What cavernous wonders does this #fairyhill hold? As if by magic alone, through the cracks of the pavement of my front yard, the Black Eyed Susan Vine sprouted. It stretched and twisted it's tendtils like a ballet and before we knew it, formed was this beauty, with yellow flowers perforating the green like lanterns in the night! Each morning, as I go to put out packages and check the mail, or as I water, every time I look out the window, I wind up just staring in wonder! Such enchantment! My Hoya fitchii is blooming! 🌸 I love it! 💚 Yesterday, the flowers weren't open yet and this morning- voila! This plant is from @logeesplants and it came as a 2" plant last year. I have it on my south windowsill and it may be a bit too much sun ☀️as the leaves have a bit of reddish coloring. (Swipe over) I do love the cool veining on the leaves, though. This is a native of the Philippines 🇵🇭 and usually grows as an epiphyte, so make sure it has a well-draining potting medium. Named after Charles Mardsen Fitch, a photographer and plant book author, and the person who discovered this plant. As I was watering my 'Neon' pothos, I noticed that some of the leaves 🌱 were different than others. If you have the 'Neon' pothos, you know it is a solid, vibrant, lime green 💚 (my favorite color!). Yet, this plant comes from the pothos we are all used to, probably the 'Marble Queen' which has the yellow splashes. It may have been hybridized, but more likely, it was a "found" sport. There was a sea of dark green pothos in a growing area and in the midst of those plants was a bright green plant or a few stems that were different than the rest. "One of these things is not like the other." (Are you singing 🎶 the Sesame Street song now?) It was was propagated and now we have this fabulous plant. Sometimes though, the parent plant's characteristics will show up in an occasional leaf. These leaves 🌱 are reverting back to their original lineage. Unless the whole plant starts to change, an occasional leaf is okay.
