Kit's Traybake Pancakes (chocolate chip var.)

Heyo! You may have seen my original pancake traybake (cinnamon apple var.) recipe! If you haven’t, come check it out here! If you have, check again, since I’ve made some crucial changes to the cook time/temp/optional prep after much experimentation!

Well, here’s:

Love eating pancakes but hate making them? This traybake pancake recipe may be for you! Making these gives me enough pancake squares for 6 days (5 if you eat two on the day you make them). They reheat well, can either be eaten with or without maple syrup, and are very customizable! I recommend adding something healthy like fruit or yogurt, and protein powder like I do in this recipe, making it a slightly healthier breakfast than just pure carbs.

Full disclosure, the base for this recipe was the mug pancake recipe from Emma’s Goodies, which you can watch here!

I made this mug pancake for years (except with tripled portions because I was using a very big mug) and it was super delicious! However, for just one mug pancake, it was a bit of a production and didn’t feel super worth it. Thusly, I have adapted the recipe to be made in a 13”x9” baking tray, which makes a whole lot of breakfast.

Base Ingredients:

12 tbsp. butter (I use salted, if you don’t have salted butter, add a very small amount of kosher salt to your recipe)

9 tbsp. (1/2 cup+ 1 tbsp) granulated sugar

12 fl.oz. milk (I use skim, use whatever kind you like)

3 cups all-purpose flour

3 tsp. baking powder

Customizable Ingredients:

1 scoop protein powder (I use vanilla flavored whey)

1/4 cup of brown sugar

1 cup (around 5oz) nonfat strawberry Greek yogurt (pick a good quality brand/one you like)

1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips (for the batter)

Small handful of semisweet chocolate chips (to sprinkle on top)

1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips, 1 tbsp of butter, ~2 capfuls of milk (for chocolate drizzle)

Base Instructions:

Heat oven to 375°F, take out a 13”x9” nonstick baking pan and spray bottom and sides with cooking spray (yes theoretically I know you don’t need to spray a nonstick pan but better safe than sorry).

Put butter in a bowl and melt it in the microwave. I recommend microwaving for 1m20s.

Put butter in a stand mixer, preferably with the paddle attachment. While you heat the milk in the microwave* (40 seconds, stir milk once it’s done; I use a glass liquid measuring cup for the microwaving), add the granulated sugar to the mixer. Once the milk is heated, add it and use one of the lower settings on your mixer.

(If you have customizable wet ingredients, add them now!)

Add the flour and baking powder, mix again on low setting until it forms a batter (a small amount of lumps is okay from what I’ve heard, you don’t want to overmix).

*You can’t put cold milk into hot butter, it will form little clumps and be gross

Customizable Instructions:

Add the brown sugar (as above, preferably before the flour, with the other wet ingredients. Wait, why is sugar a wet ingredient? see † at the bottom).

Add one scoop of your preferred protein powder, then mix on low setting until it’s mixed in.

Similarly, mix in the strawberry yogurt*. Now, I know what you’re saying: this is a very specific thing to add to the pancakes, but hear me out**: it gives moisture to the recipe (in this version, there’s not as much, cuz there’s no added tea/maple syrup, and there’s an additional dry ingredient), and it adds a subtle fruity flavor (also it makes your living space smell amazing while it’s cooking)! I may experiment with adding actual fresh strawberry to the recipe in the future.

Finally, put the cup of choco chips in and mix gently! My mixer head tends to bump around a little bit during this step so you may want to use that generally ignorable lever that keeps the mixer head secure.

*Unlike the brown sugar, you may want to mix the yogurt in after you add the dry ingredients. If you do it before, it won’t incorporate smoothly and end up in a bunch of gross looking lumps. It doesn’t actually affect anything though and once you add the dry ingredients, everything is fine. It’s more about if you’re a wet before dry purist vs. someone squicked out by lumps.

** It’s also the only thing I had on hand lmao

Chocolate Sauce (for ‘drizzling’) Instructions:

Put 1/2 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave with a tablespoon of butter. Melt for 45 seconds on high (according to the packaging on my choco chip bag). Mix the resulting glorp carefully (it’s hot!) with a rubber spatula then microwave for another 15-20 seconds until most/all of the chips have melted.

Mix again. It will look like a gross dry paste (but trust the process). Once you add in a capful of milk and mix—immediately you will have a glossy beautiful mixture. Then add an additional capful of milk (you may need to add more) to make it thin enough to ‘drizzle’!

Baking Instructions:

Pour batter into greased baking tray and use a spatula and spread it evenly by hand, as this batter is thicker and a little stiffer than my apple version. Optional: Sprinkle the top with that handful of chocolate chips—then if you made the chocolate sauce, take the spatula from before, scoop a little bit of chocolate sauce onto the tip of the spatula, and carefully* flick it over the surface of the batter! Really channel your inner Jackson Pollock! Do as much of this as you want until you have your ideal amount of chocolate drizzle on top (and if you have any left afterward, eat it as a tasty little snack. live deliciously lol).

When the oven reaches temperature (if you preheated it at the beginning, it may have already been at temperature for a while) put the pan in and cook for 35 mins. Know your oven and if it tends to be hotter or colder**, adjust cook time as necessary.

When the timer goes off, test the center in several places with a toothpick. As long as it doesn’t come out goopy, you’re good! (crumbs on the toothpick is fine) I say test in several places because if you accidentally go through a chocolate chip, your toothpick will come out wet and chocolatey, but that doesn’t mean the pancakes aren’t done. If it's not done, cook in intervals of 5 minutes, testing when the timer goes off.

Take pan out and use a butter knife or a pie serving spatula and poke around the edges of the pan to free the pancake traybake from the edges. Let cool for 10 minutes.

Cut into squares. I tend to cut 12 pieces, but you could go smaller or larger depending on how much you intend to eat at once.

