VinMary as Kpop Idol Headcanons
Vin Jin would become a well-known rapper (ofc not as famous as Duke 😝)
Mary seems like she'd be a great dancer and singer but dancing is her forte. She can do amazing hiphop, jazz, pole dancing, with a little ballroom and a good amount of contemporary.
Both of them are solo artists but have definitely collabed more than once. They do alot TikTok dance trends too. Its a well-known fact in the industry and to their fans that the two have been friends since a long time.
They've definitely collabed on a track paying homage to their hometown Cheonliang.
Mary goes viral alot for her dancing, one of the most iconic one being a fancam of her pole dancing in one of her songs' choreo.
Vin's rap verses also go viral alot. They are widely used by his fans on IG and TikTok to make those “badass edits for their fav fictional characters”
In the future too, Vin never takes off his glasses (he isn't insecure about them anymore; he just doesn't want them to be the highlight about him). Yet still, there's discussions about his mysterious eyes on websites like TheQoo, Quora, pannchoa, etc.
Everytime he's on an interview or a variety show, the question is brought up to Vin but he always shrugs it off.
Interviewers also try to pry about his eyes from Mary but she always says, “You'd be surprised by how lame they actually are.”
Mary feels like the person who'd write songs about body positivity and learning self-love and healing. She'll be an inspiration to her fans and called an “Unbothered Queen”.
There are times when Mary's hair goes back to its original black color and at such times, fans find it hard to recognize her. This is advantageous to her as she can easily head out without being followed by sasaengs (stalkers).
Mary's fandom is divided into Black Haired Mary stans Vs Blonde Haired Mary stans 😂 Many believe she should've been a natural blonde.
Vin's fans would be more interested in (and dare I say: thirst over) his muscular physique. He's been offered several sponsorships for sports modeling as well as underwear brands.
There's an interview Mary absolutely despises, where the interviewer asked Vin about his physique. Vin laughed (like the idiot he is) and said, “This is nothing. You should've seen me at my prime 😌”
One time some antis find out and spread pics of Vin Jin from highschool, sharing with the world how he used to be a bully, the famous rapper Duke being one of his major victims.
Soon there's videos and posts on sites like reddit and pannchoa, discussing the controversial matter. Many fans of Duke start speculating if some of his diss tracks are about bullying he suffered from Vin.
Media outlets try to reach out to Duke for a comment on the matter but he is respectful enough to not say anything.
Media also tries to get to Mary but this isn't something she can or wants to defend her friend for. She says, “I have no right to speak on this matter.”
Finally after lots of thinking and talking it over with Mary, Vin decides to meet Duke in person and properly apologize.
Surprisingly Duke simply smiles at him and accepts his apology. BUT HE DOESN'T FORGIVE VIN. (If you are mature enough and choose to apologize to your victim, then good for you. But your victim is NOT OBLIGATED to forgive you.)
Forgiveness is far from Vin's reach for now but inspite of that Duke suggests a collab between the two. Vin agrees.
The collab is very well-received by both of their fans and the next time Vin is asked about the bullying allegations, he admits to them being true but also officially informs the world, “I have felt sorry for my actions and apologised to Duke. But forgiving me is upto him. For now, I'm satisfied with the truce we've made through our song.”
i think these are enough for now, hope y'all like them ♡

Vin Jin x Reader: Eyelash
G/N. Soft.
"Stop rubbing your eyes,"
"Piss off, it's itchy," Vin spits in your direction, never taking pause.
Which would be fine if he hasn't been excessively scrubbing at them for the last five minutes. It's distracting. Not to mention gross. The weird squelch of the eyeball and him grunting in annoyance.
With a sigh, you approach him. Standing almost chest to chest, you stretch up on your tiptoes, "Let me look."
Absolutely not, Vin thinks. He hasn't let anyone this close since... ever. At least not willingly. Just because you've seen his eyes bared and naked doesn't mean he still doesn't feel vulnerable around you.
Undeterred by his silence, you continue to badger him. "Hey,"
"..." Rub rub rub.
"Cmon."
"..." Rub rub rub.
"Might be an eyelash, some dirt, some dust. "
"..." Rub rub rub.
"Will you just let me-"
Goddamn you're annoying, "Fine!" Rub rub-
You hold onto his elbow, stopping him mid motion, and Vin positively growls at you. Sunglasses on askew, his left offending eye and twin pupils, peeking out over the top.
It's bloodshot to fuck. Rubbed red raw. Honestly, that stubborn asshole.
"Come here," you navigate him closer to the window and take advantage of the midday sun as he complains about you manhandling him. (Though you silently note he makes no effort to free himself from your grasp.)
"Stand still," you command and you remove his sunglasses. You're just about to tease him for how obedient and docile he is, when you notice his jaws clenched and hands fisted. Like a cornered animal.
You change your tune.
"I'll be quick," you tell Vin, giving him a small smile and he gives you an even smaller nod.
True to your word, your fingers are swift. Gently pulling at his lower and upper lid, you peer this way and that into his eye.
"Can you-" You begin to ask, but Vin anticipates your question. Leaning down until he's at your eye level.
It feels humiliating, or at least it should. Having you this close, staring directly into the eye that made him feel like a monster all his life. Except your hands are tender and your smile is kind and instead of looking away ashamed, he can't help but watch you intently.
His usual demeanour is nowhere to be found. No biting words on his tongue, no sneer on his lips, no disdain on his face. He's captivated.
"It looks fine but," you murmur, picking something off his face. With a grin, you hold it to his mouth, "Make a wish-"
Vin peers down at your finger.
An eyelash.
"Idiot," he says without heat. Regardless, he still wishes. The same thing he has been hoping for more and more these days, and blows the eyelash away.
"Is your eye still annoying you?"
Vin doesn't know what to do with your concern and sincerity, choosing instead to default to how he always is. "You're annoying me," he teases, earning him a rough shove.
"Get your hands off me you hag!"
"You ungrateful asshole!"
