Multi-game!Hero ups the scale of the friend areas in Gates. They are fully on board to make an ice cavern, fully functioning volcano, partial desert, and more all for their recruits. There are some normal houses dotted around Paradise for any Pokémon to use—but the sheer scale (which probably spawns a few mystery dungeons) is impressive. Partner both loves and fears their human friend sometimes. Emolga fucking loves it, is always encouraging Hero to go bigger. Dunsparce does not regret joining in the slightest bit since he can help give feedback on Pokémon who don’t have the best sight or live mostly underground.

Virizion… She genuinely wonders if the Hero is Mew (who hasn’t been seen in years) in disguise, if this level of constructive insanity runs in all humans, or if there is some mania caused by mystery dungeons that affects non-Legendary Pokemon. (Keldeo would have loved it.) Also, what in the world is Midnight Cavern?

(Hero wanted to know if Ghost Types and Dark Types working together could cause a perpetual shroud of darkness. This is also the area the more nocturnal Pokémon call home).

Azumarill smiles from the sidelines since this oh-so-reminiscent of the Camp grounds her sons’ heroes made so many years ago. Quagsire enjoys the muddy fields set up and will often recruit more travelers to settle down. The twin Timburr love all the opportunities they get to add to their overall experience as carpenters (and technical landscapers). Gurdurr joins the lovely Virizion in perpetual confusion.

Post Town both loves, fears, respects, and worries about the two young entrepreneurs just across from the town.

headcanon. a rundown of kyurem's physical health. (his mental health, you ask? that is, like, a whole other sealed evil in a can of worms. we can touch on that later.) there will be some addendums down the line to elaborate a couple key points, because headcanons with headcanons is our cross to bear. Fair warning: near the end of this post there are hints of potentially implied self harm. If there is anything else I need to tag please let me know via DM.

Kyurem is... not in the best state, to put it very lightly. Anyone with an intuitive eye can see that he is constantly fatigued, or his stride has the barest of a limp. Centuries (and, arguably, lifetimes) worth of scars and injuries litter his body that never truly had the chance to heal properly. What do you expect when you are a literal living husk of your former self?

Some of the oldest ones were sustained during the fall of Isshu. There are the remains of horrible bone-deep cuts along his left shoulder-blade and into his upper arm, and a similar one on his upper right thigh and into his kneecap. In his dragon form at the time he sustained these injuries, these translated to a gruesomely broken wing and fractured leg that required time in his Dragonstone state to heal (at the time, called a Prime Stone).

On top of that... because the flow of the Dragon Force was heavily restricted during this time period, sadly at his own doing, it took centuries for those wounds to even close, much less mend at all. This was more or less the state the twins had found him in when Kyurem awoke in the pre-revolution era. He couldn't fly nor walk properly, so when he tried to take off from the top of Dragonspiral Tower, well, it surely was a dragon spiraling down. With the help of the twins he eventually made a recovery, but it took many years and the weakness in his limbs were still felt during the revolution.

There are definitely some scars here and there from their battles, but of course the most gruesome of all was the time of The Split and afterwards when he was being hunted as a monster. Large horrendous gashes from his collarbone all the way to his lower abdomen, with near-mirrored ones along his back; nasty and discolored and pale, almost like they were still fresh. Jagged claw marks are raked all over his neck, chest, and forearms with varying degrees of length and depth. Many of these look almost frostbitten, like pale veins of ice running underneath his skin.

**A jagged diagonal cut runs from his right lower jaw that breaks and continues over his left eye; sustained from Virizion after he accidentally killed her fellow Swords when they were trying to subdue his rampage. He was forced to revert to his Void Stone state immediately following; so while it thankfully didn't leave permanent vision damage, the scar remains in full view as a reminder of this grave sin that still haunts him to this day.

Not a pleasant time, for sure... There is a reason he covers up his skin as much as possible in his human guise.

To this day Kyurem still suffers from muscular and nerve damage, and they manifest as intense body aches, tenderness, and weakness in limbs. Migraines always follow, with the sensory overload rendering him incapable of being out in the light or around sounds. The cold he generates acts like a natural immune response, dulling the pain when it arises. However, much like a natural immune response, when they get really bad the cold has a tendency to overcompensate, making everything feel worse and making him want to seclude himself even more.

Of course, he refuses to seek any manner of professional medical attention or assistance for his condition and would rather deal with it himself. Good luck trying to convince him otherwise.

