this has been stuck in my mind since my original post re: farrier!Remus so I finally took a stab at it! thanks for the prompt, I hope I did it justice! <3
A Horseshoe for Luck
Farrier!Remus Lupin x Veterinarian!reader who consults with Remus on a case [1.3k words]
CW: fem!reader, situation inspired by a horse who was lost for a few years and when found had severe overgrowth of his hooves (happy ending), don't look too closely at the plot if you're a Horse Girl (gn) thank you xx
Remus heaved in a sigh as he pulled down the long gravel driveway to his latest appointment.
He’d known there was a new vet in town, which came with a certain level of relief and a certain level of concern.
The rural coasts of Wales were no doubt hurting for Veterinarians (and service providers in general), but the communities were notoriously closed-knit and standoffish to ‘outsiders’ and were completely incapable of keeping newcomers around for any amount of time.
Every new vet that this village saw came from the city, and every new vet left after a measly year-or-two long stint max.
He couldn’t necessarily blame them; sometimes it took a local to manage the locals, but this left him with a certain level of distrust.
Too many times has Remus been called upon by the new city-sent vets just to be spoken down to or dismissed entirely because they believed that they knew better.
So, though he knew this vet would probably be much the same - some young, newly minted vet fresh out of school who had accepted the first available job they could find - he also knew that his area was in desperate need of a vet, and that he also had a job to do.
So he dutifully parked his truck and opened the cab to retrieve his tools when a frazzled looking tech approached him.
“You must be Mr. Lupin! I’m Hannah, I was the one who spoke to you on the phone.” She offered quickly.
“Just Remus s’fine. Was this a wild horse?” He asked, not interested in smalltalk as he followed her towards a large barn.
“No, not originally at least. The owners have been looking for him for two years and finally found him with a wild herd - managed to bring him back in.”
“Is he sound?”
“His hooves are in horrid condition - the doctor has done a preliminary check on the rest of him but would really like to get him some relief for his feet before she does anything more to him.”
“And who are they?” He asked as he passed a couple standing outside of the barn doors.
“The owners.” The tech - Hannah - offered quickly.
“Have they not seen their horse?” He asked, noticing that the tech hesitated before turning down the run where he could hear some activity.
“They have, but they were very anxious and excited to be reunited with him. The doctor felt that for an animal who has spent the last two years in a wild herd, it might be best to keep the area calm. I - erm, well, are you calm, Mr. Lup- erm, Remus?”
Remus let out a snort and nodded quickly. “Yeah, I’m pretty calm.”
Hannah smiled in relief as she turned the corner which exposed a large brown and white paint horse secured in cross ties. Standing at his head where there should be a stuffy city vet in a crisp white lab coat barking orders at various techs and stablehands was simply a woman (a very beautiful woman, Remus had to admit, though didn’t feel it was entirely professional to recognise), wearing dirty activewear with her hair messily pulled back and a stethoscope thrown over her shoulders as she murmured quietly to the horse.
Remus almost felt bad for the horse when Hannah interrupted your conversation with it to introduce you to Remus.
You accepted Remus’ handshake quickly without the usual stuffy-city vet hesitation to check for clean fingernails (he worked with the likes of sodding barn animals for christ sake, give him a break) and a warm smile that actually met your eyes as you looked into Remus’ (and into his soul, he was sure).
“Thank you so much for coming, Remus. I’ve heard great things about you since I’ve arrived, I’m only sorry I haven’t had a chance to make your acquaintance until now.”
“I’ve been eager to meet you as well.” Liar, Remus scolded himself immediately; though, had he known the new vet had been the likes of you? Well, maybe he would have been more eager. “So, the poor lad’s got some major overgrowth?” He asked as he looked at the horses hooves instead of admiring your figure like he’d much prefer to be doing.
“I can’t tell if there’s lameness because of an injury or if it’s just his instability on these hooves of his so I figured a trim was our next best step, but what do you think? Is there something I’m overlooking?”
Remus managed to mask his surprise at your collaboration with a simple farrier (versus what would have usually been orders given in a bored tone before the vet fucked off further into the barn only to come out in the end to inspect his work) by doing a walkaround as he felt the horses legs.
The horse seemed somewhat tense at the attention he was receiving, but quickly calmed when you began massaging around his neck and murmuring to him in a low, dulcet tone.
Fuckin’ hell, Remus was jealous of a horse.
“No, I think you’re quite right. Let’s get him onto more balanced footing and then you can work your magic.” He offered after his inspection, earning him a beaming smile from you in the process.
“Are we shoeing him?”
You tilted your head as you looked over at the horse as if waiting for him to respond. “What do you think?” You asked Remus instead. “A horseshoe for luck?”
And though Remus knew that you knew the shoes would really just provide more strength and protection for the equines hooves, he was not one to deny himself a chance at luck, so he quickly agreed.
“Do you mind an audience, or would you prefer if I left?” You asked then as you backed away from the horse to allow Remus to set up.
He normally preferred solitude; he was in this business because he, admittedly, found the company of animals far more enjoyable than that of humans, but he couldn’t deny that he wasn’t quite ready to have you leave his company yet.
So you sat - on the dusty, straw strewn flooring - as you watched Remus work; polite conversation inching further and further away from business as the job progressed. What started out as him asking how long you’d been out of school, what made you want to study veterinary medicine, ended up with what brought you here of all places.
“Peace…solitude. I wanted a quieter pace of life and to live somewhere where I could know the people around me instead of just knowing that there were people around me; does that make sense?” You asked then, allowing your head to loll to the side as you considered him.
“I think so; don’t usually find people running here though…most are running away.”
“Looking for a quicker pace of life?”
“Something like that.” He agreed as he finished up one hoof and moved onto another.
“But not you?”
“Not me.” He agreed.
“Why’s that?”
Remus paused at that, chancing a look at you and finding that to be a horrid mistake because he wasn’t sure he’d be able to return to his work when you were smiling at him that sweetly.
“I wanted peace…solitude. A quiet pace of life where I could know the people around me, I suppose.”
Your smile grew subtly at his rephrasing of your previous words. “Fair enough.”
The trim seemed to do the trick; the horse no longer showing any lameness in his legs as Remus watched you lunge him around the dusty arena alongside the very happy owners.
“What do you think, Remus? Did he look good?” You called to him as you handed the lead to the owners.
