#vln the scarf girl

I am going to speak more about the mysterious scarf doll girl, from the mobile video game. VLN. The girl that doesn't get talked about very much.

In the beginning of the game, in the prison segment. There is this other mysterious girl, inside the cage.

(She) Runs away and doesn't seem to acknowledge you at all. When you unlock the door for her, she pushes you out of the way. Which I think I have a theory to speculate those behaviors.

Then, she runs down the railway trolly section, where you spot the vent. At the far end of the room, past the wooden door, her belongings have been scattered around the vent. There is the red scarf, hanging out of the vent.

It is assumed that it those clothes, belongs to the girl. This speculation, is confusing. Because, there's more Information.

The question is, is that did she climb down with the scarf? Or did she fall down?

There is no way, that a scarf will be that long, to successfully climb down the vent, without using the rest of it's length. And. it's obvious, there is no weight, to support it.

I don't think the girl, landed safely. There is also a green hat, beside the door. That I think gives more direction towards other mysterious kids like this girl.

Possibly a boy child. Then later on in the upper floor, 3rd last chapter at the dining table. You'll see the same scarf girl sitting on the right end, of the table.

Being placed in the two rows of the other doll kids. This time, she's not moving. And she's frozen in place.

And in the second last chapter, you see her for the final time, being dragged along by the Pretender, and the Pretender, or princess. Growling at her, for whatever reason.

Maybe, the doll looks like someone she knew? The doll girl, does look like a spitting image of Six. Though, there's no correlation between her connection with the doll, and Six.

With that, remains a mystery. About the girl, and her behaviours, I say that (She) was put under a spell. If she has any awareness, closely.

And how sentient she is. Even if she is a doll in the first place. It looks like so far, that she does have intelligence.

With her behaviours, I think the scarf girl is exaggerating them. And I don't think, she's meant to have sympathic feelings given to her, and maybe that's why she came off as brash at the beginning.

And after that, you don't see her...At all. A pushed down character, that is rarely seen. And also, now that I think about the comics.

:Further theories.

Since the Podcast. About the Ferryman, so it turns out that he has shapeshifting powers? As it turns out. I read that on the wiki. And it did say that. So, I wanted to include that.

Is it possible, that the Ferryman was pretending to be that girl? That is an important piece to use, because of how intelligent this kid was. All the other dolls weren't alive, except for this one.

Which means, that those behaviours and activity being portrayed by the girls actions, is being performed by somebody, who is also Intelligent, and clever. That person being, is the Ferryman.

And yeah, those are my thoughts that I came up with about the scarf girl.

I don't have headcanons for a few characters so I'll update eventually (& make a master post)

The Pretender: 12 years old, White hair, Green eyes, She/her,(?)🇬🇧/🇯🇵(?), Powers: Evaporate an entity w/ her touch, ear piercing scream. She has a lot of old time radios around the nest so she can hear the transmission tower, how else do you expect her to hear her father's voice? She is another child of the thin man & the lady and an older sister to Torch (The Flashlight Girl). She is made of porcelain but can still grow. The pretender was sent to the nest as a way to keep her safe from the residents of the maw. She was also planned to take over the Maw of something were to happen to the Lady.

Scarf: 8 years old, black hair, brown eyes, they/them, 🇷🇺.

Wisp (The refugee boy): 11 years old, black hair, brown eyes, he/him, 🇫🇷.

Wish (The refugee boy's sister): 5 years old, black hair, brown eyes, she/her, 🇫🇷.

These two were born & raised in the Nowhere. They lived in a village that used charms against the North wind.

Bright: 10 years old, brown hair, blue glowing eyes, She/her, 🇺🇲, Powers: ((unspecified? need to read the comics again))

Light: 10 years old, brown hair, blue/brown eyes, it/it's, 🇺🇲.

Nimble: 11 years old, blonde hair, green eyes, she/her, 🇮🇸.

Quick: 7 years old, brown hair, blue/brown eyes, he/him, 🇮🇸.

Nimble is only in the Nowhere while attempting to save Quick from being taken by a monster (Maybe the ferryman or Other). Quick is very shy & stays with his sister whenever possible. The two are in the Maw after hearing it was the safest place in the Nowhere so where else would they go?

Rain: 11 years old, brown hair, brown eyes, she/her, 🇺🇲/🇦🇷. She's friends with the pretender

Meanwhile, all the adults are doing adult things...like drinking...and taxes...