*By making this recipe you agree to not hold me liable for any chocolate mess that may result from the flicking process (lol).

** How do I know if my oven runs hot or cold, you may ask? If any recipe you make comes out raw and/or takes longer to cook than the instructions say, your oven is colder! If your food ends up burnt and/or takes less time to cook than the recipe instructions say, your oven is hotter!

Enjoy! I eat two squares at a time and it makes a good breakfast! For storing, put however much of it you can eat in 2-3 days in the fridge. Store the rest in the freezer.

I will note, this version of the recipe doesn't form the same kind of cool thick edges like the apple version.

For any customizing other than what I did, use whatever fruit, spices, syrups, and/or protein powders you want! Just be aware that more fruit in the batter means it may take longer to cook!

†Yes, all sugars are considered wet ingredients. Yes, it is conceptually weird, but there is a reason: because they need to dissolve in liquid in order to be incorporated properly, you add them in with the wet ingredients. Went to a library over open hours, so i was gonna use my card (as usual) to open the doors. Apparently they have a new system where you use the city map, so they taped over the scanner so we coyldn't use our cards anymore.

it was way past midnight and you couldn’t sleep, all you had was some leftover sandwich from the fridge for dinner so what better way was there than to eat?

only one problem..

you had to sneak past heeseung in order to be able to do that.

sure he was sweet and would do anything for you, but heeseung wasn’t the type to let his guard down and let you out of his sight especially past midnight, he’d always make sure you fell asleep first before he could catch some sleep. and if you were hungry, he’d make something light for you so your stomach wouldn’t be rumbling all night.

but tonight was a little different, he came back home exhausted, immediately taking a shower and laid next to you resulting in him falling asleep before you which was something he never did

and right now you took the opportunity and slowly climbed out of bed while making sure heeseung doesn’t feel your absence next to him

you went downstairs and headed into the kitchen, taking a look inside the fridge you noticed there wasn’t really anything for you to eat which lead you looking through the cabinets and voila!

‘why does he have a lot of them in the cabinet here then?’ you thought to yourself

“dont do that to me again, you scared me” he lowly whispered in your ear as he hugged you even tighter, you could hear the fear in his voice

feeling bad you slowly pulled away and caressed his head and looked at your food

“im sorry.. i was really hungry but you looked really tired and exhausted before you slept so i didnt wanna wake you up” you looked down at your foot, feeling guilty that you made him feel scared

“i dont care how tired i look if you need anything just tell me okay? i’ll always be there no matter how exhausted i am and i need you to know that” you nodded as he cupped both of your cheeks before leaving a small peck on your forehead

“c’mere” you pulled him to the seat next you as you quickly got up to grab something, leaving the man confused

you came back to your seat as you handed him a pair of utensils and placed a glass of water on the table

“eat with me” you nudged the bowl slightly to his side, the man raising an eyebrow as a response

“you didnt eat anything today hee, its not like i can finish this anways, share with me okay?” you said as you gave him a soft smile

“if you dont share with me i’ll be really upset” you cut him off as you emphasised on the ‘really’, knowing he’d give in to you since you knew the last thing he wants is for you to be upset with him

and you were right. he spent too long waiting for you, now that he finally had you with him he wanted to treat you well and give you all he had. he was always listening to you, complying to your needs while always being cautious of course

but you didnt mind, although he was really overprotective he still made you feel loved and you felt safe with him and thats all that matters to you

“okay okay we’ll share” he let out a small giggle as he ruffled your hair and the both of you shared the bowl of ramen which was probably already soggy at this point

“baby of course not, what makes you think that?” he looked at you as he frowned

“i don’t know i just thought you’d be mad” you got up and took the dishes to go wash them but he stopped you

you hugged him from behind as you mumbled out a quiet ‘sorry’ , resting ur cheeks on his back

“it’s okay, you wanna cuddle on the couch?” he dried his hands and turned to look at you to which you nodded

the both of you sat on the couch cuddling, your head on his chest and him leaning on your head, one of his hand gently caressing your back

cuddling sessions on the couch were always nice and it wasn’t until a few weeks ago the both of you started doing it

“please don’t leave me y/n, i don’t know what i’d do without you” he softly whispered out of nowhere, but you know it was just him overthinking

“i’ll be here, always” you responded as he smiled and started humming lullabies, something he’d do to make you sleepy

you fiddled with his other hand, slowly falling asleep to the melody you were hearing

and soon enough you fell asleep, heeseung noticed and kissed your forehead, dozing off not long after.

Hey how do you do the color gradient thing for your dialog tags?

Assuming you mean these things, I've actually been meaning to make a guide of my own for a while lol.

For one, you can only do this on computer/the website of Tumblr! There's no option to select this stuff on the app.

STEP 1: CREATE A NEW DOC / GO TO SETTINGS

It opens a dropdown menu/whole screen full of options!

From there, select the "text editor" dropdown, which starts as displaying "rich text".

Select "HTML"

And it should change how the entire post looks!

STEP TWO: CHEAT

Yeeeeeaaaaah, so I use a website for this lol

I inserted my colors for faeries (#30853C) and Cloud (#6DC1B4) for my example of "these things" earlier. To make this easier, I most often have two windows open at a time while working on uploading my scripts to Tumblr.

To get colours to insert into the Text Colorizer website, you can use any kind of hex color picker or even this one website I've used to yoink "thematic" colors from photos!

Personally, I've developed a massive library of colors over time for this exact purpose lol. Using my old colors as a "base", I can change it accordingly to the kind of "new color" that I want for a specific character or thing!

(I'll use the website to also make gradients for "in-between" colors lol)

STEP 3: INSERT TEXT / DESIRED COLORS

To make Nova's gradient, I start with #A600D9, my color for Magic, and end with #F56745—their individual color. However, being as it's short, I'll use a quote from them instead lol.