“Looked perfect.” He responded simply.
The horse, you, the rural coast of Wales now that you were here.
He found himself suddenly very happy to have a new vet in town, and hoped to all hell that you outlasted the many vets that came before you.

Vet!Chris taking you to an animal café and he has a little bit of a hard time getting you to leave …
Chris glanced at his watch, then at you, sprawled across the floor with a calico cat purring in your lap. “Alright, baby,” he said softly, crouching down next to you. “We’ve been here for two hours. I think it’s time we head out.” he states.
You didn’t even look up at him. Your fingers scratched gently behind the cat’s ears, earning a contented trill from the feline. “Five more minutes,” you mumbled, clearly enraptured by the small sea of animals around you. A golden retriever had settled at your feet, while a tiny rabbit hopped curiously near your hand.
Chris sighed, trying to hide his smile. He’d taken you to the animal café as a way to unwind after your stressful week, but he didn’t anticipate just how hard it’d be to pull you away. Not that he blamed you — seeing you so happy, your face lit up with childlike wonder, made it impossible for him to be annoyed.
Still, he had a schedule to keep. “Sweetheart, the café closes in fifteen minutes. You know we can’t just move in, right?” he said like it was the most obvious thing in the world — which it was.
You finally glanced up, your lower lip sticking out in a dramatic pout. “But Chris, look at them!” you gestured around at the assortment of animals, your voice full of longing. “They need love and cuddles! What if they miss me when I leave?” you whined, already feeling your chest tighten with the fact you had to leave them for the day.
He chuckled, reaching out to boop your nose gently. “I think they’ll survive, babe. Besides, don’t I give you enough cuddles at home?” You gave him a teasing look. “Not nearly as fluffy, though.”
Chris’ hand came up to his heart, like you had punched it. “Rude,” Chris shot back, feigning offense. “You’re hurting my feelings, baby.”
You giggled but stayed rooted in place, your hand now occupied by a curious kitten batting at your bracelet. Chris leaned back on his heels, watching you with an affectionate smile. “Okay, what if I make you a deal? We can come back next week, and I’ll buy you that strawberry boba you like on the way home. But only if we leave before the staff has to drag us out.”
You perked up at his offer, your lips twitching into a grin. “Promise?” he nodded his head, “I promise.” he said, placing a hand over his chest.
Reluctantly, you scooped up the calico cat one last time, giving it a soft kiss on its tiny nose. “Okay, but I’m holding you to that boba and next week’s visit.” you said, placing the kitty down as your hands reached out for Chris.
As he helped you to your feet, Chris wrapped an arm around your waist, pressing a kiss to your temple. “Well come back as much as you like, i promise. And of course i wouldn’t go back on my word, you know that baby.” he said, walking toward the doors as you gave a quick smile and wave to the workers.
“Yeah, i know..” you muttered, still a little bummed that you had to leave. Chris noticed, pressing another kiss to your temple as he held the door open for you.
“You know i love you, yeah?” he said, pulling his keys out and unlocking the car as he opened the passenger door for you. And you looked at him, smiling.
“I know.” you said, leaning over and pressing a kiss to his lips before situating yourself in the seat.

can you write about veterinarian!miguel and zookeeper reader? miguel’s so gentle with the animals despite his stature and it makes the zookeeper swoon. and the animals know so they pretend to be sick so that their zookeeper has to keep calling miguel.
veterinarian! miguel x zookeeper! reader
as a zookeeper, you couldn't help but be enamored by miguel’s gentle demeanor with the animals. despite his stature, he had a natural ability to handle them with care and compassion that warmed your heart. and it seemed that the animals knew it too. one by one, the animals under your care would somehow find themselves in need, even if it was just a small issue. fake illnesses, playful injuries, or simply wanting some extra attention, their antics kept you busy. and of course, calling upon Miguel became a regular occurrence.
you would dial his number and explain the situation, though you couldn't help but feel a mix of embarrassment and amusement. but miguel, being the dedicated veterinarian that he was, never complained. instead, he would rush to your side, ready to provide the necessary care and attention for your furry charges.
on one particular occasion, a mischievous monkey named milo decided to "twist" his tail, feigning an injury to get your attention. you couldn't help but chuckle at his antics, though you still felt the need to call in the expert opinion. miguel arrived at the enclosure, a warm smile on his face and a bag of medical supplies in hand. the animals, senses honed to their surroundings, watched with curiosity as miguel approached in his gentle, unhurried manner.
with his expertise and gentle touch, miguel examined milo, a comforting hand placed on the little monkey's back. he spoke softly, reassuring both the animal and you that everything would be alright. though Milo had feigned his injury, the care miguel provided was genuine, earning him the trust and admiration of both you and the animals.
as the day went on, you couldn't help but find yourself increasingly infatuated with miguel. watching him tend to the animals, showing each one patience and kindness, deepened your admiration for him. you admired his passion, his dedication, and the way he treated every creature, no matter how big or small, with respect.
but you were not alone in your sentiments. the animals seemed just as smitten, reacting to his presence with an air of excitement and contentment. they knew that he was a source of safety and healing, just as you had come to realize as well. and so, the cycle continued. the animals would find new inventive ways to garner your attention, and you would eagerly seek out miguel’s aid, savoring each opportunity to spend time with him. with every call and visit, the bond between you and miguel, and between him and the animals, grew stronger.
in the tapestry of your lives at the zoo, miguel’s presence became an integral thread. his gentle nature and dedication to healing created a harmonious atmosphere, not only for the animals but for you as well. and as the days passed, you couldn't imagine a better partner to care for the creatures that brought you both endless joy.

After a new job, relationship, and now an upcoming move to plan for, I’m FINALLY back to writing! Here we have, at long last, chapter four of Moth to a Flame! This story has taken so many turns and I have a million ideas, so there will be more chapters to come! For now, I hope you enjoy!
Here are the links to chapters one, two, three, and five!
Minor nsfw, no other warnings.
Moth to a Flame Chapter Four
“Having trouble, mesh’la?”
Boba Fett’s deep rasp had taken a uniquely playful tone as he walked beside you, the clinking of his spurs breaking the calm silence. He watched you carefully, brow raised, a knowing look in his dark eyes - eliciting yet another furious blush as you tried to regain your balance.
You’d fallen in love before, of course. Had your doomed relationships that went nowhere, leaving you with only a broken heart in their wake. But this? Stars, you’d never had a person make you feel like this.
