. DLC catered to me a lot since I'm a Zanzibart cutscene enjoyer who loves map exploration and Vista money shots but I'm kinda HUH-cat.clip when it comes to some new lore bits and in general the world feels divorced from main game even though main game characters and topics are around?

I don't remember how much souls DLC tied into the other story, but I'm using The Old Hunters from BB as base and it really added extra value to its world and characters and there's just nothing new of real interest in SotE from what I can see…

In a vacuum I can only appreciate even more (literal) brother on brother action but Miquella seemingly being deeply obsessed with Radahan is so out of left field??? Granted I'm not an lorester but what I remember as Miq's key things from flavor text when it comes to ties to other people is him being sad about being unable to cure Malenia of her rot and also sad about not being able to grant Godwyn his true death. The only ties to Radahan is by proxy of his sister fighting him? (Was she even fighting him just to bring bro his crush to him? This makes Caelid getting nuked by her even more of a waste.)

It's so out of nowhere that the Epic Prime Version of him comes off as a cheap soyjak pointing bit pandering to Radahan fanboys (pretty sure he's like no1 fav guy for players right), but fanboys will obviously not be happy about him just being a hollow shell again (?) that might not have wanted anything to do with Miquella (?) so I just can't see this as satisfying for ANY kind of player even on a full Gamer Dude to Deranged Fujoshi spectrum? I imagine deep lore enthusiasts also feels a bit… Ambushed.

I'm not against Miquella doing dark unpleasant or just stupid desperate acts since it was already a popular theory that he was a brainwasher type, but the issue for me is that I'm not sure if this Miq/Rad union is "intended" to be read in such a twisted way even when it's the only way I can read it.

Though I guess the fact general consensus going from "wow Mohg is so messed up claiming Miq no matter Miq's consent" to "wow Miq is so messed up claiming Radahan no matter Radahan's* consent" is poetic….?

*I'm writing Radahan here but really it's also a synonym for 'Mohg' considering he's the one getting desecrated the most.

I'm sure I'll end up watching some vid or writeup making pieces fall into place later but I can't believe Miyazaki is handing me visual age gap brother incest and all I can do is force a strained smile in response!!!

Anyway general whining time:

As much as I love filling out up the map I feel there was too much big "empty" areas. Climbing the dragon mountain was the worst presentation of anything I've seen in a FS title, extremely cheap unfinished filler feeling with the spirit jumps instead of at least adding some kinda atmosphere like the open flower/gravestone fields. The Abyss gimmick overstayed it's welcome since it's too miserable checking if you missed a shiny somewhere without your horse, but at least the stealth parts was such a non-issue it might as well not be there.

While I like that you can see several inaccessible areas from where you stand, and I do think it leads to some fun moments when you're taking a random path halfway across the map and ends up on the other side as an a-ha moment, it was a bit frustrating not being able to tell more clearly how to reach sections. Plus I would've died 10000 times from drops if it wasn't the fact Rainbow Stones protected me from making bad choices.

What mindbroke me most was trying to get into the flower field area north east, having an "oh boy, beating this guy will let me reach it for sure!" moment for both Gaius and Sunflower was such [record scratch SFX]. I did figure posing in front of the statue was most likely the entry afterwards but somehow I had missed the gesture needed (most embarrassing DLC moment considering I tend to fine comb pretty well and the gesture pickup is just sitting there out in the open………. why am I even admitting this shameful thing). Watching trees get knocked over from something moving under the water in the church district was really cool and unnerving and then you realize it's just branch dragon number 800……………..

The wicker men has a great design but fighting them was either a boring slog or a frustrating jankfest trying to toss the bombs right. Peeved that you HAVE to use a furnace pot for the sleeping one blocking the ruin puzzle, hefty should've been fine too.

Bosses are too hectic/aggressive for my taste but that's just business as usual for ER so whatever, last boss really is way too punishing compared to other Hard bosses tho, in fact I just watched ending on YT since I'm stuck still on them :V Camera also makes a glorious return as the toughest challenge of them all.