As if on autopilot, your conversation once again devolves into bickering and snipes. All you can think about, however, was the proximity mere moments ago. The closeness to his face, the way he watched you, and his pupils blown wide.
And all Vin can think about is how childish his wishes used to be. Foolish and impossible, hoping to be normal. Futile. Desperate.
But now, something else he wants, someone, finally feels within reach.

Lost Cause.
Pairing: Vasco/Euntae Lee x F!Reader
Summary: Dense Vasco. That's it.
Genre/Trope: Comedy, fluff, slow fucking burn, hopeless romantic x oblivious.
Details: 1.6k words, non established relationship/crush, tomboy!reader, reader are childhood friends with Mary and Vin Jin.
A/n: That one blogger was right. Vasco not getting a oneshot is a crime. I hope this answer anyone's prayer. As always I don't do requests.
Masterlist
“What do you want?” Jace crossed his arms over his chest, blocking your path. You scoffed, “Out of the way, monkey. I need to talk to Vasco.” You simply pushed his big head out of the way as he yelped. “Hey!” As you marched forward he follows behind. “Stop! In the name of justice!”
Ignoring him, you keep a calming pace towards the leader of Burn Knuckles with Jace still hot on your tail. “Oi! What business to you have with him?” Again you spare no reply. “What's that on your hand? Show me!”
“Jace!” Mary emerged in front of him. Giving him a good view of her 'mountains'. He clicked his tongue in frustration, “Not now, Mary. I'm busy.” “I know. We can be busy together.” She grinned, playfully pulling on his ear while giving you a knowing side glance. Allowing you to continue your objective.
You approached Vasco, slowly pulling out the item from your back.
“Vasco! Look out!” Jace warned as he slid to the side from Mary and leaped forward. Your eyes widened at the sudden attack, causing you to miss your footing. The box opened on its own mid air cinematically in slow motion over Vasco's face.
Pause. So Let's recap.
You have a crush Vasco. It just came over you. It's a silly crush, you thought to yourself. It's a never ending phase, though the sooner you start to realise that you're actually turning whipped for this buffoon. You told no one at first, thinking it's a piece of cake to confess your feelings by asking him to a simple hangout. But to your utter disappointment, you often stammer your ass out and shift on your spot like an idiot. Deciding that it's officially an issue you need to overcome, you went to your best friends for help.
You learnt two things that day. One, never talk about your feelings. Two, never talk about your feelings to Vin Jin. Because you can always guarantee another two things to happen from him if you do. That is he will laugh right at your face and mock you after. Stuff like quote unquote “killing two birds with one stone”. But no, this is killing one bird with two stones.
To be fair you blamed it on yourself. You should know his antics by now and in the end you pay the prize. You hardly took it personally. At first. Other side of you thought he was right. You, having a crush on the Burn Knuckle’s leader? That airhead out of all people. Vin Jin’s word, not yours. Mary was considerate enough to beat his ass as for you. But you don't deny the fact. Crushes are stupid. However, the constant teasing never goes unpunished by you because it's starting to actually get on your fucking nerves.
Your fist left a transparent smoke after feeding Vin one of your tasty punches as he lays there flat on his back. His face left a visible outline of your knuckles.
Mary crouched down, “Wow, that's gotta leave a mark.”
“No shit.” Vin choked. “What the hell? Are you on your period or somethin’?”
You sneered, slowing the smoke off your fist. “Nah. You got a bug on your face.” Vin scoffed back. Immediately after that Mary turned to you. “So any luck with your future husband?”
At the mention of the topic your shoulders slumped, “No…” Mary stood back up, now facing you. “Why? Just tell him right to his face. What's the worst gonna happen?” Before you could even answer, she clinged her arm around yours, “C’mon, let's go! I wanna see Jace.” and dragged you away from the classroom, leaving Vin behind. “Oi.”
“Can you quit it?” Jace sighed but took no action regarding Mary pulling with his huge ears. “Nah.”
Meanwhile, you are gaining your courage for your operation to confess your feelings to Vasco. He was first to greet you, pausing his dumbbells mid air like they weight nothing. “Hey, (Name).”
“Hey.” You said casually. “What's up?” or better yet awkwardly. You hardly remember the rest of the conversation after that. Three easy words, that's it. That's literally it. Yet it felt harder than pulling your punches.
“(Name) like Vasco?” Mary nodded. Jace added, “Damn.”
You cleared your throat, “Listen, I got something to tell you. It's important. Sort of.”
He sets down the dumbbells, now fully have his attention on yours, “What is it?”
At the same time Jace and Mary continue to observe both of you.
“She gonna say it? She better said it. How hard can it be?” All the sudden Jace seem to root for you.
“Listen.” You exhaled, fisted formed on your sides. “I…I like you.”
Vasco pulled a small grin, “Really? Ah, that's good. I like you too.”
“R-really?”
He nodded, “Of course. Why wouldn't I? We're friends aren't we?”
We're friends aren't we?
Friends aren't we?
Friends we.
Friends.
Both Mary and Jace winced. The word seems to echo even they can feel it.
It was until then the news spread quickly to Vin’s ear. He bursted into laughter while pointing at you. “No fucking way! He fucking said that?!”
You and Mary immediately shut him the fuck up with your own fists.
You sulked in the corner as Mary sighed, “Well, that's that. He's a lost cause.”
“That's not his fault! He's just slow.” You bit your knuckles, crying comically. You then stop abruptly once an idea hits you. “I know! I'mma just dress it.”
She cocked her brow, “Dress what?” You pulled a condescending grin, “Dress to impress that's what.”
Shrugging to your idea, you later found yourself wearing a decent attire with a bouquet of flowers in your hand. Only for your knees to tremble out of nervousness. Again.
“You suck, (Name).” Mary deadpanned.
“Don't I know that already?!” You barked. You inhaled then stood up straight. “I can do this!”
“You can do this!” She cheered, raising one leg up.
Again you found yourself pacing away from the reserved place to meet Vasco. “I can't do this.” “Hey!” Mary exclaimed. This time she didn't follow you. Vin joined her, “Well that's a bummer- ugh!” He clenched his gut at Mary's brief elbow blow.