Head still spinning from the kisses in the rancor pit, you’d nearly tripped as you ascended the palace steps.
“Oh, I’m fine, just clumsy,” you managed to right yourself and smirk at your own expense, “wouldn’t be the first time I’ve tripped on my own two feet.”
But it’s the first time I’ve fallen this hard…
You almost said it. Almost voiced the roaring thoughts in your head, but they were locked behind your lips - past experiences and fears strong enough to curb your tongue.
“Then we’ll use precaution,” Boba extended a gauntleted arm with a smooth flourish as he walked beside you. “Allow me.”
“Such a gentlemen,” you placed your hand on his arm and he chuckled, the sound warming your chest and making you weak-kneed all over again.
You snuck a glance at him as you both passed a set of windows, the moonlight filtering through the hewn stone, illuminating the pathway beyond. Your jaw nearly dropped when you saw his green armor glinting in the pale lighting, which cast a silvery sheen onto his eyes and skin. Maker, he was gorgeous. His broad frame overshadowed yours, study and resolute - the build of a warrior. Every scar, every muscle spoke of a life spent as a vicious bounty hunter, someone many still feared. This once again served as a reminder of the danger he posed - not merely for the weapons he carried, but for the weapon he was.
And yet, he was gentle with you.
“Like what you’re seeing?” His voice was soft, softer than you’d expected for someone of his reputation, and you frowned, noting a hesitation there.
If you didn’t know any better, you’d suspect that Boba Fett, of all people, doubted his worth. For all the power, grace, and confident charm he exuded, you suspected there were many wounds hiding behind those honeyed brown eyes.
“Always,” you gripped his arm tighter as if that alone could reassure him, to help him see the truth you were discovering. “How could I not?”
The beskar was cool to the touch - but it didn’t frighten you. Relief, not dread, washed through you as your fingers ghosted over chips in the paint. You felt grateful for the armor that kept him safe, helped him stay alive all those years to be here, now…with you.
He hummed, brows furrowed in thought. For a moment, he seemed so far away - mind lost in the spiraling galaxy above. You didn’t know what dwelled in that mind, but stars, you wanted to learn, to dive deep into vastness that was as wide as space itself. Wanted to help him see he wasn’t alone, as he’d shown you.
“Thank you…for everything.” You finally spoke, voice equally soft, and he regarded you with a gentle stoicism you now understood to be rapt attention. “I’m not…used to this. I’ve done what I can to care for the animals, my friends…but I’m just…me. I’ve never caught the attention of anyone important.”
His dark brow flicked up as he silently helped you up the next flight of steps, lips set firmly as he guided you through his palace. It was ironic, that after all these years of fearing the likes of Jabba the Hutt and Bib Fortuna, you found yourself exploring the halls of their former home with the new Daimyo. Someone who, unlike them, was fair and just - walking beside you in thoughtful silence.
It was a peaceful quiet, really.
Contemplative, even. In truth, you didn’t mind - it was comforting in the way a mountain would assuredly always stand. The way the stars shone in the sky, lighting your path home in the dark. True as the suns and moons that blazed above in celestial wonder. Boba Fett was only a man, you knew - but he felt like something eternal.
“You intrigued me the day we met.” When he finally spoke, he was achingly somber, those dark brows furrowed in thought as he led you down an adjacent hallway. “I’ve been alone for…a long time. Didn’t think that would ever change. Took weeks for Fennec to convince me to return.”
Weeks? You found it difficult to picture this big, broad bounty hunter being afraid of anything - much less your rejection.
“Stars Boba, I’m not scary. Sure, I was frightened at first when you stopped by,” you shrugged with a small grin, meeting his waiting gaze. “Think about it - the most renowned bounty hunter, now our Daimyo, back from the dead, walking into my clinic.”
“Didn’t wish to frighten you.” He looked away, fumbling with the helmet tucked at his side as if looking for a means of escape.
You noted the rigid posture, the squared shoulders, the armor that went much deeper than beskar draped over his heart. A heart that, despite all the things he’d done, the blood he’d spilled, had always been something soft…something wanting love. It broke you, to see it - a soul so akin to your own despite your vastly different experiences. Perhaps you weren’t the only one who bore inner scars still mending.
“Boba.” You stopped, waiting for him to do the same, softening your voice the way you would for a pacing, caged animal. You didn’t see him that way, of course, but you recognized when someone felt trapped.
He paused, shifting on his heels to face you, expression guarded, a great weight lingering in his eyes. And damn it all, those eyes were an ocean, one you’d willingly drown in. There was a wisdom there, beyond his years, a depth of pain that spoke of decades of trauma and loneliness. Stars, you wanted nothing more in than moment than to love him so fiercely, so wholly, he could set it all aside - if even for a moment.
Maker, what all had this devastatingly beautiful, broken man endured?
“I’m not afraid. In fact, you’ve captured my heart, I think.” You dared to speak your mind, smiling nervously as you forced yourself to continue. “You have since you first set foot in my clinic.”
Boba’s eyes locked onto you, gleaming in the moonlight, and you swore to the stars you saw hope.
“The feeling,” his lips curved in a fond, yet sad, smile - watching you with such intensity you felt his gaze bore into your very soul. “Is mutual.”
You could only nod, so moved by the dualities of his gentleness and strength as he resumed leading you down a hall you recognized, the one that led to the dining room.
The truth was, you’d been alone for so long.
His words both warmed your heart and left an ache lingering in your chest. In your experience, good things didn’t last. You’d lost much in your life, and you couldn’t help but wonder…would you lose this, too?
“You’re quiet,” Boba’s voice rumbled through you as he led you into the dining room. “Something wrong?”
You blinked, realizing you felt so comfortable with him that you had slipped deep into your thoughts. Whether he knew it or not, he’d proven to be safe enough for you to lower your guard - and that didn’t happen with many.
“No,” you regarded him with a smile, finding him watching you with rapt attentiveness. Once again, the hunter in him was too keen - something you were still adjusting to…but he deserved the truth. “I don’t…have much of a family. You’ve been so kind, and I enjoy your company, I just don’t want it all to…”
Silence fell as the words cut off in your throat, as if held by back an invisible fist around your neck.
