Nothing's hotter than a man who takes care of himself, you think to yourself.

His head is on your thighs, you can feel his breathing on your thighs.

You play with his hair, for a long time chatting with him.

There's a loud sound of thunder, and the lights go out.

"Its okay, I'm here. Dont you get scared now." The tall and dark figure with the sexiest voice, gets up from your thighs.

He pulls you into a hug, he's taller than you. Your head thuds, with his soft chest. You've always been scared of the dark since childhood.

It starts raining, the only light is coming from the cackling fireplace beside your bed. There are two mugs of hot chocolate on the table.

You hear his heartbeat going crazy. Even after all these years...

You know, something that I never saw webroons address in their Korean comics area is how....having your parents/sister/brother betray you in a cruel way ...may affect you mentally.

Yes, girlboss stories are cool, in theory. But when you read the story "the poor lady had her fiance stole by her evil sister who pretended to be a friend soley to stab her in the back, she died and now has a second chance in life" when all is said and done ...the mc lost her family...like think for a moment.

How visceral this type of betrayal really is. Your sister arranged your death just so she can have your money or husband or whatever...and you can get revenge, sure. In this new life, your evil sister may be rotting in a cellar or dead, but doesn't change the trauma the mc endured.

Its never brought up...bc "mc got a hot new love interest who adores her" cool, I guess. She still lost her sister. Her family, even if is a comical abusive one...who is to say it can't happen again?

The hot young duke loves you TODAY.

But and if he gets tired of you?

Ok, maybe he won't kill you but if he has more power than you...he can make your life a living hell and hm...who would be on your side? Your family is evil and by this point they are in prison or dead, so the mc ...is alone.

Those stories want to give a sweet ending with a hot duke or prince...but those mcs have no real support system if the hot duke wants someone else...he has the power to do so...the mc has to suck up.

Hence why I'm not a fan of revenge stories where mc needs to rely in marrying a powerful duke bc the duke could have been worse, much worse.

Not a fan of "mc has shitty family" not bc "oh you just hate angst" it's bc not only is overused but the trauma the mc faces is a gimmick, nothing more.

「2:22pm」 - You couldn't wait any longer. It has been days since you've last seen him. Not a call, not a text had been received since he stormed out. No matter how hard you tried to reach him. For all you knew, Pet Shop had captured him. Or that he'd finally gone back to NEST in the face of being an alleged murderer.

You decided to search for him in the forest. Your flashlight leads and lights your way. Arms swaying back and forth in sync as your strides are long, fluid. Eyes flickering amongst the trees where you stood.

Far enough, but somehow, in view, you could see the rooftop of the Stray Dogs' Compound.

Up there, you once were beside him. It was where you bonded. Where you shared deeper feelings. Deeper thoughts. Nights prior to his disappearance, several swigs of liquid courage made him say he'd sell his soul for you if it meant protecting you. If it meant for you to never feel pain ever again.

Approaching an opening on the trail, you walk down when the soil under your shoes abruptly loosens. Your limbs are sent tumbling as you yell for help. Just as you did, something slammed into you. Large wings sprang desultorily from his back.

It was Suchan. He was in Blackout.

Straddling your waist, his hands grip tightly around your wrists as he pins you down. His chest brushes against yours as his rises and falls. His head is lowering to meet your eyes.

He's unwavering, breathing heavy as he continues holding you hostage. Slowly, his head raises, his face now a dark looming shadow while he sniffs the air. A deep whiff from the side of your neck causes you to squirm. Lowly, Suchan growls as he inhales your scented skin.

The muscles of your heart tightened with full force during which you grimaced up at him. "Channie, you're hurting me!"

His nose and lips pressed into your neck, nuzzling it even as he drew in a deep breath. Channie. Hearing that nickname. That name, it sparked something. His head rose hesitantly from your neck. His breathing slowed slightly at the same time that his brows snapped together.

Tilting his head to the side like a curious puppy, he's taken back to that night alone on the roof. You both had hung your hands over the railing, leaning forward. Orange, pinkish reddish hues frosted the sky, same as whipped butter cream. Warmth fading much like the sun you, his hand was wrapped around another halfway finish bottle of flavored soju.

You weren't nearly as drunk yet. Tipsy at most. What started as joking banter turned into him, taking a step closer. Him seeing you shiver from the dropping temperatures. That's how his jacket ended up around your shoulders. That's how his forehead rested on yours before he placed a chaste kiss on it. When he saw you and him as one and the same.

Suchan lifts up a hand and gently brushes your hair away, exposing more of your skin. His breathing decreases further. His darkened schleras start to fade to their original white at the very moment his pupils become more and more dilated.

Suchan comes into reality, noticing the situation he's put you in. His eyes widen as he pulls away from your body. Sitting back, Suchan stares down at his palms mortified. "I-I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn’t mean for you to see that, I'm sorry -"

For a moment, he lost track of where your body stopped and where his began. You sniffled, hiding your face in his chest the second his hands met your lower back.

"Never leave me again...."
