You know what bothers me about Vaggie's songs? (I am counting Out for love here cause even thought she weirdly doesn't sing here this is mean to be her More than Anything/Loser, Baby) that they are so....visually bland. Whatever it Takes has EASILY the most boring visuals in all the show- is just two women singing on the same purple scenario, with literally nothing else. It wouldn't be so bad if it was an LONG song- like sorry is so boring, even if the instrumental slaps.

The More than Anything reprise is more of the same- it has beautiful lighting but the only interesting part about it is that both Charlie and Vaggie are singing in front of Angel's door- since this whole mess started with those three. I thought that was a good touch- but that is is it really. I give it more slack that Whatever it takes cause at least it's short and again, beautiful lighting.

Out for Love is a bit more dynamic but it just....has Carmilla jumping around the room. Is an improvement over Whatever It Takes (particularly the part where her shoes clicking match the beat- I liked that-) but is nothing to write home about- and again, Vaggie didn't even sing here despite it being a song dedicated to her lmao

I dunno- where is the energy? Even in shorter songs like Respectless or It starts with Sorry we have SOME effect here and there to make it more interesting like the literal trail of hearts on Sorry or the "I am the backbone of the Vees-" beat with all the screens and shit- is ANIMATION- DO SOMETHING!

And that does not even mention the bigger musical numbers. The grand theatrical feel of Ready for This and You didn't know, The crazy energy on both Alastor's songs with Lucifer and Vox respectably, the GORGEOUS visuals of More than Anything, the COLORS of Loser Baby (I could go on a whole rant about this song's visuals) or Poison's constant scene shift to a point where you can't disntintc what is real, what is a metaphor/ilusion and what is a flashback- giving the illusion of that, of a high trip.

All of that- all that visual identity is completely gone from those songs. Visuals that COULD help give Vaggie SOME identity of her own....

AND AGAIN- WHATEVER IT TAKES IS A LONG SONG-

You are right about all this.

It's these kind of details that makes Whatever It Takes one of the more weaker songs in the shows, and the fact that it reinforce the fact that Vaggie's WHOLE character is centered around Charlie and nothing else.

And it also points out how once again the female characters are such an afterthought in this show that they don't get all the cool moments or genuine development compared to the male characters, like at this point Vivzie you're not even hiding how misogynistic you are.

1- Whatever is closer to 25 °C Celsius. If he had to choose, I think he would choose a slightly colder place, because to survival, he knows getting dehydrated can be deadly and warmer places have more mosquitos. He can't get cooler in warmer places but he can warm up in colder places by litting a fire, having something hot to drink, rubbing his chest, or even sleeping close to other survivors. Since Rick is thin, he probably would freeze way more than the others, but nothing an Abraham hug or Daryl hug wouldn't solve to keep him from shaking all night. His gang, they would drag the shaky Rick close to warm him up.

2- Rick can fall asleep anywhere, he had to adapt. Of course he prefers a comfy bed.

3- I don't know why but I have the impression those standard fluffy / fur like blankets would make him sneeze. Quilt he would use to protect his bed from dust. Comforter? Yesss I can see my man hugging a soft comforter and rolling in it after a warm shower yes, spot on. I think heavy weighed blankets would make him feel a bit suffocated, I don't know, last thing wants is to feel like he's stuck on a net when he sleeps. Light ones would be fine. When it's warm, he would use just a sheet.

4- Yes Rick has anxiety insomnia, had limited schizoid episodes in the prison which refrained him from sleeping well and faced some PTSD for quite some time, specially after Negan. By season 7-8, he says he hasn't been sleeping, thinking about his friends. I can also picture that sometimes Rick SEES Abraham and Glenn with their heads smashed "looking" at him or following him around, like he used to see Lori when she died, but he seems "used" to such ilusions by then. It's not explicit to the viewer, but there are references that hint Rick STILL sees allucinations when he's too stressed or sleep deprived (which is more common than people think). And he seems to have some rather agitated sleep or superficial sleep.

In Alexandria people mentioned it was like he was staring things they couldn't see. When he was near death, he had very vivid lucid dreams, unable to tell dream from reality many times. When he saw the CRM helicopter, he didn't treat it as if it were true, he ignored it as if he were seeing things AGAIN, meaning it's something that happens often when he's mentally and emotionally struggling. And Rick's case is serious because the unreal things he experiences aren't JUST VISUAL. He can FEEL the illusions and HEAR them too (the unreal phone calls at the prison, him thinking he's touching Lori after she's gone). And all of those also were followed by a great deal of paranoia and delirium.

Not permanent, depends of how ruined and broken Rick is but to think someone as intelligent as him who has a very good insight still struggles so much with that problem, he really needs help, emotional support specially so he doesn't trigger those periods of crisis and in a normal world, would need psychiatric help for meds like humor stabilizers and anti psychotics, at least until he leaves the crisis periods, plus therapy.