He led you to the vast spread of food, pulling out a chair for you in silence. He sat at the head of the table beside you, graciously waiting for you to gather your thoughts. You didn’t want to admit it - admit that you were afraid. Not of him anymore, no, but of losing him. That mental shift had happened quickly - very quickly, you might add - and it forced you to face the real question at hand. Stars, had you already fallen in love with Boba Fett?
“Look at me, sweet girl.”
Boba’s voice was soft, rumbling through you like a caress, prompting you to meet his gaze. You found a raw adoration in those amber shot eyes, so intense it left you breathless.
“There’s no hidden motive,” he placed a hand over yours, gloved fingertips lightly caressing your knuckles. “We’ll take things however slow, or at whatever pace, that you wish.”
You nodded, and his lips curled in an easy smile that made your heart race, but his gaze still held a note of seriousness that commanded your attention.
“I’ve no intentions of walking away,” he raised a brow, moving to lift his hand from yours. “Unless you ask me to.”
You mourned the loss of his touch and fought the urge to lean forward and take his hand back in yours, heartbeat still pounding in your ears as you shook your head.
“I’d never ask that,” you smiled, fears melting away. His mere presence did that - cutting away the darkness in your mind. “So I suppose you’re stuck with me, my Daimyo.”
“With a beauty such as you?” He lifted a cup in his big hand and raised it to his lips with a devilish smirk, voice impossibly husky. “If I’d ever be so lucky.”
You watched him drink, eyes locked on you, and couldn’t help but squirm under his gaze. It was intense, to feel so captured, and yet so at home.
“Please, eat,” he gestured at the spread of food, armor glinting in the firelight. “Look like a princess in that dress.”
Heat blossomed on your cheeks as you raised one of the cups to your lips, the wine smooth and sweet on your tongue.
-
You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol, the food, his close proximity, or all three - but you felt nearly euphoric as you and Boba conversed well into the night.
It quickly became apparent that he was brilliant…more brains then you’d expected from a man with his brawn. Stoic and direct, but with a surprisingly dry, humorous side - he never missed an opportunity to compliment you, his smirks and light touches sending you spiraling deeper and deeper into an abyss that you never wanted to escape.
“I’m still curious about the nexu,” Boba crossed his broad arms, leaning back into his chair, brow slightly raised as he regarded you with a small, crooked smile. “What do you plan to do with her once she’s older?”
“They’re native to thick jungles and heavily forested areas, but adapt well to new environments.” You took another sip of your wine and shifted in your seat, suddenly wishing he was closer, that he’d kiss you again. “I’m hoping to train her, and eventually build her a nice, big enclosure.”
“Tell me if you need assistance,” he set down his fork and wiped his bare fingers clean with a napkin, and a very, very traitorous part of you watched those thick, yet nimble digits with another blush. “The animals deserve good lives.”
Think about the topic. Think about your nexu. Don’t let your mind wander… you swallowed, nodding, glancing away and taking another gulp of wine. Gods, you were in trouble. Kriff, kriff, kriff, he’s so attractive. I just want to…
“I…thank you,” cheeks burning, you shifted again to press your thighs together in a sad attempt to alleviate the ache in your core, and his gaze flitted over you like a caress - those dark, beautiful eyes flecked with gold locking on you with intense focus.
Damn it all, of course he’d notice. He was a bounty hunter, the best bounty hunter - he knew how to observe people. And right now, you were hopelessly tipsy bordering on drunk, and he was reading you like a book.
“You seem distracted…something the matter?” He quirked a brow, the corner of his lip curved in a sly smirk. “You can tell me, mesh’la.”
Oh gods, the man was toying with you. You’d willingly walked right into the hunter’s snare…and he knew it. He had you right where he wanted you, and you couldn’t have been happier.
“Oh, I…I’m fine,” heat crawled over your ears, and you knew you were blushing, dipping your head down to take another sip of your wine, the potent wine loosening your tongue. “You’re just…so beautiful. That’s all.”
Boba fell silent, and for a moment you worried you’d offended him. You anxiously glanced back up, only to find his trademark scowl replaced by a uniquely shocked expression.
“You mean that?” His tone was gruff, brows lowering with confusion, he gestured at his face with a shrug. “Even though I’m…this scarred?”
Oh maker, you wanted to hug him. Kiss him senseless and show him just how attractive you thought he was.
“Of course I do,” you leaned forward, subtly scooting your chair closer to his, heartbeat pounding like a drum. “What a silly thing to say. Scars don’t make people ugly, they’re signs of survival. Marks of honor. And yours make you stunning.”
The sound that emitted from deep in Boba Fett’s chest was the closest thing to a strained groan you’d ever heard him make. And gods, it nearly sent you spiraling. You shifted closer to the edge of your seat, breath snagging in your throat when he scooted his chair back and regarded you, head tilted to the side, legs spread, fingers steadily tapping the armrest as if he were on his throne. If you hadn’t already been blushing, your face was assuredly as red as the suns when he shifted his hand and patted his muscled thigh, voice a beckoning purr.
“Come here, little one. Take a seat.”
Oh. Good. Gods.
How the kriff were you even supposed to move? And yet you stood before your speeding thoughts could process the actions, moving on wobbly legs to stop before him.
He regarded you with a stern expression, save for the glimmer of a smile in his eyes, a subtle softness which prompted you to sit on his thigh. A strong arm curled around you, hand resting comfortably at your hip, holding you securely against him even as a chuckle rumbled from his chest, sending more heat curling to your core.
“You’re the beautiful one. So perfect.” He lifted a hand to caress your jaw, touches feather light as he explored your skin. “This okay?”
“Yeah,” you nodded, voice hoarse, heart pounding so loud you wondered if it would burst. “You, you’re…”
“I’m what, princess?” He shifted, and your cheeks burned when you felt his hardened arousal solid like durasteel beneath you. “Remember what I told you earlier, sweet flower - use your words.”
You nodded, daring to lean further against his chest, closing the remaining distance between you, the contradictory coolness of the beskar and warmth of his body oddly comforting. Kriff, the things you’d only do with Boba.
“You’re…unlike anyone I’ve met before.” You took a breath, trying your best to gather your thoughts as his fingers traced circles over your skin, nearly sending your poor brain into a mad spiral. “You make me feel safe.”
He nodded, a certain pride shining in his eyes at that, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to your pulse point. He lifted a hand to your face, fingers caressing your bottom lip, hesitating. You dared to flick out your tongue over his finger, and he growled, dropping his hand to your chin and guiding you into another kiss with more rumbled praise.
