I wasn't born to make gifsets, I was born to make 1 gif and watch it in loop the next week of so
^ how I look at a gif after it has looped the billionth time
#see#it all started when I watched the return of the jedi#and I had to rewind the VHS to watch my fave scenes multiple times#now I just save a gif and i can watch it in loop#this is what technology is for#also I do use the loop function in vlc lol#but you cannot watch a video everywhere in loop#gif are much more portable!!#YOUR FAVOURITE SCENE IN YOU PHONE#FOR FREE#amazing#moss text#who knows if'll ever care enough to make a gifset XD#perchè comunque lezioni di persiano lo guardo fino a consumare lo schermo con gli occhi#le gif sono il bonus di continuare a vedere la bellezza quando voglio#<3<3<3<3<3#to be fair fanart is more rewarding bc I can make them fuck or kiss#but gifs are also nice#keep the fire burning while I cannot draw XD#plus 1 gif is like waaaay less time than 1 sketch for me lol#this is because I make shitty gifs and good art XD#enough rambling#please take my ramblings as a sign to TRY NEW THINGS#and enjoy art in all shapes!! :D

REBLOGS ARE OFF CAUSE THIS GUIDE IS TERRIBLE AND YOU DESERVE BETTER
I will instead redirect you to THIS more comprehensive guide, and cobalt.tools. Cobalt solves the problem of low quality video when you're done with VLC, and it can also take videos from a dozen other social media platforms.
Support the cobalt dev and the better guide writer, not me. I'm just a person who boiled down a wikihow guide and a youtube tutorial into a TLDR. I did not do very much work. They have.
I might turn reblogs back on, but for now I implore you to put your attention where it's needed most. Thanks for understanding. (original post under the cut)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
alright i am sick of yt to mp4 sites being shady and full of viruses and finding websites that seem to be working and then don't work
so HERE'S HOW YOU DOWNLOAD YOUTUBE VIDEOS WITH VLC!! VLC FREAKIN RULES!!
get your youtube link
open vlc, go to media > open network stream
paste your url in the box and PRESS PLAY!
wait for the video to open then go to tools > codec information
copy the entire file location (click the box, then ctrl-a to select all, then ctrl-c to copy)
paste into your browser of choice (i use firefox)
right click video and press "save video as", choose your file format if you want
DONE! NO VIRUSES OR SKETCHY STUFF!
the quality might be a little crummy but if you don't mind that, then shabam! video on your computer! then you can email it to yourself and have it on your phone too if you want! if you need a guide with pictures wikihow has you covered my friends
happy downloading and stay safe on the internet :D

Shuffle your favorite playlist and post the first five songs that come up. Then copy/paste this ask to your favorite mutuals. 💌💜
I don't really have a playlist set up, except technically YT but they're not really... sorted on a 'favorite' basis (I literally ran out of room in actual favorites years ago and started sorting by like, which vocaloid it is and stuff like that)
But I can set my phone which has my entire actual mp3 library to shuffle! Tho I've also been really lazy about like... clearing out tracks I always skip bc they were part of an album already, so if I get one of the ones I literally always skip, ill skip it for the purposes of this prompt too. I'm also including YT links bc why not!
Beautiful - Mystery Skulls
Karma - Bump of Chicken (this is the theme from Tales of the Abyss, and im still mildly salty that the american version doesn't have the vocals in the game)
Dancing Queen (specifically the version from the mamma mia musical)
My Love Will Surely Soar
One and Only - Barenaked Ladies
I'm not gonna lie, my brain is already hitting decision paralysis trying to decide who to throw this prompt at, so any of my mutuals feel free to grab this, I'm always curious what others' music tastes are like!!
#ham rambles#ask#ask prompt#my music is all over the mcfuckin place man#I am GENUINELY shocked it managed to not land on any PINK songs I have like 5 albums#it helps that my new phone didnt have a built in player so I got VLC#and it can play my old files from my iphone days before I figured out how to convert to mp3

you know you're normal about a show when you take so many screenshots for a single episode that you could have filled up the entirety of your childhood ipod touch with just frasier pics and still had a bunch left over
and most of them are just this
#granted they're all like 1080p each but still#also did tons of frame by frames to try and make gifs that ended up being too big for tumblr#wanted to make one of frasier throwing niles's phone but gonna have to trim it down#this is the most screenshots i've taken for a single episode so far and those frasier shirtless scenes def helped#god should not have given me the vlc next frame feature if he didn't expect me to use it#i also take these for art reference so it's not total insanity i swear#frasier#shitpost#text post

Somehow, this is an acceptable work outfit as well as some other genre. Is this goth? Grunge? I feel a bit rocker edgy? My ass is not listening to rock music at this moment though lol
#it's jazz#the rippingtons#a place for lovers#first time listening to this album in ages cause i burned it years ago and it got converted into m4a format instead of mp3#modern phone technology couldn't read that#luckily vlc media player exists and is kinda necessary to listen to music on phones these days#how did that happen#wasnt the big draw of iphone the idea that is was an ipod and a phone?#ironically i have android lmao