Why doesn't he just revert to his Dragonstone form to sidestep the pain? Aside from that these injuries are much too old to ever heal with that method and it would only delay the inevitable, well, that's another headcanon.

it’s my blog i get to hold you all hostage while i yell about keldeo gates to infinity at 2am

okay so this is like the sort of final culmination of the “keldeo’s actually a human” theory (bc im not going to stop talking about this) and i am. very excited. i have been Thinking™ about this for a while. 

im putting this under a keep reading bc it’s going to be long (also tw for talking about burn scars)

basically it goes like this:

— hydreigon calls keldeo and a few other humans to the pokemon world to destroy the bittercold when it’s in its early-ish stage and not incredibly threatening but still a problem. (i’ll make a whole post about this later too bc i’ve also been Thinking™ about it)

— keldeo goes to the great glacier without much problem bc he’s a human and can breathe around the bittercold and everything. 

so he gets to the bittercold. he’s standing right in front of it, and while he does feel a little disturbed by it — what is this weird ice thing anyway, why can he hear whispering, and now his chest is starting to feel kinda tight? what’s going on? — he’s still curious about it. he’d heard about the rumors of the strange great crystal that can make matter around it float, and he’s seen a few things floating in the glacier palace. maybe not as many as he was expecting, but certainly enough that the rumor would have validity. 

okay, so maybe this isn’t the great crystal. maybe he took a wrong turn somewhere. that certainly wouldn’t be unlikely — the great glacier is a complete unknown, after all. if this were really the great crystal, he’d probably be floating too. unless, what if you had to do something to it? what if you had to interact with the crystal in some way to have gravity affect you? it’s plausible. after all, as far as he knows, he’s the first one to make it here. 

so like any good scientist would, he decides to test out the idea. the most basic way to interact with something? touch it. 

keldeo touches the bittercold. he puts the whole palm of his left hand against its core without realizing the fact its the core. much like the realization someone has when they press their hand flat against an iron, he thinks

hey, maybe i shouldn’t have done that. 

i think the bittercold would feel like liquid nitrogen (it’s so cold that it actually feels like it’s burning you), but just. infinitely worse. and if keldeo’s touching the core, it’s bound be somewhat hot! it’s like sticking your hand into the furnace of a coal-run train! 

anyway, his hand comes back looking like there’s a thin layer of ice over it (traveling up a bit past his wrist) but there’s not. it’s literally just his hand. turned into ice. but not really. scars fade away over time, so eventually the ice-look goes away and ends up looking more like a blue and purple burn scar. freezerburn, if you will. it’s hard to move his hand, especially his fingers. his wrist aches, but that’s to be expected. he got hurt. it’s going to hurt afterwards. 

and that would be all well and good if he’d been able to leave the glacier palace without issue, but we all know what happened from there. kyurem and munna told him what the bittercold really was for, keldeo goes on the lamb, and eventually gets captured and imprisoned in the glacier palace. 

so this is where the residual effects of the scar start coming in. keldeo’s stuck in the glacier palace, in isolation, left to think about the letter he’s sent to virizion, and falling victim to the bittercold’s other abilities. and he realizes, at some point, probably from a strange burning feeling, that the original scar he got from touching the bittercold is starting to spread up his arm. 

the more despair and hopelessness he feels, the more the scar spreads. and since he’s wallowing in his own thoughts for however long (and let’s be honest munna probably isn’t doing much for him either), the scar travels up further and further. by the time the paradise squad storms the palace for a second time and umbreon and espeon find keldeo, it’s spread to the left side of his face and blinded him in his left eye. he doesn’t exactly realize what’s happened to him until it’s pointed out — he obviously can’t see anything on his left side, but he doesn’t know why. 

post-gates main storyline, the scar stops spreading for the most part. he doesn’t really want it to spread any further, bc the next thing to go will be his right eye, and that’s really not a good scenario in his opinion! it still aches, especially when he starts feeling guilty (or any other negative emotion, really), and even when he’s not, there still this dull burning feeling in the palm of his hand. he wears gloves and long sleeves to try and hide most of it. (mostly just because he doesn’t really like looking at it).

that’s uh. all ive got for now but im so glad i finally wrote this all out,, im not kidding when i say this had been sitting in my head for months and i finally got the drive to put it all down. yee yee

anyway this isn’t the last im going to be talking about this whole headcanon or keldeo bc he’s one of my favorites and i will make more content for him bc he canonically got peanuts and i am very excited!

Rosa Headcanons 1/??