“Good girl.”
You whimpered against him, you couldn’t help it, core clenching around nothing even as heat pooled between your legs. Just the fact of knowing that he was so close, that he was affected by you too, made your thoughts blur until you no longer knew what end was up. And yet he was so, so strong, holding you as he deepened the kiss. Protective, ensuring you wouldn’t fall. Respectful, always waiting for you to take the next step.
“Liked that, hmm?” Boba drug his lips along your cheek, warm breath washing over your skin. “Tell me if I should stop.”
“Please don’t,” your voice was nearly breathless as you tried to string your words together. “Please…”
He hummed, kissing your neck, then your jawline, dragging his lips up to capture yours. You leaned into him, deepening the kiss, shifting so you were straddling his lap. He grunted, pressing a hand to the small of your back, guiding your hips in a slow grind.
It had admittedly been a while since you’d been with someone. And there’d been a reason…a reason you’d elected to ignore for the moment. Trauma be damned - you wanted this with Boba, wanted him. So you ignored the flare of panic spiking in your chest like an errant flame.
This was Boba. He was safe.
He wanted you to feel protected, even now.
So you moved with him like you imagined water would flow, following his movements, letting him guide you. You ground against his length, eliciting a deep groan from the Daimyo, and dared to press kisses along his powerful jawline and down his neck. His own kisses were all encompassing, demanding, yet soft as you explored him, slowly lowering a wandering hand to his pants.
“Mesh’la,” Boba’s voice was impossibly gruff, yet direct enough to get your attention. You stopped your advancements, looking up at him with a frown. “You’re drunk. Don’t wanna make you do anything you’ll regret.”
“You’re not…I want this,” you pressed a kiss to the corner of his lip, anxiety worming it’s way into your chest. “Unless you don’t…”
Boba wrapped both of his arms around you and held you flush with his armored chest, amber gaze dark, locked on you.
“I want you, ad’ika.” He caressed your cheek with the back of his hand, the light touch sending a shiver down your spine. “Been a bit since I’ve been with someone. Wanna do it right.”
Heat flared in your cheeks and you looked away, swallowing hard, head still spinning.
“Yeah…it’s been some time for me, too.”
Boba’s fingers found your chin, gently lifting your face to meet his. As always, he bore his trademark sternness, brows lowered, gaze intense, as he seemed to observe you from a new lens.
“Your former partners…they didn’t care about you.” He spoke gently despite the severity of his expression, thumb gently caressing your throat, a reminder that there was no judgement - no shame.
And it hadn’t been posed as a question.
“Well,” you sighed, a weight in your chest resurfacing and threatening to pull you under. “No…”
He nodded, lips pursed in thought, thumb still stroking your neck.
“You deserve better,” he finally gave you a warm smile, a softness you hadn’t expected dancing in his eyes. “When the time comes, if you’ll have me, I’ll ensure you’re never left wanting again.”
Stars, his gentleness and caring words nearly made you want to cry. You managed to nod, still too overcome by the influx of emotions to speak. He gently rubbed your back, and you curled against him, held securely in his arms.
“We’re all fighting our pasts,” he kept his voice low, soft, soothing - similar to the way you’d been with him earlier. “We can learn to heal together.”
You nodded, tucking your chin against his neck, and closing your eyes with a soft sigh. He held you close in a comfortable silence, as if he understood more than you’d expected.
Every single day, you’d fought. Endured, to be strong. Struggled for everything you had, for the name you’d made for yourself and your clinic. Sacrificed so much for the animals you loved. And for the most part, you’d done it all alone. But now…perhaps you didn’t have to.
“I…” you finally spoke, albeit hesitantly - stars, how were you supposed to explain trauma? “Thank you…”
“Should be thanking you for giving an old bounty hunter a chance,” he held you close, resting his chin over your head in a gesture you swore was protective. “You’ve had a lot to drink. If you want that, let’s wait for a special occasion, hmm?”
“Okay.” You gripped his arm tighter, pressing a kiss to his knuckles. “Because I do want that. With you. I just…have my own demons to face.”
“We’ll face them together,” he ran a hand through your hair with a gentle caress.
You nodded, snuggling against him, a heaviness settling in your bones as exhaustion slowly took you over.
“C’mon little one, let’s get you home.” Boba’s voice rumbled sweetly through you, and you nodded, letting him gather you in his embrace.
-
By the time you made it back to the clinic, Boba helped you upstairs to your rooms, a hand at your back, ensuring you wouldn’t fall.
You were too tired to worry about the presentability of your home, letting him guide you to your bed without a single fleeting concern. Once you were nestled under your covers, he stood at your bedside like some kind of green armored guardian angel, a softness in his gaze that contradicted his powerful physique.
“Boba…” you wearily reached for him, words starting to slur. Damn, you were drunk. And exhausted. But for the first time in a while, you felt happy.
“What is it?” He raised a brow at you, gently taking your hand in his.
“Please…stay? Just…wanna be close.” You held onto his hand as tightly as you could. “You make me feel safe. Please?”
He was silent for a moment, and just as you began to worry he’d refuse, he reached up and fiddled with one of his pauldrons, removing the piece of armor with practiced ease. You watched him remove that legendary beskar that kept him safe, that marked his identity, all too aware of the implied trust in the moment.
The bed depressed with his weight as he joined you under the covers, clad in his undershirt and pants. He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close to his chest, thundering heartbeat melodious to your ears.
“This okay?” His voice was soft, so achingly gentle it made you want to kiss him again.
“It’s perfect,” you twined your legs with his, feeling so warm and protected, your anxieties melting away. “Thank you.”
He hummed a response, a hand carding through your hair, lulling you to sleep.
“Goodnight, mesh’la.” His voice was gentle, soothing, as your consciousness faded to black. “You’re safe with me.”

Sachirō Hirugami x Reader ''A Change Is Gonna Come''
College life has been lonely and tiresome ever since you started studying biology and chemistry.
So you do what most lonely girls in college do.
You get a pet.
Specifically a cat.
A cat with half of her right ear missing, along with her left eye. She is your everything, even though she has only been with you for three weeks since you picked her up from the local shelter.
Her raven-black fur looks very slightly brown in the sunlight every time she would lay on the window sill next to the venus flytrap plants.