Once you've inserted your text and colors, you will click in the text box I highlighted in red, ctrl+a and ctrl+c to copy it all, and go back over to your new tumblr post tab!

From there, you'll ctrl+v to paste the entirety into the HTML area, which pastes the code into your post!

AND VOILA!

You have gorgeous gradient text!

However, I want to give a fair warning and a bit of advice! If you didn't notice wayyyyyyy back when...

Tumblr warns that this all can break your formatting!

It doesn't do it too often, but take it from someone who does an obscene amount of formatting... it's 100% true.

STEP 4: CHEAT SOME MORE!

For this reason, I personally have a whole separate draft post full of my characters' colors (and names lol) that I use to copy-paste them in from rather than using the "html" text editor on every post!

I mentioned earlier I often have multiple windows open while editing? Here's what that looks like!

Additionally, I'll use a separate tab off on the left (my "current wip post" side) with the "html editor" enabled for me to copy-paste stuff!

(Also here's yet another example of how many colors I have)

Once again, you can ctrl+c these things to paste them into another tumblr post with the correct colors!

And it's ONLY possible to do on the website!!!

EXTRA INFO!

WARNING:

Tumblr will only allow each "paragraph's html to be so many characters long, so you can't have too big of anything in a gradient!

And by "anything"... I mean you really can't have that big of a gradient in general. RIP lol.

It straight-up won't save the post so long as you have that "overflow" in the character block! MAKE SURE YOU'VE FIXED IT, OR YOU CAN AND WILL LOSE ALL PROGRESS ON YOUR POST!

SINGLE-COLOR TIP:

You don't need the website for a single color! If you'd like, you can just change the "color code" within the html editor to change specific colors!

MAKE SURE COLORS CAN WORK ON DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS!

On desktop, you can use shift+p while not on any sort of textbox to change the color pallet! I always do tests to see which colors work best before settling on any!

(Tho, the blue background SPECIFICALLY is nightmarish to work around. So if that's the ONLY thing I can't make work, I often ignore it and let you guys who use it suffer lmao)

(Hopefully this'll give you guys some respect for me and how much I do to make my posts aesthetic af lol)

Technomancy 101

Hi, friends! I'm back with another witchy FAQ from the past couple weeks. This time from the world of tech magic!

Here are some quick TL;DR technomancy tips for those who may not want to read the long FAQs post beneath the cut:

1. Chest spells (like a jar spell but with a chest filled with in game items that match the intent)

2. Poppet spells using the game characters by giving them items or altering their names/appearances

3. Similar to a chest spell but not necessarily magic per se - using chests or sheds with in-game items as altars and/or offerings

4. Build a shrine / altar / temple with offerings, or leave an item such as a torch in the game world as an offering

5. Burn/bury/destroy ingredients to activate a spell with the desired effect

6. Write an affirmation or a spell on a sign or other in-game item and destroy it to activate as a sigil

7. Build a golem or animal pen or something as a servitor for protection

8. Use some form of sympathetic magic connecting in-game items to IRL items

9. Light sticks, flashlights, plastic lightsabers, and toy sonic screwdrivers make *awesome* wands, especially if they light up and make noise.

10. The possibilities are limited to your imagination!!

What is technomancy?: Technomancy, techno magic, and tech magic are all terms for a form of magic that utilizes common modern technology, such as smartphones and video games. Technically, “technomancy” could refer specifically to divination with technology; however, in my experience, the term usually has a broader meaning in common usage. I personally tend to use these terms interchangeably, with perhaps a slight preference for technomancy, since I learned that name first.

What are some forms of technomancy?: Common forms of technomancy include digital sigils, emoji spells, shufflemancy, video game spells, and video game altars.

How do I create a digital sigil?: The ways are about as unlimited as creating a physical sigil on paper. You can use a drawing app on a smartphone or tablet, find a digital sigil generator online, use a photo editor on a picture, or even add a string of charged letters to an email signature (just make sure they blend in!).

OK, and what's the deal with emoji spells?: Yes, this is an actual thing (though not a thing that I'm particularly experienced with). They're pretty straightforward. They can be done like a sigil - string emojis together and charge them. Or like an actual spell - put them together and send to cast, or like to charge and send/reblog to cast.

What kind of games can you use for technomancy?: Any of them. Minecraft is a very popular one. So is Stardew Valley. Skyrim and other RPGs are other common choices. As with other forms of magic, the only real limit is your imagination.

What kind of spells can you cast in a game?:

Chest spells - like digital jar spells - are very common.

Poppet spells are another common choice. In games that allow you to create a character, or in games where you can give items to an NPC, you can turn the character into a poppet of someone and give them an item to cast the spell. For example, if I wanted emotional strength, I could create a Skyrim character as a poppet for myself, and have the character drink a strength potion to cast a spell of strength for myself in the real world.

Burying or burning items in games like Minecraft can be done to cast spells that are similar to physical spells that require burning a paper, bay leaf, or other ingredient.

Enchanting! Use the enchanting function in a video game like Skyrim or Minecraft to enchant a physical object. For example, you might choose to connect a physical scarf to a shield in Skyrim, and when you enchant the in-game shield with a damage resistance effect, voila! You now have a fancy enchanted scarf to protect yourself from spiritual attacks.

Customize your avatar to your advantage! In games such as Sky: Children Of The Light, where you can accessorize your character, you can equip different items to cast a different spell on yourself. For example, you might use the Saluting Captain's staff as a cosmetic to cast a spell of protection on yourself, or you could use a particular cape as a spiritual veil.

For deity work & spirit work, consider creating a space in your game (e.g. a chest, shed, home, biome, character, etc.) dedicated to the entities you work with. For example, temples and altars in Minecraft are common. Devotional sheds and chests are popular in Stardew Valley. I’ve named some appropriate Pokemon after an entity or dedicated the critter to them. You can even place a torch or candle in the game world as an offering.