So, given the latest post, you might have some questions.

Given that Reshiram is hanging out with N and Zekrom is- or rather, was, given that Ghetsis kidnapped him to fuse with Kyurem- hanging out with White in the canon of this blog, Rosa would not have a true relationship with either of those legendaries. Nor would she with Kyurem, since Ghetsis used that ice dragon to nearly murder her. So that got me thinking. What legendary could she count on to match with Black Kyurem, a dreadfully powerful monstrosity?

The Swords of Justice. 

It makes sense, doesn’t it? With the region threatened, she would have tried to garner support from all of the Swords, perhaps even Keldeo, I don’t really know. But with the Three by her side, she might have a chance. It was a tough fight, but she did eventually pull through.

Getting the aid of the Trio wasn’t easy. If Virizion hadn’t vouched for her to the other Two, it very well may not have been possible at all. 

See, Virizion had been watching Rosa for some time. Her connection to nature resonated with the Sword of Grass, and Virizion chose her as her Wielder. 

The Swords of Justice are just that. Swords. They are weapons to defend Pokemon-kind from those that wish to harm them. In the past this power had been wielded to combat human hunters. But now, it would be wielded by a human, fighting humans. Though commanding the Sword in battle was not the only gift given to Rosa as Virizion’s wielder. 

Through their connection, Rosa can gain the stats of the legend and manifest a silver rapier, through which she can perform moves like Sacred Sword and Leaf Blade. She even gets a fancy new outfit. Yes, Rosa is a Magical Girl.

7. What musical instrument do you play? What instrument would you like to learn? I play piano and I sing. I'd like to have a piano so I can practice more but I wanna learn guitar also

I love the story aspect of games and put so much time into my characters I like them to look good

1. What does your name mean? Do you think the meaning is anything like you? Like our usernames? Queen of the Crows is a reference to Clea who takes over the Antivan Crows with Zevran and they do some reforming of the guild. She's one of the leaders so she's the queen of the Antivan Crows, hence queen of the Crows. Is that anything like me? Well I mean she's my OC and I'm alot like her so I would hope to be that badass if I was in Thedas.

2. First celebrity crush? Max Thieriot, he's still good looking too

Virizion had no experience with the human holiday of Valentine’s Day, his previous lover had disregarded the holiday as nonsense as he did with all human traditions. At one time Virizion had agreed with him, but over the years he’d become more forgiving of humans and their holidays. He’d still never participated in this one, he’d never had a reason to beyond an excuse to give a treat to his son.

But then there was Suicune, who was called back by the sound of Keldeo ringing her bell. On the off chance she arrived on such a day, Virizion had put together a sort of bouquet compared to the one flower he’d given before. He was aware that this was a typical gift, only hoping that the fact he’d made them himself would add to the sentiment. There was no denying his fondness for her, one that Keldeo was still oblivious to for now... but acting on it to this degree was going to be new.

Keldeo was about to question his father holding the flowers when she arrived, but he’d become too distracted by her presence. Calling out to her with enthusiasm, while Virizion did his best to simply smile and hope she had returned on good terms. Hope that they hadn’t pulled her away from anything important.

“Hello again, rather fortunate timing for you to arrive today, these only just finished growing.” He speaks, though he knows that’s not completely the reason and wonders if she’s at all aware of that fact. “I hope it’s not too much to say this but... Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Post #3: Sunlight on the Grass. Today, we see Grass combine with White, overlapping with Ground and Fairy archetypes. As I covered in the Fairy post, Whimsicott is a personal favorite of mine. Abomasnow is a little awkward because it really only helps Ice-types, but there a few ways to make it work like Grassy Terrain or Tapu Bulu. The result of getting that interaction online is killing everything with 1-toughness each turn but mostly leaving bigger things intact, which is kind of neat.

Sunflora is useful in either Fighting/Fire+Grass Sunny Day Decks or Ground/Fairy+Grass decks but a little more pointed toward Sunny Day. Virizion usually goes with it, since it is Fighting but doesn’t have Red. Lastly Torterra is perfectly suitable in Gruul, Golgari, or Simic decks but is obviously a powerhouse in Green-White. Bonus: Rototiller is a fun example of a type cooperation spell which is doubly effective on Torterra only!

Leaf Stone: What is your favourite grass type?

Hmm. For favorites I’ll do legendary if it applies and regular. Legendary is Verizon Wireless (Virizion) and Tuxedo Mask (Roserade).

Fairy Tale Girl: What is your favourite fairy type?

