अभिनेता-राजनीतिज्ञ कमल हासन स्टारर फिल्म ‘इंडियन 2’ का मंगलवार को फर्स्ट लुक रिलीज हो चुका है. फिल्म का फर्स्ट पोस्टर पोंगल के मौके पर रिलीज किया गया.  मूवी का निर्देशन डायरेक्टर एस शंकर ने किया है. इस फिल्म में कमल हसन एक बुजुर्ग शख्स का किरदार निभा रहे हैं. पोस्टर रिलीज होते ही सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हो गया है. ऐसी खबरें भी हैं कि राजनीत‍ि में व्यस्तता के चलते ये कमल हासन की आखिरी फिल्म होगी.

डायरेक्टर शंकर ने फिल्म का फर्स्ट पोस्ट ट्विटर पर शेयर करते हुए लिखा- #indian2 ‘हैप्पी पोंगल’. ये फिल्म 1996 में आई मूवी ‘इंडियन’ का सीक्वल है. फिल्म में कमल हासन के अपोजिट रोल में काजल अग्रवाल हैं. इससे पहले, ऐसी खबरें थी कि फिल्म में सिंबू एक ��हत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने वाले हैं. लेकिन हालिया खबरों से पता चला है कि एक्टर इस प्रोजेक्ट से बाहर हो गए हैं. फिल्म के बाकी कलाकारों और क्रू का खुलासा होना बाकी है. अनिरुद्ध रविचंद्रन फिल्म के लिए म्यूजिक कम्पोज करने वाले हैं. प्रोडक्शन कंपनी लायका फिल्म को प्रोड्यूस कर रही है.

काजल ने फिल्म में अपने रोल के लिए पहले से ही तैयारी शुरू कर दी है. उन्होंने आईएएनएस को बताया कि वह ‘इंडियन 2’ को करियर के एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम के रूप में देखती हैं. उन्होंने कहा, “म��ं इस प्रोजेक्ट का हिस्सा बनकर काफी खुश हूं. मैं अपने रोल को लेकर बहुत उत्साहित हूं. इससे मुझे सीखने का मौका मिलेगा.

कमल हासन की आखिरी फिल्म

एक इंटरव्यू के दौरान एक्टर कमल हासन ने बताया था कि वो एक्टिंग छोड़ रहे हैं. उन्होंने कहा कि वो एक्टिंग और पॉलिटिक्स साथ में नहीं कर सकते. वो अब पॉलिटिक्स पर ध्यान देंगे. इसलिए उन्होंने एक्टिंग छोड़ने का फैसला लिया. इसी के चलते ऐसा कहा जा रहा है कि ये फिल्म कमल की आखिरी फिल्म हो सकती है.

Vishwaroop(am) - Class thriller

This was Kamal Haasan's apology letter for Manmadhan Ambu. As a kamal admirer, I was mighty disappointed with MMA and when I learnt he was directing again, words could not express my happiness and excitement. And unlike Dashavtar, this movie is more accessible to the general audience [Dasa was more regionally rooted in Tamil and should've stayed that way instead of being dubbed in various languages.]

Coming to Vishwaroop, the film showcases brilliance in the the war with Afghanistan & the encounter with sleeper cells/terrorists. The film entertains for the most part but also parts with some knowledge of cesium, dirty bombs & it's after effects. You may have seen a broad (read: dumbed down) version in Vijay's Thuppakki, but VR explains the meaning of jihadis and their motives against Americans.  Part 1 begins with Nirupama retelling the events of her life (settling down with Vishwanath, kathak dancer until her boss reveals his involvement with the dirty bombs through muslim terrorists.) Inbetween, Kamal shows his relation with Omar through the Jihadi training in Afghanistan and the film ends with Kamal disarming the dirty bomb while Omar and Salim head to India to plan their next attack.

Kamal showcases his excellence as a Kathak exponent (do check out his transformation scene when the muslims begin interrogating him), but his alter-ego in the flashback portions are more interesting (afghan getup.) Rahul Bose as Omar, the jihadi is excellent and one of his best roles in recent times. Ditto goes to Jaideep. It's quite hard to believe that most of the Afghan scenes were shot in Ambattur, Chennai! Fantastic work from the Art & VFX department!

Since the movie is being made in two parts, I suspect Part 2 will reveal the fight between Wissam/Omar (prior to their escape to America), Ashmita's involvement with RAW, Wissam's encounter in India with Omar & the final fights. Lots to be explained in VR, but I'm very happy that Kamal made an awesome movie on part with Hollywood excellence.
