The fin-tastic story about our French angelfish receiving a CT scan is making waves! Here’s an update on the post we shared last week including more information about the diagnosis and treatment, along with photos of the highly requested CT images!

Earlier this year, Tropical Discovery Animal Care Specialists noticed this angelfish was swimming abnormally, tilted to one side. They brought it to the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Animal Hospital where the Veterinary Medicine team performed a CT scan and ultrasound and found that the fish had enteritis (inflamed intestines). This resulted in increased intestinal gas that was affecting its buoyancy. The angelfish was treated with a course of antibiotics that resolved the enteritis and is now doing much better and swimming normally.

Ibrahim @aburakhiaibrahim currently lives with his parents in their destroyed house in Gaza. His parents are elderly and have chronic illnesses. Their GFM was created over a year ago (2 March 2024) and is just over a third of the way to the $30k CAD goal. It supports not only Ibrahim and his parents but a total of 28 members.

I have made a post about Ahmed @ahmedfamily900 and his family back in November. Their campaign has made progress (from €797 to €3,397 raised of the €100,000 goal, only 3% funded), but it remained very slow, sometimes going days with minimal increase.

This family is trying to raise funds for their daily needs of around 20 members and for the treatment of several members who have been injured during the current campaign of genocide by the settler state. Two of those injured are children. Another child has cleft palate which needs prompt surgical correction to prevent speech and feeding difficulties. Ahmed's twin brother had been taken by the IOF and released in September. (Details in the post linked in par. 1)

With the impending truce, Ahmed and his family may be able to return to their home in the north of Gaza, and they would have been happy to return to a even broken down structure with dilapidated rooms, but some of their acquaintances have informed them that there is not even rubble to return to. They still need our support. ETA: Ahmed is also requesting others to sponsor/make their own posts/regularly share his campaign. If you can, please do not hesitate to do so.

Nonbinary community. We need something that's ma'am / sir but for nonbinary people or people who don't identify always with those.

I have a few people I interact at while working. That use ma'am and sir all the time and who stop and are apologetic. And would really love something they can use.

I am not nonbinary I am a trans man. But we have a nonbinary coworker. And there nothing online that we can find.

Just something that should be thought about. Cause there are people that use those words and would be relieved if there was something they could use for those who don't fit the binary of them.

My sister needs our help

My sisters service dog got hit by a car, and this info was purposefully kept from us for hours by our brother. (we had to force a friend of his to tell us, the others didn't say a word)

We went to an emergency vet but they screwed us over, Sent him to a different vet when he wasn't ready or got the care he needed. He got worse and it costed us $1,100

He is currently staying at an er and getting a chest tap, a dnr was signed. At the time of posting this the cost of treatment is $3,700.

This has not only been heartbreaking but is causing loads of financial stress on my sister, I want to help. The goal amount may fluctuate with charges added on, any amount given or shares helps.