Clefable. Anything moon related is my favorite.

Alola: Who were your team members in Pokémon Sun/Moon?

Haven’t actually played yet but I know whenever I do I want Decidueye, Salazzle, Alolan Raichu, Alolan Ninetales, Golisopod, and Pangoro.

Max Repel: Which Pokémon annoyed you so much, that you ended up using a repel?

Fricking Roggenrola and it’s entire evolutionary line. That annoying fucking rock with an asshole for a face would never leave me alone. And it has sturdy which made it even worse.

Completionist: How many times have you completed the Pokédex?

Twice. And it was honestly unintentional both times. I just kind of checked post game and went oh that’s all of them nice.

Hex Maniac: What is your favourite ghost type?

Legendary is Giratina and regular is Chandelure with Mismagius as a close second.

Gym: If you were a gym trainer, what would be your specialist type?

Either psychic or dark since those are my two favorite types. But psychic has more pokemon I actually like to use in battle so probably that. This wasn’t part of the question but I love talking about Pokemon so my team would be:

Espeon, Musharna, Gallade, Malamar, Lunatone, and Metagross

Kanto: What is your favourite gen one Pokémon?

Alakazam. I remember how bad ass Sabrina’s Kadabra was in the anime and always wanted one. Now that I think about it, I’ve never had one in any of the games I’ve played.

Team: What team do you belong to in Pokémon Go?

Mystic. Just because mystic made me think of magic and I love blue.

Gen: Your favourite Pokémon generation?

Probably Gen 4. It’s the gen I can get most of my favorites, plus Cynthia is my favorite champion.

Swimmer: What is your favourite water type?

Legendary is Suicune an regular is Milotic. Feraligatr has a special place in my heart tho cause Heart Gold was the first one I played and I chose it as my starter.

I mean you can’t not pick the iconic original hat, but a second choice would be his Diamond & Pearl hat.

If you couldn’t tell from favorite gen, my fave region is Sinnoh lol.

Froslass but Alolan Ninetales is a close second.

Aesthetically I love Umbreon the most but Espeon is the only one I actually use in my party.

Giratina. It also has my favorite legendary theme.

Ninetales is my favorite fire pokemon aesthetically, but Magmortar is the fire type I’ve used most.

This is always so hard to choose because three different ones always come in mind. But between Giratina, Umbreon, and Absol I’d have to say Absol is my all time favorite.

All the Pokemon I plan to actually use in battle yes. If it’s just me catching something to use it for other purposes I don’t give it a name.

Virizion didn’t say anything one way or another about the visitor to Keldeo, he didn’t want to get his hopes up only for it to turn out that they weren’t there. Not that it particularly mattered, as he was excited anyway and looking all around the road in hopes of finding the mysterious water legendary. They’d passed through the trees to the Moor of Icirrus when she was finally in sight, leaving the previously muddied ground of the moor cleaner than Virizion had ever seen in his life. Not to mention from looks alone, she seemed beautiful.

He could hardly get a word in before Keldeo raced past him to speak to her, splashing the cleaned water as he did. “Hey!! You’re the one that’s been cleaning the rivers right?”

Right to the point he was so curious about as always. Virizion wandered carefully past the trees to stand on dry (or drier at least) ground before speaking to her. “Suicune, is it?” He asked with a smile. “A pleasure to meet you, I am Virizion... and this is my son, Keldeo. Please do pardon us if we’re in your way, we don’t see water legendary pokemon like him very often. He was very determined to meet you before you returned to Johto.”

They’d arrived in Johto yesterday, and crashed at a hotel until morning where the only one who really had endless amounts of energy was Keldeo. He was excited to see his grandfather, meet his great uncle, see his other uncles, meet his second-cousins... it’d be the biggest family reunion he’d ever attended. 

Virizion wished he shared their son’s energy, although he was given more than enough okay from his in-laws beforehand he’d never actually met Lugia before. Admittedly he felt somewhat nervous but, hoped to make a good impression on the extended family that he’d had yet to meet. He’d helped with food for the party/family reunion as Ho-Oh had asked, he really hoped that counted enough for a birthday gift for the two. He hadn’t really had enough time to go searching for the perfect presents for them both.

“Hello all,” Virizion greets them as they walk in. “Hope we’re not too late for the fun?”

Keldeo’s already off and running to give his grandfather and newly met great uncle hugs. Along with proudly holding up a pair of paper cranes colored like their true forms. “Happy Birthday!” He chimes.
