Ok so two things... It's supposed to snow this Sunday... eW! And this piece was initially supposed to be for the last day of fluff week (Snow Day), and I didn't finish it until now. So have the gang, mainly Pidge and Lance (OTP reasons) taking a stroll through the snow. Lance is not amused...

The Stars Are In Your Eyes
@voltronprompts I wrote this awhile ago but yeah. Beach Day Klance.
Lance traced the edges of their boyfriend’s spine as Keith slept on his stomach. He’d been stressing all week; calling Lance in the middle of the night, unable to sleep. Lance felt bad for their boyfriend. This particular piece was giving him a lot of trouble. He couldn’t seem to get it right; he’d re-sketched it several times and he wouldn’t show it to them. They’d seen his work before and they loved it, though they might be a little biased.
Keith mumbled in his sleep and Lance paused for a second. Was their boyfriend having a nightmare? They imagined what he could be dreaming about. Many times, Keith had called them about his recurring nightmares. It always broke Lance’s heart. They start rubbing what they hope is soothing circles on his back.
Eventually, they decide that it’s time for them to sleep as well. They situate themselves on Keith’s bed, wrapping the blanket around the both of them. Closing their eyes, they almost immediately pass out from fatigue.
When Keith wakes up, his datemate is gone, leaving the bed cold and empty. He pulls the blankets tighter around him, not wanting get up. Light is leaking through the window Lance must have opened. They do love their fresh air. The light from the morning sun warms the room and Keith can see dust floating around his room.
The fan whirls, making the smallest creaking noise. Keith should really fix that, but he can’t be bothered. Lance must have gotten cold during the night because Keith doesn’t remember it being on last night.
Keith practically rolls out of bed to go find his datemate. He really doesn’t want to wake up as he hasn’t slept all week. He finds his binder laying on the floor and struggles into it. Rummaging through his dresser he grabs a pair of skinny jeans and finds his oversized sweatshirt on the floor. Leaving his room, he sets out to find Lance.
He finds his datemate in the small kitchen. It was barely big enough for the both of them, but that just gave him an excuse to be closer to Lance. Lance smiles at him when he enters, and Keith smiles back. They make their way over to him and wrap their arms around him. \
“You look well rested. I’m happy you were finally able to sleep,” Lance says.
“All thanks to you. Thanks for being there.”
“Anytime you need me.”
“Whatcha making?”
“Eggs and toast.”
“Perfect.”
The two smile at each other over breakfast. “So,” Keith starts. “I was thinking we go down to the ocean today. You’re not busy, are you?”
Lance places down their plate. “Today? No.”
“Great.”
And so they spend the whole day at the beach. They splash in the water, they walk along and peer into shops, they buy ice cream. Before they know it, it’s dark out. The pair head back to the beach to walk along the shore. Eventually, before heading back to the car, they sit in the sand.
While Keith admires Lance, Lance admires the stars above them. “Aren’t they beautiful?” they ask.
Keith barely hears them over the crashing of the waves. “What?” he asks.
“The stars! Aren’t they beautiful?”
“I guess.”
“You guess?!”
“I guess I don’t see them the same way you do. Besides,” Keith pauses and Lance looks over at him. “The real stars are in your eyes.” Keith sees a faint glow of red dust their cheeks. They punch his shoulder half-heartedly and Keith laughs.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.” Keith leans in and captures Lance’s lips. They’re soft against his.

Movie night- Fluff Week Day 4
This was kinda inspired by the klanro/shklance mini comic where Keith just doesn’t react to horror, like at all. So enjoy. Movie night/Game Night
Shiro smiled at the sight of Lance standing outside the door, his overnight bag on his shoulder.
“Hi.” He gave Lance a quick kiss before leading him inside. “We weren’t sure if you’d be here. You’re lucky, we haven’t started yet.”
“Things started flowing together at the last minute. Thankfully everything got approved and the art show is scheduled to happen with my art in it. Now we’re just waiting for two more people and then we can get a definite date.” Lance said, looking giddy. Lance was an artist and had been asked by their school if he’d be willing to submit art for an art show. He had been sure he’d miss movie night with his boyfriends because he couldn’t finish his pieces in time or pieces that were done, weren’t enough. But he pushed through and when he got back to his own apartment, he saw that he had time to go over to Shiro and Keith’s apartment to spend the night with them. Honestly after all the stress, he was going to need this.
Shiro pulled him into a big hug. “I’m so happy for you. I can’t wait to see your art. I know it’s gonna be amazing.”
Giving Shiro another kiss, he gave him a giddy smile. “Thanks. Where’s Keith?”
“In the bedroom. Watching on the couch felt weird without you. We did order Chinese; there should be enough to share.”
“I’m fine.” Someone knocked on the door and Shiro and Lance looked at it.
“That’d be the food. You can head up to the room. Keith will be happy to see you.”
Nodding and giving him a kiss on the cheek, Lance went to the bedroom, where he found Keith under the comforter on his phone. He dropped his bag down and dropped himself on the bed, draping himself over Keith.
“Lance? What are you doing here? I thought you were going to be working on your pieces.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I guess you don’t want me around then.” Lance removed himself from Keith as if to get up but Keith grabbed him and pulled him back down, not letting go. “Gez, do you want me to go or stay? Make up your mind.”
“How about never leave?” Lance let out a content hum and cuddled up close, wrapping his arms around Keith. “I thought we weren’t going to see you tonight.”