Your snickers scratched lazily on the concrete. You tossed the bouquet into the nearest trash bin. Your mind starts to pondered the irony of the male species' difficulty to ask a woman out. Even to spare even the smallest amount of their confession and it baffles you greatly. You know that this isn't your first rodeo. Even in elementary and middle school you failed the subject of love. You tried. You really tried. But they often claimed you as scary or that ‘girls can't act like boys, it's unattractive’. And although those words seem to do a number on you, it wasn't enough to change you entirely. Instead you embraced it and endure your crushes in silence.
You groaned and yelled to the sky, “All this because I like a fucking boy!!”
The birds gawked upon you, basically mocking you.
“Shut up!” You barked back, sitting down on one of the swings. Your shoulder slumped once more before you started swinging slowly.
“(Name)!”
You almost fly from your seat by the booming voice. You turned over your shoulder. “V-Vasco! Hey, man. My dude.” You stood up, clearing your throat and shoot him finger guns. “What...are you doing here?”
“I came to see you.” Vasco scratched his head and handed you a small card. “You dropped this. It has your name on it.”
You took it from him and read it through. You froze once you realise this is your card that comes with the flowers that you planned to give it to him. You decided to just brush it off subtly while trying to hide your disappointment, “Oh thanks. Nearly lost this…”
“Glad to help. Don't want that person to think it's from anyone else but you.” You couldn't help but smile at his words. You love that he's considerate. The size of his golden heart is what makes you fall for him. Too bad he's just too dense to see it. And come to think of it, maybe it wasn't too bad. You are grateful enough to be able to stand this close to talk to him. It was better to just shoot your shot and go the flow.
“Hey.” You started, more loosely this time. “Are you hungry? Maybe you and I can hit the ramen shop like right now? My treat.”
He blinked before beaming with joy at the mention of food. “Would I?”
Now that part settles it, you can now confirm that you and Vasco…are no close to being a couple, sadly. But you actually didn't complain. Although shutting Vin up is a hassle, you still get to see Vasco more often. Giving him your homemade goods is one of them.
“Vasco! Look out!” Jace warned as he slid to the side from Mary and leaped forward. Your eyes widened at the sudden attack, causing you to miss your footing. The box opened on its own mid air cinematically as they fell right on Vasco's face.
“Shit! Vasco!” Jace stood back up, you followed suit, pushing pass him with roughly.
“Vasco! I am so sorry!” You carefully pulled the tupperware off Vasco’s face to see how much damage have you done.
And to your relieve, barely.
“Mm! Strawberry. Did you make these?” Vasco licked the cream cake from his cheek.
You blinked twice before nodding, “Uh, yeah. Of course. Sorry about that." You reached for your handkerchief to wipe the mess off of him.
Jace watched in disbelief. “What? It's not a bomb?” Your neck cracked, turning to give Jace a death glare, veins popping on your forehead. “Bomb? What expired milk did you drink today?”
“Do you have more?” Vasco licked his finger.
You turn back with a happy grin, “Of course! I'll go get it right now.” You sprint away from the scene, not forgetting to give Jace a threatening gaze as he shivers with fear.
During lunch break Vasco devour your desserts like a starving man. Jace watched with anticipation as he spoke, “You know (Name) likes you right?”
Vasco nodded with mouthful, “Yeah! I like her too.”
“No, as in she like like you. She has a romantic crush on you, Vasco.” Jace corrected himself. Vasco paused mid chew as he processed the news.
“Huh?!” Food spat out of his mouth.

"Call me a good boy."
Said Jake kim, putting your hand on his hair.
His hair is majestic, he had recently got it cut. You styled it for him. Its silky smooth and soft!
Nothing's hotter than a man who takes care of himself, you think to yourself.
His head is on your thighs, you can feel his breathing on your thighs.
You play with his hair, for a long time chatting with him.
There's a loud sound of thunder, and the lights go out.
"Its okay, I'm here. Dont you get scared now." The tall and dark figure with the sexiest voice, gets up from your thighs.
He pulls you into a hug, he's taller than you. Your head thuds, with his soft chest. You've always been scared of the dark since childhood.
It starts raining, the only light is coming from the cackling fireplace beside your bed. There are two mugs of hot chocolate on the table.
You hear his heartbeat going crazy. Even after all these years...

Vin Jin x Reader: Teeth (feat Mary)
Spoiler - Post 1A. G/N. Vin gets new teeth. Vin and Mary up to their usual BS.
"You're still as ugly as ever,"
"Who asked you, hag?"
Angling his head, Vin effortlessly dodges a textbook flung his way. Mary mutters sourly under her breath.
Vin sucks at his new front teeth. Alternates between that and smacking his tongue against them while staring into his phone camera. Has done so for the umpteenth time in the last ten minutes.
"Cut that out!" Mary snaps.
She has tried to be understanding, tried to be a good friend. Even having his teeth knocked out, bodied and bloodied by-
(Mary blocks out his name, his face, his existence. Pushes it to the back of her mind. If she thinks about it, dwells on it, she fears she will lose what is left of her humanity.)
His ego, at least about his appearance, has suffered no damage.
Vin Jin is still unbearable.
He poses, sucking in his cheeks, giving what he must think is a charming toothy smile. Watching him check himself out like a preening baboon makes Mary want to pluck her own eyes out.
"Y/N can't possibly love you for your looks," Mary scoffs, then pauses. Reconsidering, "But you're an asshole too. Why are they with you again?"
"Big dick-"
This time, the textbook connects. Hits him square in the side of the head. With a resounding smack! and such force that Vin topples out of his chair and into a heap onto the floor.
"You bitch!"
Bzzzzt!
Ignoring the stream of filth leaving his mouth, Mary checks out her latest notification. You messaged to say you're close by, and you're excited to see your boyfriend again if the amount of emojis and exclamation marks are anything to go by.
