I really like the Shark vs Yuma duel in episode 10 because it's so interesting to see the protagonist lose important duels, I like seeing it a lot even if that duel itself didn't have the consequences it could've

Also!! I just finished the III vs Shark duel. I liked that one too :]

Auh, for ArcV, it's hard to choose, I love too many of the duels to truly just. Pick one. Or even a handful.

So many of the duels are a treat to watch because there's so many visual elements to them, the stakes are usually pretty high, so many different summoning methods helping to add diversity, they're all so interesting in their own way

Episode 22 - Blackened Sun

I have so many screenshots that I think this post might be long. I had to control myself to not use them all.

For starters, I think this has to be with the new animation director. Now Link Vrains actually looks cool, there are a lot of people dueling, and even kids running around? That is weird but at least it doesn’t look like a gray city anymore.

The eclipse looks really cool, and it seems it caused glitches in the system, back in SOL with Kitamura (who surprisingly hasn’t been fired ye) they are trying to see what is happening. It has been a while since we last saw the chess pieces, I wonder, why have they been absent for so long, especially after what happened in the data bank.

Ghost Girl makes a very brief appearance. That is pretty much what she says. Which may have been to make us think there was a new enemy of sorts.

Then we have Playmaker and Ai, also watching the eclipse. They say some interesting things on here. Humanity as a whole doesn’t matter how much technology advances, have always been the same. 

After the opening, we see a flashback of Yusaku and that voice, just then Naoki starts talking about “Athnoer”. 

This part was funny, he let Naoki tell him everything, even when he already knew.

All the victims share three (really?) traits: #1 They have exceptional dueling talent. #2 They use the old-type Duel Disk #3 They are all hackers

It seems there are a lot more hackers around than what I thought, also, there are much more people with Yusaku’s Duel Disk model, which may be the reason why nobody suspects him, anyone can have the same Duel Disk, so anyone could be Playmaker.

And by the previews and summaries, I thought the new target would be Go, that could actually have been a good way to take him back to the story. But all along the target was Playmaker.

Kusanagi has made a list of potential victims and, exactly the first one on his list is the new victim. An orphaned kid (what is it with so many orphans around) that happened to be Go’s childhood friend.

Hanoi is using the same virus they used with Aoi to no one surprise, it just seemed oh so similar that it couldn’t have been another way. Then, if Aoi was the first one they used it on, it was some kind of test to do this later on? 

Revolver wants to know Playmaker’s identity (obviously) and duel with him again, which is obvious will happen sometime soon. It seems, after their duel he genuinely is intrigued as to who Playmaker is. Maybe they even met 10 years ago. Was Revolver the voice Yusaku heard? 

Go goes to the hospital and we see a flashback of the moment he met Makoto. I have to ask... what is it with Go’s kid design? It looks so wrong like he was born with the same face. Just awful.

So, there are tournaments (not surprising), we may even get a tournament arc at some point (DM, Gx and 5Ds all had tournaments never watched zexal or arc v so I don’t know) it is more than likely we will get one.

Go spots Yusaku as he was leaving and asks for his name, I noticed that when he said “Fujiki” Go’s eyes start to make this anime thing which I don’t remember the word for flickering?, maybe he knows/knew Yusaku from before and Yusaku doesn’t remember? did he remember something? OR maybe I’m looking too much into it.

The new Hanoi Knights are on a rampage while Revolver only watches them. Now there are over a thousand member in the Knights, that is quite a lot, considering we had only seen like 3.

Here we have our new characters in their really brief appearance. Faust and Vyra seem to be in the higher ranks of the Knights, they may have even taken part in the “Hanoi project”, who knows, this time they were just presented as new characters, we will have to wait to see what their role will be.

Although I think we have seen Vyra before, it is the same hair, the same colors, and even the same eyes (and color for that matter), I don’t think for a second this is just a coincidence. I mean, if Ghost Girl barely tried to be anonymous, this Vyra just went ahead and used her real face just like Go.

 Fast forwarding to the end of the episode, Go pretends to be Playmaker, while literally throwing the Knights guys off their boards to lure Genome, he appears he knows it is not Playmaker. So Go offers an exchange, Playmaker’s identity if he loses and the virus removal program if he wins. Did Go figured out Yusaku is Playmaker in that small encounter they had? OR is he just bluffing? Based on the summaries, we don’t know if he is going to win or lose, so let’s wait and see.

