Have you ever played a old arcade cabinet?! The shits addictive! It doesn’t matter what game- forget it- it has you- you’re gone! You belong to the machine now! They’d have to drag my ass onto set kicking and screaming - I would be fired so fast lmao. (I have lost so much of my life to the hypnotic power of dig dug)
Also I think it’s generally just really funny to have video games for the downtimes between filming a movie about video games- also playing it in costume is such an image. (How fucking tall is he? He’s the size of it—)

Here's how you revive the video arcade industry in the US:
Put the machines on free play, charge admission. Customers can stay and play all day. Have a snack bar for extra revenue. Let it be a hangout.
If you have the money for magnetic cards and readers to replace the coin slots, make your system go by time rather than bullshit e-tokens. (Last I knew, one dollar at Dave and Buster's won't even get you enough for a game of Donkey Kong.)
Pay-per play as a secondary option perhaps. I know a quarter is worth half of what it was in the 80s, but a round of Galaga has NOT held it's value. It should cost a dime, not two quarters.
Moving cockpit games and the like should be an exception to the above, because they require extra maintenance.

After a month, I made a new video, this time from my first time going to Dave & Buster's in person! 😀 I know you guys the ones in your local, but I never did, because as of now, it's far away from me, and it will soon open in Schaumburg, IL at Streets of Woodfield shopping center in the former GameWorks space, which closed in 2021. As I never went to Dave & Buster's in person, as I'm familiar with the entertainment chain that is a competitor to Chuck E. Cheese and later Main Event Entertainment (which in 2022, the company acquired and is now the subsidiary), this was recorded from my first time going to Dave & Buster's there in person, here's a walkthrough tour from my first visit there and what they have there in the arcade room. This was shot at the Addison, IL location, and is the first location I went to before a new location will open in Schaumburg, IL at the Streets of Woodfield shopping mall in the former GameWorks space, which closed on December 24, 2021 (Christmas Eve), due to financial struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was officially announced in May this year from a post on the Village of Schaumburg website. Dave & Buster's is currently far away from my local, as at least, there's Chuck E. Cheese and Main Event in my local. Yes, I've passed by this for a longtime, every I went to visit my Filipino relatives in Bloomington, IL (now they reside in Texas in the Rio Grande area), and Royal Buffet in Downers Grove, IL.
Filmed on July 8, 2023.

This looks like the Amusement Center that more recently had been abandoned and is basically run by the customers.
Only a small portion of it is active by the doors with maybe a dozen candy cabs at the most and some random rhythm games and vending machines..
They're rigged up so the customers can turn them on or off as needed and the last ones have to shut off everything at night..
A lot of surfaces like the ceiling are yellowed from years of smoking in there..
I saw a video about it on YouTube..
