WIP Wedneday

“Scoot over! Scoot over! I wanna see!”

Yuuri grunts as he takes an elbow to the side, flailing nearly off of the bed as Phichit weasels on up onto the bed with him.

“Okay, am I not allowed to talk to him by myself?”

“No.”

And, yeah, alright, Yuuri should have expected that.

It’s been four months since Yuuri’s trip to Las Vegas, four months since Champions on Ice, and, more importantly, four months since he has a middle-of-the-night shotgun wedding to International Figure Skating’s darling, Viktor Nikiforov.

At the time, Yuuri had immediately offered to annul it (why the hell would someone like Viktor want to marry someone like him?), but Viktor had merely smiled at him and told him he’d rather not.

Now it was Skype calls every few days, constant texting, and two very, very nice care packages as they go through the clumsy work of working backwards from “married” to, well, certainly friends, to start with.

Yuuri feels like he’s the only one perturbed by this whole thing sometimes given the fact that Phichit has run away with the idea of his best friend being married, only lamenting that he didn’t get the chance to give a best man speech (“You should have called me at the church!” “Phi, I could barely write my name let alone work my phone.”) and Viktor is messaging Yuuri constantly with idle conversation bordering from friendly to salacious in a single line.

He has pointedly not shown Phichit those messages.

The laptop rings and Yuuri throws his weight back against Phichit so he’s taking up most of the screen before clicking the ‘accept’ button. There’s a bit of fumbling around on the other side of the screen before it comes into clear-ish view and Viktor is there in his fuzzy, post-practice flushed glory.

“Yuura!” He cries like he they didn’t just talk two nights ago. It doesn’t stop Yuuri from smiling though and even flushing a bit when Viktor starts blowing kisses at the screen.

“Hi, Vicchan.”

Viktor beams at Yuuri for a moment, just staring like he can’t get enough before his eyes slide slightly to the side and his face lights up again.

“Oh! Oh, is this Phichit?! Hi, Phichit!”

Phichit shuffles around so he’s koalaing around Yuuri’s back, arms over his shoulders and head beside his.

“Hi, Viktor! Yuuri’s been so mean keeping you to himself!”

“Mm, well, you know Yuura gets protective.” Yuuri, in spite of that flushes and frowns.

“You’ve already monopolized my video calls with my mom, can I have Viktor?” Yuuri asks, trying to get Phichit off of him to no avail.

Phichit leans closer and it forces Yuuri to have to bend over, Phichit putting his hand to his mouth in an exaggerated stage whisper.

“He’s just mad I’m his mom’s favorite son.”

“Oh, you’ve chatted with Mrs. Katsuki?! Yuura, why won’t you let me talk to her?!”

Yuuri rubs at his temple with his free hand, throwing Phichit a look.

“I want to be present the first time you talk to her, I don’t want to just give her your number.”

And, to be fair, it’s also because she doesn’t yet know that Viktor and Yuuri are married, none of his family does. He didn’t know how he was supposed to broach the conversation of “Hi, I got married” and “Hi, it was drunk in Las Vegas” and also “Hi, I married my celebrity crush.” If Phichit was heartbroken about not being at Yuuri’s wedding, that’s nothing to the guilt that Yuuri’s going to feel when his mother finds out she didn’t even know about the wedding.

“I can behave myself. Around her, at least.” Viktor winks, or at least Yuuri thinks he winks, the video lags for a moment.

“You’ve never behaved once in your life.” They’ve only been talking for four months, but Yuuri knows that. Still, he can’t help his own smile when Viktor sticks his tongue out at him. This back and forth banter has gotten a little easier, Yuuri doesn’t puff up like a wet cat whenever Viktor teases him now and even Yuuri can get out a little teasing, especially when it makes Viktor Nikiforov a little bashful.

“Like you’re one to talk,” Phichit accuses, pinching Yuuri’s cheek before turning to the screen. “It’s a shame you didn’t see it in Las Vegas, Yuuri gets so sexual when he’s wasted. I’m surprised he didn’t try to (ave his way with you in a—“

“Okay, okay!” Yuuri sits up fast enough that it knocks Phichit off of his back and onto the bed. “Group video call time is over!”

Both Phichit and Viktor whine in the same moment as Yuuri reaches over Phichit to grab his headphones.

“Oh, come on! I wasn’t going to tell him about the—“

“You’re not telling him anything!”

“No, but I want to know about my husband!”

Yuuri puts the headphones on around his neck, plugging it into the laptop.

“Don’t you have an English paper to write?” Yuuri asks, waving Phichit off.

“Oh, what? So when you shirk off your physics homework to talk to your boyfriend, it’s acceptable, but when I take a break from my essay to talk to him, it’s not?”