Yusaku looks GENUINELY, concerned at the possibility that Go isn’t lying at all. I personally think he doesn’t know, their interaction was barely like 5 seconds long, Go shouldn’t be able to figure that out THAT fast. I still think it will be Aoi that will find it out first, that is if they interact both in the VR and in real life.

All in all a really good episode, there was so much happening at the same time I had to watch it 2 times to collect all the screenshots I wanted, I hope from now on the episodes will be like this one. Let’s see what will happen next.

I’ve been talking about wanting to make a ygo fan series for a while on my main and I finally did 🤟 here’s the protagonist and her rival! I’m putting their profiles and the info about the series under the cut because it’s kinda long, even tho I tried to stick to just the basics 💀

⏳ Yunori Aokawa ⏳

⏳Age 22

⏳Deck theme: Wind attributes, lots of winged beasts. Her ace is ‘grand meridian quaver’, an angelic looking monster with a scythe and eight wings. (At some point I’ll come back and design these girls ace monsters for real…)

⏳ Our protagonist! She’s wanted to be a horologist forever and is deeply interested in history; in the future she’s from, a horologist isn’t just someone who studies time, but is someone who directly can observe set points on the timelines.

⏳They do this at a company called ChronoCorp (which is lowkey kinda shady…Yunori doesn’t work there long enough to notice…there’s 20 miles of contracts and NDAs, and you have to pass several hard tests to even be considered to be a new hire, so needless to say, Yunori studied Very Hard) it’s basically just people assigned historical events that were poorly documented to go and transcribe what actually happened, using tech that lets them watch it on hologram screens and pause it (basically a fancy TV…) they aren’t supposed to be able to interact with the events in any way and time travel is not a (publicly) known thing…

⏳On her first week on the job she finds a mysterious ring on her desk with a note with her name on it and assumes it’s a company gift, and while observing, she gets so into watching the duel she leans forward to the screen…and falls in! the ring seems to give her this ability and to have a lot of mystery around it, including it’s origin, and it has a recharge time, so once she’s in a certain time, she’s stuck for a while (not to mention, at the start she has no idea how it works or how to control it…) it’s called the sidereal ring! Yes this is a time travel plot. It’s very self indulgent of me.

⏳I’m not including stuff from arc v, vrains or sevens because I haven’t watched them, so they’re non canon here I guess for now? The series is a 200-300 yrs after zexal!

⏳ Yunori is a very cautious, nervous girl at the start of her adventure, determined she shouldn’t be interfering with history. She’s genre savvy and is convinced she’ll mess up the timeline if she does anything major, but over the course of the series becomes more confident and realizes she’s meant to be at the places she arrives at. She’s a huge history nerd and geeks out over famous duelists also despite having stage fright herself, she loves to see other people duel and loves to duel herself!

🎃Deck theme: Halloween! Her ace card is a jack-o-lantern dragon called ‘boosilisk the hallowyvern’

🎃The rival character! She started entering duel tournaments in middle school to help her family because they were impoverished at the time, and by high school she was touring on professional duel circuits and had serious money. She very carefully developed and maintained her persona of being a spooky queen who puts on a show of being creepy while dueling, though she does earnestly love creepy cute things!

🎃She used her winnings to start her own company, Hallowed-Evolution. It’s the largest duel monsters costume and cosplay retailer! She’s pretty calculating because she’s been managing the company since she turned 18 to further support her family and handles a lot of PR herself. Although she threw herself into it so wholeheartedly that she never had time to make friends, which her family worries about. She’s so used to putting her persona up that it’s hard for her to make friends because she’s always got her mask up.

