Super!Hero asks Arceus why all the other Heroes had to be human. Couldn't a Pokemon have solved these crises?
And Arceus replies:
"This is humanities' community service. They know what they did."
asdf
community service is a good way to put it

Humans in the PMD setting always interested me. What happened to them? Why are they considered nothing but a fairy tale now? We know they used to exist due to some of the friend areas in Rescue Team. Were they killed by natural disaster? An attack from an unknown assailant? A victim of their own hubris?
Whatever happened to them, do you think any Pokemon partners of human trainers survived? Do you think they passed down human traditions, knowledge, memories? Do you think human languages are still spoken, perhaps altered and evolved in their present form? Are human books still kept in libraries, read to children as bedtime stories?
How are they remembered? As protectors? Weird neighbors of Pokemon, so different yet so similar? Or perhaps, as villains? A force of destruction, only stopped by their own hand?
it really can go in ANY direction and i like pretty much all of them lol
from this is just a different/parallel world where there are none in the pokemon world, to there used to be humans but they all died out one way or another (that alone could go several ways), and then there's whatever ways they could be remembered
just from old buildings/ruins? any books? or any books that pokemon can even read? do pokemon believe different things depending on the area? like they grew up hearing different stories about humans so either they think humans are pretty cool and too bad they're gone now, or wow, humans were awful and am sure glad they're gone

You think the Pokemon that spawn in Mystery Dungeons work similarly to Dark Worlds in Deltarune? Where, technically, these people only started existing a few moments ago, yet there's a predefined history here, memories of things that couldn't have happened due to not existing that long, yet which had happened regardless?
.....i know nothing about deltarune myself, but
i do like that idea for something similar for the pokemon that spawn in mystery dungeons

When I first played the games, I basically ignored the IQ system until right before Darkrai, where I basically stuffed my mouth with all the Gummis I had just stuffed into storage. I was Cyndaquil, so I got the Nonsleeper skill. Darkrai's entire thing was that he puts you to sleep and drains your HP with Nightmares. I couldn't be put to sleep anymore. You can see where this is going.
Cue the fight, I sent Partner to the corner to watch, Cresselia apparently realized I soloed Darkrai and so didn't move at all once the other Pokemon were taken out and just stayed behind me, and me and Darkrai engaged in the silliest slap fight in the history of Pokemon where neither of us could hit the other. I remember having like 1 Reviver Seed going into the fight, and I didn't even end up using it.
oh my god

Some more Darkrai-related stuff with Future Trio (and maybe some darkrai/grovyle implications bc i miss that disaster waiting to happen). Also Steven Universe reference at the end.

Athena doodle page!!!! for the people. and also as another commission example lol. i do doodle pages but the prices for those are more complicated depending on the radio of sketchier to more complete pieces and the general composition.
they dont look exactly like this, of course, this was just something made over the course of like 2 different headaches to exemplify the possibility. details depend and so forth.

and then the fact that iq skills range from extremely basic ai capabilities (trap avoider, use supereffective moves, don't use status moves when they won't do anything, avoid lava) to kind of useless (wary fighter, exp go-getter, extra striker, house avoider, stair sensor half the time) to BUSTED (all-terrain hiker, multitalent, no-charger, intimidator). and they're all divided by species in pmd explorers to an insane extent including several really good skills that are exclusive to like. 3 legendaries at insanely high iq levels. who did this. why are so many skills basically unavailable to starters
i have a lot of questions about the IQ system lol
why everything

The IQ system is so funny to me. Ah yes, I got reincarnated as a Pokemon, and have subsequently been diagnosed with Zero Star IQ disease. Time to drink Gummi Smoothies about it.
they could've called it anything else, but it's IQ
and you eat gummis or use gummis to make shakes
to raise your IQ
why not just "skill" or something along those lines??

I was thinking about Mystery Dungeons, how they work and how they appear, when I thought... the mainline games kind of have Mystery Dungeons? The Raid Dens in Sword and Shield and the Tera Raids in Scarlet and Violet are kinda like one-room dungeons, with the random Pokemon and items that just... appear from seemingly thin-air, like in Mystery Dungeons. Dynamax Adventures in Sword and Shield's DLC are even more so, being more-so like actual dungeons.
They aren't exactly alike, but I kinda like it as an in-universe explanation for these things.
....i didn't think about that, but that's true lol
those specific areas in those games could be seen as dungeons/one-room dungeons
where the heck are you exactly when going in there?? you could say it's a
mystery

aPtT UPDATE Chapter 27
it's interesting to me to think about how the real Lulu acts compared to how she acted before. she hasn't been truly "herself" for like 2 years since she moved into town, and honestly even before then she acted very fake to get her way. the "real Lulu" hasn't seen the light of day for this long before. her outburst and therapy sessions caused this 180 and even she herself is questioning who she really is. her sense of self has gone upside down into a tangled mess that she now has to deal with

First real attempt at making a comic, hope things are legible! Still trying to find a format I like when it comes to making things like these 'cause I really want to make more of them soon. If anyone has any tips lemme know!
This is how I like to imagine a portion of the conversation the partner has with grovyle shortly after returning to the past.
