Shout out to my Aussie friend (I think they were Australian?) I met online on Kik who I spent time raving over VenturianTale. More specifically Johnny Ghost and Johnny Toast, we shipped them like mad. Jimmy Casket my beloved,,,

We lost contact a long time ago.

Uhh I haven’t posted in a while because I’ve been writing out the plot, I want this to be a very good story before I post anything. Also they plot has changed a lot so...yeah 😅

But, uhh just a reminder (or not) that this comic will deal with religious themes, specifically Christian/God related ones. If you have a problem with this, then now isn’t the time to complain about it, now is the time to stop reading. Okay? Okay.

Also another thing about this AU: it’s basically a swap AU at its core, ex: Alphys and Undyne are Queen and King, while Toriel and Asgore are chefs and restaurateurs. There’s also some other things to make it a bit different from a regular swap AU, but that about it.

Also to make my definition of Swap AU clearer: This isn’t based off of Underswap/Swaptale. It’s characters are based off of the canon Undertale traits. This is partially why it’s taking so long for me to get this AU up off the ground, I want to stay true to their character while also making it so it isn’t too boring for you guys.

Day 8: Favorite AU

Omg I love like all of the AU how dare you ask me to choose????

But anyways if I have to choose I’d choose my brainchild, Variabletale (Vtale for short)

Basically it’s a swapped au with no boss monsters.

Undyne and Alphys are ‘King’ and ‘Queen’ respectively, and MK takes the Prince role, with Chara still appearing as Chara. I don’t want to reveal too much for plot reasons, but I’m trying to make this a realistic story? Like ‘this’ happened, so ‘this’ happens because of it.

I dunno if I’ll succeed yet but I’m going to try!

Also there aren’t going to be any new characters (I think?) except for 2 monsters for plot purposes, Arial and Curly who are dead skellies :(.

It also was going to explain how Miraak and Vahl got together too but once again I didn’t finish. Maybe someday. Okay so this is Gaster and who I’m tentatively calling Arial (or Verdana. I can’t decide yet).

Arial is Gaster’s wife, and san’s, papyrus’ and curltz mom.

Day 15: Favorite Scene

So I was thinking about this one all day, trying to figure out what I wanted to draw.

So first I thought of the scene where Papyrus sees a human, sans tells him it’s a rock, then says ‘but what’s next to the rock?’ And Papyrus starts freaking out and next thing you know they’re just...spinning. Like all over the place. I love it. (We need more spinning skeletons stat)

Then there was a scene in my au (Vtale) that I cant reveal because I’m not even done writing out the whole plot, so... plus I can’t do it because this is UNDERTALE not UNDERTALE AUS! This is also why you won’t see any cute Kris, or Susie or police officer Undyne here because I’m restricting it ^^’

So anyways, even though I’m a strict pacifist, and would never think about going through with actually doing genocide, I love the reactions? If that makes sense? Because it shows a lot about the characters that you wouldn’t get from genocide.

Like papyrus’s kindness is infinite and even though yes, you did kill at least twenty people he still believes in you and won’t stop being merciful, even if it kills him.

Undyne will literally revive herself in an attempt at stopping you from killing the rest of the underground (and a lot of the times she succeeds because of how hard the battle is, and if it weren’t for you having the power to reset, you would have been stopped)

Muffet’s family still cares about her deeply, because even if she’s a swindler (gold digger? Gold trapper?) she’s swindling for the right reasons, or seemingly so.

Mettaton will try to stop you, despite how he know it will get him killed. And even if he’s doing it for the fame, that’s still a lot more courage then most people have. A lot more then I have.

And then sans. I can’t even begin to describe sans. I’m not going to even try, because I’m sure most of you actually know all about what there is to be known about him honestly.

But Chara. Chara chara chara. Now THEY are the most interesting one of all honestly. Because almost everyone assumes the worst in them because of their words in the Genocide route. But honestly I don’t see how their evil. Really I don’t. I mean think about it.

Chara is the first human who falls down into the underground. Now they wake up, and just about the first thing they see is a furry goat monster in their face. Now most people would attack said monster, because it’s a strange thing right in your face, regardless of how furry and cute it is. But they didn’t.

How do I know this? Well, it’s been pretty clear in Undertale that how much the monsters get hurt is by intent. Well, intent and LOVE and weapons, but mostly intent. I’m sure that if Asriel came back hurt or if someone told them that they saw the human hurting Asriel, they wouldn’t be very nice to Chara and be very cautious. This is seen in Toriel when Flowey hurts (or attempts to) us, and she immediately fireballs him away. Now this may be because she had prior interactions with him before, but this is also seen in the battle with Froggit where Toriel is there and she literally glares it away.

Point being if Chara had any intentions other then submissive and or pacifist and had hurt Asriel then Toriel at least wouldn’t have been so kind.

It’s seen multiple times that Chara has had good intentions/interactions (tries to make Asgore a pie with Asriel, helps the player and frisk as narrator, tried to break the barrier with Asriel, even encourages us after a FRICKEN GENOCIDE RUN that ‘another path may be more suited.’ . As in, DONT MURDER THE MONSTERS AGAIN.

I mean seriously. We just murdered almost all of the underground, and instead of encouraging us to do a Flowey (aka more murder) they say to do another path. Aka less murder.

If they really had evil intentions, they could have said nothing. Or better yet, done it for us, trapping us in an internal torment as we watch them murder the underground over and over again on the screen because they have our soul. But they didn’t. And that’s just...

Okay point being I really like chara, I don’t believe they’re evil, and I also like their snarky ‘who says your the one in control’ like a total edgelord.
