to this day we still don't really have a proper quadrupedal tiger pokemon. pretty much every pokemon is either anthropomorphic (like incineroar) or a hybrid with another type of cat. also they're so round.. just look at them. and the worst part is. they were cut TWICE.. they were most famously cut from gold and silver when the spaceworld demo leaked several years back, but a somewhat more recent leak shows that they were planned for red and green too, at some point. since then, this evolutionary line has never come back, and with the shinx line filling the "electric type feline" niche, i fear we will never see them make an official debut…

Here's my first post! I have a head canon that his real name is Virgilus, so here<3

Headcanon that Virgil didn't actually have a name when he was with the Dark Sides.

Remus, being Dark Creativity, had changed his name to something symbolic after catching wind of Light Creativity's name. Plus, Dark Creativity was a bit of a mouthful.

Janus, though reluctant in whom to give his name out to, had first decided on his name after Thomas had read the Percy Jackson (namely the Heroes of Olympus) books. Remus and Virgil would call him this -- or variations -- up until Virgil left. Then, Janus was only Deceit to him.

Virgil didn't like change, sure the two found mountains of nicknames to use, only using Anxiety when they were being absolutely serious (even then, when was Remus ever serious?), but nicknames weren't official.

However, when they -- the Light Sides and Thomas -- asked for his name, his true name, he realized that the name 'Anxiety' bound him to who he used to be and who he had associated with. So, while stalling them with quips and scoffs, he spent hours googling names and their meanings. He'd attempted several different names in the process, none of them quite as euphoric as Virgil. The name was of a Roman poet -- the subtle link served as a reminder of his past, he would claim rather than admitting he missed what used to be.

His name on the tongues of his famILY made him giddy. That feeling remained months and even years later. Who knew being called the right name could feel so nice? His name in the mouth of someone as sly as Janus, however, made him seize up. When Janus first used Virgil's name, he froze, nausea eating at the inside of his stomach. His skin felt sweaty and dirty and hot and icky. Sides, being figments of Thomas' imagination, didn't need to sleep or exercise or do bodily functions. But you can bet that Virgil scrubbed his skin squeaky clean after that.

Following this train of thought, Janus taunting Virgil about his name in SvS could have a double meaning. As we know it's likely about Virgil being a Dark Side (though I'd like it if Janus was really talking about Virgil's previous name being Virgilus), it could also be bitterness that Virgil never told Janus and Remus about his name, resulting in Janus taunting him about Virgil being reluctant to tell anyone his name.

So we all know that Virgil is associated with spiders and most the sides have names associated with people from Ancient Rome?

Well,if you read the images,I’m sure you know where this is going

We all know both Remus and Janus end with ‘us’,and Patton pointed out once Virgil revealed his name even before Deceit showed up that it was weird his name wasn’t like any of the lightsides. And fans have pointed out it’s weird his name isn’t like the darksides, but it is.

Because his name is Virgilus/Vergilius. Janus said in SVS that Virgil was a liar and mentioned him holding back his name, Virgil got VERY defensive but we assumed it was about him being a Darkside,but it’s not necessarily about that.

It’s more so the fact that his name could lead them to think he’s a Darkside because it’s similar to the other darksides (this was before it was revealed).

However this part of the theory is shaky because they didn’t know Janus’ name yet,

but you know who probably did know a darkside’s name? Roman. Why a Roman you might ask? Well, maybe it’s because his own brother is a Darkside, and I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to think Roman would know his own brother’s name.

In conclusion, Anxiety’s nickname is Virgil and Virge,but his full name is Virgilus,Vergilius. He probably goes by Virgil instead so he isnt associated with the darksides, and he isn’t included in the lightsides in the newest thumbnail, so he’s probably some sort of in-between.

It still mildly bothers me that people don’t think Virgil’s name is actually Virgilus because a) fits with Roman and Greek themes like where every other name came from b) y’all “us” ends all the dark sides names c) by dropping the “us” he’s no longer a bad side, he’s a neutral one d) after the person he was most likely named after (Virgil or Vergil, depending on the spelling you go by, a famous poet) who’s full name was actually Virgilius or Vergilius

Ok, so deceit’s name is Janus, duke’s name is Remus, and there’s this theory about Virgil’s real name being Virgilus but he took out the ‘us’ because he left the dark sides. So, every dark side has a name that ends with ‘us’ ... do you think that orange side’s name is gonna be Jesus.

I HAVE MORE THEORIES ON WHY ROMAN IS THE NEXT DARK SIDE

When red fades, it can turn into a brassy orange colour

When you fall into a depressive state, you’re creativity is totally blocked

The story isn’t of Roman and Remus, it’s of Remus and Romulus

The light sides names end in “on/an”. The dark sides names end in “us”; Remus, Janus, and Virgilus! (The Roman poet shortened his name to Virgil)

Roman, adding an “us” to the end, comes out pretty fackin close to Romulus.

Virgilus took it upon himself to take over seeing that the royal court and family were all pathetic. Janus simply watched as he and a royal guard by the name of Remus who, despite his extremely odd behavior, was a genius strategist danced around eachother with an odd feeling in his chest (3/?)