There are lots more out there, too! This list is a starting point, not a limitation. Use your imagination and swap ideas with others, too!

How exactly does all of this work?? How is it possible?!: OK, so the principle behind tech magic is that you're harnessing the energy of multiple sources.

First, the device itself (and if you're using something like a Switch, the cartridge or other physical media). Each of these items has its own materials - electricity, glass and metal, etc. And each of those materials has a magical property that you can use... Glass and metal come from the Earth and have their own correspondences, while electricity is pure energy in itself.

Second, you have the energy of symbolism, or as I like to think of it with a butchered sociology term, symbolic interactionism - i.e., the idea that we create our own reality (or our *perception* of reality) via symbols. In other words, the power of correspondences! A candle is still a candle whether it's physical or digital. Lapis lazuli has the same qualities in this world that it does in a pixelated version. And so forth. So when you use the correspondences in digital spell work, provided that you raise the energy, it can and does have real world consequences. Similar to doing magic in the astral as opposed to the physical world... you are making a conscious decision to connect a digital item to an effect either in the astral and/or physical worlds.

Finally, you're also harnessing the power of belief and the energy of attention, which is where the chaos magic concepts start to come in. The digital worlds are real because you believe they are and you pour parts of your energy and personality into them - and so do *millions* of other people, in many cases. All of that energy is sort of like a reservoir in these games and it's just waiting to be harvested for spell work!

So… This is another subset of chaos magic, then.: Pretty much, yes. I haven't seen it categorized as anything else yet, except for in those cases where technomancy is given its own category.

And what did you mean by “energy of symbolism” again?: Correspondences. Both traditional ones and your own. For example, obsidian corresponds with protection IRL. So if you were making a chest spell in Minecraft for protection, you'd want to consider adding an obsidian block to your spell. Some of this is also stuff that you can brainstorm on your own and explore! Like for example, in the Elder Scrolls series, there are several plants and items that don't exist IRL, such as the corkbulb root - but in the game, that item can be used to make a potion of healing, so for me, it has a healing correspondence. Also, if the game you’re playing has spells already, you can consider how to adapt those spells to affect the real world in a logical, realistic way! Many pop culture magicians have done a great job of turning Pokemon moves into real spells, for example. So feel free to play around (pun intended) and see what works best for you!

How come you only mentioned shufflemancy once in this whole entire post??: That, my friend, needs to be a post for a later date. I assure you, I absolutely can (and probably already have, and probably eventually will) write an entire post about shufflemancy.

How come your formatting is crap?: Because I wrote all of this on a smartphone and pieced it into a post with the mobile app. Bear with me. XD

Where do I learn more and fact check you, smarty-pants?: Tumblr. The answer is usually Tumblr for this kind of thing. Or sometimes Discord. Like pop culture magic, techno magic is simply very new. Some tags to search include tech magic, techno magic, technomancy, video game magic, etc.

Butcher thought it was his lucky day when he finally apprehended Logan Howlett, more commonly known by his supe alias the Wolverine.

For just one chance at capturing him, the Boys went over their plan nonstop. They needed to make it count. Butcher only had enough time in his life for one enemy to focus all of his attention on. He definitely didn't need another. From trial and error, Butcher learned that it was near impossible catching Logan if the red suited asshole Deadpool was anywhere nearby. The duo were as indestructible as cockroaches.

While nabbing Logan elated Butcher, the fact that he did it without asking for your help was the cherry on top. Neither of you had spoken since he found out you were sleeping with someone else. Honestly, both of you had been too busy anyway to interact let alone talk. You were going through your own life difficulties what with your maniacal supe brother. You'd discovered that Homelander was actually introducing Compound V to terrorists just so the U.S. government would allow supes in the military to counterattack these new "super villains". You and Annie were working hard to prevent Homelander's supremacy of the country though it felt like a lost cause many times. The new addition to the Seven, Stormfront, was putting a wrench in any plans of taking down your brother.

"Go' you now." Butcher sneers in triumph as he yanks on Logan's hair to pull his face upward. Logan snarls, eyes burning with hate that Butcher couldn't possibly comprehend. This was the guy that took you for granted after all. "Took us quite a long time to figure out what would take you down." His head gestures over to Frenchie who was holding that gun that had taken Wolverine down. The gun's chambers, unbeknownst to Logan, was filled with Carbonadium bullets.

Grinning at the detestation on Logan's face, Butcher slams his head down against the ground. If his bones weren't fused with one of the world's most indestructible alloys, Logan was certain his entire jaw would have shattered. Butcher didn't possess fancy powers. All he had was the indomitable human spirit and a fuck ton of hate in his veins.

His strength fleeing from him thanks to the bullets lodged inside of him, Logan can only growl at Hughie and Butcher who frisk his weakening form. Frenchie keeps the gun aimed at his head.

Stomach sinking when he feels Butcher fish out his cellphone from his back pocket has him actually finding the energy to try and kick up a fight. A bulky boot to his back kicks him down.

Butcher makes sure Logan can see him as he tauntingly holds Logan's phone in front of him. "You want this, ya? Wonduh what secrets you're hiding 'n here."

"FUCK YOU"

Ignoring the obscenities being snarled at him, Butcher closer examines the phone, tapping on the screen to see if the phone required a passcode. Unfortunately it did.

Dropping it into his pocket, Butcher hums "Lets get back to HQ, shall we? We've got a lot of work to do."

While Butcher and MM interrogate Wolverine in the cellar that served as a holding cell, Frenchie and Hughie got to work on unlocking Logan's phone.

Logan's passcode was, thankfully, a weak one so it didn't take long before Frenchie was allowed access.

