So I made a thingy for vfvov!Mumbo’s outfit

Not sure if anyone else other than me will be able to tell what tf is going on in the diagram thingy (I don’t fully know the word for it but diagram fits good enough so eh) but I made it at tree thirty in the morning (which is the time it is currently as I am posting this) so y’know what I think I’m proud of it

Though I might wake up tomorrow in the morning

.. I might wake up at twelve in the morning and decide I hate this but I like it now so uh, fuck future me I think I dids good

I’m gonna call my Mumbo Jumbo hero/villain au ‘V for Vigilante or Villain?’ And I will not yet explain why

Others will probably disagree but I adore the idea of it being a bunch of villains and then just..Mumbo. Mumbo K Jumbo. The city rests on this man’s back and god the people have no idea the pathetic wet cat of a man (who is also one second away from collapsing) that is their protector

It is a pretty great idea/mental image. It also kinda makes me think of Gotham (even though they have other heros) and Batman. Which Mumbo did dress up as Batman in season eight, so that’s pretty funny

It’s also just a really different alternative for most superhero world aus you see. Most have lost of heros and a handful of villains, or an even amount of both. A lot have these government companies that specifically hires heros to do (legal and protected) work by helping people and fighting the villains

But I mean would that really happen? Or is it possible that literally everyone (besides maybe one or two heros/vigilantes) would be like ‘well someone will step up and fight the bad guys. That means I don’t have to do anything, and can just wait to be saved.’ (Which, valid mindset, but also not the best mindset)

Tbh tho if that’s the case Mumbo probably also had the same mindset. He just got roped up on something and then bam, people said he was a hero and he felt bad not helping after that

I have accidentally essentially added pokeballs to my vigilante Mumbo au and you know what? They will be referred to as such. They are Square Pokeballs curtsy of Mumbo K Jumbo

I’m making this schematic diagram thingy for vfvov!Mumbo’s costume (because I fukin’ love making picture diagrams for some reason, do not judge me) and I just realized how easy it would be to make those digitigrade legs

Well maybe not easy to make (if you don’t have metal or cables)- but very simple in concept. I mean you have the main two parts that connect the thigh and the calf, and then you have a cable to make sure these two things can actually more in a way that feels natural and gives weight to it as well as doing another thing that I can’t quite put into words?

And then you just the foot part, which for your actual foot you basically are just wearing a shoe without all the extra details. Like old leather shoes, almost, but with a bit more padding underneath. And then you just have the extension and the part at the end that acts as the foot. Which you can change the shape of. For instance something with a more curved foot almost like bowl would allow for more graceful movements or in some cases, likely agility

Then there are the foots that are hooked shaped kinda like the prosthetic feet meant for running. Which, logically, seems like it would probably allow you to run better

There’s also the more flat bottoms, which seem to usually be used when the stilt doesn’t go up to the thigh and only goes like half way up the calf. I imagine these would make walking in the stilts feel more natural, and would probably be easier to learn or get used to walking in

There’s also feet plates that are similar to the bowl but only go out in the front. Like a half bowl. Which I imagine would be a bit harder to balance in, but could potentially add height? Or at least let you stand up more straighter, I think

Anyway yeah this is all probably stuff other people don’t care about, and I know this is all really simple stuff, but I just haven’t thought about it until now and it just seems-

It’s so simple but so perfect. Y’know what I mean? It’s smart but also not, and I love it for that

regarding the vfvov au. im so normal you cant even imagine

do you think Mumbo is actually gracious but like only 50% of the time

whes hes his hero persona he moves so graciously as if exploding things with his cubic magic bombs is a dance and then he runs into a wall because he forgot to look where he's looking

do you think Scar and Grian are joking about how Mumbo couldnt be the new hero/villian persona despite their similar abilities just because the man is so clumsy, and then theres Mumbo in the background balancing 3 mugs, each filled with boiling hot tea in one hand, a spoon of sugar in his teeth and shooing away a stray cat he kept feeding so much to the point where it basicaly lives with him with the other hand? he manages to bring all that to the table, and nobody bats an eye, continuing the conversation about just how clumsy their friend is. and he doesnt argue.

Help me. Why am I struggling to name this so

I’m trying to think if I should make any other characters in vfvov a hero or vigilante or not. I mean there would of course be heros, but like should Grian or Scar - or one of the others be heros? (Mumbo wouldn’t know their identity but still)

I have two of the hermits being villains. But like, should I make some heros?

Or is it just Mumbo K Jumbo that’s out here fighting for his life

This is also, keep in mind, one possiblity. If any of you have any other ideas for literally anything involving this, please share. I would love to hear your ideas and thoughts on this silly little thing I am now attached to

I just realized, out of all the superhero or villain au’s I’ve seen for hermitcraft, none of them have Mumbo being a hero/villain. And I am now very curious to know what that would be like

I am, I doubt anyone would know he’s a hero/villain, but I feel like he wouldn’t be good at keeping it a secret either. Like I feel like the only thing keeping his friends and anyone else who knows him from finding out, is his personality

‘Surly, surly, Mumbo kills a lot Jumbo wouldn’t be capable of fighting. Gosh I mean, that’s just ridiculous. Pft common, no way Mumbo is the hero/villain, [name]. Like let’s be real for a moment’

And Mumbo is standing in the corner sweating profusely and blaming it on his outfit being too hot for the weather (no matter what outfit he has)

And then at night he just summons purple/pink floating magic square bombs that glow. And uses them well. Very well in fact, but he would never admit it and there’s no one to tell him how good he is with those square bombs. And even if there were he’d just blush and be like ‘naah, I can think of so many people who could do it better than me, really.’
