Thanks very much for explaining that so thoroughly. What really got to me was what you said about a White person being able to "take it off." Also, I had no idea about Gwen Stefani's "Harajuku Girls." You're always very insightful and I enjoy reading your posts, as well as keeping track of your pregnancy (my apologies if that sounds creepy - I'm 18 and seeing your updates makes me wonder about bearing children of my own someday). Thanks again for helping me understand better - take care!

You're welcome--I'm glad that you found this helpful, and I appreciate that you asked about it.  Having to explain this stuff in a setting where I don't get to assign grades is probably the best practice for teaching it.

And I'm just glad some people do enjoy reading about the pregnancy stuff, because I'm sure others don't. :p It's very odd to me that up until I was about 23, at least, getting pregnant seemed like the worst possible thing that could happen to me, and then it started to seem like something that I would probably want to do in the not-too-distant future, and then at like age 28, I suddenly desperately wanted to be pregnant IMMEDIATELY.  And I'm glad that I was able to get pregnant, and I'm looking forward to having this baby, but wow, it is still pretty weird.

French dip sandwich with fresh cut fries tonight! The beef is tri-tip that was seasoned with rosemary powder, salt and pepper then added to a pan of beef broth, yellow onion, garlic, worcestershire sauce and a bay leaf. I cooked it on the egg until the internal temp hit 175. After the beef rested I sliced it thin with a meat slicer. The sandwich was made on a toasted french roll and topped with the onions from the jus and horseradish cheddar cheese. The hand cut fries were seasoned with Wassi’s Market Vintage Sunshine and baked for 20 minutes at 425 then fried.