“But you’re happy I’m here right?” Lance asked, resting his chin on Keith’s chest to be able to look at him.
Rolling his eyes but still giving him that smile Lance loved, Keith said, “of course I am.”
Letting out another hum, Lance tucked himself close to Keith, who held him just as tightly as Shiro had done minutes before.
Speaking of the man, he came into the room, holding the plastic bag filled with food that made the room smell of Chinese.
“I come bearing food. Lance we only ordered two drinks, was there something specific you wanted?”
“I’m fine. I steal your drinks half the time anyway.”
“I can attest to that.” Keith said, nudging Lance off of him, waiting till Lance was sitting next to him to push himself up more. “Just a heads up, we already chose the movie and it’s a horror movie.”
“Oh really? Are you telling me that so you can cuddle up next to me?” Lance asked cheekily
“Not likely. I’ve never seen Keith react to horror movies at all.” Shiro said, pulling the containers of food, handing Keith one of the drink containers and the large straws.
“Pft, yeah right. We’ll see.”
Safe to say in the midst of eating Chinese and cuddling, Shiro and Lance let out loud screeches at almost every jump scare, Keith not reacting at all.
“Ah, no don’t! Why do these people do stupid things?” Lance asked, hiding his face in Keith’s neck, Keith not bothered at all as he took a sip of his Sprite, patting Lance’s arm that was wrapped around him. Shiro was just hiding his face in his knees.
“Because it lets me get to cuddle you two.” Using that as incentive, Shiro flopped down across both his boyfriend’s laps, hiding in Keith’s lap. Keith patted Shiro’s head when another set of scream burst through the TV speakers, making both boyfriends let out their own. Keith might get deaf at the end of this but he got to spend the night pretty much cuddling with both his boyfriends, so it was worth it.

The One with a Blanket Fort
Summary: The children build a fortification to keep Keith's bad day out.
Notes: From the Babes in Space AU  and written for Voltron Fluff Week. This happens not long after Shiro invites Allura and Coran to stay on as crew, and everyone is still adjusting to having new people on the ship. If you prefer the AO3 format, you can find it here.
“Shiro, they won’t let me in.”
Shiro looked up from the navigation maps, raising his eyebrow at the sullen note in Allura’s voice.
“Who won’t let you in where?” he asked, figuring any of the kids were fair game, even Katie, if she was feeling stubborn; she was surprisingly forceful with her limited vocabulary.
“The children,” Allura huffed, “all of them. They’ve built some kind of fortification in your room, and they refuse to let me in unless I pay a toll.”
“Well, what do they want?” Shiro asked.
He was skeptical of just how strong a fortification the kids could manage in their bedroom, although he supposed, if Hunk was involved they could have managed something pretty impressive. A fortification sounded like Keith’s idea, and a toll had probably been Lance’s. Whatever was going on, it sounded like a full team effort, since the boys would never have left Katie out of a game they were all playing.
“You’re not suggesting I should give into this sort of behavior,” Allura folded her arm over her chest.
“They’re just playing a game, Allura,” Shiro laughed, “unless you did something to upset them.”
“Of course not,” Allura shook her head, “I just went to give them their lessons, and they wouldn’t come out.”
That was a little unusual, but not too strange. The kids like their lessons most of the time, but like all children, sometimes they just didn’t want to.
“So what did they want?” Shiro repeated.
“Snacks, and whatever it was Hunk was working on, and Keith wanted the book he left in the dining room,” Allura sighed.
“I’ll go check on them,” Shiro grinned.
He stopped in the dining room to get snacks and Keith’s book, although he didn’t know what project Hunk had been working on. He scooped up Katie’s tablet as well.
When he opened his bedroom door, he was greeted by a wall of blankets, reinforced with chairs and rope.
“Anyone home?” he called.
“Shiro!” Lance cheered from behind the blanket, followed by the sound of scrambling, then Lance’s head popped out between two blankets.
“Hi there,” Shiro smiled down at him, “what are you up to?”
“We built a blanket fort!” Hunk yelled excitedly from somewhere behind Lance.
“Daddy!” Katie shrieked happily, and Lance pulled the blankets back farther so she could come out.
She toddled out, latching onto Shiro’s leg, and Shiro turned the ‘toll’ over to Lance so he could pick her up.
“Keith is having a bad day,” Lance whispered when Shiro leaned down to pick Katie up, “we built him a fort to make it better.”
“Good job,” Shiro murmured, kissing Lance’s cheek before straightening with Katie, “so can I come in?”
“Can Shiro come in?” Lance called.
There was some muttering from the blanket fort before Hunk called out, “as long as it’s just dad.”
“Just me,” Shiro assured them, ducking under the blankets when Lance held them open for him.
The kids must have raided the ship for every blanket they had to make their fort. Most of the pillows too. They had made a nest of sorts for themselves on the bed, with colorful blankets overhead to make a roof. There were small lights clipped to the blankets overhead, and Shiro recognized them as the wireless maintenance lights they used in tight places.
Keith and Hunk were on the bed, surrounded by Katie’s toy and crayon drawings. Keith was bundled in his favorite blanket like a burrito, his head resting on Hunk’s lap.
“Shiro brought snacks,” Lance clambered back onto the bed, dropping his arm load.
“Mine!” Katie squirmed in Shiro’s arms when she spotted her tablet, and Shiro dropped her on the bed.
She giggled and bounced, then crawled over to her tablet, picking it up and opening up her space caterpillar game.