In the beginning, she would not leave her transport box, hissed and tried to scratch you, whenever you got close to try and pet her.
Now, she is the most cuddly cat.
If you think about it, she has been more affectionate than usual. Rubbing against you, the wall, the chair, your fridge and even the fricking toilet.
She meows loudly in the night, driving you insane.
Now if you never had a cat in heat before, then you don’t know what hell on earth is.
Kaizoku, the name you have given her, is getting on your last nerve.
Thankfully due to your majors, you realized that Kaizoku is in heat.
Every cat owner’s worst nightmare, besides their pet getting pregnant unplanned.
Thanks to the lucky stars, a small vet clinic is just five blocks down the road, a very young owner who’d just graduated veterinary school.
Making an appointment for a previous check up for a future neutering appointment for Kaizoku, you make your way to the vet next Tuesday morning.
The morning you get up earlier to make it on time for the appointment, it seems like the little devil has vanished into thin air.
Seriously, you can’t find her anywhere!
You checked the shower, under all your furniture and even stepped on your counters to check on top of the cabinets.
It’s getting real close to the appointment time, you have to be there 15 minutes prior to sign in, it’s what the vet clinic requests.
Now you’re getting pissed.
‘’ZOKU!” You yell out in frustration.
All of sudden, a small light bulb pops up in your head.
You just remembered that the little furball LOVES cheddar cheese.
As you pretend to make a sandwich and take the cheese out of the fridge, you rustle the plastic extra loud on purpose, hoping she will come out.
And just like magic, there she pops up magically on the counter, looking at the food in your hand.
Giving her a small piece, you cautiously walk backwards to grab the carrier box for her.
Still with her chewing, you feel the side handle of it, crouching down to grab it and hide it behind your back.
Sneaking up from behind, you gently grab her and she tries to run away.
Grabbing her front legs with one hand and her back legs with the other, Kaizoku begins biting your fingers, making you almost yell out in pain but quickly shoving her naughty ass into the box, quickly closing it so she can’t escape.
Huffing out a big breath, you look at the clock on the wall and you’re about to faint when you realize, it’s in less than 10 minutes.
Grabbing the transport box, you basically sprint down the stairs in your apartment building, almost giving Kaizoku a heart attack.
Quickly getting into your small car, you try to minimize your lateness with going a little bit over the speed limit.
Finally arriving in the parking lot in front of the vet clinic, you get out and see that your cat’s eyes are insanely enlarged, hissing when you check on her.
‘’Alright, let’s do this.”
When you walk through the door, the bell above the door chimes with a cute tingle noise.
As you look around, only three people are sitting in the waiting area on the sides, with the front desk in the middle, where a blonde woman in cat scrubs is typing something on a computer.
You clear your throat and she greets you with a sunny smile.
Signing in on the clipboard on the counter, you sit on the left while the other two people across from you have a dog each on a colorful leash.
One dog is a big German shepherd that has a cone on its head with one leg wrapped in a cast.
The other dog is a lot smaller and he keeps growling at the other dog.
Kaizoku begins meowing in distress, you try to calm her down by gently talking to her.
Thankfully one of the employees calls you in immediately, telling you to follow her.
Getting up from the chair, you follow her and thank her for holding the door open for you.
Walking along the hallway you see multiple doors on the left and right side.
She stops on one of the right doors, pushing it open to let you in and tells you that the vet will be right in.
You look around in the examination room, seeing two anatomy posters of a cat and a dog on one side of the wall, with a small computer and a desk on the other side of the room.
Below the posters is a long metal table and you put the carrier box down and check on Kaizoku again.
She has her backside facing you, as if she is trying to show you the middle finger to taking her here.
Scanning some of the bones and muscles of the cat, a firm knock interrupts your reading.
A tall man with light brown hair walks in, some of his wavy hair rests on his forehead, the same color in his eyes.
He has a strong build, his light blue scrubs hugging his figure perfectly.
When he looks from his clipboard to you, he greets you with a billion dollar smile, introducing himself.
„Hi, I am Dr. Sachirō Hirugami. What can I do for you today?“ He rubs his hands from the disinfectant on the wall, taking a small peek inside the carrier box.
Calming yourself a little bit, you explain your problem to him.
„Well this is Kaizoku. I got her from the local shelter. She was a rescue from a former abusive pet owner. I have had her for almost a month now and I think the shelter forgot to mention that she is not neutered. She meows over day, at night and it’s slowly driving me mad.“
He laughs a bit at your explanation and my gosh his laugh is a voice sent straight from heaven.
It’s soft and honest and you can’t help but blush at his reaction.
„Sounds to me like Mrs. Kaizoku is in heat. And I am guessing you want to spay her?“ He smiles knowingly.
Nodding to confirm, you hope it’s not going to cost too much….
Hirugami opens the cage door and you hear a loud hissing noise.
Your heart begins to drop, you start to sweat a bit from your anxiety about what Kaizoku will do.
All you see is a black little arm trying to scratch Hirugami‘s hand.
Quickly retracting his hand, he begins to laugh at her antics.
„I am SO sorry about her behavior! I hope she didn’t get you.“ You frantically begin to apologize for your cat‘s crude behavior.
He friendly waves you off, saying it’s his job to deal with animals and he loves treating them.
Taking off the top of the box, you see Kaizoku huddled in the corner of the transport box, ears completely flat and you hear a faint growl coming from her.
Hirugami thinks for a few seconds before reaching into one of the drawers behind him, pulling out a little thin tube that looks like paste that cats can lick from, like a treat basically.
So he’s trying to bribe her and gain her trust, that’s a good approach.
Opening up the little tube, he squishes out a bit and carefully holds it out for her to sniff.
Kaizoku very cautiously moves forward, sniffing it with big round eyes, very soon starting to lick it a few times before deciding to like it.
Like A LOT.
You see her pupils getting a bit smaller, her small body visibly relaxing and you can feel yourself relaxing as well.
Gently giving her head scratches with his other big hand, he gives her a soft smile and quietly says „See? I am not so bad.“
His actions towards your cat makes your heart warm and your head fuzzy.
I mean, your vet IS hot, no one is going to deny that.
Making sure he did earn her trust, he gently takes her out of the transportation box, petting her along her chin.
The next thing you hear is deep purring and you can’t believe your ears or your eyes.
