random ygo headcanon GO

Oooh okay so, this is a headcanon of mine that I rarely see that doesn't change anything about Arc V's plot

But! I adore it too much for it to not to be my answer so here we go,

So in the bracelet girls' designs we have:

Yuzu with pink hair blue eyes -> Serena with blue hair green eyes -> Rin with green hair orange eyes -> Ruri with,,, purple hair pink eyes?

It's only her hair that breaks this pattern, her eyes still loop back into Yuzu's hair

So I headcanon that Ruri has orange/yellow hair, but chooses to dye it purple :D

This manifests in me coloring the roots of her hair orange, and occasionally her hair will be waay more orange if she hasn't dyed it in a while(Like if I ever decide to draw her after she's been at acedemia for a while, her roots will be more grown out :])

okay this is gonna sound so wild but i was just looking through like old cjfs qotd answers and i realised that YOU!! included live the dream in your list of favourite fics and i had a ‘wait that. that’s the artist. the really cool artist’ moment where my brain was refusing to comprehend that

oh i also didn’t preface this i’m the beta reader for live the dream, have been since the start, my bud writes it. it’s just so wild to me that it’s as popular as it is and seeing stuff like that from awesome people like you just hits that nail in more

I kinda forgot I did that since I so rarely talk in qotd... that list is slightly outdated now since I've read more in that time which is funny to think about. Being called The Artist and The Really Cool Artist will always be such a bizarre experience because that's never happened to me outside of this fandom but has happened several times here... I just appear and say things in places and then people occasionally lose it. It's a high honor really to be considered so cool.. I don't understand it but I'm flattered nonetheless :D

Live the Dream was one of the first fics I read in this fandom! I've also reread LtD recently because I finally got around to reading Little Remedies for the first time ever... which fucked me up in a positive way I should've done that sooner. Having the context from Little Remedies on the second go of LtD made the reread such an enjoyable and new experience oh my god. It was wonderful. It deserves it's popularity! I'm glad my say on it is worth something to you, and possibly your friend/the author... also an equally new prospect for me. I also forgot beta readers were a thing (because I don't have one for my fics) lmao.

Serena for the character asks, please and thank you!

General Opinion/How much I care about them:

SERENA!! I adore her. I love her strong personality, her deck, her design, her character arcs, her origin at Academia, etc. I think she's one of the most interesting characters in arcv, especially during her introduction and in season 2

A ship I love:

A strange pick here, but Moonblossomshipping(Serena/Ruri!) I have a tendency to get attached to yugioh women, and I really enjoy sapphic ships. I think exploring their possible dynamic can be fun. Also them working through their trauma together is also interesting to me.

However I don't want to delve too closely into how I envision their dynamic because it's heavy on the headcanons, especially for Ruri, and it's not to everyone's taste

I also really like the concept of Moonfragrance(Serena/Asuka) Two strong defects of Academia, they have a dancing and figure skating decks respectively, etc. I think Serena crushing on her is hilarious.

(Can you tell I also have a tendency to enjoy rarepairs?)

A non-romantic relationship I love:

Platonic relationships are just as important as romantic ones!! I love her dynamics with the Lancers so much. I love the general dynamic of them, and I wish we got to see more of them in canon before Plot Happenings began.

Also I hold her and Reira's friendship close to my heart. They're such siblings to me, wish we got to see more of them specifically too

NOTP:

I don't usually like to say what my notps are publicly, because I usually don't like to be negative about things that a lot of people like. I do have a couple Serena ships blacklisted for my own comfort though

Biggest headcanon about them:

She really, really likes space and likes to study the stars in her free time.

I think if she could've gone to Yuya's house she would love all the animals there, especially Core

In a timeline where the counterparts don't fuse, I like to think she would attend the You Show duel school to become a dueltainer :D

An idea for a fanfiction I'd like write/read about them:

A canon divergent AU where Serena goes to the xyz's dimension with Shun, Yuya/Yuto, Gongenzaka, and Sawatari. We're first introduced to Serena trying to prove herself to Leo, and then trying to get answers about what was actually happening to people. She genuinely didn't know the atrocious Academia was committing and once she was convinced she defected to become a Lancer.

I wanted her to see the destruction, the misery, the genocide of the xyz's dimension, for herself. Because I think that could've started some genuinely interesting character interactions.

I kiiinda have plans to write this? We'll have to see if me and my writing partner can even get there