All the Kids Play Date Day

It's pretty common knowledge that the Four Protags hang out regularly. So, when the other kids found out, they began to riot

I mean...good for them, BUT HOW COME WE CAN'T HANG OUT WITH OUR FRIENDS!?

After much whining and pleading (and maybe some bribing), all the kids were dropped off near the Tower in Pale City

Two reasons for this:

One, ever since the Sleepover at the Nest, the Butler just straight up wasn't having a swarm of rude brats at the mansion

It was a similar reasoning from the Lady at the Maw. She just didn't want to deal with all the children

Two, since the Thin Man does such a good job last time, he can handle everyone

the Thin Man: But...wait- the Butler and the Lady: -dropping off the kids- Have fun~!

Now, the old man is used to handling four little rascals...not 21. He was practically watching a class and he had a lot of work to do, so...

The deal was that the children could play as much as they want, as long as they stay within the city's limits, near the Tower, and NOT get into too much trouble

It was a weird agreement, but nobody saw a reason to object. Mono convinced them to stay away from the Wilderness and the Hospital, and nobody was interesting in checking out the school

That left the rest of the city to explore, which everyone was excited to see. Most of them have heard of Pale City and wanted to see the dilapidated building and sucked-in face people

But, since everyone knew the city could be dangerous, they decided to split into small groups for safety. The groups went as such:

Team 1 (“Team MCs”): Six, the Runaway Kid, Mono Team 2 (“Team the Girls”): the Raincoat Girl, the Pretender, the Long Haired Girl Team 3 (“Team Supernatural”) : the Mummy Kid, the Ghost Kid, the Toddler Team 4 (“Team Mischief Makers”) : the Tall Boy, the Forked Kid, the Strong Boy, the Humpback Girl Team 5 (“Team Green”) : the Green Boy, the Scarf Kid, the Refugee Boy and his Sister Team 6 (“Team Items”) : the Spoon Girl, the Lollipop Kid, the Bread Boy, the Flash Light Girl

Everyone went off in their own direction, but agreed to come back in two hours or if something really bad happens

Team Supernatural went to a nearby park and had a good time playing on the swing set and slides. But, when they got the feeling that they were being watched, they all headed back to the Tower

Team Items were hungry and went to a nearby bakery. Nobody had money, so they stole a bunch of muffins and doughnuts. It almost worked until the Lollipop Kid accidentally dropped the cookie package and drew attention. They ran away back to the Tower early

The Girls wanted to go shopping, or at least look at city fashion. They didn’t have money either, but it didn’t matter. The Pretender deemed everything in the windows to be trash, and got into a slap fight with the Long Haired Girl over some shoes. The Raincoat Girl ended up dragging them both back before they got thrown out

Team Green didn’t know where they wanted to go and ended up strolling around. They stopped to look at a group of Viewers and squeezed their way towards the tv, too. They made it to the front, but the Viewers didn’t like it and chased them back towards the Tower

Team Mischief Makers lived up to their name and played tricks on whoever they found. This ranged from stealing wallets to throwing mudballs at peoples’ heads. The only reason they stopped early was because one of the Tower Eyes appeared on a tv and scared Humpback Girl. Strong Boy punched the screen and the kids decided to head back, since she was experiencing a panic attack

As for Team MCs, they kind of stayed near the Tower. Runaway Kid really wanted to explore the Tower more than the city, but Mono didn’t want to bother the Thin Man at work.

By the time the trio tried to figure out something to do, the rest of the kids came back, either crying or screaming

Six: What the hell happened to you guys?

Everyone: -shouting all at once-

Mono: Um...

There was so much loud talking that the Thin Man opened the doors and appeared annoyed and confused. When he asked what happened, he got the same response

the Thin Man: Guys...I really need to get this edit done by Friday. One at a time...

That sort of worked, but from what he understood, everyone did the exact opposite of what he asked...which was NOT to get into too much trouble

The Thin Man brought everyone inside and ordered a lot of pizza for everyone. He wasn’t mad; annoyed, yes but not furious. If these kids were going to get into trouble, it might as well be in the Tower where nothing escapes his eyes...

The children were allowed to explore the Tower, as long as they kept off live floors. Everyone was sycned to check out the Tower, but the Thin Man gave a special order to the Eyes

If any child disobeyed his orders, scare them

opinion on raincoat girl?

oh, hi!!! this is both a very fun and somewhat bewildering ask! mostly because raincoat girl does not, as far as i am aware, commit any notable acts that might be seen in a negative light! (her locking six out of that shed doesn't count due to the fact that six was down and she was still being hunted. it was a smart decision, and i don't fault her for her fear.) my opinion of her is Neutral Positive, overall. HOWEVER: i do have Thoughts, and i will delightedly share them!