The health problem he has is more serious than most people assume. I wouldn't say it's schizophrenia because the progression doesn't match and the episodes of crisis are short but it is a squizoid mental health problem. When Rick sleeps (in periods of distress) he doesn't actually sleep, he faints due to exhaustion or takes short naps. Severe insomnia.

5- What he likes to wear to sleep depends. If he's comfy at a community, safe and sound with privacy, he might as well as sleep naked or wearing just his boxers. Even if it's a bit cold I can picture him leaving a warm shower, drying himself and falling on bed, getting under the covers and sleeping like that. If he's somewhere safe but has no proper privacy, he might wear a at shirt and more comfy pants. If he's somewhere he might need to act anytime, he's sleeping with his normal clothes, jeans and shirt. If it's cold, he fully closes his murder jacket's zipper and curls under then fluffy fabric. If combat is expected but he has to sleep, he might not even remove his belt. If he's sleeping with a lover he probably wants to sleep wearing nothing at all and just nuzzle / cuddle as much as he can.

Just let him sleep and be happy.

Was thinking recently about how trash motion blur is, which led to thinking about cinematography tropes and shenanigans that I don't like, and because the action genre is the easiest one to pick on, i present to you:

WHY DARK HALLWAY FIGHT SCENES ARE JUST BAD

Have you ever seen a scene where the MC starts fighting in a dark room while gunshots/sparks from metal clashing are the only source of light and each time one of these go across the screen we can see The Action ™ for a brief moment.

Well i don't like when that happens, and because i am so chivalrous and benevolent towards the good people of hollywoo, i'll explain why this sucks in this essay and even offer a solution!

1. It just sucks.

I'm not epileptic, i don't get sick or anything related to flashing lights, but these scenes have actually made me feel sick since i saw them with 7-like years old on some fast&furiouse movie i saw with my family and i still hate them.

The sole idea of this format feels jarring visually because it creates a brief moment of disconection or uncertainty in the viewer, but not the cool "outmatched" or "outplayed" kind of situation where the uncertainty comes from not knowing what happens next or how the MC will or could come out of this situation (if the media is good enough to make you feel like the MC is not invincible)

We know that they're kicking ass. You are not a god of cinematography by covering our eyes and giving us the ilusion of fast paced shots and takes and it just feels unconfortable for the watcher (and potentially lethal for someone who can have a seizure at the mention of porygon)

2. I just don't like it lol

WHAT'S BETTER THEN?

These scenes are used in more grittier "vigilante" settings to emphazise the edginess (i guess..?) of the world and the poor conditions of the place where the Kombat happens. So i think the solution is

STEALTH SCENES JESUS CHRIST

Stealth scenes do the exact same thing as dark hallway fights and better by kilometers!

The outmatched thing can be reserved for other instances knowing that in the dark hallway scene the MC wins against the small army of nameless goons, so taking them silently not only makes more sense but can also match the setting or the goal of the character. (for example spider-man stealth where the setting is not exactly dark but it makes sense)

The dark hallway scenes on the other side are just a slightly faster version of these and feel just wrong.

BALLS TRIPPIN WHILE KILLING PEOPLE SCENE

To be honest i think this could only apply to animated media but something something hotline miami 2 ending with The Son could be awesome to see, just imagine the goons deforming on neon colors on an abyss while some EDM song blaring in the background.

This one is more limited because it could only be on clubs of when the MC is high and it's not exactly tender with people who can have seizures so.

Kuroki Yoko / Magical Yoko (F) / Shadow Impulse: A shadowy figure can take contol of her body to increas her physical strength, speed and overall abilities. She cannot full control her impulses on this state.

Mizuno Fuyuko / Fractal (F) / Icicle rain: She can generate Icicle spikes and throw them at people as proyectiles.

Mochizuki Ren / Moonsagi (Agender) / Lunar energy: Moonlight increases their phisical abilities. They are very tired during the day as a side effect.

Raimei Akira / SpiderShock (NB) / Electric Web: They can geerate a restant spider web that is constantly electrified and can shock opopnets.

Sano Junko / X-Teleport (F) / Teleportation: She can teleport to wherever she can see. To do this she must place her arms formig an "X shape"

Shimizu Taiki / S-Lime (M) / Slime: He can generate Sticky slime to trap his oponents.

Tsukishima Kuma / Bear Hug (M) / Bear: He can do whatever a bear can.