🎃Her and Yunori meet because Yunori lands in her time (sometime between 5Ds and zexal?) first, and because she owns her costume company and works with fabrics, she’s like What Is Your Outfit Made of. That’s not a fabric ive seen!!! (It’s Future Fabric™️) and Yunori is miserable at lying. Majo then let’s her stay at her estate trying to pry out details about the future (honestly, her first motives are to get details about the future to try and use that to grow her company…)

🎃 Yunori is a kind of awkward girl thought of as a history otaku back home so she didn’t have friends, and Majo doesn’t have any friends either, so they make a fun duo of Weird Girls and eventually grow together as people and have a full group of friends by the end. But at the start they’re both the same kind of too-focused on work types and learn to relax together 😌

🎃They butt heads a lot because Majo believes if Yunori is here, it means she was meant to be and shouldn’t be so afraid to mess up the timelines. (Majo is right, and smug about it later) Majo is also fascinated by superstitions and the occult and will casually say super morbid things which freaks Yunori out. Also, Majo is desperate to duel Yunori and beat her, because if she can beat someone who has the advantage of future cards and has studied duels as much as Yunori has, she’s convinced that’s the best victory that could be had. She also wants it to be a big showy match, but Yunori is like NO I HAVE TO STAY A SECRET IM NOT EVEN BORN IN THIS TIME YET!!! (They duel several times and yes, eventually on a big stage! Majo helps Yunori get over her stage-fright!)

🎃Majo also supplies Yunori with time-accurate outfits to help her blend in even though she doesn’t think Yunori actually needs to, and comes with her for pretty much all the adventures (Yunori accidentally brings her at first and while Majo is kind of excited to be involved, she’s more worried about her family and who will run her company, but when she gets back she realizes she doesn’t have to do everything alone because her family was reliably running it in her absence!) Her family includes her mother, her grandfather and two younger brothers (one 14 and one 10) and her mother was the one helping run the company for the most part.

If u read all of that thank you 🥺💗 I’m going to try and come back to these girls and develop more of a Plot and some VILLAINS and stuff, along with their ace monster designs…:3c I just thought it’d be fun to have a series that could go from filling in gaps of plot between the already established series, and being historical dramas the next ‘episode’ pfft. Going on the “Ryoken has severe mental health problems thanks to his asshole dad + once he realizes his dad was indeed an asshole” train, Stardust Boi has a tendency to be super self-deprecating, and this freaks Yusaku out a bit, so he just. Unleashes a tirade of compliments on the guy. 

And Stardust Boi’s like “No I’m not. No. No. That’s not true.” until Yusaku hugs him to get him to stop. Usually works for the time-being. :3c

BESIDES CARD GAMES? Taking naps. Particularly naps on the floor. Particularly with Yusaku sleeping on top of Ryoken. Actually it’s more like Yusaku sleeping on top of him and Ryoken just staring at him while smiling the entire time.

I mean, not that Yusaku ever does it, but he probably could carry Ryoken if he ever wanted to.

Ryoken about Yusaku: the rare (to him) and elusive Super Soft Yusaku Egao(tm). Gives him butterflies every damn time.

Yusaku about Ryoken: oddly specific, but Ryoken’s hair when it’s just washed (which is.... not everyday lets say. b/c he doesn’t need to. he’s a thick-hair boi) and conditioned. it’s like Supreme Soft(tm) at that point and Yusaku likes running his fingers through it (after Ryoken’s like “YOUR HANDS BETTER BE CLEAN I S2G” + Yusaku’s like “what do you take me for.”)

anyway y’all remember how VRAINS used to emphasize that Yusaku had nightmares for a decade about the Lost Incident? 

well, considering Dr. Kogami (fuck him) let his own son listen to the sounds of screaming children as they’re electrocuted, I’m damn sure Ryoken has nightmares about that and has problems sleeping b/c of it, even having a few panic attacks. Yusaku can help him with those (b/c he’s been there), but he’s not sure what else to do other than be like “Ryoken pls go to therapy I beg you.”

(but Ryoken refuses to go b/c he really thinks talking about it w/ a complete stranger makes it worse)

30. one headcanon about this OTP that mends it

ok but relating to the above, imagining Ryoken finally decides to go to therapy b/c Yusaku keeps insisting. And with the first few sessions, Ryoken gets worn out with every session b/c “wow emotions I didn’t know I had.” But Yusaku, being the real sweet boi that he is, always waits for him and always gives him a long hug. \ .D. / YAY HUGS.

Episode 101 : Unwavering Instinct

Bohman set up something called a Neuron Link to use the consciousness of humans to create his Data Storm. The three Knights, Akira, and Ghost Gal put their lives on the line in an effort to destroy this Neuron Link. They succeeded, but Bohman then started repairing the Neuron Link right afterward, leaving Playmaker in despair. Playmaker is now in a hopeless pinch. Thus, Ai decides to go for a dangerous gambit!!