"Y/N is here soon," she cuts him off and Vin shuts up immediately.
"Cool," he says, aiming for nonchalance, dusting himself off and looking into the camera once more.
For the first time, Mary notices a tightness in his eyes. Self consciousness at his swollen mouth and shiny new teeth. You haven't seen him since he has been back and had dental surgery. Vin's mouth is still swollen, remnants of bruising remain.
He hasn't been this insecure since before he first revealed his eyes to you.
Mary sighs, tosses him a bone. "You look fine, idiot. They'll just be happy to see you."
"I look great and of course they'll be happy to see me. Who isn't?" Vin's arrogance surfaces and she wishes she never said anything to soothe his overinflated ego-
But then he softens, like he always does when you're involved, and Mary's irritation washes away with it.
"I'm happy to see them too."

Jake kim x Reader
Its a chilly december night in Tokyo, the city is lit up, you can see the Tokyo Tower and cafes and restaurants around you. Its beautiful....
But whats mors beautiful is the tall man walking beside you on the streets of Tokyo holding hands, giggling and laughing.
You can see each others breaths in the air, you know its cold.
You shiver. Jake Kim offers you his sweater, yes the man beside you is Jake kim. The Jake Kim. Korean mob boss. From Big deal.
You've always wanted to see Tokyo, roam around in the night.
Jake hands you his sweater
"Go on wear it." He looks away blushing.
His voice is so deep, you think to yourself. You get butterflies in your stomach. You put on the sweater, its fragnance is like him.
Its warm and cozy.
"What about you? Won't you get cold?" You ask worried.
He looks at you and says ,
"Bah me? I dont feel cold."
You smile knowing its a lie.
"So where do you want to go, my fair lady?" He says with an elegant accent, holding out an arm for you. He's been learning english for you.
You smile and look at him giggling and say,
"Cute".
He gets totally red in the face, blushing to the roots of his hair, looking away.
You love this cute side of him. You just wanna tackle him with a bear hug.
"You blushed"
"No I didn't."
"Yes, you did."
The season's first snow starts falling, a snowflake lands on your nose. He looks at you, gets in front of you,
"Hey there's somthing on your face."
He gets too close to your face, you can feel his warmth around you.
His big palms reach around your cheeks and they grab you, they're so warm.
You melt on the spot. He grabs the snowflake, its your turn to blush.
He kissses your forehead and says
"You are blushing."
"No I'm not." You reply.
Knowing that its a lie.

Time of the Month
[Read on AO3]
3 times Vin tries to deal with (take care of) Mary during her periods
+1 time Mary returns the gesture
*set somewhere during the Hostel Arc when even Logan Lee was still in J High*
»» Mary's behavior during her periods is based on me and my friends' actual menstruation experiences 😆
1
Vin Jin leaned against the wall opposite the Architecture Department's entrance, sourly watching his long-time friend Mary Kim wait for one Jace Park. Normally he would've opted to stay miles away from those brightly dressed, orange bunch better known as the ‘Burn Knuckles’ but today was different.
A couple of passing students did glance his way curiously but expressed nothing more in fear. Even Logan Lee raised a brow before shrugging and walking past with his obedient herd of otaku classmates. Vin Jin, however, was too occupied watching over his friend to give a fuck.
With all the years he'd known her, he had come to spot the slightest changes in Mary's day-to-day behavior. And if the faintly visible dark circles under her eyes or her extra cranky mood since morning weren't enough of an indication, then her taking a painkiller after breakfast confirmed it all.
She was on her period. And even though he'll never know exactly what she goes through during that time of the month, he had dealt with enough of her mood swings to know it wasn't easy for her.
So he waited patiently for her to get over whatever business she had with Jace Park. Fortunately, the man showed up at that very moment, eyes fixated on his cellphone's screen.
Mary took the initiative and greeted him cheerfully, to which Jace finally looked up and smiled amiably at her.
Now Vin wasn't close enough to hear the following words that were exchanged between the two. And his seven shades darker sunglasses didn't allow him much sight either. But when his friend turned around, he immediately took note of her glassy eyes brimming with tears.
Instinctively, he cracked his knuckles and clenched his fists.
What did that asshole say to ruin her smile? Did the idiot decline her innocent date invitation? Or did he make some obscene comment about her? But Jace Park wasn't like that, was he? He had been nice to Mary on every encounter, right?
So then..why was his friend suddenly so upset and biting her lip to keep herself from crying?
Ah whatever! He rolled up his sleeves furiously. Mary didn't stand here for so long, enduring her abdominal cramps and aching thighs to be treated so harshly by some prick at high school. She didn't deserve any of this.
“Oi moron!” Shoving himself off the wall, Vin walked towards Mary and yelled. “The fuck did you say to her!?”
Jace sheepishly held up his arms. But before he could utter a word in his defense, Mary cut in.
“He isn't..” She sobbed, a tear rolling down her cheek. “..he isn't letting me touch his ears!!”
Vin paused upon hearing that, barely managing to pull back a punch aimed at Jace.
He felt the rage within him simmering down until even the last traces of it evaporated away. He awkwardly looked between his long-time friend and the second in command of Burn Knuckles. Was he supposed to punch Jace Park over something as silly as this?
He averted his gaze back to Mary, who was staring at him expectantly. For what? Did she– the one who always tried to stop him– actually want him to pick a fight for her?
Girls and their stupid mood swings.
Instead, he scoffed and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “Never mind, let's go.”
“Huhh?? But I wanna touch his ears!” She whined, trying to get his arms off her.
He tightened his hold around her and shook his head in disbelief. Normally he would've beat the shit out of anyone at Jaewon High for free. But today wasn't just another typical day amongst these Seoul bastards.
“Fuck you, Jace Park.” Vin flashed the guy a middle finger and tugged Mary in the direction of the Vocal and Dance Department.
From his pocket, he rummaged out a pack of her favorite chocolate bar. Over the years he had seen her weep and laugh over the most trivial of things when on her period. As such, he had enough experience with her abrupt shift in emotions.