Think my biggest highlights was seeing the bizarre finger/tongue path under the church and the finger mom boss visual itself and the black humor of the miserable living jars stumbling around with the pot on their head. Ansbach is a hot new waifu and it's very precious how such an upstanding man stays all-in loyal to a Deranged Satan (said lovingly) soooo cute you actually get a "Um, so about how Mohg died…👉👈" prompt with him. There was more NPC voice lines than I expected which was fun. St Trina's design was very neat and shoujo manga. Having to sip syrup 4-5 times instead of the classic Third Time's The Charm is a crime however and I missed making the Trina fanboy jealous until it was too late :/

The open world for all of Elden Ring is such an incredible experience that I'm happy I got to play and I had such a good time and I can't imagine any other studios will be able to reach these map heights but I also hope they never make an OW game again because it's too much when you "need" to replay it.

HAIIII welcome :) to preface this im normal i swear. anyway The Abyss is what i like ta call my Horrible Horrible Maze, i made it w/ the goal of making the worst possible experience in minecraft to torment my friends ^_^

I enjoy putting people in situations and studying them :D 

On that note! everyone who runs the abyss (24 people at current count) I time and write a couple notes on them! the abyss is honestly half maze half personality test LMAO. at current moment the quickest time goes to @ghostpajamas with a baffling 03:24 (wild that he got out so quick, i win tho cause i haunt his dreams), and longest goes to the beloved @rendogdomesticated with 1:35:54 <3 special shout out ta my dearest @theoctagon tho wolff ur insane i love u. guy goes inta the abyss for fun and has like 10 pages and counting of insane person phsyical notes tryna map it out (hes reported that hes gone through the first one 60 times and the 2nd one 5 jesus chriiiistttt). the abyss is fond of Pilot :) also if wolff is the favourite than @potionofinstantdamage is the Least favourite, rude ass set the place on fire when he got stuck in there :( oof ouchie

Highlights from my notes include @quack-city running backwards and upon me asking Why, simply replied “what if there’s slenderman :(‘ ... cant argue w/ that! he also hadda stop mid run so we decided its funnier if he’s just stuck in there forever. @newtbeetle was in there for like an hour and would NOT shut up about Paul Dano the whole time which was a time (love u beebs. ur isnane). my two test runners are @kishdoodles and @officialgleamstar and they had about the same time but like Opposite reactions it was very funny, kish treated it like they were a streamer n kept a like constant chatter, and travvy was like DEAD silent the whole time n Intensely focused akjewkjr tbh outta all 24 runners trav’s been prob the most like, methotical bout it? LIKE I SAID personality test. i Love studying people. 

In regards to its origins I came up w/ the idea back in like feb/march ish of this year and from start to finish it took me like 2 weeks ish i was on the Grind. u dont understnad how much black concrete this thing took. hell on earth,,, darkwoods has an economy/shopping district and i bought out like All the sand/gravel available akjwekjr the rest i hadda gather myself n God gravel sucks. also ive killed So Many Squids. the 2nd abyss was much easier ta gather supplies for cause i could ask for help w/ supplies n i kept the first one a Complete secret minus my test runners (i hadda bitch at SOMEONE while makin it or i wouldve died i think. speakin of the first abyss has a death count of 13 and the 2nd one has like, 5 or somefin? rlly shouldve writen that down akjwerjk those are Entirely me dying in the process of buildin them btw. its not a true Spain Build unless its mildly dangerous <3) The 2nd one also made me learn redstone, notably i specifically studied Tango’s decked out process vids from s7, tho i really only stole like two aspects of it n i couldnt even get one ta work properly LMAO

The second abyss took me like, wayy longer ta make, bout two months ish (i finished it like mid july). not necessarily in actual like, time spent building but cause in the process of makin it i had Two month long events i was in (Voiceteam in may and Art fight in july) so that distracted me a bit wkwnekeneie Im a bit more secretive bout the second abyss in general since not That many people have actually ran it compared ta the first n theres actually like, Things that can be spoiled in there <3 i like seein peep’s initial reactions its much more satisfying.