“How are you doing, buddy?” Shiro sat on the bed next to Keith and reached out to rub his back.
Keith grumbled and hid his face in the folds of his blanket.
“You want to come sit with me?” Shiro asked.
Keith nodded and wiggled free from his blanket enough to crawl into Shiro’s lap. Shiro settled him, tucking his head under his chin and bundling him back up in the soft material.
“You brought the crunchy ones!” Hunk scooted over to grab the bag of crackers.
“Mine!” Katie proclaimed, because at this point, everything was hers, even if she had no interest in it.
“You can have some,” Lance pulled a cracker from the bag and gave it to her, “but you have to share.”
She took in and stuck it in her pocket instead of eating it, and Shiro made a note to make sure to check her pockets before he did laundry.
“What’s wrong, firecracker?” Shiro asked quietly.
Keith didn’t answer, hiding his face in his blanket instead.
“Allura was being bossy this morning,” Lance complained.
“She totally was,” Hunk agreed, popping another cracker in his mouth.
“She wanted us to read all this weird stuff about lions and elements,” Lance wrinkled his nose, “it didn’t make sense, and it was boring.”
“She was noisy,” Keith’s voice was muffled by his blanket, “and I wanted to read my book.”
“I’ll talk to her about it,” Shiro reassured them.
No one in particular was in charge of lessons for the kids, but Allura seemed to have taken it upon herself to make sure they were educated, particularly when she felt Shiro was being lax in it. Most of the time, it wasn’t a problem, but sometimes she pushed too hard when the kids weren’t interested.
“Dad, you said they weren’t staying,” Keith wriggled his arms free of his blanket to wrap around Shiro’s neck and pressed his face against his shoulder.
“But I like Coran,” Hunk fidgeted worriedly, “he helps us with the ship, and he teaches me how things work.”
“And he tells funny jokes,” Lance added, “and Allura is bossy, but she’s not that bad, and she’s nice when we get hurt.”
Shiro could have done with less of them getting hurt, but they were little boys with energy to spare confined to a ship, and bumps and bruises were inevitable, some worse than others. He was glad to have Allura around when the kids needed patching up.
“You like when Allura goes shopping with us and takes you to weapons shops,” Shiro rubbed Keith’s back.
“She tells me about the different weapons,” Keith mumbled against Shiro’s shoulder, “and what they’re good for.”
Shiro wasn’t sure how he felt about Keith’s affinity for weapons, but he supposed as long as he learned to handle them safely and was responsible with them, it would be fine. He never had managed to get the tiny pocket knife Keith had had when he had found him away from him. Allura had shown him how to clean and sharpen it.
“So, if I talk to Allura about not being too noisy or bossy when you don’t want to do your lessons, do you think it would be alright if she stayed for a while longer?” Shiro asked.
Keith was quiet for a few minutes as he considered, then he sighed and loosened his grip on Shiro’s shoulders.
“Okay,” he agreed, “but I want to read my books during lessons, not hers.”
“I’ll let her know,” Shiro assured him.
Keith sat back on Shiro’s lap and pulled his blanket back over his head like a hood, then reached for his book. Hunk passed it over to him and offered him some crackers.
“Shiro, you should stay,” Lance said excitedly, “we built the fort ourselves, even Katie helped, and we can sleep here tonight.”
“We can leave it up for a while,” Shiro nodded, “you guys did a great job.”
“Hunk figured out how to hang all the blankets,” Lance jumped up to his feet on the bed, “and the lights were my idea.”
“Pidge handed us stuff and kept Keith company while we were building it,” Hunk added.
“If you stay, we can play games,” Hunk dug through the blankets, until he found a deck of Do-Go cards.
“Or tell us stories,” Lance bounced.
“Daddy!” Katie cheered.
“Lance, please sit down,” Shiro couldn’t help but laugh at their excitement, “we can play for a while, but then we should probably get lunch.”
“But we’re leaving it up to sleep in tonight, right?” Keith asked.
“Not tired!” Katie bellowed.
Lance flopped onto the bed laughing loudly, and Hunk snickered.
“Not now, Pidge,” Keith giggled, “later.”
“We can leave it up,” Shiro gave him a squeeze, glad to see him smiling, and accepted the handful of cards Hunk passed over to him. He immediately gave them to Keith; he still had no idea how to play the game.
It didn’t really matter though. Any game was a good one when you were playing it in a blanket fort with your family.

Title: Raised by Lions: The Great Escape
Rating: G
Series: Voltron Legendary Defender
Summary: Keith did not like being cold, but he hated being chased by the Galra even more.
Author’s Note: This one was written for Voltron Fluff week with today’s prompt being Beach Day/Snow Day.
Keith hated being cold. He could tolerate heat, darkness and even being hungry for a length of time, but he HATED being cold. Keith would admit it was probably the result of living most of his life in the desert. When he was younger, he had been mildly curious about snow, yet he still didn’t believe it was worth the sacrifice of almost freezing to death.
And the ice planet they were currently on made Keith feel like he was frozen down to his very bones. If he and Shiro hadn’t been in desperate need of supplies, he would have insisted to just keep flying past this place.
Keith sighed as he placed the last package in Red’s cargo bay and then blew warm air into his hands to warm them up. He was suddenly very glad Shiro had insisted they buy those furskin coats from the last market trip. They proved vital to Keith’s protection against the cold.
“Shiro, I got it all packed,” Keith called out.