“Eat up.” He said, offering the chocolate to her.
She looked at him, watery eyes shining with a hint of surprise. Then, wiping the tears messily with the back of her palm, she smiled and accepted the sweet. “Thank you, Vin.”
2
Mary had absolutely lost her mind.
Vin narrowed his brows at her from across the aisle with stationary materials. Not that his glasses would actually alert her of the annoyance searing in his eyes.
Their classes were over but instead of heading home, she insisted on buying some spicy snacks because of her food cravings. And she had sworn that she wouldn't dawdle around the convenience store. Yet here they were, a pack of stickers held in her hand. An item clearly of no use to her or her periods.
He sighed in frustration. “We're not buying that.”
She frowned at his declaration. “But I want them.”
“No, you don't.”
“You can't boss me around.”
“Yeah man,” a third voice butt in and Vin momentarily switched his gaze to its owner— a young, brown-haired guy not much older than himself.
The brunette approached Mary from behind, two other guys at his sides. “Don't tell her what to do.” He said in a teasing tone, putting an arm around Mary.
As expected, Mary immediately slapped the arm away. “Mind your hands, punk.”
“Now, now, I'm on your side here.” The guy said.
“Huh!?” Mary raised a brow in disgust. “And who asked you to speak between me and my friend?”
“You could be a little nice, you know.” The guy grumbled, roughly shoving Mary into the aisle.
And in that very moment, Vin's lips turned down and he moved. Not to beat the asshole senseless but to keep Mary from doing so herself. She was quite a piece during her time of the month. Scarier (if that was even possible) and far more reckless than himself. She'd pick a fight as quickly as she'd cry over the dumbest of things. She could easily beat those guys to a pulp and it'd be entertaining as hell to watch. So if they had any shred of self-respect, they'd stop and escape while they still could.
Unfortunately, they'd lost that chance the moment the smartass brunette had tried to put an arm around her. Thus, left with no other choice, Vin grabbed her by the wrist and tugged her along, out of the shop.
“Oi!” She yelled, trying to yank her wrist free. “I'm not done buying my stuff! And I'm definitely not done with those bastards!”
“Nope! We're leaving!”
“Fuck you!” She snatched her hand from his grip and stomped towards the three boys, who looked utterly baffled and terrified. And for the first time, Vin realized what Mary must've felt like, trying to keep him from getting into unnecessary trouble all these years. Best to avoid that kind of attention.
So before she could start anything, Vin snaked an arm around her waist and hauled her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. He then proceeded to walk out, ignoring every onlooker's curious gaze.
“Put me down!” Mary ordered.
He kept walking.
“I'll kill you!” She threatened, vehemently kicking and punching under his iron grip.
“I know.”

Back at their shared apartment, Mary went to take a hot bath only after narrating the gory details of how she'll murder him if he ever gets between her and her shopping. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't a little scared.
Thankfully, the bath seemed to have lightened her mood. She agreed to forgive him in exchange for one of his t-shirts, which she wore over her boxer shorts because apparently, his clothes were "far more comfortable to be in".
She was currently slumped across the couch, sipping herbal tea as she watched some cheesy, romance drama with the weariest expression on her face. The ache in her legs must be draining her.
“Go to sleep.” He said, flopping beside her on the couch.
“Can't.” She didn't even look up when she responded in a tone as dead as her demeanor. “The pain won't let me.”
He knew she'd say that. Every month she cried about how she wanted to sleep and get the rest her body needed. But her legs (especially thighs) throbbed so much with pain that it was impossible to even relax.
“Your..legs..” He scratched his neck as he spoke. “I can massage them.”
She peered at him from her mug of tea, dull eyes sparkling at his offer. “Really?”
Before he could respond, the mug clattered noisily with the coffee table and she put her head on the armrest of the couch as she laid down, legs now resting over his knees.
Vin scoffed at her eagerness but began to slowly trace his palms over her right leg. Gently he pressed his thumbs, from her feet to the ankle, easing the knots of stress there. Her eyes instantly rolled shut in contentment. His palms traced further up, fingers kneading into the taut muscles of her shin to her calf.
He repeated the movements several times. Then did the same for her other leg. The warmth of her skin tingled his own as he reached higher up to her thigh and began massaging the supple skin.
A faint, throaty sound escaped her lips.
Vin froze.
To his utter disbelief when he sneaked a glance her way, her eyes were still shut peacefully as if she hadn't just moaned at her thigh being massaged. So he tried to be just as unbothered, shrugged away his initial shock, and continued.
This time she breathed heavily. Then let out another moan. Only this one began as sultry but ended up way more exaggerated and an octave higher.
Vin's lips pressed together into a tight smile in realization. Then he pinched her thigh. “Stop messing with me, you bitch!”
He saw Mary's entire face twitch uneasily, lips trying their best to not move. But in the end, she burst out cackling, teardrops of joy brimming the corners of her eyes.
“You should've seen your face!” She laughed harder.
He pinched her thigh again, knowing it must be hurting her but he didn't care at the moment. She deserved it for the deliberately obscene sounds she let out, fully aware of how thin the cheap walls of their apartment were. And how easy it would be for their neighbors to hear them and get the wrong ideas.
“You want this massage or not!?” He gritted out.
“Yes please~” She murmured in a suggestive tone.
“I swear I'll toss you off the couch!”
“Okay! Okay! I'll stop!” She responded between barely-contained chuckles.
Vin groaned in frustration as he resumed massaging her legs, wishing for her periods to end this instant.
+1
Mary watched the male lead kiss the female lead passionately. But it was barely the 6th episode. It signified that this kiss meant nothing and that there was still 10 episodes worth of drama before they got their happy ending.
“I should ask Jace Park for a kiss.” Mary yawned and stretched her arms, a devious glint in her tired eyes. “Or maybe I should kiss him myself.”
When there was no response from her friend at the ridiculous idea, she nudged him with her feet– which by the way– were still resting comfortably in his lap. And sadly, he was not massaging them anymore.