This didnt happen w/ everyone but i think a like, Core part of running the abyss is getting emotionally attached ta weird things. i wouldve said just torches until a few days ago when Tac (onea the rat server mods) ran it and claimed the stack of pumpkin pies i gave her as family. But Prior Ta That several people have had very intense emotions bout the redstone torches, whether love or hate or both, key example ft dog:

In regards to lore the abyss is a parasitic entity that infects anyone who gets stuck in there n slowly compells them ta go build their own lmao. note that ive only called the second abyss the Second one and not Abyss 2, because its technically just The Abyss as well cause theres many of them i just made it second wowjdkenejd (a real example of this is Wolff gettin obsessed w/ the abyss n then goin n buildin his own build called the Tower :) very excited bout that) The Abyss has a weird like fucked up warlock bond w/ my goddess oc The Overseer :D Her design’s vaugely based off my irl friend @hotcollectionoftubs cause her creation The Hole on a creative world her n some other friends of mine are on was onea the main insperations for certain aspects of the abyss’ lore :D mainly the teal in the colour palette and the whole ‘the [hole/abyss] provides’ thing.

my darkwoods chara, Snake, is a whole nother bag entirely (basic gist is they’re a dimension traveler not by choice and darkwoods is the 3rd world theyve been in, their deal’s worth a whole post of its own lmao) i built the first abyss entirely unrelated ta my chara just as like, fun weird build ta torment my friends w/o yaknow? but then as i was buildin the 2nd one i was like hmmmmmm. alotta things could make sense if i made this one built by Snake. so their retirement arc on darkwoods turned inta even MORE trauma! wahoo! poor guy deserves a break,,, (he will not be getting one).

✎ suddenly got this brilliant idea while going thru fanarts that "hey- doesn't ayamitsu kinda look like mizisua-?" Plus there's also their love for (rock) music to consider. Lights flashing, theatrical smoke billowing from the backstage, the spot light halts still at the centre of the stage. Mitsuki hears the crowd roaring and realises that in a few minutes she'll be taken up on the stage, ready to perform.

With Aya.

She feels nerves dampen her spirit and fears her strength wavering. What awaits her on the stage might be her doom.

Or worse, Aya's.

And she can't allow that to happen.

So she'll do her best. They both will. To form a draw. So that neither of them are eliminated. But if the worst comes to worst, Mitsuki decides, she will be the one to bite the bullet. Because sweet Aya should not have to.

Her legs would've dropped her had she not be held up by strong arms. Nimble fingers briskly unclasp her collar that beep against her throat before giving way.

And without warning she is pushed forward in a dark abyss that welcomes her with coldness.

Assaulted by the sudden glaring lights and unrepentant force she stumbles and braces herself for a sharp fall. That never comes.

When she looks up she finds herself lost under clear blue skies and cherry blossom trees of the Anakt Garden and then she hears a lovely voice that gently holds her hands and brings her away from serenity. She realises she'd been staring at Aya, drowning herself in her pretty eyes and prettier smile that beams brighter than sunshine.

Then they're introduced to their grotesque audience who sneer at them like they're caged animals in a zoo. Mitsuki jumps away from Aya's hold as if she has been scorched and the hurt Aya bestows her with definitely burns her heart a little. But it had to be done, their spectators didn't enjoy the sight they'd put up just now.

Affection and love are, after all, a taboo to the aliens, and they wish to exterminate it from their feeble human souls too.

Else why would they have Mitsuki standing before Aya, ready to duel her to death with the voice Aya had always admired? The voice that had drawn Aya to her. Aya, whom she'd ensnared with her golden melody like a siren with her sailor.

Kind Aya should not be here, not in front of Mitsuki, not smiling as if they do not know the consequences of this battle.

They both take up their places, behind their respective microphones and Mitsuki, eyes closed, starts with a single note, "Oh...."

Her voice echoes through the arena and she feels the resonance of her voice coming back to her. And Aya's unflinching stare.

"My Clematis. Hope bloomed from the abyss." She is standing in an open field, where lush greenery runs as far as one could see, eyes closed she sings to the wind that caress her rosy cheeks, the dance with her hair, that hugs her in its cool embrace and promises to not let go.

"Oh my Clematis," chimes another voice with hers, like a ring to her bell, and then she stops and looks to her side. Aya finishes what Mitsuki had started. "Always be by my side."

Then all she remembers is laughter, a happy memory. And then the scene vanishes, into the depths of the ocean of her mind, where she is drowning.

With no Aya to anchor her.

From there begins another memory, another she'd made and cherished with the girl by her side. It is a happy one too. Although there lingers an unmasked feeling between them.