Good, Red growled to Keith. I’m freezing my tail off and want off this ice cube.
“In full agreement,’ Keith said as he stood and shoved his hands into his pockets. However, when no reply came, he frowned concerned. “Shiro?” he called as slowly ventured back outside Red and put his gloves on.
His boots crunched in the snow and saw nothing around him but endless hills upon hills of white snow.
“Shiro?” Keith called out as he fought the knot of worry in his stomach as he peeked around Red’s leg. “Where are-”
A snowball to the face cut him off. Keith staggered, but the sound of laughter awoke him from his daze. He made certain to scowl as he wiped the snow off his eyes and saw Shiro laughing at him as he leaned against Red.
“Really?” Keith said with a glare.
Shiro snickered as he smirked at him. “Aw, come on,” he said as he build another snowball in his hands. “There was NO WAY I was going to leave this place without throwing at least one ball of snow at you.”
Keith gave him a pout. “Oh yeah,” he said with a growl as he kneeled to gather some snow. “THEN TAKE THIS!”
With all his might, Keith tossed a snowball. It flew, whacked Shiro in the face and even caused him to fall over.
Keith laughed as he loomed over and gleefully watched Shiro spit out snow. “Still don’t have any regrets?”
Shiro said nothing as he smirked and then shrugged. “Naw,” he said as he brushed snow off his jacket and then looked to Keith with an evil glint in his eye. “Once you join me that is!”
In a quick movement, Shiro grabbed Keith’s arm and yanked him to the ground. The boy got a mouthful of snow as he fell, but then didn’t waste a second to toss a handful of the white stuff at Shiro.
Shiro laughed as he attempted to shield himself. “NOW you’re getting it!” he declared.
The two of the wrestled and rolled in the snow like a pair of snow leopard cubs. Keith surprised himself by laughing, amazed he was actually having fun in the dumb cold snow. He snuck up on Shiro and managed to tackle Shiro by wrapping his arms around his neck.
“Ha! Got you now, Shiro!” Keith cried.
Shiro grunted as he reached around. “Not for long! Once I get out-”
A heap of fluff snow cut Shiro off as it was dumped upon both of their heads. Keith rapidly brush the snow off as he glanced around.
“WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?!” he cried and a growl was their answer.
Keith and Shiro looked up to see Red’s head looming over the pair of them as the last bit of snow dropped from her jaw and landed on Shiro’s face.
Shiro chuckled as he brushed it off. “Huh, I thought you said Red didn’t like snow?”
“She doesn’t,” Keith said in a shocked tone. “Normally she-”
Never mind my habits, Red growled. We need to leave NOW! My scanners just picked up on a Galra ship heading straight towards us.
Keith instantly jumped to his feet as he gazed up at the horizon. Sure enough, he saw the shape of a Galra ship not far from them.
“Keith?” Shiro asked all laughter gone from his face. “What’s wrong?”
Keith cursed as he yanked Shiro to his feet. “Shiro, we got to go! Galra ships are coming!”
Urgency filled Shiro’s eyes as he looked to where Keith pointed and then didn’t waste a second grabbing Keith’s hand.
“Go! Go!” Shiro yelled as they raced into Red.
Shots were fired as the door slammed behind them and Keith bolted for the cockpit. “Hold tight!” Keith cried as Red growled and flew straight up into the air.
More shots were heard, and Red dodged quickly causing Keith’s stomach to lurch. He glanced to the scanners and saw the ship was rapidly gaining on them. A wave of panic started to wash over him.
“Maybe I should fire back?” Keith exclaimed.
“No, we’re just ahead of them,” Shiro said as he gripped Keith’s shoulder. “Just focus on flying. You’re doing fine, Buddy.”
Keith swallowed and nodded. He then focus on Red’s controls and had her fly at top speed. He dodged another round of shots as they left the atmosphere and were back in space.
“They’re still following,” Shiro said as he pointed to the scanners.
“We got to lose them somehow,” Keith stated. “I’m open to suggestions.”
Cub, there’s an asteroid field up ahead, Red commented.
Keith grinned and thrust the engines. “Good idea, Red!”
Shiro cleared his throat. “What’s a good idea?”
“You’ll see!” Keith said as he steered towards the field.
Shiro gripped the seat and his eyes widened as saw the asteroid field. “Keith, please tell me you’re not-”
Too late.
Red flew straight in. Together, she and Keith dodge and weaved in and out of the asteroids just barely avoiding any of the rocks. Ketih glanced behind and saw the ship was attempting to do the same.
However, an asteroid the size of a house came into view. Keith had Red fly straight towards it. They grew closer, and closer.
“Keith,” Shiro warned as he grabbed the boy’s shoulder.
“Just a bit more,” Keith said as he watched the ship from them approach. “NOW!’
Seconds before hitting, Red sharply flew up and over the giant rock. The Galran ship proved it wasn’t as lucky as it slammed directly into it.
Red growled as Keith grinned victoriously. “Got ‘em!” he declared as he proceeded to steer Red out of the asteroid field. “Let’s get out of here, Red!”
Red roared as they zoomed out, and Keith continued to smile until he heard Shiro slump to the floor. He turned around and saw his friend was currently pressing his head against the back of his chair.
“You..okay?” Keith asked as the thrill of the chase left him.
“I’m fine,” Shiro said as he raised a hand, but then lifted his head with a disapproving frown. “But Keith, that was reckless and crazy! We’re lucky we didn’t crash.”
