Question! So if the MC were to have moved on, Niko sees or receives an invite to like an engagement or baby shower over say, Facebook (I've noticed a lot of people reunite through socials), would he be happy for them? He doesn't seem like a spiteful ex, but it's hard to tell those things. Would he go to celebrate, just send well wishes, ignore everything, or show up and be negative? Or maybe some other thing I didn't list! I'm very curious!

Happy for Niko to have piqued your interest so much. For Niko to suddenly be asked to see witness MC start a happy life with someone else… it would be painful for him. I could see him waffling a bit, his anxiety and unresolved hurt making him want to avoid it. But this is the first time his former best friend has reached out to him in years. How could he ignore that chance to reach back?

He would have his defenses up for sure: wear his “Nikolai” model persona as armor, be styled to the nines, bring a fancy gift to show he did well for himself, act cool, enjoy the attention/admiration of people recognizing him. Let MC see what they were missing, what they could have kept if they hadn’t left him.

But in the end, none of that pettiness would bring him what he really wanted.

Before leaving, Niko would give them a hug, then whisper a “Congratulations, Bestie. You deserve all the happiness.” He’d give them a smile, not the ones you see on the billboards -- a somewhat sad but genuine smile of the person he had been all those years ago with them.

And he would hold out hope that maybe putting himself through this pain may have been worth it -- maybe a new start with an old friend, a step toward gaining back at least some measure of that friendship that no fame or fortune had ever managed to replace in his life.

No no ikr. The ENT fandom is so quiet around here. And honestly I'm just excited to see art of my favourite dudes, because we rarely get fanart around here, and when we do it's usually Trip or T'Pol solely. Malcolm gets left in the dust quite a lot so I'm happy you drew him as well - and so well done too!

Anyway, ramble over, lol.

OMG... Well I think I can see why a lot of fanart is of Trip and/or T'pol (those two seem like they're doing some heavy lifting for the show/are just a lot of people's faves. I've got a few half baked ideas in mind for them myself.) but the rest of the crew as a whole do deserve more love I think! :]

When Geometry Dons Folk Attire

RADIOSTATIC THEORY/HEADCANON/WHATEVER

So we all saw that picture Vox had of Alastor (the one where it was obviously taken with the both of them toward the end of episode 8). And I’ve seen theories about them being something like friends before their falling out.

And it just got me thinking, what if Alastor was interested in the more modern technology Vox was developing. He saw the potential in it. Or was at least intrigued.

But as that technology progress, much like a lot of capitalistic, corporate sludge entertainment nowadays, it starts get lifeless and formulaic. It starts lacking passion.

And Alastor out here, with his radio where all you have to captivate your audience is sound, gets disgusted with it. There’s no capturing the audience. There’s no passion in it. This corporate entertainment follows a formula that creates the same generic, easy to consume content.

And, hating the way Vox’s technology is growing and creating the equivalent of entertainment sludge in Alastors eyes, starts distancing himself from it. So when Vox asks him to join the Vee’s, Alastor is very blunt in his rejection and does sugar coat WHY he’s not interested.

Which pisses Vox off because, essentially, Alastor is insulting all that he’s built and cultivated, and he starts claiming Alastor is just too stuck in the past and he needs to keep up with the times. Thus, their falling out/fight happens, and bitter feelings are harbored well after that friendship (or whatever that relationship) fell apart.

As I’m still on the radiostatic train (one-sided or otherwise) I think it just adds so much delicious potential and drama. I am rolling this around in my head and I love it.

Whether this is true or not (probably not) I think I might ingratiate this into my canon. It’s just so much fun to think about.