“Oi!” she called, raking a leg up his chest to annoy him and catch his attention.
Any other day this action would've been enough to rouse his anger and start a fight. So the lack of any sort of enraged reaction from him made Mary curious. She finally looked away from the drama on the television screen to glance in his direction.
Mary blinked at the sight. Vin was snoring peacefully, head laid back on the backrest of the couch. It wasn't unusual but it was still unbelievable that he had fallen asleep in an uncomfortable sitting position on their small couch.
He would kill her if she ever brought it up but it must've been exhausting to take care of her. Not to mention stressful as hell, considering how whimsical she was during her periods. She felt her lips curving into a warm smile as she noticed the drool over his chin.
Cautiously, she wiggled her legs out of his lap and sat up. Her legs didn't ache as badly as earlier, thanks to her friend's efforts despite her teasing him with overtly provocative sounds.
Vin had grown significantly taller over the years and it wouldn't be as easy to carry him as it had been back in middle school. So getting him into his bed was neither plausible nor any good for her in her present state. She pursed her lips in thought, snapping her fingers as the solution lit up like a bulb in her head. She can simply cover him with a blanket!
She scurried to the bedroom and returned with a blanket large enough for two.
But first…
She picked up her cellphone from the coffee table and unlocked it, scrolling to the camera app. Snickering to herself, she took a bunch of pictures of his drooling face to use as leverage in a future argument. After that, she gently pulled off the sunglasses from his eyes, brushing the stray strands away from his face. Then settled next to him on the couch and pulled the blanket around them.
“Goodnight Vin.” She mumbled, snuggling closer to his side.
This has been in my drafts for 2 months and i finally found the motivation to finish it. Hope guys liked it ♥

26/06/2022: Mary ties Vin's hair into a ponytail
Mary leaves Vin sitting cross-legged at the foot of the couch in their living room.
She returns with a comb and a hand mirror from the bathroom, and plops on top of the couch, legs hanging at either side of his biceps.
“Remind me why we're doing this?” Vin asks, his fingers stroking imaginary patterns on her feet.
“So I can make your unkempt hair a bit more decent and likable.” She replies, examining his neck-length locks from different angles.
“Ugh...Isn't just washing it enough?”
“Absolutely not you idiot!”
First, he suddenly decides to refine his fighting skills. Then disappears for a month into the mountains. And when he finally comes back, his priority isn't even brushing his teeth or getting a haircut. Nope. Instead, he goes and gets himself kidnapped by some jerks who run an underground fighting ring and happen to know about him murdering a guy.
She exhales a breath to clear her head and picks up the comb. Slowly, she runs it through his dark locks, gently smoothing the tangles here and there.
He hums in approval, eyelids drifting shut as he leans back into the couch. “'kay, this is kinda relaxing.”
“Of course it is.”
When satisfied with her combing, she tugs off the hair tie around her wrist and uses it to fasten his hair into a small ponytail.
He grabs the hand mirror from her side and surveys her work. “Not bad.”
“What do you say?” He turns slightly, laying an arm over her knees.
She looks down at him, dark blue pools falling upon his mismatched ones. Despite her efforts to tuck the hair away from his forehead, a few stray strands have managed to escape and frame his face.
Now she may not admit it outright but he does look kinda…cool? Handsome even? She nearly pukes at the thought of using such adjectives to address him of all people.
“Huhh” He drawls out teasingly at her lack of response. “No words?”
She shoves his arm off her knees.
“Ohh no!” He perks up like a child as realization dawns on him. “Can it be– do you actually find me attractive this way?” He inches closer, grinning in amusement. “With my hair tied?”
Mary feels a traitorous blush spreading wildly across her cheeks. She brings up an arm to cover it as she pushes his face away. “Shut up punk!”

Snack & Support
[Read on AO3] When Vin Jin has a nightmare about his awful past in Cheonliang, Mary Kim is there to offer late night snack and emotional support.
I know just as little about Vin Jin's past as any other Lookism reader, so him having nightmares about it in this fic is obviously my own headcanon. Hope you enjoy and leave some comments ♥
Mary's eyes snapped open and she sat up with a start due to the muffled cries that roused her from her sleep. Drowsily she turned on the lamp on the nightstand, shutting her eyes immediately at its sudden dim glow.
After several blinks of adjusting her eyes to the brightness, she finally peered to her right where she spotted her friend's trembling form in an identical bed to hers'. From the soft, pained cries he let out, it was obvious he was having another awful nightmare about the past. Shit!
She threw aside her blanket, smoothened her nightdress, and rushed towards him, immediately noticing the fingers of his left palm clawed around his left eye. Shit! Shit! Shit!
Cautiously, she reached out with her hand and shook him. “Hey–”
“..not..” He cried. “I’m not a monster.”
“HEY!” Mary shook him again.
“I'm not!”
“Hey! Snap out of it!”
“Please don't look!” He whimpered, “I’m not a monster!”
“Vin, wake up! It's not real!” She pleaded.
But he could barely hear a word in his turmoil. His fingers scratched roughly, desperately over the eyelid, as if that might cure his pupils’ condition. She hated that. She hated waking up to the sight of her friend shaken and suffering every night. He might not be the nicest guy– scratch that– he was rotten to the core but he was still her friend and it pained her to see him like that.
She patted his cheek numerous times in hopes of prying him out of the memories that plagued his sleep but to no avail. He didn’t budge. Thus, she was left with no choice but to resort to the least suitable option.
Experience had taught her it wasn’t the most ideal thing to touch his face or hands whenever he was going through these episodes. Not that he had ever harmed her but there was always a minuscule possibility of him accidentally ending up doing so. Still, she braced herself for it. After all, she had trusted him every single night she shared this apartment with him. And she had trusted him every day of their friendship since middle school. So she could undoubtedly trust him now as well— to not hurt her when she merely intended to help.
She took a deep breath to prepare herself before gently gliding her palm down the length of his forearm, stopping at his fingers to entwine them with her own. Then she used all her strength to force his hand away from his eye.
Bad move.