They're sitting under the shades of heaven, watching the stars together. Or well, Aya is atleast, because the only star that Mitsuki sees is standing with her. Oh, how she wishes she could have this star woven into every fragment of her unfortunate soul, to never part.

"The galactic starlight," they harmonize, like two chords intertwining into an indelible melody. "In your eyes spread out."

"In the endless darkness, I find you with your scent." She reminisces the smell of fresh meadows and flowers. Flowers that Aya blooms with her smile as strong as sunlight, as startling as a perennial river, as unbounding as zephyr.

"Even if I sleep in infinity, don't leave my universe," Aya sings, staring resolutely at Mitsuki as if daring her to deny the words she spills as the truth.

Oh, but Mitsuki knows- she has learned with countless reminders of lips stealing her breath away, of being worshipped as deserving of a goddess unlike her- that she is Aya's universe, so how could she ever leave her strung in an relentless world such as this one they're caged in? Mitsuki would rather chain herself to eternal damnation than forsake her one true salvation.

Mitsuki laughs, for the first time, in a long time, when she finds Aya catching fishes. Mitsuki is in love, for the first time, and a long time, when she watches a sunset. A sunset she'd never thought would bring her nostalgia. Nostalgia about a hug and warmth she'd always sought.

She finally opens her eyes, and drinks in the beauty that Aya showers her with. Carving Aya's portrait with a chisel and a mallet, she leaves her as a permanent blessing in the stone that is her heart, never to be withered for Mitsuki is the curtain that enshrouds her glory into her chest, only meant for her to uncover and behold.

There is silence ringing around them and for once the world halts all movements and the aliens that spectate them seem to hold their tongues, and it's just Mitsuki and Aya and their tiny world that rests in the cusp of their palms.

"Oh my Clematis. Hope bloomed from the abyss" The world restarts, the loud shouts come back and Mitsuki misses the transient peace she had been granted. "Oh my Clematis, always be by my side.

A panel flickers into view and Mitsuki waits with uncanny stillness and sure enough, her image is shown alongside Aya's, marking them as opponents contesting in the first round. 

Mitsuki thinks about another precious memory of hers, this might be her last, she realises, because she can sense the awaiting end that comes nearer as they pitch the songs towards its final chorus. Her first meeting with Aya, when they'd met eachother's gaze and Aya had been the one to shyly break the contact while Mitsuki had stuck out her tongue, embarrassed at having been caught when she'd messed up a note. 

And then Mitsuki smiles, with a hint of laughter in her eyes, not because of the fond recollection but rather an omen. For she knows what's about to come, for she also knows that it would break Aya's heart and maybe her soul, but never her body.

Because Mitsuki will be her shield, and the selfless part of her would take the bullet for Aya while the selfish part of her will die, carrying Aya's love with her into the afterlife. Their scores are counted side by side but all Mitsuki sees is the countdown till her impending end.

Like the young Mitsuki in the memory she too had messed up her finishing note, but unlike their supervisor at Anakt Garden who had not bothered to point out her mistake or perhaps had never noticed it in the first place for Mitsuki had always been a diligent perfectionist, their alien audience here won't be as kind so as to turn a blind eye to the obvious flaw. Sure enough there was a difference that she'd been anticipating.

A difference of a single digit.

She can already hear Narita admonishing her in the back of her mind. She hears him call her heartless and a coward for taking the easy way out and eliminating herself in the very first round, leaving Aya in the dust to pick up the pieces of her heart shattered into smithereens.

All alone.

Because Mitsuki chooses her defeat than Aya's, for the pink haired girl's survival would be her greatest victory.

He demands from her, how she could be so cruel? To abandon the person she loves, who loves her back, to the pain of losing a loved one?

But wait, isn't she doing it for Aya? So why is it so cruel of her?

Or is it cruel of her because she will let Aya suffer her lose instead of taking the burden on herself? When she'd often claimed to ease her sorrow and dry her tears.

But can she bear the prospect of having Aya's blood on her hands, especially if she knew she had a chance to prevent it? Unlike Aya who probably still has no idea of the death-trap they're dancing in.

But she can ponder no long because when Aya turns her excitement towards her, her face is splashed with red and her eyes have lost their glimmer, as if she is the one to have her life snuffed out of her.

