lot of gossip. The trial of a new fledgling is no exception. As for Strauss, the answer is very simple-

Kindred x Reader that does jigsaw puzzles

Strauss- These are truly something that he almost forgot existed. It’s wouldn’t be that he would go out and buy for himself, but he might take a bit to do some of a puzzle with you. It helps him to remember not to work all the time, and there’s still enough thinking in building a puzzle to make him feel like he isn’t totally wasting his time.

Barabus- Despite being one of the more tough Nos in the warrens, he actually likes to do simple things like puzzles from time to time. The only thing is if it’s one that you are both working on, the puzzle will be staying at your place, as the damp atmosphere of the warrens would not interact well with cardboard or wood. Even if it was, he still wouldn’t as there would be no way that the both of you could finish it because one or more of the pieces will go missing, either from the general clutter of the Noferatus’ home, or from one of the others stealing pieces as a prank while he was out.

Jeanette- She is not a fan. A puzzle is an antithesis of who she is. Something that’s quiet and you sit down for? No, way! Give her an evening out with music so loud that she still can’t hear after she’s out of the club. She will love the pictures when you’re done with them though, and has some of your finished puzzles decorating her room.

Isaac- Will say that he doesn’t have time to something like this. However, every time that he walks by you he’ll take time to tell you where at least one piece goes. Soon, it evolves into two pieces, then three, then four, leading into him losing a good twenty minutes at least figuring out a section. While he was right in the he doesn’t really have too much time on his hands, he also enjoys the feeling of pouting things in their proper place. That is one of the reasons he’s a baron, after all.

Cabby/ Caine- He doesn’t see the point of them. Someone took a picture, cut it into a thousand little pieces, just for you to pay money to put it together again? For what purpose? Just buy the picture without it being cut.