Keith gave a small smirk as he patted his control panel. “We wouldn’t have crashed,” he insisted. “Red and I do this all the time for fun.”
Shiro blinked in disbelief. “You have Galran ships chase you through asteroid fields?”
Keith gave a shaky smile. “Uh..correction, we normally go flying through asteroid fields to practice my reaction time, but we usually don’t have anyone chasing us.”
Shiro’s eyes narrowed, clearly not seeing how fun a game it was. “And whose idea was this ‘game’?”
Keith took a minute to think and then gave a nod. “Red, it was her idea.”
“Figures,” Shiro grumbled darkly as he rubbed his eyes. “Red has a very odd concept of ‘fun’.”
That’s because Shiro is a worrywart, Red growled and Keith could only roll his eyes in response.
“Give him a break, Red,” Keith commented and looked to Shiro’s confused expression. “Want me to translate?”
“No, I have a good sense on what she said,” Shiro said flatly with a sigh. “But, if you two are done playing, we better find a planet to hide out.”
Keith checked his scanners and brought up an image of a planet. “This one isn’t too far, and the empire haven’t conquered it yet.”
Not to mention it’s warmer than that ice ball we were on, Red purred.
“Sounds perfect,” Shiro said as he leaned over Keith’s shoulder. “Let’s go there until the heat dies down.”
Keith nodded as he turned Red to head straight towards the planet. 08080808080808080808080808080808080808080808080808080
They found the planet with little trouble, and landed on a beach with a clear view of the pink ocean. Red seemed relieved to in the warm sun and not freezing snow, and Keith agreed. The rest of the day was spent quietly as they recovered from their chase and before anyone realized it, the twin suns disappeared from the sky and night fell.
Keith and Shiro both headed to bed early since both of them were drained of energy from the day’s events. It didn’t take long for sleep to take over once Keith had hit the small mattress and crawled under his mound of blankets.
He didn’t know how long he slept, but he awoke to the sound of a whimper. Groggily, Keith lifted his head and instantly awoke. Shiro was tossing and turning on his own mattress with his eyes shut tightly.
Nightmare again, Keith thought as he flung the blankets off and crawled over.
It wasn’t anything new. Shiro had a lot of nightmares, and he often tried to hide them from Keith, but he wouldn’t let that happen tonight.
Shiro whimpered as he dug his fingers into the mattress. “No...no..”
Keith shook his shoulder. “Shiro, wake up.”
Shiro didn’t respond until Keith shook harder and stepped back as Shiro bolted upward. His eyes were wide and full of fear as he scanned around him.
“W-where am I?” he said and Keith made certain to remain still until Shiro spotted him. “Keith?”
“That’s right,” Keith said softly as he reached for Shiro’s human hand and squeezed it. “It was just a nightmare.”
“Nightmare,” Shiro muttered as he wiped the sleep from his eyes.
“Do you know where you are right now?” Keith asked gently.
Shiro breathed deeply as he shut his eyes. “We’re inside Red.”
“Right,” Keith replied. He felt the temptation to just flat out tell him, but Shiro had explained it grounded him better if he was able to reach the conclusions himself.
“And I’m not on a Galra ship,” Shiro said as he took a deep breath and gave a shaky nod. “Okay, right, I’m better now.”
Keith smiled as he reached over and pulled him into a hug. “Do you want to talk about it?” “No,” Shiro said, as he hugged back. “Truth be told I barely remember it now.”
He lingered in the hug for a moment before letting go and lay back on the mattress. “Although, I doubt I’ll be falling asleep anytime soon,” Shiro said as he stared up at the ceiling.
“Want to just sit and talk for a bit?” Keith asked, although he knew the answer given how their routine went.
Shiro gave a tired smile. “It’s not needed, but I certainly wouldn’t mind the company.”
That was all Keith needed to hear. He pulled his own mattress next to Shiro’s and tucked the pillow underneath his chin.
“I’m thinking of an animal,” Keith began.
“Earth or alien?” Shiro asked as he placed his hands behind his head.
“Earth.”
“Domestic or wild?” Shiro asked.
“Depends on who you ask,” Keith said with a smirk. “But usually domestic.”
Shiro frowned. “Can a human ride it?”
Keith scoffed as he raised a hand. “Not unless you want to lose a hand.”
“Let me rephrase it,” Shiro stated with a laugh. “Is it big enough for a human to ride?”
“No,” Keith said flatly. “Maybe a mouse, but I doubt they want to.”
Does it have fur? Red offered in his head.
“Yes, it has fur,” Keith replied and pointed to the ceiling. “Red is playing this time.”
“Ah, of course,” Shiro said with a roll of the eye and paused. “Does it purr?”
“Yes,” Keith said with a nod.
It’s a cat! Red cried.
“It’s a cat,” Shiro stated at the exact same moment.
Keith blinked and sighed. “Yes, to both of you,” he said with a sigh. “I really have to find a way for you to talk to each other.”
Shiro chuckled as he reached over to ruffle Keith’s hair. “Alright, my turn then.”
Keith leaned into the hand as he gave a scoff. “It’s a dog.”
“You don’t know that,” Shiro argued as he took back the hand and brushed hair away from his eyes.
“You ALWAYS pick a dog, or at the very least a wolf,” Keith retorted as he sat up and pointed at him.
“It’s not a crime to love dogs,” Shiro retorted with a shrug.
