I'm still pretty new to ffxiv fandom tbh (I migrated from a 10-year-old blog and started fresh last year, so I've been slowly building things up over time), but there's so many lovely folks here! 🥺💕

@thevikingwoman - We've been friends for literal years from Dragon Age fandom. Viking's an enthusiastic supporter of all things writing, she's an incredible cheer-leader for fandom things and creations. Also rarepairs! She has so much love for rarepairs and minor characters, and bringing her own spin on things. I am eating her Tansui x Meryta headcanons for breakfast. @tsunael - So kind and such a sweetheart. Their gposes are enchanting and ethereal, and I'm always so blown away by the composition. I love Tsuna with all my heart, and I'm excited to learn more about her. Also shout-out to a fellow Wolcred shipper! 💕 @ievaxol - She's written some of my absolute favourite FFXIV fics! Her writing is so engaging, with an incredible sense of character, rhythm and pace. Meryta Khatin - Warrior of Darkness

PLD - AST - BRD - SAM - SMN - BLM - MCH

A bit of job lore for her under cut.

Bard - Meryta has always been an archer, having been taught from childhood. Her first choice for anything is her bow.

Samurai - She had seen skilled warriors with the blade before in her homeland and Yanxia, but she never had a chance to learn properly. Meeting an old man looking for a pupil in Ul'dah was a welcome way to starve off homesickness.

Astrologian - In Ishgard, meeting Jannequinard left her curious, both about healing and as perhaps away to locate the missing scions with a touch of divination.

Summoner - At Alphinaud's instance, she took up honing aether, summoning and reading; though approach was not always successful, and studying excessively is not for her. She mostly goes with her gut, but appreciates the skills.

Paladin - She learned basic skills with a blade growing up, but picked up paladin after Haurchefant's death, driven by her need to protect people. The next time. Initially Aymeric taught her, and later she made friends with Mylla in the gladiator's guild.

Machinist - Leofard convinced her to pick up a gun, and she occasionally trains a little, but so far has not used it seriously. She recently has received a bit more formal instruction from Stephanien and Joye.

Black Mage - She curiously enlisted in the Thaumaturge's guild when she visited on an alchemist errand - an insistent receptionist and a Triple Triad loss later. She didn't do much more than dapple, until after she was back from the First. Though technically the extra Light aether had left her, she still felt the itch of it, and still feared having too much aether, so she took it up more seriously. Regardless of whether it was an irrational feeling or not - she found she had plenty of aether to throw around and black magic an excellent way of channeling it, however unprecise she may be.