Or maybe she is.

After all, it is Mitsuki lying by her feet, warm blood seeping out of her now cold body.

Right where she should be. Right how she should be.

Cause in the end it is Mitsuki who lost since she committed a fatal flaw and not Aya, lovely Aya, chosen by the people who've voted for her.

Chosen by Mitsuki. Chosen over Mitsuki.

Chosen because she is what matters in Mitsuki's bleak world.

Aya, her galaxy that holds her as the sole universe.

Aya, her most beloved devotee who has built her a shrine in her heart and offered her love as prayer.

"Thank you Aya. For believing my false promises. For accepting this debauched love."

Hi there! Are there SMT and Persona lore videos you recommend? I would like something that explains the basic concepts, but what I found on YouTube is mostly about plot or specific entities, not things like what’s a persona and the realms they travel to.

I admit I don't watch a bunch of those since I mostly play and do the meta myself but I know of a few I've seen. I can't entirely promise their full quality since I haven't watched them.

I'm coming up a bit dry on videos about the realms they travel to, like Tartarus, the TV world, or Mementos in Persona-- but each has variable lore. Tartarus and Mementos, in particular, have a very heavy Tree of Life inspired design, which is why during weird magic war I was posting shit like:

All the realms are versions of the unconscious; Tartarus and Mementos are the whole "towers going up and down", and are based after tree of life and qlipoth inverted. 4's lacks the tree aspect; all are reflections of the collective unconscious, with different connectivity; For example, there's evidence that Mementos still connects to The Abyss Of Time like Tartarus does--Joker in P3 showed up as an emotional mirage detectable without being there, like a ghost; so that's kinda... that. Honestly best played, unless someone else has a video. Looking up "tree of life, qabbalah" and "qlipoth" should pull up some trees that if you side by side Mementos or Tartarus pictures, you can just. "Oh."

SMT is a lil more complicated to break down on areas, since the series is a little more fractalized and less... geocentered? Next vid is the top 50.

This may be a good start. In SMT, the Personas are Demons, and manage somewhat differently, but they're the same critters.

Hopefully this is a good starting point for videos; again, I really don't watch these since I inherently grok.

If you really want though, something just hit me (ignore the sarcastic playlist title, but this is a teacher in P4 Golden that explains a lot of the philosophy shit in game.)

Darker Interface Colors

I never liked the way Heroes 3 interface looks due to player colors not fitting in the interface. Extract this little archive into your Data directory and the interface will look much better.

New Battle Grids

Choose the one you like and put it into the Data directory. I recommend the third one.

Synchronized Creatures Sounds

Some creatures produce sound in the wrong moment. Like, when Air Elementals are hit, first comes animation and then they produce the sound. This fixes them. Extract into the game folder. Fully-featured M&M and Heroes 3 archives editor. Supports all archive types except '.hwl'.

Lod Favorites

Favorites for h3sprites.lod and h3bitmaps.lod with categorized list of files, currently only available in Russian. Made by Black Phantom, with my edits.

List all the things you’re currently working on in as much or little detail as you’d like, then tag some friends to see what they’re working on.

This can be writing, art, vids, gifsets!

Perfectly out of order (fitting to the chaos inside my mind), this is the list of things I am currently working on:

1. As posted on Twitter the other day, this is my growing collection of unfinished JB drawings.

2. I want to make a first attempt of animated drawings, but I am still working my way through that. I wanted to do an animated kiss scene for JB, but it’s nowhere near done yet.

3. I have a oneshot in the process of being written under the working title “Drunk in Wench Land” featuring a drunk Jaime and a not at all pleased Brienne when he winds up at her doorstep even though they are just colleagues. But this takes longer than I ever wanted this to be, so now… it is stuck somewhere.

4. Other fanfics that I am working on that do not at all come to fruition just yet because they just keep growing in size to the point that I don’t even know where to go with these:

Jaime has to take Cersei’s kids to the fair alongside Tyrion, which means he is stuck doing htat alone because his brother disappears at a liquor stand and doesn’t return. He runs into Brienne who is playing matchmaker for her foster kid Pod as he tries to make the next step with Sansa, whom he has been having a crush on for quite some time now. Chaos ensues and the two have to team up to somehow control it. Joffrey is being a dick.