Keith kept his blank expression.
Shiro gave a slight pout and a snort. “Fine, no canines.”
“That includes alien dogs,” Keith said sharply.
“Oh, sure, take all the fun out of it,” Shiro replied in a mocking tone.
They continued the game until Shiro was able to fall asleep again. Keith gave a soft smile as he pulled the blanket up over his chest and let sleep claim him as well.
0808080808080808080808080808080808080808080
Keith awoke to find Shiro already gone from his bed. He got dress and found Shiro outside staring at the ocean as he sat on the blue sandy beach.
Keith said nothing as he sat next him and let the warm wind blow their hair in the breeze.
“Anymore nightmares?” Keith asked.
Shiro gave a half smile. “No, thankfully,” he said as he reached over and wrapped an arm around Keith’s shoulders. “Thanks for staying up with me.”
Keith blushed slightly as he fiddled with his gloves. “It’s not like you wouldn’t do the same for me.”
They went quiet again, and heard nothing except a few calling of the birds, and the crashing of the waves. A warm breeze hung in the air, probably meant it was going to be a hot day.
“How long do you want to stay here?” Keith asked as he leaned back.
“A couple of days at least,” Shiro stated as he dug his fingers into the wet sand. “We got enough supplies to hide out until we’re certain those ships have moved on.”
I concur, Red purred. Please, it’s warmer here than that ice ball we were on.
Keith gave a smirk as he sat back up. “You want to get breakfast then?”
Shiro turned his head and gave the boy a sly smile. “Sure, after we build some sand castles.”
Keith tilted his head. “Sand castles?”
“Yeah, come on,” Shiro said as he began to pile some sand. “It’ll be fun.”
“Aren’t you suppose to be the adult?” Keith asked as he crossed his legs.
“Being an adult doesn’t mean you stop having fun,” Shiro replied.
Keith looked unimpressed, but found his own hands digging into the sand. He carefully made certain not to look Shiro directly in the eye as he pilled his own sand.
“For the record, I’m only doing it because you’re a goofball,” Keith replied.
Shiro only grinned as he shoved his mound of sand to merge with Keith’s. The two of them build castles for the next hour, and Keith found himself not minding it.

Voltron Fluff Week Day 2:Sleepover Time
Prompt April 11th: Pillow Fights Read it on AO3 here: http://archiveofourown.org/works/10600650 So this isn't super focused on the pillow fight but oh well. @voltronprompts “Lance?” Lance turned to his teammate when he heard his name being called. Pidge was standing and clutching a pillow to her chest. She looked shy and unsure, a rare sight of the green paladin. When Lance directed his attention to her, Pidge continued speaking. “I know we just finished fighting a Galra battle but... I miss my brother and... I was hoping we could have a sleepover tonight?” “Yeah, sure thing Pidge.” Lance smiled. “As if I could ever seriously say no to you.” The joke made Pidge crack a smile and meet Lance's gaze. She and Lance were closer than any of the team members expected them to be. They even surprised themselves. Pidge found that Lance wasn't always so irritating and immature while Lance slowly discovered that Pidge was more than just sass and sarcasm. When they weren't bickering, they actually hung out with each other often. After a couple weeks of becoming actual friends, the two had decided that once a week, they would have sleepovers in the ballroom of the castle. Sometimes, they would spend the evening giving each other make-overs (using the make-up Allura had given them) and other times, they simply talked and gossiped. Pidge was lying on her stomach and clutching her pillow as she talked. Despite Lance swinging his legs around in the air, she kept talking, knowing he was listening, or at least, mostly listening. “Sometimes I think that Keith's frown is permanent, and then he smiles or laughs which just looks creepy at this point.” Lance laughed and agreed. “I find it hilarious. Almost as funny as when Shiro gets talking about teamwork, and realizes how lame he sounds. He looks terrified of being the uncool old guy.” “Exactly!” Lance shared a look with Pidge and was glad he could make her laugh. Sometimes she got so stressed that Lance would go into “big brother mode”. She is 14, and shouldn't be so upset, never mind fighting a war. “So...” He starts. “So what?” The light-hearted laughter is gone, but the serious change in tone doesn't ruin the sleepover. “You wanna talk about your brother? That is part of the reason we did this tonight.” Pidge sighs and takes a deep breath. “It's just...I miss my family. I'm really worried about my dad and brother. What if I never find them? What if something happens to them? What if something happened to me? My mother was destroyed when my family went missing.” Pidge was sniffling and trying not to let tears fall. Lance slide over next to her to give her a hug. “Hey, hey. It's gonna be fine Pidge. I promise. We already have clues to where they might be, and those clues told us they were ok. I know it's scary but things are gonna work out just fine. You'll see.” “Yeah.” Pidge nodded slightly, but her act wasn't fooling Lance. He backed up to sit directly in front of her and stare at her with his eyebrow raised. “What?” She asked. Lance rolled his eyes. “Come on. I know I'm not the smartest but I'm not an idiot. I can tell there is something you aren't telling me.” Lance relaxed his posture and leaned back on his arms. “I thought this is how we work, Pidge. I listen and comfort you when you talk about your family, and you tease and joke around with me when I talk about my crush on Keith.” Lance said as he laughed and blushed a bit towards the end of his sentence. Pidge giggled along with him and when she gained her composure, her mood switched back to being serious. “It's just, I-...I'm terrified of losing the team. I lost one brother, and I don't wanna lose you guys too. You