1994. amelia voght is one my favorite characters. Under appreciated. Under utilized. Under valued. Under written. There is so much there.

It's very clear that even X-Men are tired of playing "the good guys" when the only thing mutants ever get in exchange for their hard work to make the world better place for all humans and mutants, is pain and death over and over and over again. In this scene Hank is positioned as one in the right and the reported as one in the wrong. Because what mutants need right now is not playing the game of house and trying their best to convince the world that they deserve to live too, but a revolution that will overthrow the status quo and pave a new path.

This is why Hank quoted MLK. Because they're unheard no matter how much they scream. The only thing they want is to live in peace and even asking that is too much for the world. Trying to go around humans on eggshells all the time, trying to not scare them more is what seems a sensible thing to do, but in reality it's what hurst the mutant cause the most. When the system is designed to never take you on seriously, no matter how much effort you put, then the only thing you can do is to destroy that system and build a better one.

For King had never meant nonviolent protest to mean “wait and see.” In fact, he made very clear that rebellions have their place in America. Just a few weeks before he died, in a packed high school gym just outside Detroit, constantly interrupted by a rowdy right-wing crowd picketing his appearance, King had these radical words to say: “…it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear?…It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. If mutants keep being scared to push harder for the change, because they are aware of the human fear, then that change will never happen. Sometimes you need to topple the tower to build something stable.

Stippvisite Hamburg II: im Jenischpark

Unweit der Elbe erstreckt sich das Naturschutzgebiet Flottbektal. Der Jenischpark mit seinem großen Baumbestand und seinen weitläufigen grünen Feuchtwiesen ist ein Teil davon. Er liegt in Hamburg-Othmarschen am Geesthang über der Elbe bei Teufelsbrück. Mit dem Jenisch-Haus, dem Ernst-Barlach-Haus und dem Eduard Bargheer-Museum liegen drei Museen direkt im Park. Wahrzeichen des Parks ist das weiß…

First, we see that Cortez is still alive and that Voght is able to use her powers ti pop him out of where he is being kept and bring him back to the Acolytes.

Haven't taken too many pics of him, but here is a vampire priest for the spooky season, Pelham Voght. . Truly my beloved. . He's an older vampire that has taken in many single homeless sims with children and babies (damn my stupid save's townie population), some have stayed and "joined the family" and others moved on to live happy-not-so-bitey lives. . A "father" to many and "master" to some if you will lol XD.

← ONCE THERE WAS AN IDEA TO BRING TOGETHER →

After working with both Charles and Erik independently, being a part of Krakoa is a refreshing change. Amelia serves on S.W.O.R.D. as one of the teleporters; working as one of six members is different than being an Acolyte, but that’s not a bad thing. The time for groups like that have come and gone. The Dawn of X is here and Amelia knows who she needs to be and what she needs to do in order to secure her place in it. She’s always been adaptable, and that hasn’t changed.

✗ CHARLES XAVIER (616) and Amelia go way back to the days when they were both wide eyed and trying to figure out what it meant to be a mutant in a constantly changing world. Even though they were intimately acquainted in the past, some of Charles’ actions drove Amelia away. Despite that, they’re in a fine place now. He extended an offer for her to join Krakoa and she took it. There’s no reason they can’t enjoy the world they’ve both fought so hard to see.

✗ ERIK LEHNSHERR (616) ended up with Amelia after she and Charles parted ways. Even though she was a devoted Acolyte, Amelia still tried to limit casualties. They got to a place where she attempted to quit multiple times before Amelia was offered a spot on Genosha. That failed spectacularly, but Amelia at least got out with her life. She and Erik were on fine terms prior to his death.

✗ S.W.O.R.D. (616) – Amelia is good at being a part of a team. S.W.O.R.D. isn’t anything special compared to what she’s done, but it’s a good gig and they’re doing something worthwhile. She knows that it won’t be where she stays forever. Krakoa is changing just as fast as the world is. It’s just where she needs to be right now.
