i'm trying to be braver in this fandom so have a little 3D paperdoll Murderbot (´∀｀；) armor, weapons & prosthetics are game assets, the rest is sims/vrc stuff. full breakdown/slightly nervous rambling under the cut-

armor is ME3 Cerberus, projectile weapons are Destiny Jade Rabbit & Hung Jury, hands are Destiny hunter gloves. (i had WAY too much fun painting over the textures to make them look more hand-drawn, lol.)

backpack, boots, and pants 3 are sims conversions, jacket 1 & pants 1 are vrc conversions. everything else I made with vroid + photoshop.

everyone else's designs i've seen are so much more badass but idk, I feel like spending most of its life in boxes/mines/space structures getting shot at means it always looks super unhealthy/pale/generally Like Shit, lol. pathetic wet cat of a killer cyborg<3

they ended up looking a little like call from alien resurrection, especially with shorter hair. this wasn't intentional but it may not be a complete coincidence iykwim

i still hate blender so fucking much that i fit all the clothes in skyrim outfit studio and then converted them back because it was easier than trying to figure out blender's model shaping tools. so if you notice any clipping, no you don't-

aita for wanting a 200$ refund on a 400$ model that was REALLY below par in both quality and customer service?

This was one of my first monetary experiences with my own credit card and account, to preface.

So, I'm learning SFM and have regular dates with my boyfriend in vrchat. Between the two of us we knew enough to make models of myself in both, but not enough to make one for my headmate that me and her would both be satisfied with.

TL;DR, the first modeler we went to cancelled after we proved too impatient for them and they didn't need the comm money, so we put out a post calling for 3d models and asked our moots to spread it on here and on Twitter.

Eventually, we found a few artists that were within our post-high-school graveyard shift budget, but then an artist appeared in our asks that was interested in our order. Now, from the very BEGINNING they were blaring Sus alarms in our head with how they typed, their profile, their portfolio, the whole thing, but we still talked with them about it and eventually got to dming on discord over it.

We agreed on 350 with a down payment for the model, and she went to work. Somewhere along the line it increased to 400 with a down payment but I don't remember the circumstances for why.

I was a little impatient at times, but she still did good work, even if she misinterpreted our suggestions sometimes and was high at least once when we asked for an update.

We'd assumed that she would rig it for SFM and VRC as a part of the main payment. She then told us it would cost extra for the rigging.

We were understandably miffed but she justified it with money problems, so we sighed and went with it. When it was finished, she sent us a ZIP file holding all of it, and...then we didn't have any idea how to get it working.

She helped us, thankfully, but the whole thing was really annoying for our computer illiterate phone-dwelling ass. And then we had no clue about unity because it had been years since we'd made the other model with a base. Then she joked about having a $140 fee for it and that was pretty much the final straw for us, deciding to just pay someone else to port it for us because we were getting genuine headaches from it.

Since then, we've been using the model as planned, but have noticed a lot of clipping issues with it, it turns out the person we found to port it actually does similar quality models from scratch for like a FRACTION of the price, and despite us telling her it was going to be used on Oculus(i refuse to call it Meta) Quest, it was INCREDIBLY unoptimized for it.

This is a first world problem to hell and back and I'm not actually going to do it because I don't want to deal with her again after all the miscommunication but

Aita for being suspicious enough I've been scammed/fed a sob story to want at least a partial refund here?

This project was started as a "2 week" project the day of the original UV being cancelled announcement though as with most things I went a little overboard. Oops hehe. But I'm glad I did.

There of course has since been an update on the situation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC9Ob7pHUlA ); but never the less I was still determined to finish, especially when a lot of what was said in the update video was also brought up in the animation!

Thanks for being a wonderful inspiration Jakei! Whatever you do choose to do next, I'll be here to support it! Just take care of yourself and keep doing what you enjoy.

Everything in this was hand animated in blender, no mo-cap or phys engines, and since there are so many wips of everything from start to end, I'll probably be posting them here and there and right up a mini thing about it all on my site eventually! :D (like the time-lapse of 3 hours of animating hair physics condensed down into 2 mins o-o )

After 2 months straight of animation I'm happy it's finally done ^o^ Sorry it took so long to come out (to those that knew in the spaces I hangout in), especially since I paused all my other projects to put this on top priority! I'll be getting back to avi making soon after a er… A well needed break o-0 May be streaming a bit the next couple days when I do!

Miami GP 2025: Race Overview

Okay semi-interesting race, let's dive in.

Congratulations to Oscar Piastri for a stellar win in Miami! Going from fourth to first is fantastic, and once he took position away from verstappen (after fantastic battling) he very cleanly held the lead for the rest of the race. His battles in the beginning (as well as Norris' with Verstappen) were in my opinion the best of the race. It was clean, it was nail biting, and really showed Verstappen's class in my opinion. Did he get passed eventually? Yes, but when you have what is probably the third fastest car on pace alone and you are able to hold off the two fastest cars (by a mile) for as long as he did, that is just pure talent.

George Russell also had a solid race, once again his good luck rearing its head in a Virtual Safety Car that allowed him to take third away from Verstappen. Was it super brilliant racing from him? Not really, but as always he kept his head down and took advantage where he could.

For the midfielders we saw some stellar racing from Alex Albon (who finished in 5th!) and Carlos Sainz. We also saw some great stuff from Gasly, who went from pitlane to 13th. I will also be counting Ferrari as a midfield team in this post, and Lewis Hamilton did very well, coming from out of points up to 8th rather cleanly (bar the team orders mess....again).

On the more negative side, we had four DNFs this race, Liam Lawson, Gabriel Bortoleto, Ollie Bearman, and Jack Doohan. Some crashes (Lawson crashed into Alonso, Doohan got clipped and had a puncture) some mechanical failures (Bearman and Bortoleto) so this in general was bad race for our rookies.

Aside from these things, nothing crazy happened. A few yellow flags over minor things, a VRC, and most people stuck pretty close to the position they started in, aside from some jumps due to teh many DNFs. The only other thing of note was that this was a very penalty light race, which I always appreciate. I believe only Tsunoda and Lawson received any penalties, and it was for speeding in the pitlane and a crash. Nothing really special.

I will dive more into my thoughts on particular drivers (and teams, *cough cough* Ferrari) in my winners and losers

So for context, I accidentally started a thread on Twitter of DogDay doing the Playboy spread which stemmed from a moment I recorded on VRC where I got someone with full-body tracking to do the spread.

I never expected it to blow up like it did & now there is fuckin' fanart of my clip & the video has been spread like wildfire of DogDay spreading them legs LMAO
