As much as I miss the races during summer break, seeing drivers spending time with their family on vacation and/or at home makes my heart so happy. Especially the ones that left home at an extremely young age and moved to another country/continent just to pursue their dream

Sorry it won’t let me send though this as a message, but the virtuosi cars are normally blue, just to give you a heads up.
Though do u think that the Ferrari academy drivers should also follow the trend of having a represented livery?
hello! thank you for sending me an ask, i appreciate it! are they normally actually blue? i thought they'd been matching alpine/renault liveries ever since they became virtuosi in 2019, with zhou running the yellow in 2019/2020 (with his teammates either matchy yellow (ghiotto) or callum ilott's red) and then the alpine blue in 2021/2022 (the latter for doohan). i can't remember ever seeing a non-academy liveried virtuosi but i could be wrong lmao (ive also only looked at f2, idk if theyre active in any other series but i dont think they are?)
hmmm interesting question! i'm not sure, i'm not big on academy liveries because they basically just look like a mini-version of the f1 car and i normally love seeing distinct liveries on the f2 teams. i like ferrari's approach by just slapping some big ferrari academy logos on the juniors' cars while retaining the team livery. i feel like the 6 red bull liveries are bad enough, imagine having a full ferrari livery at the height of ferrari juniors in f2 in 2020 when there were also like 4 or 5 of them at the same time. i like recognising teammates by livery, some variation between them is fun but a full academy livery + an adjusted livery to match it barely look like teammates u know
#ask*#this all comes down to the fact that i dont wanna be thinking too much about whos who during a race lmao#thank u for the ask!! its been a long time since ive had a fun question re: junior series#my one brain cell worked hard to remember virtuosi liveries lmao

if the rumours are to be believed felipe has turned down an indy seat with chip ganassi last year and is now prepared to pass up an fe seat with andretti. i get wanting f1, i get that he's got lots of sponsors now wanting to see that happen. but is risking getting sidelined for yet another year worth it? i guess if it still doesn't work out for next year he might be like okay let's look elsewhere. but that's provided the good opportunities are still there. and the more he waits the more he risks getting forgotten in favour of new rising talents.
and ironically he would never have found himself in such a position if he didn't win f2...if maybe after the virtuosi flop year he decided it was time to move on he might be. still a full time racing driver rn.

hi!! so i’m very new to f2 (i’ve only started educating myself on it recently so that i can watch this season and know the teams + drivers), but when it comes to teams, is there a certain team that is capable of winning championships but also isn’t like, the best? like for example, one of their drivers can win the championship while the other driver may not perform as well that season.
(this is so specific i’m so sorry 😭)
dont apologize love!! it's a great question <3
you've chosen a good season to start watching, i think 2024 will be great!! with the new car, everyone will be kind of starting on the same level, and we have a lot of great drivers who will try to prove themselves this year. it's going to be wonderful 🤭
the way i see it, f2 is much more equal than f1, but it's still not completely equal. some teams just don't usually get good results, but there are several teams who are up in the fight for the titles every year. but different teams have different budgets, different levels of skill in their engineers & other staff members, and so on.
so i think i would say that the short answer is yes, some teams occasionally will win the driver's championship with one driver while the other driver finishes far from the top in the standings. i'm not sure if it's because the team has invested more money and time into only one car, because the car just fits one driver better, or because one driver is just better – i guess that differs a lot from year to year.
but i wouldn't say that there's just one team that fits into that category. in 2017-2019, the team's championship was won by another team than the team of the driver who took the driver's title. in those years, the drivers of other teams were just more consistent i guess. in 2020 and 2021, prema had two good years with two drivers who constantly were in the top of the points. in 2022, felipe drugovich was very dominant and only finished out of the points twice. and in 2023, it was a very close fight between the art gp drivers and the prema drivers, but the art gp drivers were more consistent.
i made a quick lil summary of the seasons since f2 (the version we have today) started, feel free to skip it if you want to;
2017 - charles leclerc won the driver's championship, driving for prema, but prema lost the team's championship to russian time (now virtuosi racing) as their drivers came 2nd and 4th in the championship (charles's teammate came 8th).
2018 - george russell took the win in the driver's championship, but his team, art gp, lost the team's championship to carlin (lando's team).
2019 - nyck de vries took the most points, giving art gp their second consecutive driver's title, but the team only came third in the driver's standings with 277 points, since his teammate nikita mazepin only scored 11 points all season. dams scored 418 points and their drivers came in second and fourth in the standings.
2020 - prema took the title, after having come second to last in the 2019 team's championship. mick schumacher won the driver's championship, but only 14 points ahead of virtuosi driver callum ilott. mick and robert shwartzman scored a total of 392 points for prema, while callum and teammate zhou guanyu took home 352.5 points for virtuosi.
2021 - oscar's year <3 in 2021, the team's championship wasn't really that exciting; oscar took 252.5 points, robert (who came second) took 192, for a total of 444.5 points for prema. the second best team, virtuosi, scored 288 in total.
2022 - felipe drugovich was quite dominant, scoring over 100 points more than second-place theo pourchaire (265 points vs 164). his teammate in mp motorsport, clement novalak, came in 14th with a total of 40 points – but without those 40 points, mp would've finished third in the championship instead of first. carlin and art gp were 8 and 24 points behind the team, respectively.
2023 - well, i don't wanna say too much about this season because if i start i think i might not ever finish. but i think you could say that all four drivers (theo pourchaire, frederik vesti, victor martins and ollie bearman, finishing in that order in the standings) of the top two teams (art gp and prema) all showed great pace all season. art gp took only two race wins throughout the season, whereas prema took ten. fred and ollie were extremely unlucky at times, though, and i'm not sure if it's because of the team or truly just bad luck. though, fred losing both of his rear tyres was definitely the team's fault... but other drivers had good pace too, like jack doohan and ayumu iwasa who finished 3rd and 4th, while their teammates finished 15th and 20th in the total standings.
hope this wasn't too long and i wasn't too confusing.... feel free to stop by if you have any other questions or anything love!! 💓

