hey lena, i was looking around at the patreon, tumblr, pintrest but couldn't find anything, so i was wondering if you had any inspo or description beyond when we get in game or anything for the temple in wallmire/bleakmoor? the outside in particular?
Hi anon, thanks for checking around so thoroughly! I’m notoriously bad at envisioning buildings/specific architectural spaces, but here’s some visual inspo for the outside of the temple! I hope it helps!

I found a couple of reference pics for what the siren boy looks like (as far as tail, scales, etc.). Also, the ear fins? Idk what they're called. He has the glowing green eyes and fangs as well. When he's angry or driven to a strong emotion, he will appear more beastly.
And of course, keeping in mind what Yancy's body type is...

I’m just creating a visual reference for anyone who’s wondering which Captain America scene I took inspiration from for Knock At The Cabin Part Two. For no other reason. Nope. Nothing else going on here at all *clears throat* 👀

Because sameface syndrome is so common especially depicting Asians, I put together a quick and small reference for how to draw different types of faces.
Remember that "Asian" includes Southeast Asia, India, and west Asia as well! We're all not held to the beauty standards marketed by westernised Asian media exports! Even "mainstream" north eastern Asians do not always have the long face and white skin that you see in movies.
The opening image is a more photographic depiction of some different face shapes, but for a simpler image, eyebrow fashion is actually a good place to find face shapes. (Apparently styling the eyebrows to compliment the face shape is a thing. Who knew)
Averages of faces over a few countries. I do NOT recommend using these averages to reference characters, because every individual is unique. If you point at the "Filipino" square to say, "This is the faceclaim for my Filipino character!", you're once again in the Asian sameface hole. However, it's just a reminder that there are many, many different ethnicities that fall under the "Asian" category.
This eye shapes chart is quite simplified, and the appearance will change slightly depending if the eye is double or single lid. However, these are classic archetypes that are commonly identified in Chinese culture.
Translation, left -> right
Row 1:
Zuifeng eye (or fox eye) rarely seen
Danfeng eye (or phoenix eye) rarely seen
Peach flower
Row 2:
Apricot eye
Round eye
Hanging eye
Row 3:
Upper tilt eye
Willow leaf eye
Thin eye
I feel it's really important to note that the first two eye types, Fox and Phoenix, are the ones most commonly portrayed on Asian characters. However, they are actually the LEAST commonly seen in real life. Most people have some combination of the two lower rows.
Last but not least, people are not all lily white like in commerical ads. Makeup foundation swatches are a good place to reference skin tones in general, but I grabbed this image from Shiseido, a popular beauty store chain in Asia. Look at those variety of tones.
(And for the love of god please do not make your asian characters literally yellow. I will manifest on your doorstep with a pickaxe)
And that's all I have for now. Obviously not a comprehensive guide, because my cultural knowledge is limited to my own demographic, (and because nothing can comprehensively cover the wonderful variety of humans), but hopefully it can help a bit.
And very importantly, I don't advocate for any one feature over another, we are beautiful because of our differences.

Kos-keta! The fox!! I'm sure I made 2 fan characters before her but she stuck with me the most, and of course I still am a sonic girlie (to the dismay of those who have known me for most of my life huehue)
Im sure Kosketa is an actual word and I dont know the meaning of it, and someone somewhere might be laughing at that ayyy but I just stuck a line between the kos and keta to be cool
Lore wise, I'm sure she was supposed to be some kind of goddess's daughter, might possess some woaaah powers, but she just chills in the background, absolutely no sign of her having anything to contribute anywhere, she just chills in her space :p
This is not really a visual reference post but I'm feeling nostalgic for my original characters throughout the years and I doubt I would need to remind myself or anyone that she has just this simple design, so take it as you will

I finally S Ranked all the missions!
Here are some memorable moments with my ACs Cypress (1,2,4) and Snow Serpent (3). AC6 was a really fun experience and made me realize that all my builds either revolve around reverse joints or slow weapons with big damage lmao

To the Architectural Student, who is earnestly seeking to gain a knowledge of the principles which guided the Master Masons of the Middle Ages in the erection and development of their glorious buildings, nothing can be more acceptable or of a greater service to him than representing in detail their mode of forming and setting out the smallest matters connected with their works, for it is only by studying in this manner that he can hope ever to arrive :it a thorough knowledge of Gothic Architecture. "With this object in view, both from the commencement of the "Gothic Ornaments" and also throughout the present "Work, I have endeavoured to elucidate every part that I have represented clearly and distinctly, and at as large a scale as the size of the book would allow.
In the two Works — I have now completed four volumes containing altogether upward* of four hundred plates — developing, in the first, Foliated Ornament and Coloured Decoration, and in the last, more particularly the constructive and practical " Details of Gothic Architecture." The manner in which they have been received by the Profession, and the many very flattering encomiums which have been passed upon them during the ten years that I have now been engaged upon them, assures me that I have not been labouring altogether in vain, and that they will not fail to become a welcome addition to the library of the Architect.
Upon issuing the Prospectus of " The Details," I stated that it was not my intention to interfere with the "Analysis of Gothic Architecture," by Messrs. Brandon, but that I should endeavour to more fully elucidate such features as were only paitially developed by them. To this I have adhered, and rather than interfering, it will be found that one work will be a great assistance to the other, and the possessor of one will find it to his advantage to procure the other.

Does anyone ever wonder how anime hair color would subtly mess with a character's skintone?
Hear me out, here. Everyone has body hair, no matter how little or much, and it's everywhere except the palms and soles. If a character has, say, naturally blue hair, that would apply to their body hair too. Including the very fine, nearly translucent hairs on their face (or not invisible, if they're rocking facial hair). (Yes, even women have hair on their face. Like I said, usually it's very fine and invisible. My grandmother didn't wax her philtrum for this kind of erasure.) And that would make them look a bit out of the ordinary, wouldn't it? At the very least, it would lend them a very slight, blue tinge to their face—but due to the world they live in and the colors they're naturally born with, this wouldn't be strange at all for them!
The colors skin is surrounded with and subtly dusted with is enough to expand the tones people would think normal, even just a little bit. The standard of human skintones in a fictional world gets skewed to the left the instant you introduce even atypical hair colors, not just straight-up different skin colors or colors of blood, and I think that's fascinating.
#yes i am thinking about the realism of fictional worlds and i don't care#if a person has naturally purple hair then of course they're gonna have purple body hair! common sense!#i just want to think about how that alters people's perceptions in-universe#bc like. okay i have dark hair so i have dark body hair yeah?#even three feet away looking in a mirror the color difference between my body hair and skintone blurs together#my legs don't just look tan because my skintone is tan it's because the hair on them subtly makes them look a tiny bit darker#so this would also apply to fictional worlds right? am i making sense?#writing reference#oc stuff#visual reference#writing

AJ Visual Reference Sheet
So I've been trying to make some collages and moodboards for the first time and wanted to share these. There is still room for improvement but I think these came out good, even if I used mostly templates as inspiration.
Hair
The base colour of her hair is 'cocoa' and depending on the incidence of light a few thicker upper strands look either a little more like a mix of 'dark brown copper' and 'cinnamon brown' (darker) or a mix of 'light brown copper' and 'golden bronze' (brighter). The top layers of her hair are naturally sun bleached so the small highlights are in the colours of 'honey brown' and 'light caramel'.