Episode 102 : Entrusted Wishes

Ai destroys a part of the Neuron Link and enters Bohman’s program. There, he discovers the five Ignises that were absorbed. After escaping from Bohman's program, Ai entrusts his, as well as the other Ignises', final hopes and wishes to Playmaker. And now, the battle between Bohman and Playmaker enters its final phase. The future of mankind and AI all depends on this battle...

Episode 103:  Setting off to the End

After his battle with Bohman, Playmaker was able to free the consciousness of his allies. However, Ai, who has used up his power during the battle, as well as the other Ignises, didn't come back to Playmaker.

1)  Favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! series

This is like asking me which out of my six children should survive while the other five die XD. I love all the series since they all have both pros and cons, and they all have interesting characters and stories, but I guess ARC V will always have a special place in my heart since it got me back in Yugioh fandom (I stopped after 5Ds for a while several years ago). VRAINS is currently my favourite series plotwise since it continues to surprise me and keeps me hyped every single week.

5)  Favourite opening/ending

For the opening, it’s a tie between second and fifth ARC V opening. “Burn” has an incredibly upbeat melody that makes me smile every time I listen to it. “Light of Hope” on the other hand tells a story of how there is despair but smiles will be there to make it go away. I’m rather torn between choosing either of them since they are both really nice endings. As for ending - “Close to You”, 4th ending from 5Ds. I first started watching 5Ds in English dub but once I caught up with it, I was too curious what is going to happen next so I started watching Japanese dub from that point on and that was probably the smartest decision ever. I got to see “Close to You” not only as the first Yugioh Japanese ending but the very first anime ending ever. I loved every single moment of it, of all the characters just chilling around the city, then meeting up, watching the sunrise and then riding D-Wheels with their dragons! It is an ending that is beyond perfect and really emphasises the bonds and friendship between all Signers. 

6)  Favourite character

If you had asked me this question before Takeru showed up, I would’ve probably blurted out the names of several characters and say how I love them all, but Takeru is a special case. You see, he is a character that I loved before he even officially appeared XD. I’m following the news, cast lists and summaries, so when Takeru showed up for the first time in an anime magazine (like a month before his official anime appearance), I fell in love with everything about him. Both his human self and avatar had all the right colours and designs that fit his personality well, his backstory was intriguing, I was already looking forward to seeing another Lost Child and out of all possible voices, he got to be voiced by one and only Kaji Yuuki (who is among my Top 3 anime voice actors!). Then he showed up in the new opening and ending and him being friendly and cosy with Yusaku was just plain adorable! I had no idea what his role was going to be but from that point it was clear - Yusaku is getting a new friend! And was his entrance perfect - lightning, fire tornado and then him! 10/10 Burner of Souls! Not only was he righteously hyped up, but he also continues to be amazing and I have a feeling his character will get even more development!    

10)  Favourite Duel Monster

It’s hard to pick a single monster, but I love every single card in Johan’s deck aka. Crystal/Gem Beast archetype. The designs are simple but so well executed and out of all of them, it’s hard to pick just one. I love their story, the legend and just the fact how much they all care about Johan, trying to reach out to him when Yubel possessed him. A big plus is also the fact how much personality they all have and they are always there to help up Johan.

17)  Have you ever cried over YGO and why?

You should’ve rather ask me when I didn’t lol. But yeah in every spinoff there was a moment that I actually cried. In original series there were two moments, when Yugi duelled Atem in the fourth season, letting him defeat him and then fading away in his arms and the Ceremonial duel when Yugi stumbled on his knees and cried, I cried with him cuz I also didn’t want Atem to go. Then in GX, it was basically whenever Judai would show vulnerability, cuz really, I hated his guts and his goofy overpowered persona. But then when he lost Johan, when he was afraid of Yubel, when he succumbed to the power of Supreme King and the entire season 4 when he was battling with depression - to see someone so cheerful becoming a mere shell of himself was so darn sad. 5Ds started darker but nothing could prepare me for two scenes, Yusei nearly dying, being afraid to duel and then watching his friend die in his arms and then losing another friend for real (Bruno! :’( ). Zexal made me cry a weird mixture of happy and sad tears whenever Yuma and Astral did something. When Astral sacrificed himself for Yuma I don’t know when I cried more - when Yuma watched Astral die or Yuma suffering from major depression for the next few episodes. But that scene when he got reunited with Astral was that more powerful because of it and their relationship is truly the purest of them all. ARC V, spinoff all about smiles was probably one of the saddest series, not just because of many sad moments throughout the whole thing aka. Yuto dying in Yuya’s arms for real, Yugo losing Rin, Yuya losing Yuzu, the fate of other Bracelet Girls and Yu-Boys and the overall ending, but also how inconclusive the ending felt. I kinda get the point was to show the realism of war, how not everyone can get a happy ending but it could still be executed better. Then there’s VRAINS…. *sighs* where do I even start with this….