This was something I actually wanted to write for Christmas season, but I didn’t find the time: Brienne makes the best of ice sculptures, Jaime gets ordered by Cersei to get her one of the statues she makes, even though Brienne told her that she doesn’t do things on commission repeatedly, after all, Cersei wants Myrcella’s welcome-back-party from Dorne’s boarding school to be absolutely perfect. Jaime has to drive to the middle of nowhere to meet the woman who runs around her property full of the most wonderful ice sculptures with chainsaw as though it was nothing. Things go from there.

Then there is another thing I have made tentative steps towards: Jaime, after a hand injury, wants to start working out again, so he wants to do some running, the way he always did, but he is not back in shape, so he is a mess, gets a cramp. Brienne helps him out. The two start to train together. She wants to participate in a marathon. Things go from there. Yadda.

Then there is one other fic under the working title “The Bridesmaid’s Tale” that started out as an innocent oneshot until my brain decided otherwise, and is hence stuck in the abyss of WIPs. Jaime is forced by his father into attending any social event there is, primarily weddings (because PR). So he is stuck at a wedding of people he doesn’t know, only to run into Brienne, who was forced into bridesmaid duty and wants to flee the scene now that it started pouring rain, which forced all people inside when it should have been an outside wedding in bright sunshine. Brienne wants to get away from the Bridezilla, even if that means fleeing via the roof. The two start to talk, waiting for a good chance to flee. Eventually, they take flight, only to be caught on camera by some paparazzi, resulting in a cluster-fuck for the two as Jaime’s dad wants to use that to enhance their business relations. Things just get really, really awkward between the two… and it still needs to be done.

5. WIPs I am currently working on (there are far too many to be true):

I am still writing on the next chapter for Lady Hawk, but writing one particular set of scenes makes me pull my hairs out, which is why there is no new chapter just yet.

I am also piecing together a new chapter for In the Eyes of the Seven, but yet again, there is this one thing I can’t quite bridge yet, resulting in an unfinished chapter once more.

Furthermore, I am trying really hard to finally get a new chapter for Washed Away out there, but damn, does this prove to be a pain in the buttocks.

And then there is my little JBO-only (JBonly) so-called “nook” project, which is a long-ass fic that I am not posting anywhere (at this point of time anyway), it a n(on-)book, hence nook, standing proud and tall at 104k words (!!!) at this point of time, and it’s not even getting to the fun bits of the fic just yet. Spoiler Alert: It is based on a moodboard I did some time ago, about JB in a Viking setting, though I have zero clue about Viking culture, which is why I reckon it’s best buried in my WIPs for now. Even more so since it was supposed to be… rather juicy, considering that it builds a lot on the show Vikings… and damn, am I uncomfortable with that.

6. I feel like writing fanfic based on almost all of my moodboards, I am not even lying. I want to write that all so bad, but considering the amount of WIPs I already have out there, I. Must. Resist. The. Urge!!!

7. Speaking of moodboards, the list of things I want to do keeps getting longer and longer (I actually have three lists, two on my phone, and one on my computer, because you never know when the mood-fairy tells you “hey do something based on that idea!”) .

8. Other things that I am working on: On hiatus for now, but I still want to wrap up my Purple Wedding Brienne DIY Funko. I really have to get back to that.

9. I am also still working on perfecting my JB-themed necklaces. I did manage to get myself an Etsy-account by now, but since I ran trouble with the glue that I used (it discolored the print-outs after some time), so now I had to test again, LOL. But yeah, I still wanna do that at some point.

10. There is still one anon sitting in my mail box that suggested a certain song fitting JB that I totally agree with and wanted to do something with based on that song, but I didn’t get around doing that just yet.

11. Completely fandom-unrelated, but I want to do a comic named “Brumpy the Beaver.” Guess who inspired that comic.

12. There are still moodboards I haven’t published on Tumblr yet, because I still have to type up the summary for them.

13. Oh yeah, almost forgot, I once started, but then kinda abandoned doing a comic/graphic novel kind of thing based on Jaime’s Weirwood Dream in the books, but I didn’t get much done yet for those panels, so that is kind of lying around for now.

That’s it for now! But you bet I will keep creating new content that just doesn’t get done!