and Hunk and even Keith. Shiro acts more like my dad sometimes but still! Even Coran and Allura are like family to me.” Lance sat up and hugged Pidge tightly. “Aw, little Pidgey.” He said in “baby-talk” and immediately ruined the moment. “You actually like us! The wittle angry bird child cares about us. So smol, so sweet.” Pidge laughed and lightly pushed him away. “I hate you.” “No you don't! You love me!” Lance said and poked the green paladin in the ribs, which he soon realized was a mistake. Pidge began chasing Lance through the castle threatening to hide all his moisturizers and shampoos. When they ran to the bridge, they rest of the team was shocked at the sight before them. Pidge was screaming at Lance (which wasn't too out of the ordinary) but they were both laughing as well. Hunk didn't have time to prepare before Lance jumped on him to hide. “What the hell is going on with you guys?” Keith asked. “Having a sleepover!” Lance replied, trying to hold on to Hunk's shoulders. “Oooh, a sleepover? Can we join?” Hunk's face lit up at the thought of doing something other than sitting around. “Yeah, sure. Come on guys. And don't think I've forgotten about this Lance.” Pidge shot him a fake glare while gesturing to say 'I'm watching you'. “I'll pass.” Keith turned around and started to walk to his room but was stopped when Pidge grabbed his wrist and dragged him along. “What are we even gonna do?” Keith complained, acting as if he was annoyed. “Something fun.” Lance said before taking one of the many pillows they had brought and smacking Keith in the face with it. He laughed before chucking the pillow to Pidge. “Your turn Pidgeotto.” It was Keith's turn to laughed when he got to see Pidge smacking Lance relentlessly. He decided that he was content to just watch the attack but Shiro and Hunk had other ideas and grabbed their own fluffy weapons to attack Keith with. In no time, the team was forming alliances in the pillow fight and ganging up on each other. Allura and Coran watched the chaos from the top of the grand staircase, amused by the odd activity the paladins were participating in. The rest of the night consisted of games of truth or dare (Lance shot daggers at Pidge and Hunk when they got too close to talking about Lance's crush), Telephone and Stella Ella Ola (which Hunk and Lance had to explain to Allura, Coran and Keith). Lance was the last person to get tired (he'd complain later that Keith kept waking him up with his snoring). He turned look at the smallest paladin. Pidge was curled up on the floor and a pillar, trying to sleep comfortably. Lance smiled softly and gently picked her up along with her pillow to bring her back to her room. He often did this when they had sleepovers and he was the last one awake. If Pidge didn't sleep well, she would be grumpy and irritable the next day. When Lance put Pidge down on the her bed, she started to stir and open her eyes. Her eyes were tired and she was struggling to keep them open. Lance took off her glasses and set them down. He turned to head back to the rest of the group but paused in the doorway. Pidge was nearly asleep again. “Night Sis. See you in the morning.”

Voltron Fluff Week 2017:Day 6 - Shopping trip
Very rambly because I can’t fluff. Also, Colleen hijacked today's prompt.
Colleen Holt was on a mission.
The store had only just opened. 8 AM. It had taken her two hours to get here, but it was a long drive to the rendezvous point, and she had a lot of shopping to do.
She hadn't slept. It wasn't like she wasn't used to being tired, but today was going to bring it to a whole new level.
The boy had shown up last night, craving pardons and ensuring that he had reached the residence of the Holts. She was about to chase him off – too many nosy voyeurs of her grief, too many reporters needing the scoop from the widowed Holt – when he turned the pad in his hand toward her and her husband's face was staring back.
Her husband and her daughter. They were on an alien ship, orbiting earth, and trying to reach her because Sam was coming home. They were dropping him off during a diplomatic meeting with the Garrison and letting her know that A) he was still alive, and B) her life was about to get a whole lot more chaotic. The boy – Keith – explained more. Everything from the beginning.
The fate of the world was in the hands of a bunch of homesick children.
The first thing she had done after he left was to go to her daughter's room and pack. Her favorite clothes, socks, underwear. Two of her favorite books.
She tore through the house. Boardgames, blankets, the portable dvd player, movies, Matt's rubiks cube, Sam's metal puzzle rings. Somewhere she unearthed a stash of bath products; gifts from long ago, left unused. Samples. She needed to be here, for Sam, for Guther, but her baby girl, her friends, needed a little piece of home.
The aisles flashed by. Staples first: Rice, beans, sugar, flour. Cans and cans of fruits and vegetables. Powdered milk, yeast, bouillon. If it was dried and could last, her space babies needed it. Noodles, oodles and oodles of noodles in every shape and size. Spices. All the spices. Hunk needed spices.
And Lance! Thank the heavens this was a bulk store! Giant gallon jugs of hot sauce, jars and jars of Salsa. Spicy, Mild, it didn't matter. Hot peppers, as many varieties as she could find.
Snacks. Chips and candy and real fruits and vegetables and crackers. The employee's were creeping around corners, staring at her like she were crazy. She was crazy. Had been since news broke of the Kerberos mission. Had been since her daughter went missing. Crazy and held to the planet only by the needs of a dog, the only family she had had left.
Toiletries. Giant bottles of shampoo. Face masks. Skin cream. Boxes and boxes of bandaids in every shape and variety and they probably didn't need ones with pink cartoon kittens but Colleens brain had stopped being rational hours ago.
She checked out. Next store.