VRAINS truly took the plotline seriously and doesn’t seem like it’s going to back down. It is like the writing staff put together a medley of the saddest moments in Yu-Gi-Oh! and were like, “Let’s make it sadder!”. From the fact that mere six-year-old children were tortured so badly, that Ryoken was so messed up by his father, that all Lost Children are still suffering in one way or another, that SOL practically killed a living being and all the drama that it’s going on between Yusaku and Kusanagi right now. Last week’s episode had me nearly tear up and for tomorrow I will most definitely cry. It’s just so painful to see someone so desperate to save their own family, to attack someone they were all set to protect just a few episodes ago… And VRAINS isn’t even over yet. I thought nothing could top Earth’s death scene, but from the looks of it, tomorrow will be getting a dose of the most painful feels.

19)  Least favourite series

It’s a tie between GX and the first series if I had to choose one. GX has a rather monotone first half when there is some stuff going on, but it’s really episodic and easily forgotten. While there were some interesting episodes, the rest was just one giant filler that tried to deliver too much nostalgia from the first series instead of developing on its own. And speaking of the first series - I know the card game wasn’t as developed at the time so tons of duels made absolutely no sense. Then it was only Yugi, Kaiba and Joey having the development and extremely long duels that were starting to feel off and annoying to watch. But overall - I know that was the very first series and the spinoff, so it was obvious it wouldn’t be perfect. What I truly love about Yu-Gi-Oh! is that it’s a franchise that continues to grow with every single spin-off, even if they’re becoming less relevant they are still getting stronger storywise.

22)  Least favourite character

This little brat is a perfect representation of how to create the most annoying character. Everything about him screams “annoying, useless and awful”. It would be completely fine if he was an episodic villain, but noooo for some reason writing staff was like, “hey let’s make this dude into Yuma’s friend”. I get it, Yuma can make friends easily, but for the love of God, why him?! Yuma has enough friends already, why bring this brat into his group? Tokunosuke has literally no purpose to be here but to cause trouble or be a plot device to bring Yuma trouble. Okay, I was fine with that one time that he got Yuma into trouble and Yuma still forgave him, but why the hell did they have a need to repeat that three more times? I feel the same way about Kotori - she has no basic purpose but to be moral support or act as a damsel in distress.ZEXAL had way too many characters and out of them all, they picked the most useless ones for major roles.

Canon datastormshipping. I think I made it clear why I dislike it in two posts already, but I guess I could sum it up for the third time. In canon verse they are two unstable people who bring out the worst of each other. They rarely interact, their ideologies are vastly different and they are in a way obsessed with each other in a very unhealthy way. If the two of them dated it would most likely result in a very toxic relationship which would only worsen up their already broken mental states. Again, I greatly dislike this ship in canon verse (in anime up to episode 92) and my opinion could change by the end of VRAINS. I still like the fanfics and fanarts that depict “what if” scenarios where their relationship could work (I’m actually writing one at the moment and I have plans to write one where I focus on their relationship in detail), but canon shipping just feels off and dysfunctional.

34)  If you met Kazuki Takahashi, what would you say to him?

First of all, I would thank him for coming up with those amazing characters and plotlines. I still love the original manga and season 0 the most since it had so much creativity with different games, but I can see it keep getting included more with new summoning methods and unique stories. Then I would most likely present him my idea for the 7th series and its protagonist. From the start of the series, there wasn’t much about card game production or who designs them. We got some info on how Pegasus discovered Millenium Items and the tablet with Egyptian Gods and in GX it showed Hayato working as a card game designer. I would love to see a protagonist who loves games just like Yugi and wishes to create more, so he strives to become the best card game designer. He is not that keen on playing the game since he prefers to make the cards more, but when he creates a particular card(kinda like how Takato created Guilmon in Digimon Tamers) he is pulled into an adventure where he must find other cards that contain powerful Duel Monsters spirits and he has to lock them back into their cards. I would also love to have a protagonist that can talk with spirits again since while Judai had adorable interactions with Winged Kuriboh and Neo Spacians, it was still largely brushed aside and not that much explored. So yeah please make the next protagonist into a card game designer, it will be unique and open to so many interesting plotlines and potentials.