Correa completes Formula 2 comeback mission by securing spot on 2023 grid | Formula 2
Juan Manuel Correa will return to Formula 2 full-time in 2023, four years on from his life-threatening crash in the series. The American-Ecuadorian was placed in a coma after a crash at Spa-Francorchamps that cost the life of Anthoine Hubert. Correa sustained serious damage to his lungs and legs that required him to learn how to walk again after extensive surgery. After doing so, Correa worked on a return to racing and achieved that in FIA Formula 3 last year. He came 21st in the standings in his comeback season, then claimed a podium this year and finished an improved 13th in the championship. Last month the opportunity arose to race in F2 again, with Correa standing in for another driver at Van Amersfoort Racing for the season finale. He had a penalty-filled weekend, but enjoyed the experience and has now signed with the team to contest the full 2023 campaign. “Being back full-time in F2 means more to me than most people can imagine,” said Correa. “It is not just an achievement in itself to be on this grid, but it also is a realisation of a goal that has been the epicentre of my efforts for the last three years, so it is a very emotional achievement.”He will drive alongside Richard Verschoor at the team. “I am super-grateful for the opportunity that VAR is giving me,” Correa continued. “I am very hungry, I am very motivated, and I know the team is as well. “I am sure together we, the team and my team mate Richard, will make a great line-up and create a great working environment for everyone. We will be pushing each other to continuously improve, because we all want to do well this upcoming season.” Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and go ad-free Correa returned to F2 in last month’s season finale In their first F2 season this year, VAR suffered from a rotation of drivers but did show pace quickly with a podium finish in their second event. However that was lost to a technical infringement, and subsequently the team’s best result was a fourth place. They finished the year with five consecutive strong points finishes. “F2 is a competitive category, and I think VAR has done a really good job in their first year in the championship,” said Correa. “With the little experience they had, they’ve put on a very impressive performance. I am looking forward to seeing how I can help the team improve and work together with them in this very exciting season!” 2022 Formula 2 grid so far Team Driver Driver MP Dennis Hauger Jehan Daruvala Carlin TBC TBC ART TBC TBC Prema TBC TBC Hitech TBC TBC DAMS Ayumu Iwasa Arthur Leclerc Virtuosi Jack Doohan Amaury Cordeel PHM by Charouz Roy Nissany Brad Benavides Trident Clement Novalak TBC Van Amersfoort Richard Verschoor Juan Manuel Correa Campos Ralph Boschung Kush Maini Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and go ad-free Formula 2 Browse all Formula 2 articles via RaceFans - Independent Motorsport Coverage https://www.racefans.net/

F2 liveries 2023
A guide to the f2 liveries for the 2023 season!
good to know: teammate liveries in f2 need* to be at least 70-80% similar in colors *this used to be the case in 2020, not sure if it still is a rule but most likely it still is. I think Callum Ilott once said this on a stream so I have no source lol
MP Motorsport (Hauger & Daruvala) Changes: not much, the original livery is still black and orange
Rodin Carlin (Maloney & Fittipaldi) Changes: no idea what their actual livery is since they're both RB juniors
ART GP (Pourchaire & Martins) Changes: presumably changed the livery to accommodate Martins' Alpine livery but with maroon red for Pourchaire as a Sauber Academy driver
Prema (Vesti & Bearman) Changes: still looks extremely similar to their normal livery, thank the lord. no huge changes
Hitech Pulse-Eight (Crawford & Hadjar) Changes: who knows! Another pairing of RB juniors, so they're not running their usual livery
DAMS (Iwasa & Leclerc) Changes: you guessed it, another RB junior. The other car looks like a regular DAMS car, not a whole lot of change in their normal livery
Virtuosi (Doohan & Cordeel) Changes: another livery adjusted to suit the Alpine livery. Cordeel is not Alpine but got stuck with the blue anyway. No idea what Virtuosi's actual livery would've been
PHM Racing by Charouz (Nissany & Benavides) Changes: where Charouz used red, white and blue, PHM is going for brown for some inexplicable reason?
Trident (Stanek & Novalak) Changes: sure looks like a regular old Trident, nothing shocking there
Van Amersfoort (Verschoor & Correa) Changes: good old black and orange, is this a legal requirement for Dutch teams? asking for a friend. No changes from last year!
Campos Racing (Maini & Boschung) Changes: not sure why they have different colors since neither are affiliated with an academy, maybe just sponsors, but I'm not mad at it. Looks similar to last year's liveries.
#f2#text*#f2 2023#f2 liveries#i have no words for the phm livery. what the fuck is that#also all the rb liveries. death#yall look the same i cant differentiate#i put the images next to one another but thats for some reason not showing. apologies