Yoshioka Hideki / Chance (M) / Probability manipulation: He can alter the chance of something happening. However he cannot make something 100% or 0% there is always a bit of chance involved.

i was just listening to starry starry night covered by lianne la havas and it made me wanna stare at Sunflowers for the nth time. personally i really like expressionist art and folk art. surrealism is really neat too !! all kinds of art is special but those are the ones im usually most drawn to

Is not classical per se, but i'm just gonna divide art after before the vanguards because timeline complexities kajskaks

I really really love Dürer's work. His engravings are another level of genius.

Also I love baroque arquitecture, how the angles and general obscurity began changing to incoorporate the light and colors of rococo. Also Gothic and neo gothic. I'm more into architecture than museums to be honest.

After that i really value impresionism (a talent i do not have at all) to transform an image in a moment by the ilusion of movement. Monet is my favorite for that. His work is a little more simple than the rest of his peers (visually at least) but i think is honest and calm.

I really love surrealism. Right now is the kind of art i apreciate more in galleries, because is huge at this very moment in contemporary artists.

Also mexican muralism is just incredible. In my uni we have "Presencia de América Latina" that was a gift from México to my college campus after an eartqueake in the 60's. Is so beautiful and giant. (Like 7 mts tall x 20 mts wide)

The mural begins with despictions of Mexican desert, the eagle and the colonization and ends with the Patagonia, industrialization and our Condor Andino. Is beautiful and has a great sense of identity.

After looking at all my different Skyrim special edition accounts, I have a collective 903 hours (I did delete some accounts so this is not 100% accurate). My accounts include...

Nugget: Khajiit, the og account. Anything goes, played mostly with mods. Lvl 111

Bakhr Gro-Kasag: Orc, glass canon that only uses orsimer weapons and armour. Played almost exclusively without mods. Perma-bugged. Lvl 80

The Asset: Argonian, fists and illusion magic build. Non-damaging magic from other schools also allowed. Shape of water roleplay/ meme build. No mods. Lvl 50

Manos, The Hands of Fate: Dunmer, Lightning Magic only, with a side of Ilusion for flavor. Expert difficulty only, no armour perks. Based on a Streamers awful build, so I copied it for the memes. Genuinely one of the most difficult builds I have ever done. Visual mods only. Lvl 36

Moon Sugar: Khajiit, dual forks in chefs outift, cannibal and og vampire. Originally, I was going to do dual forks only but since that was so painful I decided to add poisons since it fits the chef theme. Based on a joke with a friend about making the actual worst build I can think of. It is a nightmare but getting the forks broke my game so this savefile is hilariously unstable. Random crashes and speed glitches are guaranteed on equiping the forks from the quick menu. Occasionally I will teleport to random areas on the map and I have gotten stuck in unreachable areas because of this. Sometimes I just fall through the map, its amazing. This is the only savefile where I use exploits, because the game is already broken anyways. Lvl 13

Quentin was so confused. He had been using his drones to show Peter's worse nightmares, not his. Until he realized… It wasn't an ilusion. It was all real.

Earlier, the plan was to simulate another disaster that Mysterio would save the city from. You were part of his team and found yourself on the street where it would take place, ready to help the show happen, as he liked to call.

You pretended you were just some civilian listening to music, completely unaware of everything. But through your headphones you heard Quentin and his team organizing everything.

"All the drones are in position, Sir." You heard a male voice confirm.

"Great." Quentin replied, you could imagine he was smiling at himself. "Y/N, my love? You know what you have to do."

"I'll make sure everyone sees you." You whispered on the speaker.

"Good girl." He said confidently. "Start the show. Now."

Right after his last word, your eyes widened. It was on.

You saw the floor in front of you starting to shake, and, suddently, the street opened in the half, causing several car crashes and an absolute riot. People were running and bumping into you, you knew you couldn't just stand there and enjoy the show. So you started to run too, keeping your eyes glued to the huge creature that looked like a shadow emerging from the hole on the street. You knew it was only a matter of time before Quentin appeared to save the day, and your job was to warn everyone he was there.

You knew it was all fake. You even knew how it was made. But you could swear the ilusions just got better every time, and sometimes it was hard to know what was real. The monster was destroying buildings and the hole on the street grew bigger and biggers, swalloing cars and people. It was purely visual, but you could actually feel the ground moving under you… And Quentin seemed to never show up. How big did it have to get?

At some point, you started to actually fear for your life. People were running over each other, trying to escape that place… But you had to stay there and wait. They tried to take you away, to pull you with them, telling you that you had to go, or you would die. And in the middle of all that, you fell 3 or 4 times, getting bruises on your arms and legs, and losing count of how many people stepped on you. You needed to get out.

But as you tried to move away from the crowd, you barely stepped on the street and saw it open under your feet, creating an abyss. Your first reaction was to jump, but you were in the middle of the road and ended up getting hit by a car, falling unconscious on the floor.