"Voila!" He grins to himself and hands the phone to Hughie. "Now we can see all the dirt Le Carcajou has and who that annoying red fucker is." Frenchie held a particular grudge against Deadpool. He'd been shot by him a handful of times.

Not much was on his phone. Only the basic apps that were already preprogrammed into the phone. Contacts were limited to a 'Wilson' and 'Al'.

Going through Logan's phone, Hughie ultimately checks the photos app and nearly drops the phone onto the desk with wide eyes. "Oh god. Oh fuck."

"Petit Hughie?" Frenchie reaches across for the device but Hughie slams his hand on top of it.

"No. No, no, no." He's shaking his head. "Fuck. He's going to fucking kill him if he sees this, Frenchie."

"Well. . . oui? That's what Butcher does." He's confused.

"It won't be Butcher's usual supe killing." Running a hand across his face, Hughie heaves a stuttering breath. He brings up to Frenchie the fact that the affair you were having was with Logan himself.

Frenchie slews a string of profanity. "Le Carcajou? We should've known. He's totally her type. That explains why she hasn't been around to help us catch him either." Everything was coming together. "Butcher won't just kill him."

There would be an utter bloodbath. Now that the Wolverine was weakened, killing him was more feasible a vision.

Hughie nods in knowing and goes a shade paler. And once you found out that Logan was captured. . .

Busy freaking out about what to do, Frenchie takes a peek at the picture on the phone's screen and wolfishly grins. "I never knew she was such a naughty girl."

"Huh? Oh- Frenchie don't!"

"Sorry, Petit Hughie but when I see a work of art I must appreciate it."

"Okay, I'm gonna take the phone away from you now."

"What are you two on about?"

Neither breathes, Frenchie has hold of one end of the cellphone while Hughie has the other end. Unable to react fast enough, Butcher snatches the phone from them in seconds with a mumble about how they should have told him the moment they'd hacked into the phone.

He was not expecting to see your bare tits on the screen of the phone.

Knowing who the tits on the phone screen belonged to. Hughie and Frenchie silently back away, already feeling the heat of his wrath.

"What the fuck is this?" Butcher's ears are ringing and can't even hear whatever Hughie is stammering about.

This was the Wolverine's phone. Why the fuck were your tits on his phone?!

Across the plane of the screen, small cracks begin to emerge as Butcher's grip on the device tightens to a deadly grip, as if he was strangling someone. Imagining that the phone was Logan's neck.

Were you. . . Were you really fucking that guy this entire time?

How long had this been going on?

Did you start seeing him before or after the Boys officially started hunting him?

"Butcher. . ." Hughie's voice sounded far off though he knew it came from right next to him. "Your hand is bleeding. . ."

Spiderweb cracks scrawled across the phone's entire surface. Splinters of glass embedding themselves into his fingers.

Either way, the mother fucker was going to pay for it.

Fuck the mission.

Fuck trying to get any information from this guy.

"Wade- WADE please calm down." You shoot Annie an apologetic look before excusing yourself to take your call to a quieter location.

"They've got him! Those fuckers have our peanut!" Deadpool cries out on the other end of the line.

Lips parting about to inquire on who he meant when icy cold realization seizes your stomach. "Logan. . . No. . ."

"YES!! So if you can, please hurry that gorgeous ass of your's and save him!"

Almost hitting someone with the restroom door you hazardously ram open. Annie stares at you when you fast walk back to the table. Explaining what is going on and how you had to hurry back to headquarters.

"Thank god you're here!" Hughie's voice cracks as you push past him. You could hear the jarring sound of a fist colliding against solid flesh. Grunts of pain and the angry howls emanating from a god of wrath.

You rip the door that led to the Boys' makeshift holding cell/interrogation room to come across Logan covered in his own blood. Matted in thick clumps in his hair and sporting several gunshot wounds that weren't healing. Butcher has his back to you, his shoulders moving up and down as he gulps down ragged breaths.

Logan's own breathing was interrupted every couple of breaths as blood bubbled forth to dribble out from the corner of his mouth. Those dark eyes that you love so much instantly land on you.

"Butcher."

Even having the upper hand wasn't enough to ease the heavy stone that sat at the bottom of your stomach; weighing you down like an anchor.

Slowly he turns around. You'd seen this side of him so many times. Yes, a few times they were aimed at you. Those were the incidents when you battled with your own conflicting feelings toward your brother. Butcher was hell bent on putting an end to Homelander; nothing would change that. He would do it or very well die trying. Yet. . . You remembered your beloved big brother. The one who made you lunch to take to school. He'd been John to you back then. You idolized him and envied him. Vought's pride and joy despite Soldier Boy thinking him weak.

This was different though.

The pain that hardened his gaze was palpable. "This who you been fucking?"

Readying your stance to zoom, you try to keep the panic from your tone. If Butcher heard how much you actually cared for Logan, it would enrage him even more. Logan was more than just sex to you now. "I can explain."

"I bet you can." A dark chuckle is exhaled. "You two been fucking this entire time? Laughing behind my back. I should have known. You'll always be more loyal to your own kind."

"Don't be like that Butcher." You hiss. "Don't you dare lump me into your supe-hating bullshit. That's not what this is. He wasn't on our radar when I met him."

That gives Butcher a reason to pause. "So, you were fucking him the same time when we were still-"

"There was no 'we'." You adamantly point out and accompanied by and exhausted sigh, your stance wavers. "You and I, it was just sex. You made that perfectly clear. After all, I could never measure up to Becca. I can't let you kill him."

To add an emphasis on that declaration, your eyes sizzle red in warning.

His scowl deepens, a snarl curling his lip. "That's how it's gonna be?"

"Just step aside, Billy. Please."

The pleading in your irritates him. You liked this fucker enough to put your pride aside and beg Butcher to release Logan.

"You willin' to kill me over him?"