Yuuri gives a sharp nod of his head as he picks up his headphones.

“He’s my husband, so yes.”

So Victor had registered yuuristrophyhusband out spite when yuurikatsukistrophyhusband was also already taken. That user got a very angry email. Victor may have abused the "report user" feature. It's all a bit of a blur. Instagram locked his account for a couple hours and took away his verification. They thought he’d been hacked.

By the time the date appears on Victor’s wrist, he’s twelve years old and has decided that he must not have a soulmate at all. It’s uncommon, yes, but what other answer is there? Twelve years of watching his friends and rinkmates get their marks, pretending to admire the scrawling hand-written dates that surface on their skin on the day their soulmate is born. Many people are close enough in age to their soulmate that they don’t even remember their mark appearing at all, and, of course, half the population is born with a mark already in place, signifying their soulmate’s presence in the world before their own birth.

Not Victor. He’ll remember this moment for the rest of his life, watching with teeth gritted against the pain as sharp, dark handwriting blooms across the delicate, pale skin of his forearm.

He’s young enough that he doesn’t think about what the timing of this event means for the logistics of his life at first, but then puberty hits with a vengeance. Everyone he knows is pairing off, and suddenly he’s fourteen with inconvenient boners and wet dreams that leave him gasping, and the person he’s supposed to find true romantic love with is a literal toddler; then he’s seventeen, eighteen, and his soulmate is somewhere in the world graduating from preschool to kindergarten, and the loneliness that presses in around him gains weight and heft, holding him down to the surface of the ice. 

It would be better, he thinks, to have no soulmate at all - then he would be free to pursue whatever love he could find in this life, small and unsatisfying though it might be, instead of this endless waiting. Better nothing than the ongoing feeling that he’s betraying a trust he never asked for; better nothing than giving all his love, all his passion, to something as cold and unforgiving as his own heart.

Headcannons for Viktuuri week - day one (Other Careers)

Student Yuuri/ Shop owner Victor

Viktor is the owner of a small Coffee Shop at Brooklyn.

He likes baking all kind of new stuff and always inventing new kinds of flavors.

He have many customers, but there’s one that caught his attention.

It’s an Asian-like boy with black hair that go there everyday and always asks for cappuccino but also always asks for the daily special aka the new strange thing Nikiforov created.

What caught Viktor eyes is the fact that he always spend his time there reading what looks like big and complicated book while he eats.

It has nothing to do with the fact that he is gorgeous, of course .

One day he realizes that while ordering, the boy was holding a book with a dog that looked just like his beloved makkachin.

Viktor decides It's a divine signal “GO FOR IT” .

He waits until the boy finishes his cappuccino and offers more on the house.

He takes advantage of the situation to start a conversation and it ends up in a very interesting way to him.

He find out the boy’s name is Yuuri Katsuki, he is 23 years old and he is descendant of japanese, just like Viktor himself descends from Russian.

He also figure it out Yuuri is studying to become a biologist and he has a really pretty smile when his face is not hidden in books.

It becomes a routine, Yuuri would come and eat and they would talk about the silliest things and Yuuri would smile and laugh and each day would be better than the previous day.

One day he was making dinner when he let a plastic bag fall in the floor, before he knows what's happening, there’s a Makkachin eating it.

Did he let the door open? He never lets the door open...

He doesn't have a lot of time to think about it cause he have to take the thing out of the dog's mouth, but what he gets is only a part of it.

And soon he realizes makkachin is breathing hard, like he couldn’t breathe at all.

And he gets a little desperate now.

He doesn't know what to do,and then he ends up calling Yuuri.

He screams at the phone something about dog and plastic bag and Yuuri get in his place sooner than he expected, or maybe Viktor just doesn't have a right notion of time from the fear of his dog dying.

Yuuri put them in his car and took them to a vet clinic and that night he founds out yuri is the son of a veterinarian.

He should have seen this coming.

Mr.Katsuki then grabs Makkachin from Viktor’s arms and  heads towards a white door.

Viktor don’t know what to do so he sits in chair and stares nervously at a clock on the wall until Yuuri takes his hand saying that everything is going to be alright.

And then the Mr.Katsuki appears and say Makkachin will be alright.

So Viktor hugged Yuuri very hard, in part because he is relieved that his dog is alright, in part because he have been waiting to hug Yuuri for a while.

In the way home, he says Yuuri can ask him anything and Yuuri simply asks Viktor to go out with him.

He is blushing a lot and Viktor couldn't stop giggling about how cute he was.

He immediately accepted, of course.

They decided the date would be at Viktor’s shop

So they have their romantic dinner,that ends with kisses and petting healed dogs.

And it becomes a routine, Yuuri would come and eat and they would talk and they would kiss and each day would be better than the previous day.
