"It's out of love for you, my child. You are my child, and I love you, and I want to stay with you. But you are safe, and the children there are not. They need protection."- said Peter Fouche, a British volunteer medic, to his daughter Nikola
Rose Fouche, 87, flew from South Africa to eastern Ukraine, traveling tens of thousands of kilometers to come to the Kharkiv region to see her son Peter.
- I came to see my son, just to show him my love. I missed him, but he is doing wonderful things here. He cares about people here.
This winter, Peter recorded this desperate video for the Western world. Peter is a British volunteer paramedic who, after seeing children die at the beginning of a full-scale war, could not stay at home and went to Ukraine. It was his love for his daughter, Nikola, that motivated him to get involved. I said: "It's out of love for you, my child. You are my child, and I love you, and I want to stay with you. But you are safe, and the children there are not. They need protection."
Once in Ukraine, Peter helped build a field hospital in Brovary and received medical training. Then came Kharkiv, Bakhmut, Sievierodonetsk, and the first lives were saved on the battlefield. Together with a Ukrainian from the UK, Tatiana Millard, Peter created Project Konstantin, an organization that has been supporting civilians and medics during the war. It was named in honor of their friend who died in the battle for Kherson. With the support of international donors, who provided them with the necessary equipment. They repeatedly saved lives and each other until the last day, when Tetiana was killed on a mission. It was a heavy loss for Peter... Now he is fighting in her memory. In a difficult moment, he tries to cheer up the wounded with his British humor. Peter's soul is warmed by thoughts of his daughter, Nikola, who is waiting for him at home alive. He also receives messages from the rescued soldiers who send him their photos from time to time. "Thank you for saving my life, I'm back in the ranks."
This meeting with his mother in the frontline Kharkiv region became a breath of fresh air for Peter to continue fighting for Ukraine.
- This is my mom, my example. You look incredible!
- My Peter! My boy!
She stayed with her son in this modest room for a while and then returned home. And Peter remains with Ukraine and continues to save Ukrainian soldiers in fierce battles.

🚨🫶🏻🏳️‍⚧️Dear Friends and Supporters, :))🏳️‍🌈
I am deeply grateful for your generosity and kindness. Thanks to your contributions, we have raised $300, which has allowed us to take the first step in building a shelter. While it is not yet complete, this progress brings immense hope and a sense of security for those in need.
I sincerely appreciate everyone who has played a role in making this possible—whether by donating, sharing, or supporting in any way. To our donors, your support, no matter the amount, is invaluable, and we truly appreciate your kindness.
With just $468 more, we can complete the shelter and make it fully functional.
Let’s keep pushing forward together to bring this vision to life
Beyond the shelter, there are other urgent needs in our community.
$150 can help us buy 50kg of maize flour, ensuring more meals for those struggling with hunger.
$80 can provide a 50kg bag of beans, helping to sustain many.
$100 can supply sanitary pads, offering dignity and comfort to our girls, mothers, and trans individuals who menstruate—so they no longer have to rely on dust and tree leaves.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Your continued support means everything, and I hope you keep us in your thoughts and hearts. Wishing you good health and countless blessings. ✨
With gratitude,
ADMIN- PD KHAL

I have cheerfully corrected people like that before and I will continue to do so when opportunities arise XD
the only bad part about going to the zoo is hearing adult men confidently tell their kids or gfs objectively incorrect information about the animals we’re looking at and having to remain silent. do u know the restraint it takes to say nothing when a grown adult man tells someone “falcons are in the same family as eagles” next to me? no babygirl. no.

Volunteers enter South Africa shaft to aid miners
Dozens of volunteers have entered an abandoned gold mine in South Africa to help what could be thousands of illegal miners who have been underground for a month. Because the miners entered the shaft in Stilfontein deliberately, desperate to retrieve gold or mineral residues, the authorities have taken a hard line, blocking food and water supplies. Earlier in the week, one government minister…

I got to pick the topic for our next movie club meeting again and I chose films set in, or focused on Africa, especially central or southern Africa because my heart aches for Namibia. It's been 8 years since we were last there volunteering to help protect wildlife and empower members of the San tribe.
My most favourite place I've ever been ❤️