Fear wasn't something you were necessarily accustomed to. Standing there, you weren't sure of what to do. You couldn't kill Butcher. Yet you couldn't let Butcher kill Logan. The heat in your eyes simmers down.

You couldn't.

"I don't have to kill you."

Swatting him away with a flick of your wrist as you charge toward him, Butcher flies into the side wall. Clearing the way for you to get to Logan.

When you feel the rain-like barrage of bullets against your back, you rip Logan free of his confines. You're not A-Train level fast, but compared to Butcher and the others, your movement was quicker. Pure instinct drives you to bulldoze your way through walls, all while protecting a battered Logan. Blood rushing through your ears made you deaf to what Logan was trying to cough out.

You couldn't stop. You had to keep focus until you were far away and safe enough to check his injuries.

Wind whips your face.

You had to save Logan.

You couldn't let him die.

Suddenly a warm hand to your cheek has you stopping midflight; halting to a hover.

"Can you at least carry me so I don't look like a damn damsel in distress."

In your arms you carried Logan in a bridal style fashion. He was huge compared to you. With your super strength he feels no heavier than an infant.

Registering his position, you also take in the multitudes of bulletholes that litter his torso area. They were still bleeding freely.

One safe landing later (and a quick text to Wade) and you're turning Logan over to examine him. "What did they shoot you with?"

He grunts when you dab a piece of your shirt on a particularly juicy wound. "Not many things that can get me like this."

"I'm gonna have to cauterize some of these until Wade gets here." You warn him. Small hand splayed against his chest you catch his eyes on you. He places his larger one over it, pressing your hand so you could feel his heartbeat.

"M'fine." He tells you, ignoring the thick line of dried blood that ran down from the corner of his mouth. Logan looked like literal hell. Sweat and grime coating his face but his smile was still heart warming. "Just stop talking for a second and let me hold you, yeah?"

Unexpected moments of Logan's softness rendered you speechless. He uses this as an advantage and gathers you up in his bloodied arms.

You close your eyes and relish in his nearness.

"Also wanted to tell you that those guys may have seen your nudes on my phone."

"Are you serious?!" You shriek and push him away. Logan coughs out a laugh, avoiding your faux slaps.

hello ! i'll try my best to explain how to do it.

first, i go to this website ! (click on this to open the website)

second, i input the text i want to be coloured with a gradient.

next, i change the colour effect from horizontal gradient to three-coloured gradient. this gives you room to select three colour hex codes you want your text to be coloured with.

this step is completely optional ! you can make your text bold or italic and you can change the font and the size of the text. i personally do not change anything for my text.

you're almost done ! you will get to see the preview of your text show up on the screen so you can see how it looks after getting the gradient. make sure to copy the entire html code. for reference, it is the second code type on the website. i have provided the screenshot below.

next, open tumblr and select the post you would like to edit. click on the 'gear' option and change the the text editor from rich text to html. this step is very crucial or else your post won't have the coloured text! i have provided screenshots below for where these options are located on the website. i am not aware on how to do it on the app so i use the website instead.

last step ! you paste the html code from your clipboard onto the html code you see on the screen. to make it easier to distinguish where to put it, i usually put a full stop so i know where i'm putting the text so that it does not appear between images. after clicking 'done', you may see the post has the images being stacked one on top another instead of next to each other. it is easy to fix this problem by rearranging the pictures to how it was before.

and voila ! now you have a post with the faded text. i hope this helped !

I've now posted my second weekly QL recap post and I'm honestly just really proud of myself. Not just that I've stuck to doing it but also that I've managed to make it something I might actually be able to keep doing because I've made it as easy as possible for myself. That way it's less likely that it'll start feeling like a chore or that it'll take up a lot of my time when I'd rather be talking about the shows than formatting a post.

So because I'm a nerd and I kinda wanna show off a little bit because I'm proud of what I've managed to make, let me tell you exactly what I've set up to make my weekly recap post.

The basis for the post is simple enough: an excel spreadsheet and a python script.

My Spreadsheet of BLs

The spreadsheet is based on My Watchlist on MyDramaList which I literally just do ctrl+A and copypaste into a sheet. This is then automatically compiled into a different sheet where I've made a better overview of all the shows I'm watching and have watched in the past.

Based on this I've set up the weekly overview in a separate sheet shown below

When I'm compiling my weekly recap I can then easily add any new information here.

For new shows I add the information below to the sheet

- MD Title (copied from MyDramaList overview sheet)

- Title (usually copy of MD title with minor edits)

- Site I'm watching the show on

- Tags I want to use for the show

- Episode nr. I'm starting the show on

I also make a banner for the show but I've found a good source for images so it doesn't take long most of the time.

I have to manually upload the banner for the first week but then for the second week a show is in the recap, I can add the HTML for the banner from the previous week's post to the sheet. That way the banner will just be automatically be added to the post every week after that.

Throughout the week I then write notes on each episode I watch into the sheet and before I make the actual post I add the order I want the shows to appear in on the post.

The Script is Where the Magic Happens

When I've finished filling out the spreadsheet for the week I go to my python script, change the week number in the script and run the script.

In the script I've taken the HTML code from my original recap post and set it up so the script fills the information from my spreadsheet for each show into the right places in the HTML code. Since I doubt you guys would find it riveting to look at my full script, here's a little snippet!

When I run the script it then prints out the HTML for the post which I can insert into a new post on tumblr and voila, a weekly recap!!!

I do then have to go through the text for each show and add breaks and spellcheck because that's easier to do here than in the excel cell where I write the notes to begin with. If I have any overall notes or any new banners I have to add, then this is also when I'd do it.

I'm sure there are things you could set up in a better way but this works for me and reduces the amount of time I have to set aside every week for creating the post by a lot. It just makes it easier for me to share my thoughts in a way that's nice to look at without having to spend a ton of time formatting a post each week.