In an instant, she found herself whirled onto the mattress, his arms pinning her wrists at either side of her head. When she looked up, her bewildered eyes met his confused, rare ones. At last, he was wide awake, free from the afflictions of whatever he was dreaming about.
As his mind slowly discerned the surroundings he was in and the person beneath him, his pupils dilated, all three of them. It was strangely fascinating to see them function. Strange. But never disgusting or scary, as people back in Cheonliang had described them on every occasion.
“Mary.” He breathed out.
“Yes,” She said, “Just me.”
“I..I'm..”
“You're okay.”
She easily pried her wrists free from his grasp and put her arms around his broad back, pulling him into an embrace; his arms naturally wrapped around her waist.
“It was just a bad dream.”
He sighed in aggravation and lowered his forehead to rest it against her chest. She could feel his warm breath on her skin as he asked, “Did I..?”
“No, you didn’t hurt me.” She reassured, lifting a hand to gently massage her fingers through his scalp.
She could feel his tense muscles even through his shirt, a clear indication of his fear and anxiety. So she let him stay like that, breathing against her skin, trying to calm his agitated self. It was best to let him relax at his own pace.
Gradually, she felt his muscles slack and his breaths even out. So she tapped his shoulder as an indication for him to move, because whilst their position may have been comforting for him, she sure as hell felt crushed by his weight.
“Oi!” She called but he didn't even budge.
“Oi!” She tried again but the only response she received was a soft, disapproving hum.
“Get off me, you big oaf!”
This time he bunched his fingers tightly onto the satin of her dress, wordlessly expressing he didn’t want to.
Fine then. She hooked her legs around his, jerked his arms away from her waist, and swiftly flipped them over so now she was on top of him. He shouldn’t forget she was the best on their judo team.
“Ouch!” He groaned.
“You seem better now.” She observed.
“Better enough to kick your ass for that.” He grumbled.
She smiled and pulled his cheek. “Get up. I'll cook some ramyeon.”
With that, she got off him and left the room.
Mary tried her best to focus on stirring the boiling broth in front of her instead of the looming presence of her friend standing right behind. Every time he had one of these terrible nightmares, he became more subdued and clingy. A little too clingy.
She handed the chopsticks she was using to him and told him to watch over the ramyeon. But clingy as he was, he turned down the stove's heat to low and followed right at her heels.
He followed her back into the bedroom where she picked up a blanket. He followed her to the living room where she dropped off the said blanket on the couch. And he followed her to the small kitchenette attached to their living room. She wanted to scold him but she understood that he didn't want to be alone at the moment.
She turned off the stove and picked up the pan, carrying the ramyeon as it was towards the living room. They both huddled together on the couch and without even asking, he threw the blanket around their shoulders.
For a while they sat in silence, slurping down the noodles, savoring their midnight snack.
Then Vin decided to speak. “Mary..”
“Hmm?” She glanced at him with her mouth full of noodles.
“..you ever regret it?..coming to Seoul with me?”He nervously fiddled with his chopsticks.
“Regret?” She rolled her eyes. “Because you still get into fights? Because you keep me up at nights?"
He looked at her, faint scrape markings visible around his left eye. He looked at her as if it was the most obvious thing for her to regret her decisions just because he had another bad dream about his life in Cheonliang.
She put down the pan of ramyeon on the table and scooted closer to him. He raised a brow but she ignored him and reached out with her hand to inspect his eye. His eyelids shut instinctively at her tender touch and he exhaled softly. The skin was definitely chafed. It sent a chill down her spine. Had she not stopped him when she did, he would've caused serious damage to himself.
She watched his face, eyes closed, expression peaceful. It was almost like he was relishing this moment of care from her. She stroked along the affected area, cautiously moving down to rest her palm on his cheek.
Then she pulled it again.
“Idiot!” She spoke through gritted teeth; his eyes flew open.
“I don't regret a thing!” She admitted and stood up. “How dare you doubt our friendship!?”
Before she could walk off, he snaked his arms around her, head nestling in the crook of her neck. She could feel his smile tickle her skin. “Forgive me..for doubting our friendship. For doubting you .”
“And,” He spoke further, hugging her a little tighter. “Thank you for always consoling me.”
She sensed a blush bloom on her cheeks. Fuck . She was used to his usual silly antics, not this . Dealing with him when he was being sincere was much harder.
“Ugh! I was only leaving to bring an ointment for your affected skin.” She explained, feigning annoyance to mask her rapidly beating heart. “Can you let go now?”
He chuckled. “Only if you ask nicely.”
If you have any fic suggestions about these two or just wanna talk, send me an ASK

Her concern; His Promise
[Read on AO3]
When Vin Jin returns from the so-called Circus of the Workers 2nd Affiliate, he is greeted by Mary Kim, who immediately decides to fix his hair. As they talk, their conversation stirs towards an argument.. just a small argument and make up moment between these two, whilst Mary cuts Vin's hair.
-> Dedicated to my friend who has somehow got me invested in this ship and requested I write a fic for them. Hope it isn't too OOC cuz I actually re-read their chapters to write them better. And hope you guys like it as much as my friend did ♥
“Sit straight!”
The command made his lips stretch into an irritating grin. Vin Jin knew how easy it was to annoy Mary Kim, especially if he was the instigator of said annoyance. He tilted his head, causing a very furious Mary to grab it and make him face the small mirror in front of him.
As soon as he had returned from his unwanted participation in Daniel Park and his friends' fight against Workers 2nd Affiliate, he was welcomed by Mary's scolding. She had practically dragged him inside their shared apartment, complaining about his month-long retreat into the mountains and how awful it had made his hair.
Now he sat in a plastic chair in the bathroom, his sunglasses discarded and left on the basin's counter. He stared at his reflection, the mismatched anomaly that was his irises as she furiously resumed combing through his thick mane, snapping a pair of scissors here and there in hopes of fashioning his hair to a reasonable length.
“Move again and I'll cut your throat with these damned scissors.” She warned.