With the exception of Akira, everyone gets at least 2 Duels, with Go, and Aoi getting three Duels (1 loss against Yusaku, 1 win against Lesser Knights of Hanoi, 1 loss against Revolver/Spectre respectively).

S1 of VRAINS is fairly formulaic, though end Duels, and lesser Knight of Hanoi episodes are entertaining.

Big elephant in the room of the first two arcs of S1, SOL Tech, will not be relevant in later seasons directly, even though they are one of the major factions in S2.

By the end of the S1, all of the Knights of Hanoi are defeated, though they will regroup, they will remain plot-wise minor, but screentime-wise popular antagonists in S2, and antagonistic allies in S3.

Revolver has a rather miserable loss ratio against Yusaku, though his status is preserved with his performance against other characters.

Due to promotion of Links, this season has no other Summoning methods covered, and each major character has one monster type, with occasionally with one Attribute covered. As LINK-5 monsters will not be common until S2's ending (initially existing as unplayable Tournament Prize cards), this season's ending focuses on Extra Linking instead.

We will do an overview of S2 later on.

It seems as though this team assembling is a lot slower paced than I thought since so far, Go JUST got involved in this whole thing and the relations between all three are based on shared goals and rivalry rather than straight up friendship(though i hope it will develop into it). How do you feel about this direction? Personally I am interested in this team dynamic and how it can go so far.

I like it! I think this makes sense given the sorts of characters we’re talking about.

We know that Yusaku is distant and doesn’t have many social skills to speak of; his interactions with Aoi in episode 6 and Naoki throughout have shown us that he sort of sucks at making friends, even when he needs to for reconnaissance reasons. He kinda blew it with Aoi for the foreseeable future; we have no indication that Akira told her Yusaku was the one who found her and took her to the hospital, so I don’t think she’d entertain talking to him again unless he gave her the whole truth. But that would require outing himself as Playmaker, which we know he absolutely would not do (at least not at this stage). So Yusaku and Aoi’s potential friendship is on hold for now, at least until the KoH is defeated.

And because Yusaku doesn’t want to out himself, he has no excuse use to reach out to Go. You could also say the same for Aoi. And my balls-to-the-walls theory aside, Go doesnt knew who Playmaker and Blue Angel are; he has no reason to approach these two random highschoolers.

So it looks like they’re gonna build ties with each other in Link Vrains first. They’re facing the Knights “together” now, but split up to do so; still, this is a step in the right direction. Things are really high stakes now so unless they’re somehow able to fight the final boss together, they’re not really going to be able to build up any personal relationships for the time being. That’s probably going to be reserved for after the KoH goes down; what triggers it at that point is anyone’s guess.

I was looking into the new characters’ seiyuus and this one was interesting. MC: IKKAN On his Wikipedia page, it appears he shares seiyuu with the Bishop. 

I wonder, it will just be one seiyuu doing two characters, which is pretty common or MC is the Bishop?

So I’ve been a bit behind on the news department when it comes to Vrains. Like I seen what’s been going on, I’ve just haven’t been in the mood to just sit down on my computer and really discuss my thoughts about it. As for everyone who keeps sending me asks, I’m slowly but surely going to be getting around to answering them if Tumblr hasn’t ate them up. Don’t know when with my schedule at the moment but I will at some point.