Inwardly scoffing at her all-of-sudden friendly behavior she looks highly in bliss and you can’t believe that you’re getting jealous of a fricking cat.
Untangling his stethoscope from his neck, he listens to her heartbeat, her bowel movement, her lungs and checks for any abnormalities around her body.
You’re a little worried when he looks into her eye and wants to see her mouth that she will try to scratch or bite him, nothing happens.
It’s like she is under a calming spell, not aggressive at all towards the vet.
Still in disbelief, he puts his stethoscope back around his neck and gives you a charming smile while picking Kaizoku up and petting her as he holds her close to his chest.
“Alright, what’s your magic trick?” You ask in suspicion as you watch Hirugami with squinted eyes.
He laughs and your suspiciousness, setting the black feline back into its kennel.
Walking over to the disinfectant bottle holder, Hirugami disinfects his hands and leans against the counter to talk to you.
“So from what I have observed so far, Kaizoku is a very healthy cat. You still want to spay her? Is that your final decision?”
You nod in confirmation.
Nodding his head he takes his clipboard from the wall and tells you to make a new appointment with the front desk, giving you a small wink before he leaves the examination room.
Blushing a bit, you close up the kennel door and take Kaizoku with you again to the front desk.
The same lady from earlier gives you a bright smile, along with a folded note attached to the apartment card for the next check up.
“What’s this?” You ask while pointing to the folded note.
The lady looks up from her computer, shrugging and continuing to type down.
“Dr. Hirugami told me to attach that note to your appointment card.”
“Oh uhm, okay. Thank you, have a good day.” You say as you exit the veterinarian clinic with Kaizoku.
Putting her in the passenger seat and strapping the kennel, you make your way around the car to get in the driver’s side.
As you take the note to unfold it, you read over it with wide eyes and a blush.
“I can’t wait to see you again, I know I meant to check out Kaizoku but your irresistible looks have bewitched my heart. Until next time, kitten.”

Cosmos: I don’t always make great decisions under pressure.
*flashback*
{Justice and R/n stare at Cosmos blankly, after sending him to the grocery store to buy ground beef and a Taco kit.]

NNN - vet!chris sturniolo - adopting a furry friend
You knew that with chris’ job as a veterinarian, it came with lots and lots of visits from shelter animals. Some who were on their last few moments, some who were looking for their forever homes, or some who were getting ready to go to their forever homes.
It always shattered you whenever you heard chris talking about how he felt so sad for those who have been waiting for months and months to find their homes. Always sitting there and offering comfort and supports for him.
Though, there was one time chris had taken you to the shelter with him when he had to pop by on his day off — just to check up on a pregnant dog to make sure she and her pups were doing okay. While you were there, you had wandered off — walking to the section where all the other dogs were kept at. You stopped by each one of their enclosures, reading their names and greeting them.
But, when you had gotten to this particular dog — you couldn’t help but feel attached to her already. She was a beautiful chocolate lab, her face sweet and gentle. You crouched down, looking at her paper as you stuck your hand out to her. Her name was Honey, and she was only 2 years old.
Her cold wet snout bumped against your hand, tail wagging excitedly as you interacted with her. You smiled, cooing at her. “Who’s a good girl? yeah you are, such a pretty baby.” you giggled as her tongue came out and licked your hand. You were so caught up in petting her and praising her — that you didn’t hear chris come up to stand behind you.
He watched the scene in front of him, your kindness to the little lab and how happy she seemed to make you. Chris’ hand reached out, softly being placed on your shoulder which made you jump a little. “Sorry baby, didn’t mean to startle you.” chris said, apologizing as he crouched down next to you.
You just smiled, mumbling something as you turned back to the puppy. “Isn’t she pretty chris? can we get her? please?” you asked, turning your head back to look at him — trying to give the best puppy dog eyes you could.
Chris smiled, but sighed. “I’m afraid we can’t babe…they uh — they’ve got a family coming in to look at her.” he admitted, feeling a pang of guilt strike his chest as he saw your features falter.
“Oh..” you muttered, frowning as your hand landed a few more pets across Honey’s fur. “Well Honey…it was nice to meet you when i could.” you whispered, pulling your hand away and standing up. You gave chris a look that told him you were ready to go, and he gave a sad smile, following you out to the car.
-
That had been a month ago, and to say you didn’t think about Honey would be a lie. It just felt like something was there when your eyes landed on her for the first time. You didn’t let it get in the way of your daily life, but it did gnaw away at you a little.
Currently, you were curled up on the couch — flipping through channels and streaming platforms to find something to watch while you waited for chris to get home from work. But, nothing was really catching your eyes. After a while, you gave up, tossing the remote aside as you pulled your phone out to scroll on tiktok or whatever app seemed to catch your interest in the moment.
Just as your finger hovered over the instagram app, you heard keys jingling in the door. The sound making your head snap in that direction, the sound chris stepping in through the door echoing through out the house.
“Baby? you down here?” his voice called out. You replied with a quick ‘yeah’ as his footsteps came closer to the living room. When he saw you, a huge smile cracked across his face — you were confused as to why he was so happy.
“Are you decent enough to go somewhere with me?” he asked quickly, and you just nodded slowly. “Yeah? but where are we going?” you responded, shuffling the blankets off of you and getting up from the couch. Chris didn’t respond, he just walked toward you — quickly grabbing your hand and tugging you toward the front door to where your shoes were. You were so confused, he was obviously in a hurry but you didn’t know why.
“You’ll see, now get your shoes on baby. I’ll be in the car waiting, okay?” was all he said before slipping back out the front door, leaving you to get your shoes on and your bag.
The drive was silent for the most part, only little broken conversations speaking here and there. Though, your eyes immediately recognized where you were when chris pulled the car into the parking lot of the animal shelter.
Your head turned to look at him, his eyes focused on finding a parking space. “Chris, why did you bring me here?” you asked, the sadness already laced into your voice. He smiled, “You’ll see, i promise you’re going to love what i have for you.” You sighed, waiting for chris to park the car.
Once the car was parked and the engine was killed, you stepped out. Chris already coming around to your side to loop your arm through his. He guided you toward the front entrance, stepping in through the automatic sliding doors. It smelt like animals and cleaning supplies, just like last time. But this time, the sound of whining and clanking could be heard.