“Wow..” he feigned a hurt expression, “I come back all bruised up and my hair is all that you care about.”
She raised a brow in disgust. “Not like you care much about me either.”
“Says who?” He asked, feeling genuine irritation prick his mind at her response.
She continued cutting his locks as if she hadn't heard a word.
“Says who?” He repeated, watching her lips press into an angry line.
“Mary Kim.”
She huffed, slamming the scissors loudly on the counter. “If you cared about me at all, you wouldn't be getting your ass into every stupid fight!”
“Well, it's just as you say! They're stupid fights! Nothing to get so heated over!”
“Those stupid fights lead to your ban from the judo team!”
“Doesn't matter. I'm gonna be a rapper, remember?”
“Then why did you go after Daniel Park!?”
“To teach that punk a lesson!”
“Well, I didn't follow you to Seoul for this!”
“I never asked you to follow me!”
The room went silent.
Gone was his burning irritation and in its place, a cold, heavy regret settled.
“Mar—”
He grimaced at the scratchy noise of his chair being forcefully turned around, a dainty palm already poised to slap him. But before her hand could strike his cheek, he effortlessly blocked the action with his own palm.
“Apologize.” She spoke softly; He felt her palm shaking against his own. “Apologize you damn thug!”
“I..” He tilted his face up to look at her, black and gray irises meeting her dark blue pools.
Being the kind of person he was, it was hard for him to apologize. Yet he uttered the words anyway. “I'm sorry, okay?”
She scoffed bitterly.
Then he added the words she needed to hear the most. The words he truly meant. “I won't say that ever again.”
She averted her eyes, retreating her hand back to her side, and picked up the scissors from where she had left them. “Of course you won't.”
He gritted his teeth. She had gone back to trimming his hair, skillfully avoiding looking directly into his eyes. He knew his dislike for Daniel Park or Vasco or anyone at J High was the least of her concerns. He knew his fights against the Four Major Crews weren't the reason behind her anger. Fighting had nothing to do with their current argument at all. It was fear. Fear of seeing him getting too carried away during a fight. Fear of him losing himself in it. Fear of him committing another grave, irrevocable mistake.
He sat patiently, waiting for her to be done with the task at hand and also to allow her a few moments with herself. To let her calm down and collect her head.
When she was finally done, she took his face between her palms and turned his face this way and that, quietly examining the results of her hour-long struggle. Yet never once did her eyes fall upon his own. Sighing, he grabbed hold of her wrists and pulled them down gently, clasping their palms together instead.
“It won't happen ever again.” He promised. I won't kill anyone ever again.
When she didn't respond, he joked, “Don't you trust me?”
She yanked her wrists from his grasp and punched his chest. Once. Twice. Five more times to let her frustrations out. Her face was lowered so as to obscure her expression but Vin was sure of the small smile lighting her lips. She did. She trusted him enough to accompany him to Seoul. She chose to stick by his side, just like he did for her.
“Idiot.” She mumbled at last. “I do trust you. You just make it so hard.”
He couldn't help himself from smiling back, relieved and thankful to have someone as concerned and kind in his life.
“Ohho!? Am I dreaming or has Mary Kim actually forgiven me?” He jokingly put a hand over his heart, hoping to liven up the mood a little.
“Not so fast!” She crossed her arms and spoke. “You're treating us to dinner tonight.”
She fixed a Chanel bandana in her wavy blond hair and left the washroom, expecting him to follow. He grinned before picking up his sunglasses from the counter and running after her.
“Okay but first let's go to the arcade.”

01/10/2022: Mary doesn't regret her choice
For Fictober 2022
October 1: “I chose you.”
Prompt by: @fictober-event
“Do you regret it?”
They are at the local park, sitting on swings that are clearly not intended for people their age, and enjoying fresh cones of ice creams.
Mary takes a small bite from her scoop of black licorice and turns her head towards him. “What?”
“Leaving Cheonliang.” Vin elaborates, licking his own passion fruit and mango flavored scoop, “Do you regret it?”
She nearly scoffs. Lately– No– Ever since his return from that den of Workers or whatever crew he had told her about, he's been asking this a lot. Do you miss Cheonliang? Wanna go back for a while? Seoul guys aren't all that attractive, right? Rephrasing and changing words but asking the same thing over and over everyday as if expecting her to respond differently. Say something she hasn't said before. But she won't give him the answer he needs unless he stops being a coward and asks her outright.
And that's exactly what she tells him. “You won't get the right answer if you keep asking the wrong question.”
Vin hums and kicks the ground lightly with his feet, making the swing motion back and forth a little. Then, with his head cocked away from her, he mutters in a hesitant tone. “Do you regret coming with me?”
She smiles. So this is what's been bothering him.
She has no idea what he encountered inside that game ring because he has yet to talk properly about it. That, and he's just bad when it comes to explanations in general. Nonetheless, he has changed since that day he came back. It's astounding for her to admit this to herself but he's been less idiotic and more…focused? Almost as if preparing to face something dreadful that is bound to happen soon. Which is probably why he's so concerned. He's worried that he'll drag her into the mess and that she'll suffer all over again. Just like she did back in Cheonliang.
“I don't regret it.” She says, taking another bite from her ice-cream, savoring the bitterness of licorice.
“Why?” He whips his head at her now.
She isn't sure so she shrugs her shoulders and utters the first thought that pops up in her mind. “Cause we're friends.”
“Mary,” He lowers his head, dark locks falling over his sunglasses. “You're not obligated to be friends with a murderer.”
“Is that so?” She says in a singsong teasing voice, eyes following the melting trail created by his ice-cream going down the cone, and even further down his fingers.
He doesn't say anything.
“I chose you.” She declares firmly. “It was either Cheonliang or you. So I made my choice. And I do not regret coming with you.”
“Mary–”
“Ohh god! Clean this!” She points at the dripping yellow ice-cream and throws her piece of napkin at him before he can spout some sappy lines about how grateful he is to have her.
Vin scoffs in amusement as he catches the napkin. “Alright.”
