sometimes a family isn't a mom, dad, and kid. sometimes it's a tattoo artist with poor business management skills named hyde, hyde's emotionally stunted boyfriend who had his tattoo license revoked on ink master, their overeager turbotax accountant, david who is the most realistically portrayed bisexual fuckboy ever (played by king of acting zac oyama), david's very recent ex-boyfriend shawn, david's current situationship shawndra who's got perfect wrists, shawndra's brother quortney who's just sort of there for the ride, and a 19 year old trust fund kid with daddy issues

Just watched From Ally to Zacky
If you have dropout and haven’t watched it already, I highly recommend it.
With that said, I want to say how much the first segment felt like something perfect for making a sitcom out of.
In terms of setup, you have a struggling tatoo artist with no business sense, and an assistant who can’t legally tatoo anything because they got their license revoked from a freak out they had on Inkmaster. The rest of casts consists of a rich 19 year old who was tricked into buying the business so it can stay afloat, an overeager TurboTax representative who’s way too invested in the business, and customers bringing in their own situationship drama. This is the kind of thing I could see getting 10 episode seasons, 20-30 minutes a pop. Unfortunately, Netflix or whatever streaming service axes it after its second season, because it wasn’t getting enough attention due to the service failing to advertise it properly or just having fickle margins of success. However, the fans can take pride in knowing it ended on a high note. I know that’s a very specific vision to have but sometimes you just get those feelings.

Hi if you have a Dropout subscription, you need to watch From Ally to Zacky right now. It is so damn funny.
At one point, I was laughing so hard at a joke Ally made I missed several minutes of it and had to rewind.
If you need to laugh or smile, I cannot more highly recommend it.

"Los Angeles folks!
We’ll be filming a series of specials at @ElysianTheater starting next week (that will eventually be released on Dropout under the umbrella title "Dropout Presents") - and tickets are now available for all shows!"
So uh, yeah.
The specials are:
Chris Grace: "As Scarlett Johansson"
Courtney Pauroso: "Vanessa 5000"
Brennan Lee Mulligan & Izzy Roland: "Bigger" (improv)
From Ally To Zacky (improv) with Ally Beardsley, Zac Oyama, Kimia Behpoornia, Devin Field, Victoria Longwell, Oscar Montoya, Talia Tabin, and Jacob Wysocki
The Big Team (improv) Ify Nwadiwe, Ronnie Adrian, Zeke Nicholson, Ishmel Sahid, Carl Tart, Lamar Woods
They all filmed at the end of February 2024 and I am sure they will take a long time to finish editing.
But aaaaah!

Obligatory clip of the legal jokes and boring explanation of the innaccuracies from your local legal administrative assistant lol.
The only issue I see here is that as far as I know there are no states where a judge can sentence someone to solitary confinement. Generally solitary confinement is imposed by the correctional facility the defendent is housed in for a few different reasons:
as a way to punish the incarcerated individual for breaking a rule.
as a way to "protect" the incarcerated individual from other inmates.
as a way to "protect" the other inmates from the incarcerated individual.
For example, it's unfortunately common for transgender inmates to be placed in solitary confinement due to repeated abuse from other inmates.
I won't go into how horrible solitary confinement is since this is mostly a joke post, but there is information out there if you're interested and unaware of how solitary confiment can affect a person. I don't think this joke crosses the line - it reads to me as more a critique of our broken justice system - but I encourage everyone to be somewhat critical when these kinds of jokes appear as they sometimes reinforce our biases in negative ways. (for example, I lose a lot of respect for people who make "drop the soap" jokes because it's just a rape joke that for some reason most people have decided is socially acceptable because "criminals" don't get any sympathy.)
Just my two cents. Not a lawyer please don't take as legal advice.

I say it so much, but watching Zac, Jacob, and Ally all working together in the Game Changer cut for time episode really makes me want an all Yeti season of Dimension 20.. I also just really miss the Rotating Heroes Arc 3 crew