Quentin was getting ready to get Mysterio in action, when he saw everything. He saw the panic in your eyes and he saw you falling on the floor covered in blood.

"STOP!" He yelled. "Stop everything right now!"

"But, sir…"

"I SAID STOP." He ran to the place where you laid and got on his knees beside you.

Suddently, everything around you started to disappear. The monster entered the abyss and the street seemed to be stitched. No one knew what was going on and the riot continued. But not for Quentin. For him, there was only you and him, in the entire world.

If anyone ever used E.D.I.T.H. against him, that's exactly what it would show: You getting hurt because of him. But the barriers between ilusion and reality had been broken that day. Now you were dying in his arms.

"Baby… Y/N, please." He cried as he brought your weak body to his chest. "Please, talk to me… It wasn't real, Y/N, fuck, you knew it wasn't!"

Someone from his team sent help and soon you found yourself in the hospital at his base. You had to go through surgery and Quentin was on his worst psycho mood as he waited to see you. After a few hours, they told him you were awake, but he needed to stay calm, because you were still in danger.

He bursted into your room and sat beside your hospital bed, with tears filling his eyes again. You had never seen that man cry…

"Quent…" You said weakly.

"Yes, honey, it's me. I'm here with you." He gently grabbed your hand and stroked it. As far as he could see, you had bruises everywhere and he didn't want to hurt you more than he already did. "Listen… I'm so sorry. I can't believe I almost lost you. You're everything I have, Y/N…"

"You saved me." You smiled at him. "Mysterio is my hero."

"No, Y/N." He said angrily. "This is all my fault. What the fuck was I thinking? I shouldn't risk your life like that. I didn't mean to scare you…"

"I'll be fine." You assured him. "I must help you to get what you deserve."

"You know… I fucking love you and I love that you're helping me." He smiled at you. "But it would be useless to be the king without my queen. For now on, we have to be more careful, okay? I can't afford to lose you. You're the most precious thing I have."

"I love you, Quent." You told him, too exhausted to keep your eyes open any longer.

"I know." He kissed your forehead. "Now rest and get better soon. We have a world to rule together."

“Con una serie de obras que reflejan momentos de angustia, realismo, sueño, temor, alegría y emociones que han experimentado a lo largo de sus vidas, maestros y alumnos de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de la Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila, así como artistas visuales de Baleares, España, crearon la exposición itinerante internacional México-España “Castillos en el Aire”.

Durante la inauguración la curadora de las obras, Adriana Cerecero, destacó que el tema propuesto para la muestra manifiesta relación entre la ilusión y la cruda realidad, la decepción, evasión y los espejismos de la vida del artista.

Marcos Vidal Font, quien lidera la exposición, convocó a maestros y alumnos de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas para formar así parte de su exposición en su décima edición en el Festival Arte de Inca en Mallorca, España.

Las obras de los universitarios y maestros se han mostrado en tres recintos de España, ahora regresan a México y en ella se suman ocho artistas de Mallorca con sus obras, con lo que enriquecen el propósito de internacionalización de la muestra.

Federico Jordán, Alejandro y Adriana Cerecero, Anabel Fuentes, Roberto García, Adolfo Guzmán, Gabriela Guevara, Antonio Herrera, Angélica Ortiz, Ana Delia Ortega, Lorena Peña y Francisco Piñón son los artístas que colaboraron de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de la UAdeC, ademas participan los artistas visuales de Baleares, España: Mar Agüera, Pep Guerrero, Ramón Company, Teresa Matas, Blanca Alonso Vidal, Francisco García Hermenegildo, David Campaner, Félix Coll, Victoria García Masdeu y Marcos Vidal Font.

Desde el día de ayer y hasta el 31 de julio, la exposición de obras estará abierta al público en las instalaciones del Recinto de Patrimonio Cultural Universitario de la máxima casa de estudios ubicado sobre la calle Hidalgo del Centro Histórico.

El rector Salvador Hernández Vélez destacó que para la UAdeC es de suma importancia llevar a cabo colaboraciones internacionales a través del arte, mostrando que el proceso de internacionalización va más allá de intercambios de movilidad estudiantil, docente y de investigación, contribuyendo desde todas las áreas a la internacionalización de la Universidad.

“Todo lo que es creación debe mostrarse de manera universal, por ello debemos fortalecer el esfuerzo que permita dar continuidad a la realización de exposiciones en conjunto con artistas de diversos países, con los que la colaboración y la sinergia se permita la creación de grandes muestras de arte”, afirmó.

Asimismo, expresó que a través de la coordinación entre creadores de diversos países, existe una mayor oportunidad de dar a conocer las manifestaciones del arte de otras partes del mundo en nuestro país y viceversa, por lo que es importante que se promueva el trabajo colectivo entre los grupos que manifiestan el arte.”