Hope this didn't take away any of the magic behind my posts but just gave a cool insight into the things you can do to make recurring posts easier to make.

thinking about re2r ! leon who constantly provides you with a lunch before clearing off to work. he thinks its the one, amassable way he could ever amount to the love you’d shed on him — it’s a simple routine to fall into. he’d wake up around the early morning hours, gently peppering your forehead with light kisses before hesitantly peeling his body from yours. then, he’d spend most of the next few successive hours threading a delicious yet cute lunch for you. tomato soup, using cream to make a cat face on the vermillion surface? already packed away. a sandwich with cute hearts decorating the brown of the bread? he’s already prepared two. always making sure you’re well and sewed-up with your lunches for the ongoing day!

i think he’d also love his fair share of physical contact. it would begin in the early stages of dating, when he’d catch you coiled in your seat during the dilatory hours of the evening. you should have been in bed now, instead you’re effecting your incredibly important report, eyes cumbrous with sleep and your body slumped against the hard-wood bench. awkward and tense. so leon walks over, with his hands coasting your collar bones / shoulders / temple / forehead and softly palming it, effectively melting all the stagnant stress like water with a sigh. other times, he loves to cuddle you close — full-blown plastered against him like another layer of skin, limbs tangled with each-other to the point of not knowing where you start and where he ends, hands spun on your neck / thigh to gently massage the area when he feels himself maunder into a bottomless sleep with you corralled in his arms.

he acts like an old man and i will die undefeated on this hill — whenever he picks up from a particularly good nap, he always makes that deep, scratchy sound at the back of his throat, even stretches his limbs as far as they can go and then proceeds to whinge in pain from the pull of his muscles for added effect. squints when you hold up the phone to him, holds it away from his face. he also periodically sends you pictures of cute animals with some overly intent caption like “i’m feeling fabulous today and so should you :)” or something so embarrassingly cute in the most leon way because he thinks they’re the funniest thing in the world. ALSO an adamant advocate for instagram reels I JUST KNOW IT he chuckles loudly and ends up on them for hours.

re2r ! leon definitely got emotional / teared up / cried when you did anything to show him affection. for instance, you’d tell him you made him a playlist and this man ended up listening to it on repeat in bed, woke up with tears on his pillow. he’d also get overly excited when you remember some obscure detail about him that he revealed half-drunk in some bar over clamorous music. maybe he told you how he had a phase where he just listened to linkin park on repeat or how much he loves a certain brand of pasta — when you bring it up, he’s feverishly rubbing his hands against his jeans, eyes swallowed by a want he doesn’t even know is there, nattering again and again the words “wait, you caught that?” with a dopey, fresh grin on his face.

he’s pretty constant about his hair — his barber’s have basically memorised his preferred style / length whenever he visits them. he prefers to get them cut when a gruelling mission nearly cost him his life because he couldn’t reload in time, due to the strands assaulting his eyes. or maybe the summer made him realise its time to nominate a shorter cut. but he gets so psyched whenever you get your hair cut / done. whatever hairstyle / length, cut short in a pixie or a layered look or some goddess locs / knotless, he’s always in awe of you. he discerns your maintenance pattern and gets involved sometimes, maybe lathering oil on your roots when you’re too beat for it, or maybe he massages your head in that upwards, firm motion that has you out in seconds.

if the words “distance makes the heard fonder” ever applies, its to leon! it doesn’t even have to be that great a distance — once he’d worked on a particular operation (a few ways off) that required him to be away from home for merely a week and he’d returned, hunched in your doorway, eyes drooping at not having his human battery there. he always grasps you tight, in a hug so suffocating, to know you’re here, safe, in his arms. other times, after the outbreak, he would be required to be away one too many times for comfort. the d.s.o. was incredibly demanding, so he’d be all the more clingy when he returned, telling you just how much he hates this stupid job and how much he hates the feeling of not being near you. maybe sometimes, when he’s away for god knows how long, he video calls you out of fear of never seeing you again. he’d be instantly relieved by your familiar face lighting up the screen, exclaiming his name in that familiar tone. maybe sometimes, when he’s too spent, he’d feel himself falling for worse desires, palming himself through his pants at the sound of your voice if you’d tease him long enough, liquid and canorous voice emitting from his phone as he pathetically whines at your muffled praises. his eyes nearly fall out when he catches your fingers pressing firmly against your clothed heat, clit pressing against the fabric, wanton moans making it hard to stymie his release. its an unspoken, mutual agreement that the first day back is going to be a wordless detour to the bedroom.

amused when you take an interest in his weapons / holster / work place materials. although he loathes his job and would never give a green light for you to get caught up in this obstructive mess, he does enjoy the feeling of teaching you the bare basics of, for instance, self defence or maybe the correct compartments of a gun. he loves your concentration face, the way your tongue pokes the inside of your cheek or slips out in a “:P” when you’re poking around the metal build of his shot gun or feeling the rough material of his age old holster with such thought. i’m not sure where the thought came from, but if you ever mention wanting to build something (an extra shelf or a nook for clothes) leon operates in the sneakiest ways — when you’re at work, at a friend’s or simply out for long enough for him to attain the request at command. definitely does it without a manual and loves watching you exclaim in surprise when you get back, burying his nose into the crook of your neck, glad he could give you this crack of elation after everything you’ve done for him.

loves buying you gifts when he stops around a store — a plushie, that head scratcher you really reallllyy wanted, maybe even lingerie and cute costumes ;) once, you surprised him by getting a cowboy lingerie piece and this man barrelled into you and onto the bed. he’d been breathless, rubbing circles into your hips as your squirmed, not giving you the swell of pleasure you begged for — “think you can get away with this, huh? teasing me like that. come here,” and the words would die on his tongue as he shifted the skimpy under-piece and licked a long line across your throbbing heat, holding back a laugh when you’d twitch and hitter in his clutches. staying true to the word, you had asked him if you could ride him and he almost flew to the heavens, cooing “of course you can, sweetheart,” amassing the flesh of your bottom in his hands as you fervently rode him, sickly enjoying the way you whined and keened from the way he was brimming you. slotted into one another, breaths locking as one. needless to say, he definitely buys you more outfits which you always remember to accoutre yourself with to show your gratitude :)

The whole margin issue I was having was driving me a bit batty, so I resolved to try and figure it out. After all, it's a full inch difference out of a mere 8.5inch space to get the margin to .5inch from standard.

