The King’s Declaration
Shortly after his children's funeral, the king took Fable's soul and put it in a magic container that would preserve it and it's strength. The underground now only needed six more human souls before they would all be free. The royal scientist focused his studies on duplicating soul power, so that perhaps they could break the barrier using only two or three human souls instead of seven. But it didn't work due to a fatal mistake made in the experiment that caused the royal scientist to die. His oldest son secretly continued his experiments, desperately trying to fix the mistake that was made all the while scared that he would have the same fate as his father, which eventually caused him to give up. The queen became outraged upon finding out about the king working behind her back, and she vowed to never let him take any other children ever again. With that, she left and no one in the underground ever saw her again but a flower named Flowey and any children that fell underground, who always insisted upon leaving and eventually escaped anyway due to the fact that she was scared that she would end up being the one that killed them. The king shortly after declared that any human who fell into the underground would be captured and brought to him. The thing was, nobody listened and would instead use the humans that fell as a way to keep themselves and their families healthy, and then bring the souls to the king.

The Fallen Human
The human, who's name was Fable, fell into the underground when she was merely eleven. The king and queen's son, who had been a year older at the time, saved and befriended Fable. Fable and Vamper became the best of friends, and eventually, siblings, when the king and queen adopted her on her twelfth birthday. Fable had everything she could ever ask for in the underground. Friends, a loving family, and a nice home to live in. But she still wasn't content. She still hadn't gotten what she was truly looking for when she'd originally jumped into Mount Vire. Death. Why did she not kill herself as soon as she had the next chance? Because she wanted to spend time with her mother, father, and brother. Soon enough though, Vamper fell ill due to not getting blood on time. Fable begged Vamper to drink her blood so he could survive, but he continued to refuse until she forced him to. Not wanting to kill Fable, he only drank enough to survive for quite a while, and that was it. Fable woke up a few days later, not remembering what had happened at first. When she did, she immediately hugged Vamper while crying. But no one had realized that Fable's soul was a rare one that contained a little more magic than the normal human soul, enabling her to get the virus, but only by a direct transfer of it. And that was exactly what happened. Fable eventually died of not satisfying the virus' needs, and Vamper died of the same reason. He decided that he wanted to die the same way as Fable so he could see her again. The king and queen were devastated. A few days before the funeral for the both of them, the king and queen went through the children's room for anything of importance. When they looked, they found Fable's diary and Vamper's favorite stuffed animal he had buried in his toybox. They read through the diary and what they read devastated them. Fable had been abused on the surface and her parents had forced her to work for them. And as soon as she was no younger or older than 9 and a half, sent her off to her aunt's and uncle's, who lived near the mountain, and she worked for them. If she did well, they would pay her parents a lot of money, being the generous rich people they were. But Fable was used to them constantly calling her worthless and good-for-nothing, so after a while she decided to climb the mountain and jump as an attempt for suicide.

Long ago...
Humans and monsters lived on the surface together in peace and harmony. They lived in the same towns, got goods from the same shops, and the children would even play with each other while the adults would talk to one another. But then a virus broke out, which mutated the magic that was the life force of a monster in a way that would turn them into a vampire. It soon spread to all monsters due to the fact that there was no known cure and there still isn't one to this day. The monsters could no longer survive on just the magic of their souls, they would need blood in order to survive. Since they didn't want to, nothing bad happened. That is, until the monsters could no longer control themselves. Their lives were in so much danger and their souls were cracking and sometimes even shattering, that they had no choice. Soon enough, half of human population was wiped out due to the monsters' rampage. Families had lost homes, children had lost parents, and parents had lost each other. Friends could no longer be friends through all the chaos, and human and monster love was now forbidden by both the human leader and the monster king and queen. Monsters fell to ruin at their loss of control and the humans finally decided to fight back after losing all hope that the monsters would return to normal. The virus had made them bloodthirsty killing machines by the hands of their own fates. Humans thankfully didn't have enough magic in their souls for them to be able to accquire the virus. Ultimately, the humans managed to drive the monsters underground just as they were on the brink of dying, only around three thousand of them left. Monsters on the other hand, died out quickly in the underground. Those who managed to survive what monsters might refer to as 'the fall of fate', came up with a way to lessen the virus' effects, enabling them to be able to control themselves. But when they needed blood? They'd resort to themselves. There was no monster you could come across in the entire underground that didn't have at least one scar on them due to need of blood every once in a while. But then a human fell.