KIP'S BIG POST OF THINGS TO MAKE THE INTERNET & TECHNOLOGY SUCK A LITTLE LESS
Post last updated November 23, 2024. Will continue to update!
Here are my favorite things to use to navigate technology my own way:
A refurbished iPod loaded with Rockbox OS (Rockbox is free, iPods range in price. I linked the site I got mine from. Note that iPods get finicky about syncing and the kind of cord it has— it may still charge but might not recognize the device to sync. Getting an original Apple cord sometimes helps). Rockbox has ports for other MP3 players as well.
This Windows debloater program (there are viable alternatives out there, this one works for me). It has a powershell script that give you a little UI and buttons to press, which I appreciate, as I'm still a bit shy with tech.
Firefox with the following extensions: - Consent-O-Matic (set your responses to ALL privacy/cookie pop-ups in the extension, and it will answer all pop-ups for you. I can see reasons to not use it, but I appreciate it) - Facebook Container ("contains" Meta on Facebook and Instagram pages to keep it from tracking you or getting third party cookies, since Meta is fairly egregious about it) - Redirect Amp to HTML (AMP is designed for mobile phones, this forces pages to go to their HTML version) - A WebP/AVIF image converter - uBlock Origin and uBlacklist, with the AI blacklist loaded in to kill any generative AI results from appearing in search engines or anywhere.
Handbrake for ripping DVDs— I haven’t used this in awhile as I haven’t been making video edits. I used this back when I had a Mac OS
VLC Media Player (ol’ reliable)
Unsplash & Pexels for free-to-use images
A password manager (these often are paid. I use Dashlane. There are many options, feel free to search around and ask for recs!). There is a lot that goes into cybersecurity— find the option you feel is best for you.
Things I suggest:
Understanding Royalty Free and the Creative Commons licenses
Familiarity with boolean operators for searching
Investing in a backup drive and external drive
A few good USBs, including one that has a backup of your OS on it
Adapter cables
Avoiding Fandom “wikias” (as in the brand “Fandom”) and supporting other, fan-run or supported wikis. Consider contributing if its something you find yourself passionate or joyful about.
Finding Forums for the things you like, or creating your own*
Create an email specifically for ads/shopping— use it to receive all promotional emails to keep your inbox clean. Upkeep it.
Stop putting so much of your personal information online— be willing to separate your personal online identity from your “online identity”. You don’t owe people your name, location, pronouns, diagnoses, or any of that. It’s your choice, but be discerning in what you give and why. I recommend avoiding providing your phone number to sites as much as possible.
Be intentional
Ask questions
Talk to people
Remember that you can lurk all you want
Things that are fun to check out:
BBSes-- here's a portal to access them.
Neocities
*Forums-- find some to join, or maybe host your own? The system I was most familiar with was vbulletin.
MMM.page
Things that have worked well for me but might work for you, YMMV:
Limit your app usage time on your smartphone if you’re prone to going back to them— this is a tangible way to “practice mindfulness”, a term I find frustratingly vague ansjdbdj
Things I’m looking into:
The “Pi Hole”— a raspberry pi set up to block all ads on a specific internet connection
VPNs-- this is one that was recommended to me.
How to use computers (I mean it): Resources on how to understand your machine and what you’re doing, even if your skill and knowledge level is currently 0:
This section I'll come back an add to. I know that messing with computers can be intimidating, especially if you feel out of your depth. HTML and regedits and especially things like dualbooting or linux feel impossible. So I want to put things here that explain exactly how the internet and your computer functions, and how you can learn and work with that. Yippee!

Let's rate these 6 free music players on Android
All of these are good and do play music well, so I will be critiquing on minor things, any will likely work well for you
Last place, VLC
The inability to edit tags really brings it down, it has very unique UI and some things really need to be edited in the settings like the full scan of phone files being on by default gets annoying. But having the queue on the same page as the music control is really nice.
AIMP, It works well, I just hate the vertical UI
Pulsar, it works well but I dislike the UI, such as not showing album art in the songs section
Metro/Retro and Oto Music are tied for 3rd because they have incredibly similar UI, down to both having a home screen, if you choose one it really comes down to minor differences
Musicolet wins, it really wins for me based off how it shows how many times a song has been played in it's most played songs sections, multiple queues and synced lyrics but I think that these are minor things that come down to preference

HELP ME BUY A NOTEBOOK
EDIT JUNE 3/2024 To clarify more my points!
As my followers know, my pc is old, it's a [pentium(R) dual-core cpu E5200 @ 2.50ghz 2.49ghz] and for that, I can't do my stuff anymore but making small stuff like listen to music, run vlc player to watch a movie and search altho I can't installed some programs anynore because they are migrating to x64 only, my pc is x32 and that's because I couldn't study in january
What I'm asking, first, is redemption for such years and personal humiliations in my life; But this year I'm gonna try hard and harder, anything is possible and I'm willing to ask for help because I realize I can'tdo it alone
I'm not gonna hypocrite, I'm aiming for a good notebook that'll last for years and years just like my pc from 2012
VALUES!!! I'm aiming for something good, like a 3,200brl notebook (brl is the currency of my country; I'm brazilian), I first started this post in february and I've put a 600$, which right now I'm missing 441$ at the moment, thank you so much ❤🧡💛
We all know that in 2024 it's crucial to have or a good phone or a good electronic for work and that's what I want, I'll finally return to my study when it opens again, use it for work (I'M HOPING FOR A HOME OFFICE JOB SOON), and I'm gonna obviously return in making gifs here as I always do but easier; I never stopped in making gifs, you can see it that even all the wave that is happening to me, sometimes I do graphics, because I love doing it and because I know people like my posts, that are even people that started in doing gifs because of me and I'm so happy about this!
I just want to live my life, I know it's been a hardship and I know it will gets better; I'll find the resilience, I'll persevere, and more important, I'm asking for help! I broke my shell and open up because I know I'm not alone and I'm gratefull to my followers because of this, such strength gives me hope, please boost if you can't help with money but knows that you're helping me by boosting; But if you can, even a 1$ is help! Don't worry!!!
Sometimes we fog in darkness and forgets that kindness exists and persevere no matter what.