Your brows furrowed, turning the small corner with chris when your eyes landed on a very familiar chocolate colored puppy. You paused, stopping where you were at as your eyes went wide and flicked to chris. “C-chris? what’s this?” you asked, already feeling the overwhelming emotions bubbling in your chest.
“Well, the family that had checked her out decided they didn’t want her…and so when i had to come back to do some more check ups, i noticed she was still here and-“ he took a deep breath, slinging his arm around your shoulders and pressing a soft kiss to your temple. “-i got her for you.” he whispered against your hair.
You gasped, the tears welling up in your eyes quickly. “Really? You’re being for real?” you squeaked out, and he nodded. “She’s all yours baby.” You smiled, the tears now falling down your face as you quickly hugged him and then made your way over to where the worker was holding Honey on a leash. You knelt in front of her and took her face into your hands, peppering kisses to her fur as she gave you kisses in return.
“You’re such a good baby, i’m going to take such good care of you-“ you sniffled, bringing her onto your lap. “-we’re going to take such good care of you.” you corrected yourself, look back at chris as you held Honey in your arms.
You couldn’t have asked for a better gift — or a better boyfriend.

Part 4 coming (I don't even know if I put enough A in ANGST)
Okay before you start reading I apologise for Kazutora's behavior here, I was writting that scene with a pain in my heart.
July 2 2018
Just another day at work, people were bringing various types of pets to your office beside cats and dogs, sometimes even birds, bunnies/rabbits and hamsters, it was a surprise to you that none of those hamsters died yet but you held yourself back from giving any comments. As you were preparing your office for the next patient you heard knocking on the door, you looked at the door just to see a familiar face. "Kazutora, you almost gave me a heart attack!" for a moment you thought you saw a deadman but didn't tell him that, for another time you almost mistook him for Baji's ghost. "Sorry dear... But I have an emergency here" he said showing a box with a black coughing kitten in it "I couldn't just leave the poor thing like this and its parents didn't seem to be anywhere nearby. I watched it for about an hour." after hearing all this you couldn't delay the visit so you decided to help Kazutora treat the kitten before letting him take it to pet adoption center. Kazutora watched you give the kitten shots and pills with a very serious expression mixed with anxiety. You decided to do full health control just to make sure that the kitten wasn't seriously ill, as you checked its eyes you noticed something odd about it, brown eyes. "Doesn't it remind you of Baji?" you asked Kazutora without giving it a second thought. Kazutora looked at the kitten "In addition it's a boy. Do you think I can keep him?" he asked you still watching the kitten. You gave it a thought "If anyone who knew Baji will find out about this cat they would like to keep him just like Kazutora", this made you worry that all of those people who were really close with Baji would get obsessively overprotective about the kitten. "Kazutora, would you bring all of Baji's closest friends here? I will keep it safe I promise." you needed to see everyone who were ever closely associated with Baji to decide if the kitten should be staying with anyone from Toman.
After some time Kazutora brought three people to your office, Manjiro Sano, Chifuyu Matsuno and Takemichi Hanagaki. "I'm sorry but Satou couldn't come" Chifuyu explained "I hope you don't mind" he looked at you smiling, you couldn't believe that there was actually not many people who cared about Baji, it made the decision seem even easier to make. You looked at all of the boys as you were holding the already treated kitten "I need you to discuss who is going to take this kitten in, please look at him closely before making the decision." after saying that you gave the kitten to Mikey. He looked into its eyes and without a second thought decided to name him "Have you considered to name it after Baji?" he said it hugging the kitten gently. You and Kazutora nodded "We did notice something odd about it, no other name feels right." Kazutora explained as he watched Mikey give the kitten to Chifuyu. "Maybe it's a sign" said Takemichi looking at Chifuyu holding the kitten. Chifuyu looked at the kitten really closely before hugging it "I really want to keep it..." he said almost whispering. Takemichi watched Chifuyu get more and more attached to the kitten each second "Anyone has something against Chifuyu taking the cat?" he asked looking at the others. You couldn't participate in the conversation because you had to prepare documents to fill but you listened to everything they were saying. Kazutora and Mikey discussed that Chifuyu would be the best pick but it would be better if the kitten decided. Chifuyu put the kitten on the floor as the others got into position, it didn't take long before the kitten picked its new owner. "So Chifuyu it is" you said watching the final decision before handing Chifuyu the documents to fill out "Please write your name, surname and contact information, don't forget to write cat's name and check the species box." you were very serious about it, the document you handed out already had health problem written down.
After making a copy of the document it was time to say goodbye to everyone and close the office for the night. After you closed the office you noticed that Mikey and Kazutora didn't leave, you were confused to see them wait for you. Before you could realise Kazutora pinned you to the wall "Who do you like?" he asked with a calm voice, it made you blush. You didn't know what to do or say because you loved two people and both of them were awaiting your answer. "Please stop using dirty tricks" Mikey looked at Kazutora as he grabbed your hand "Do you want to know my answer?" Mikey asked looking into your eyes smiling. The pressure was unbelievable but lower than on the day you reunited with Kazutora. You took a deep breath before saying anything "Mikey... If you like me just say so. Kazutora, I have been keeping my promise for so long but..." you speed dialled Takemichi also muting the sound in your phone so the boys wouldn't realize you were stressed enough to call for help "I couldn't feel safe around you for about the same amount of time, I was scared you wouldn't change, Kazutora I was scared of you..." both of them were looking right into your eyes it made checking your phone more difficult but you just assumed that Takemichi picked up the call. Mikey could sense that something was up so he pulled you closer "Kazutora, I'm not your enemy anymore, I want to keep Y/N safe just like you but you're scaring them right now." Mikey's tone was more serious than ever, he slid one hand onto yours and took the phone from your hand "Are you willing to have a sleepover?" he said to the phone soon after checking who you called "Great" the fact that he got the answer meant that he turned off mute mode as he took your phone. Mikey ended the call and gave the phone back to you "We're sleeping at Takemichi's place" he said looking at Kazutora "If you want to you can come over but just so you know..." he walked back up to Kazutora "Takemichi won't make you feel welcome tonight" after announcing that Mikey grabbed your hand and started walking away from Kazutora.
You were unsure how to feel, you were worried that Kazutora might go insane again, you were also hoping he would understand. "Not everyone deserve your forgiveness, keep that in mind." Mikey said sitting on his motorbike giving you a sign to to sit behind him. You sat down and held onto him tightly as he started his vehicle.