Spent adjusting, printing, adjusting again, and printing some more. I went through dozens of booklet samples, and cross referencing different print methods, size of PDFs, reformatting the export doc, marking down size and differences between each version--

And finally, finally... I didn't figure it out, but got a work around.

I (apparently wastefully) bought BookletCreator, and thus had been using that product. For some reason, they will not export to 8.5x11 without adding to the top/bottom border. If they produce to (their default) 11x17, when you print, it'll add top/bottom margin. Fuck if I can figure out why.

So I used the old version of bookbinder.js, as the new version prints out of order for me for some reason. I uploaded my tester file, and voila! Margins that match what you have in the original PDF. Bookbinder.js is a free service, so fuck me for buying the other one, I guess.

Now I just have one final boss to fight for the typeset. Printing via Adobe, or via Brother's iPrint&Scan App.

With Adobe, it's clear, crisp lines. However, it's fainer than I'd like, and makes reading a bit of a pain.

With Brother's, it's more bold so easier to read, buuuut the font is visibly grainy.

Ugh, why.

Anyway, I made a image for my draft book, The Perfect Match. I sent it to the company I plan to use for the other HTV print, to see if the image came out as I intended. If not, well, I have a friend who has a HTV machine thing, but has never used it and said she'd lend it to me. Sweet, in case the order drops off.

The book is a gold/green, so the black should look nice on it.

I also went back and updated the Lionheart drafts, both for the clarified Vol. II and Vol. III thing with the yellow/blue cover, and for the images. If I had the images without a background, than I'd both save money for printing and ensure the company doesn't do anything weird as I'm certain its some sketchy company pretending to be a US based one.

I changed out the cup from what @greenerteacups had on her original, as it was a grey colored item and not a sketch that could have its "background" removed. As I might HTV these myself, I may change the color additions on the Yellow volume back to black. Depends on the tester.

Next on the chopping block is getting the balls to actually hit print. I'm still waiting on the leather to arrive to wrap the books, but that delay doesn't prevent me from starting on the booklet. I also want to figure out any spacing I want with blank pages using some free online program, as I don't have a PDF editor so can just add pages before making the booklets. But that's a weak excuse, really; I just am concerned I'll miss something during printing and I'll notice it when its too late.

How I draw: Silver Metallic Buttons for Sims 2 Textures

As we all know, Sims 2 doesn't really appreciate large file sizes/dimensions for it's textures, so sometimes you have work very closely with the individual pixels. Here is how I draw buttons. Video is sped up so don't feel like you need to draw as fast as me!

Side note: this tutorial is created on the basis that you already know how to use the basic functions of Sims BodyShop to extract the texture file. There's plenty of tutorials out there explaining that so please don't ask me to clarify on that part. Anyway, on to the buttons...↓↓↓

What you need:

A PC

Digital Drawing app (like Photoshop, Krita etc)

A Graphics Tablet with pen - you could try this with a mouse but I wouldn't recommend!

And obviously Sims 2/Sims 2 BodyShop

First off, create a new layer - we don't want this button permanently stuck to our base texture. Then I get a standard hard edge brush (I use Krita as my drawing software, so just use whatever hard brush is available in your preferred software/app). Because I'm making relatively small buttons, I make my brush 7.09px in size. Select a mid to light grey colour as the base. Make a single circle.

Then decrease the brush size to be nice and small. As a comparison to my 7.09px circle, I decrease to 0.01px for this next step. Choose a slightly darker grey colour and lightly sketch in a 'semi-circular line' about 3/4 of the way around just in from the edge of the circle. By lightly sketching - and not pressing down hard, you'll get varying tones on each pixel to represent different reflections on the 'metal'.

Next choose a darker grey again, and lightly sketch around the similar area as the last colour, but don't be too fussy on hitting the same pixels - we want varying tonal values for our shadows.

Then choose white and lightly sketch the 'catch light' part of the button. This doesn't need to be right in the centre, in fact it's better if it's off to the side, or towards the top more. We're not always facing directly towards a light source so this creates a more realistic lighting effect. You'll see me select the same mid to light base grey I used just to lightly dust over the edges of the white area to soften it a tiny bit (only do this if your white edge is a little to crisp).

After that I go back and forth between a few different tones of grey to lightly sketch over the parts we haven't really drawn on yet. This just helps create some gradual shading that enhances the 'roundness' of our very flat, very 2D button texture.

Once you're happy with the shadowing (remember it looks somewhat janky this close up, but you can always zoom out to see if the button looks more smooth when further away), you can then make another layer, and drag it below your newly made button layer in the layer menu. Select a soft edge brush and increase the size to slightly wider than your buttons overall size (I chose 9.14px compared to my 7.09px button)

Choose black from the colour wheel/palette and lightly build up the shadow underneath the button, gradually increasing size and opacity until desired tone. If the colour of the 'garment' in this texture is light then keep the shadow to a minimum, if it's dark then the shadow needs to be deep enough to show up.

Zoom out and inspect how this button looks further out. If you're satisfied, then merge the button and shadow layers together, copy/paste it as many times as needed for the garment you're texturing and Voila! You made buttons for a Sims 2 Texture!!

I made this edit to convince my friend to watch Doctor Who. Do think it's going to work!!!!!!!