Clothing. Socks (crew, ankle, sports, black and white). Underwear (boxers, briefs, and all the varieties in between). Shirts and sweatpants and pajamas. They had left with nothing. She would give them everything. Even if she didn’t know their sizes.
Hardware store. Packs and packs of seeds. If she couldn't keep sending them fresh fruits and vegetables, maybe they could find a way to grow their own.
She stopped at the final store, the one she had driven all the way out here to go to. Shiro was there, he was alive. He needed his luck. Silly boy, did he really think they hadn't figured it out?
She stopped at home before heading to the rendezvous. Gunther, precious Gunther, needed to be let out for a bit. He couldn't be cooped up in the house all day. He'd never make it.
She took a nap. It was only for an hour, but she felt so much better after it. It took ages to pack everything into the car, and then she'd had to take Gunther. Poor thing was so confused by everything.
“Don't go where I can't reach you.” his pitiful eyes said. It was the one promise she'd been able to keep. So she rearranged the car until she was able to fit him in too, crammed into the front seat and practically hanging out the window.
Keith started when she arrived at the pitiful desert shack. He'd let her know he'd be there, but hadn't expected her to actually come. Or maybe it was Gunther, running to greet his new friend now that he was free of the car.
“You didn't need to do all this.” he protested softly. She did. It was something that was in her power to do. Of course she had to. Even he could see that she had to.
Hours later, once the entire team had returned to the castle and Sam was safe upon Earth again, they realized what Colleen had done.
Everyone had a box labeled just for them, a personal gift from a woman most of them had never met. She had grilled Keith about the team and he, thinking it was so she could better understand who her daughter was with, had answered as best as he could.
Lance's box was filled with beauty products. Bath gift sets, face masks, bottles and bottles of lotions and creams. A note. To always feel your best.
Hunk's had snacks, a few small cookbooks, a set of precision screwdrivers. Keep looking up.
Keith hadn't said much about himself, so Colleen had guessed more than she had with the others. A warm sweatshirt, more snacks (you couldn't go wrong with them), a pack of hair ties. A key had been taped to his note. Come by when you please. Gunther likes you.
Pidge's had been personal. A new book in the series she had been reading. Her favorite foods. A deck of cards. Come home safe.
Allura and Coran shared a box. It was filled with Earthling nonsense. Rubber ducks, various earth foods, an atlas. A set of earth clothes for each. A children's book about a mouse and cookies, because Keith mentioned the mice and that Allura was trying to learn to read English. I look forward to meeting you.
Shiro's entire box consisted of Kitkats. Nothing but the candy, in more flavors than the paladins had ever known existed.
“That's weird.” Pidge said.
“It's a Japanese thing.” Shiro explained, “KitKat sounds like the phrase for 'you will surely win'.”
“Everyone else got an inspirational note. Why is yours a word problem?”
Shiro,
If a Garrison hover bike gets 30 miles per gallon and the store is 50 miles away, how many times did Takashi Shirogane steal bike #394 to buy his KitKats during finals?
PS. We did the math.

Pillow Fight
Prompt: Fluff Week - Day 2 - Blanket forts/pillow fights Pairing: Keith/Allura
Note: I lied, in my list of what pairings/characters I’d be doing for this week, there is ONE non Allura one, BUT it’s still a rarepair (my favorite one i don’t talk about much), so yeah. This one is short too, but I like how it came out.
“I don’t see how me being here will help you sleep.”
Allura looked over at Keith, who was standing very close to the door, looking as if he’d bolt from the room as soon as he was given the chance. She resisted the urge to pout at him, but her eyes betrayed her - narrowing at him as she brought her knees up.
“Lance said that having someone with you helps keep the night terrors away.”
Keith seemed to soften a bit at that, but he still looked a little wary and unsure.
“Then why don’t you have him come here?”
Amusement filled her, making her snort. “Invite Lance to my bed chambers?”
Keith’s face flatlined and then he nodded. “Good point. But still, couldn’t you have Coran do this? Pidge? Hunk? Why me?”
Why him indeed. Allura bit into her bottom lip as Keith eyed her before he recrossed his arms, leaning against the wall. He wasn’t even looking at her now - and that… bothered her. She wasn’t sure when she started wanting Keith’s attentions. Possibly after their mutual sacrifice - running away together, thinking they were leading Zarkon right to them. But after that, things kept piling up and Allura wanted Keith’s attention more and more.
Keith, for his part, never seemed to get the hint.
Or perhaps he just wasn’t interested.
But, the minute she started to doubt his own interest, she would catch him eyeing her out of the corner of her own eyes - notice him noticing her. It would fuel her own desire to give him attention as well. She looked at him, amused when he looked away, eyes narrowing on the opposite wall - and perhaps some color rose in those pale cheeks of his.
Allura’s fingers dug into one of her pillows, a mischievous thought pumping through her. She knew one way to make him look at her, pay attention to her.
She tossed the pillow in her hand, hard.
The pillow slapped against Keith’s face with a soft ‘thud’ and fell to the ground. Keith blinked owlishly, looking down at the pillow and then over at Allura, whose lips were curved into a soft smirk. Keith’s own lips curled in a similar fashion as he grabbed the pillow, his dark eyes somehow appearing even darker now.
“You asked for it now.”
Allura squealed as Keith launched him at her, pillow in hand. She raised her other pillow, whapping against Keith’s weapon - pillows pounding against each other. Allura’s heart raced, Keith’s attention on her felt so good.
She knew this would work.