RCG will henceforth be referred to as Ricky by me, which is the name i gave her because the "rc" in rcg translated to ricky in my head and i felt that "raine" was way too on the nose. this is silly, because rk is probably way more likely to get that kind of name logically? but i've been calling rk Una for since i learned about them, pretty much, so. rk is una, rcg is ricky.

DISCLAIMER: i havent played vln and i havent watched a complete playthru. i've read all of ricky's wiki.

anyway. since i haven't seem (much) gameplay, im not particularly familiar with ricky's body language or conduct. most of what i understand about her is based around the fact that the nomes of the maw have apparently drawn her, and that she helps other kids and nomes multiple times throughout her escape from the nest. so i personally think ricky is (or was, rather) helpful and compassionate. she seems survival-oriented in a way that makes her inclined to help others, likely because she recognizes that thats how u Get help.

she goes out of her way a few times to help the kid in the red scarf and six, and iirc she does seem to follow them, or at least her path consistently heads in the same directions they've gone. this can be, of course, limitations set by the environment; only so many climables, only so many vents. she likes nomes and toys (evidence for toys: the vln collectible spring toy thingies). however, the general vibe i get from her is that she's a pretty independent person most of the time. she knows her skills and limits and is good at thinking several steps ahead, and does well with little. she has no qualms asking for help—all the nome-focused puzzles—but she's focused and determined enough to manage on her own as she needs.

i also get the general vibe that ricky's kind of playful and silly? i bet she likes little jokes and practical pranks, or she would if those were plausible in the ln reality. i bet she'd use humor to cope with things and it'd seem pretty lighthearted, at least hypothetically. this aspect mostly comes from (1) the general atmosphere of vln is lighter and way less spooky due to game style and limitations; (2) something about her hot air balloon or blimp, man, idk, it just speaks to me; (3) her collectibles are playful and relatively lighthearted compated to mono's remnants and six's statues. kinda. sorta.

random hcs are that she's a year or two older than six, maybe. she'd be the second tallest (usurped only by mono), and she would have a hard time getting along with mono. she and una would be fine, and i think six would be okay with her but they wouldn't be super close or anything.

hm. there you have it! not rly sure what else to say—i don't really care about ricky all that much, unfortunately. i don't NOT care about her, it's just that she's dead and an important piece of six's background, so my interest in ricky is mainly in that and not really in herself as a character. sorry if that's disappointing!

Back when he and Six were younger, they may not have been too close back in The Nest but whenever Six had some things she couldn't share with either Mono or Eliza, Greg was always there to listen to her

Sometimes he'd even give her some light hearted advice. Six never understood why Greg didn't tell anything to Eliza or Mono but she wasn't ungrateful for that either

The first character I first fell in love with: Six of course!!!! I was enchanted from the first ten seconds with this small ferocious little child.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Initially I was super uninterested in the Runaway Kid but as I’ve recently gotten back into the series I??? Love him??? And doubly so for Tratser’s on-point characterization in Childish Anger

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Y’all are gonna crucify me for this but the Janitor. It’s not that I hate Roger, it’s just that I never found the appeal 😔

The character I love that everyone else hates: Is there a character people hate? This fandom seems uniquely devoted to every single character. The fandom doesn’t hate them by any means, more just ignores, but I’m very fond of the red scarf kid from VLN.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: ohhhh this one is hard because I am a ride or die kinda bitch. I used to be super 👀 about the Hunter but not really anymore, I kind of figured out his story in a way that’s satisfying to me and so I dropped him as a character study

The character I would totally smooch: THE LAAADDDYYYYYYY I love her

The character I’d want to be like: Mono! He’s one tough little dude and I admire that, but he also is very compassionate and brave which are qualities I’d like more in myself. Also a neato superpower as a bonus.

The character I’d slap: The Craftsman. Dont touch the child(ren)!!!!!

A pairing that I love: Monosix 🥺 I want them to be able to grow up safe and have a relatively normal life and that’ll never happennnn but a girl can dream.

The epitome of my shipping them is John Wolfe during his Playthrough of LN2 going “Where is SIX? I want to HOLD HER HAND!!!!!”

Again I’m gonna get tarred and feathered for this one but the Lady/Thin Man with the caveat that if it’s some interpretation of it where the Thin Man isn’t Mono then I think it’s pretty cute. But otherwise and especially when it’s just….aged up monosix???? Nah.