Anyway first off 90 (since I’ve haven’t even talked about that yet) and 91′s cast lists. When it comes to both of these episode, Akira and Ghost Girl are speaking. Before 91′s cast list came out, when I first saw their names, I thought this would finally be the time where Lightning would launch his attack on normal Link Vrains with his Bits and Boots, maybe even with Blood Shepherd as well. Since none of those names are on either lists, I’m starting to think Lightning might actually use Frog and Pigeon to broadcast the Blue Maiden vs Bohman duel to everyone in Link Vrains, not just to Playmaker/Ai, Soulburner/Flame, and Revolver to get in their minds. If that is the case, oh boy Akira. Just how many times is this dude going to watch his sister get hurt/killed? Because yes, even though from what I’ve been seeing a lot of people think Blue Maiden is going to win this duel, I just don’t see it happening even with the limited episodes we have left (which I’ll touch more upon later). They aren’t just going to have Bohman, who has been built up to be the next generation of Ignis and let me mind you all was based after Playmaker and Ai, lose to Blue Maiden. They have been building up a final confrontation between Playmaker and Bohman since their last duel where they ended up tying. Even before that, the writers made it out to be that Bohman could have won against Playmaker if he didn’t want to see how thing would play out in order to learn more. Blue Maiden winning this duel would be amazing for her character, don’t get me wrong, but just plot wise, it just wouldn’t make sense at all. Back to the cast lists, from 90 to 91, we are missing Flame, Kusanagi, Revolver, Brave Max, Hayami, Frog and Pigeon. Flame and Revolver probably will just have nothing to say for this duel. Brave Max and Hayami are probably just going to be one line reactions during 90, same for Frog and Pigeon, but Kusanagi is the one I’m curious about since we know after this duel, we are getting the match up between him and Playmaker. Seems that we are going to get the backstory on how this whole went down between him and Lightning in a flashback probably, which is kinda disappointing since I wanted to see how this whole thing went down in real time, but at last, we can’t get everything that we won’t.

Moving onto the news about ending 5, unless we get news about opening 3 sometimes in March, I’m seriously starting to think season 2 might not end around episode 100 or so. There is just no way in hell they can wrap this whole war up between Team Playmaker and Team Lightning in the next 7 episodes if Kusanagi vs Playmaker ends in 93 (maybe 94 since they seriously could make this a three part duel), give Revolver a duel, do something about Soulburner, and have the final confrontation between Lightning and Bohman before ED 5 drops in April. Let’s say ED 5 starts in the final week of April, that being the 24, we will be on episode 99. If that’s the time frame we are working with, here’s my best guess on how things could play out that could work. 

Playmaker vs Kusanagi - episodes 92 (March 6) to 93 (March 13)

Revolver vs Soulburner (the whole curse thing with Windy seriously is making me worried that this could actually happen now) - episodes 94 (March 20) to 95 (March 27)

Playmaker & Revolver vs Lightning & Bohman - episodes 96 (April 3), 97 (April 10) and 98 (April 17)

Season 3 starting - episode 99 (April 24) 

This is the only route I can see them taking that works for this time frame they have set. Will this actually happen? Probably not and that’s why I don’t think season 2 will be having a fitting conclusion like how season 1 had. It is either going to end abruptly like how the Virtual World arc in DM came in during the middle of Battle City or these last few episodes are going to be rushed as hell. This is why I don’t think season 2 will be ending on the one year mark that previous seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh have set. Vrains has always been such a weird series in terms of the format, probably because of its delay. Season 1 ended at 46 and it doesn’t follow the pattern of 6 openings and 6 endings changing at the same time like the previous series. Since we haven’t gotten news yet about opening 3, which for Vrains marks the start of a new season, ED 6 might still be apart of season 2′s line up. Don’t know what else to really say about this until March comes around where we will probably be getting the news dump about the future for the final year of Vrains. 

The last thing I want to talk about is that when we got the news about ED 5, we also got confirmation that Revolver is getting his own Structure Deck, similar to the Soulburner one, coming out for the OCG on June 22. Now this I’m very curious about. When we got news about the cards in Soulburner’s deck, one of the big ones was Miragestallio, who at the time was the very first XYZ monster that we had seen in a Vrains’ character’s deck. I wonder if they are going to do something similar for Revolver’s deck but this time with Pendulums? I always thought Revolver was going to be the first person in the anime to use Pendulums and this is giving me more of a reason to believe that. Give him some Pendulums Rokkets in this Structure Deck while making his new boss monster the cover card for Rising Rampage.

So I believe that’s everything that’s been revealed so far. First part of the Blue Maiden vs Bohman duel will be airing tomorrow and again, while I don’t think Blue Maiden is winning this duel, hopefully she and Aqua will put up a good fight against the guy.
